  We didn't have any expectations about eating at Cabana Fesca. It was rate above 4.5 so we knew it was reputable. We didn't have reservations but we were provided a nice take with a view of the near seaside. While you have to pay for the cover (olives, paté and bread) it wasn't unexpected. Wine was excellent and about 11€ for a half bottle. The meals were excellent as main courses, sea bass w/tagliatelle and lamb shank slices w/sauteed vegetables. A complimentary glad of house port was a pleasant surprise to end the meal. A definite revisit while in Albufeira.   We had such an amazing experience The food is awesome and the staff was super nice. It was My bf’s birthday dinner and they did not disappoint a tiny bit. I highly recommend their Portuguese rice side dish as it was so flavourful and everything served in general was a delight! Definitely recommends and would go back there again.   I visited this place with my wife and child last week. The staff are friendly and polite. The food we tried was amazing and the seafood so fresh.   Food just mediocre, rubbery chicken piri piri we had to send back because we couldn't eat it but still got charged for it. But the worst is the horrendous music, seriously unbearable! We asked the music to be changed like at least 2 other tables did, but apparently the owner does not allow it. Bring earplugs!   The Cabana Fresca quickly became our favourite place to eat in Albufeira principally because of the friendly good service, but also the food was so very good and reasonably priced. It may be the case that all the sangria in Albufeira is excellent; but I've never tasted any as good as that served at the Cabana Fresca. And of course the gorgeous smile of one server contributed in no small measure to it becoming our favourite!!   We came here for lunch on a lovely sunny day in February with our 2 kids and we were not disappointed. The waiting staff were very friendly and really made us feel welcome. The food was delicious, we ate the paella, grilled sea bass, and the peri-peri chicken. 4 clean plates, and with our kids that is really something!   The young guy who served us was amazing! The location is fab; the heaters and blankets are the perfect touch in winter. The starters were amazing! The lamb was over cooked, the chicken piri piri did not live up to its name and had a weird curry taste. I would fo back I just wouldn't order those mains! The drinks were lush!   This was a great find for us. Location wise we had a good view of the beach, and the parking was nearby so easy to get to. The music was chilled, and not overpowering for us. Food wise we had the cataplana and ribs. Both were excellent. Tasty food, and a very good price. Service wise the staff were warm and friendly from start to finish.   We had an amazing night. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. The Cataplana was fantastic, exactly what I was looking for. The seating area is outside but there are many heaters above and to the side and they also provide blankets if you need them. We were just sat in jumpers and it was fine (January). For dessert we wanted the crème brulé but they had run out. 2 mins later a member of staff came over and said that they would find out if their sister restaurant had any left and they would go get it.   Wow! Beautiful place, lovely setting, amazing sea views. The service was so friendly and welcoming. Staff spoke good English and couldn't have been more helpful. We had the Seafood mix, which came in a large covered pan, in an amazing broth. The seafood was giant prawns, clams, the best monkfish chunks we have ever had, mussels, crab claws, potatoes in a tomatoe based liquor. Absolutely incredible. The waiter served the first helping and lovingly presented the plate, making a pattern on the plate with the broth. We had white sangria, which was gorgeous and fresh!!   We ate here a few times as the food was only divine. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Lovely atmosphere and setting near the beach. Despite it being late October, we were still able to eat outside comfortably under the canopy with the heaters. Definitely worth a visit.   Food was not that great. Leg of lamb was boneless slices of of lamb meat. Which made it very chewy. Bacalhau was also a big piece of tasteless fish on some veggies. But may be this is traditional Portugese food and we are not used to it. But the service was very good. They did not charge us for Desert because it took time to come out.   The Service in this restaurant was terrible. We asked for 2 breakfasts, one with tea and one with a coffee. The tea and coffees were there straight away, but no milk for the tea, so again, we waited and waitedfor someone to come within earshot to tell them we needed milk. Another 5 minutes passed before the milk landed, and by this time the tea was cold !! The breakfasts were good, and probably the cheapest we found at €6 each. But the service in between was terrible, where we also needed napkins, and had to take the from a nearby table. They tried to charge us for two teas, but we refused to pay and worked out a price we were happy with. On this occasion, cheap food meant terrible service.   A lovely restaurant in between a lot of options. We visited the old town of Albufeira with the goal of having a walk around and having dinner. We ended up here mainly due to the nice conversation with the waiter explaining some of the menu out front. The restaurant was busy, which is a good sign. Our dinner was wonderful. I will recommend this restaurant to anybody I know who will be in Albuferira. The staff are lovely, we took recommendations from them for wine, our starters and mains and it all turned out perfect.   Good experience in general, food and service was good. We had english breakfast, tried salmon dishes, local beers, coffees, and fresh orange juice was great too. The only thing we didn't like sitting in the terrace, smokers are alowed to smoke, so cigarette smoke was present from nearby eaters. Overal good and nice terrace by the beach. 4,5 stars!   the food is nice but it doesn’t make up for the bad service and long wait times to get something to eat. was almost impossible to get someone’s attention when you needed something. our main took 1h40mins to arrive while tables next to us that arrived AFTER we did finished their food. the bill took 20 mins to come and then 10 more minutes to get someone so we could pay. we spent over 2 hours there for a starter and a main. not a single time we were asked if everything was ok or if we needed another drink.   Normally not one to leave a bad review, but probably one of the worst experiences in a restaurant I had in a while, mainly down to service, and how long food takes to be served, complete inattentiveness. Food was not the worst by any means, but 1h 40 minutes for a main to be served? A salad starter 40 minutes? Then having to ask for the bill 3 times over 30 minutes. From when we sat down until we left it was almost 3 hours, I've been to 10 course tasting menus that were shorter. Ordered a bread basket and it was given to a table two seats down, they were touching it in front of service and then service brought it straight to another table after realizing it was not for them. We never received our bread basket in the end either. Seeing front of house constantly touch their hair and face and then setting cutlery without washing hands was a bit off putting too. It just seems so chaotic and unorganized.   Visited it twice over the course of a week, didn't go wrong with anything. The goat cheese starter was delicious. The steak with the green peppercorn sauce was the best I've ever tried.   Went here as a group of friends. We were told that a table was available - it wasn't, we had to stand and wait for a long time. We didn't mind as the location is pretty. Bread and olives were lovely. The food took a long time to arrive. The waiter forgot to bring one of the meals to our table which meant that one person was sat waiting whilst everyone else was eating. After 5 minutes of trying to get the attention of staff, someone came over and told us that the missing meal was still being prepared and it would be another 3 minutes. The food came as the rest of the table were finishing their meals. The apology felt ingenuine and we were charged full price for the meal. The food was average - nice but that's it. The presentation was more impressive than the taste. We sat with empty glasses and dirty plates for around 15 minutes. We had to ask for them to be cleared away and we requested the bill twice before being able to pay. Overall, it's a nice restaurant but it did feel like a bit of a tourist trap: pretty location/presentation but no need to make you want to return.   The good: the service. People are kind and attentive. The bad: This is some of the worst food in Portugal. Do not choose this as your meal. It is truly an overpriced tourist trap. The octopus and shrimp salad was primarily watermelon doused in watermelon juice. As for the duck, it was rubbery and overcooked.   We rented a sun bed on the beach and a waiter keep us fed and watered all day. The coconut daiquiris were unreal! We had some toasties too that were really tasty. The beach service was great and we didn’t have to traipse up to the restaurant with bags and the kids everytime we wanted drinks. Overall great service and food/drinks.   Came to this restaurant as I wanted to try some traditional poruguese food, namely cataplana. I shared the seafood cataplana with a friend, which was delicious. Unfortunately, it didn't taste so good when I violently threw it back up again a few hours later. Clearly, the seafood must not have been prepared well. I also overheard the couple at the table next to us complaining that their chicken was undercooked, so this clearly wasn't an isolated incident. We ordered olives and bread to start off with and then a seafood dish and peri peri chicken which both were amazing, the seafood was so fresh and tasty. On the side we had a potato side and rice, both were just as good as the mains.   This restaurant offers a higher level of eating experience than other establishments around. Yes the prices might be a bit higher than elsewhere but you can see the difference once you try it. Staff was very professional and attentive making sure we are well looked after.   Firstly starting with the staff, they were friendly and welcoming and would go above and beyond to make your time with them perfect. One of the reasons I picked here was the staff didn't have to "hard sell"the restaurant line the others in the area. The atmosphere is wonderfull with an amazing view of the beach. The food was exceptional, from my first experience which was a lunchtime baguette, it was full of flavour so good I went back the next day for the same. Dinner here was a wonderfull experience everything I had on 3 occasions was cooked to perfection, portion size was good, the food was just full of flavour. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent.   Top-notch service and food quality. A wonderful restaurant experience. This is the best restaurant in the Old Town and somewhat out of place when compared to others nearby. The negative reviews may relate to a different establishment. One of the few places that serve cataplana dish (traditional seafood stew) for one person (most only serve for 2). It was replete with monkfish and seafood including crab claw, shrimp, clams etc. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable about wines and food ingredients. Menu has appropriate mix of traditional and ‘tourist’ options. Price-point is excellent as I paid the similar for ‘paper-napkin’ service and poor quality ingredients in other places.   Amazing! Everything here was exceptional. First, the food was delicious and prepared just right. The large tiger prawns were grilled perfectly with just the right amount of cheese and seasonings.   Actually, my expectations were not high as the restaurant is located in a very touristy area which normally means that the prices will be high and the quality of food low... But everything was quite the opposite: prices are fair and dishes are tasty (and big portions)! We paid 73 euro for 3 people: 3 starters, 2 soups, 1 paella, 2 sangrias, 2 desserts, water (and we were offered some port wine afterwards). Waiters are very busy but quite friendly (and speak, like, one hundred languages :) Great view. Overall - recommended! We ordered the garlic prawns as a starter to share and then both ended up having the same dish: the steak with potato gratin/bake and some asparagus. It was lovely and the meat was very tender.   Very happy to get our party of 8 ( 4 adult 4 children ) to sit down bit as soon as we ordered service was appalling all 7 meals came out missing my meal which was 15 minutes later by this time everyone had finished my 9 year old autistic son also found a maggot in his salad I'm not sure he will ever eat salad again now we waited 30 minutes for our bill which of course was discounted and rightly so !!   Promenade situated restaurant that opens early and closes late. We went in and had a breakfast which was cheap at only €5 with a coffee.   The problem here was having to give this place 1 star as its more than one too much, anyhow my other half ordered Salmon with garlic butter with ( Chips ) which was over cooked and tasteless, mines was a belter I ordered Pork satay on the skewer with ( Chips ) which was covered with a thick peanut sauce once cut open revealed fatty pink uncooked pork eeeek, was promptly sent back and another was cooked but by that time I’d lost my appetite and didn’t trust them to be able to cook another properly so eat there at you own risk not a great eating experience as you can imagine. Although it provides meals for families and children, we always seem to find it attracts couples and older people and is generally quiet in the evening.   Visited last night family of 6 , ordered fillet steak these arrived in small bits ( offcuts ) 3 meals came out in correctly , asked for many things like cutlery napkins sauce many times for it not to be actioned . Sent a meal back wasn’t apologised to or offered another meal !! Was told when they doubled the price of the children’s meal as there is no menu they can charge what they like !!! Manager was the rudest man I have ever ever met when we asked to have the meal that was unsatisfactory removed he said he would call the police !!! The Profiterole was amazing, I think I ate like two of those in total because they were too big for my parents.   Cabana is located right on the beachfront in the far corner of Old town. Lovely location! First class service and amazing Chicken Cataplana. Veal was also a highlight as were the €5 happy hour cocktails. Came here for dinner 4/5 times in 2 weeks it was that good.   Really nice food! I had the veal in mushroom sauce, which was amazing! The sauce is rich and you just want more and more! The other dishes in the table were nice, everybody was happy at the end of the meal. For dessert I had the profiterole, which was also really good.   Outstanding menu. The bacon wrapped sea bass and pork in dark beer and plum sauce were both amazing. The chocolate lasagna was way too sweet for our taste and we love desserts! The service was slow at first but picked up with time. The place has a decent view if you're not stuck in the back and very polite waiters. The prices are very good for what you're getting.   This is truly a great spot. The food is really good,tasty and is has to be locally sourced as it was so fresh, flavoursome and vibrant. Its spotlessly clean with the nicest staff in any restaurant in the Algarve. Its February and we tried a few other places around the Algarve from Faro to Sagres, not all were open, most were only fine so we were less than good so we were not that confident for the options as we were in the area for a few days. Thankfully this place was well reviewed and rightfully so. On our last day it was raining and our young daughters shoes were a bit wet. The brilliant staff went out of their way to be kind and welcoming to us they took her sneakers and brought them to dry and also gave them blankets! Our girls were so happy at Cabana Fresca they called all the team here their friends! Especially Artem he is a wonderful character and excellent restaurant manager.   We had a good place facing the sea, amazing view. The service was well organized and professional. We choose a lobster that we shared for 2. The prices are slightly higher than other places but quite similar to most of restaurants you will find in this area. A very very busy place, and even with a lot of staff, you can be sometimes forgotten... we had to wait a bit to get or plates cleaned out the table and spent 15 minutes before being asked for cofee and desert.
