  The food was really good. A bunch of interesting and tasty flavours. Fair prices. I recommend the masala tea - for me it tasted like a mix of tea, coffee, soil and potato soup- but in a good way. The only thing being strange was the place it self with a TV showing videos of Mount Everest which is not strange but the sound was on and a bit disturbing.   positive side is they don't close for lunch, so I went there at 4pm. They have lots of vegan options, including appetizers, snacks, etc. I had the vegan butter chicken, which wasn't so spicy (to me, at least. It was full of flavour, but not spicy. The staff is very nice too. The prices are okay (I payed 12€ for the main dish).   A search for vegan restaurants revealed this hidden gem in the lanes of Faro Old Town. They do cater for carnivores too but those on a plant-based diet will love the vegan / vegetarian options. The Khaja Set - vegan traditional Nepali snacks - is absolutely delicious - one of the best things I have ever eaten! I’m not vegan so I also had the chicken mo-mo which was good too. We sat in the lane, in the March sunshine, watching the knife-grinder with a caneca. I’ll be going back soon!   My girlfriend and I just visited and this place is just amazing. Their Nepali style curry chicken is amazing but their stir fried pork noodles are to die for, I've never eaten better ones! Very nice staff, cozy atmosphere and 10/10 very hearty food for a decent price. It couldn't be better.   Me and my boyfriend have had the best unexpected food experience ever. We know nothing about Nepalese food, and we would love to give it a try after hearing so many good things and reading so many good reviews online. We ordered the steamed Momos, fried noodles, and spicy soup noodles. It was one of our best meals ever. The taste is fulfilled, warm and hearty without overbearing taste of any ingredients.   We found Mani's place by accident while walking through Faro’s downtown and rain caught us. So we just ran inside to hide from rain and the ambience was so peaceful and calm that we felt welcomed and decided to stay for dinner. As vegetarians we found quite some options in the menu (he even offers vegan dishes). What impressed us was the freshness of the food that was clearly prepared on the spot, very flavorful and delicious! Prices are decent as well. We payed 47 for 2 main dishes, 2 snacks, 1 appetizer and 2 drinks (the hot lemonade is yummy). I gladly recommend this cute small Nepali palace for anyone attracted to Asian food.   Stumbled across Mani's and were not disappointed. Mixed veg starter outstanding and explained to us in detail. We ordered chicken Nepali rice and Chilli chicken for mains which we shared.   This place has a very large variety of vegan options. We ordered the momos (tasty, but make sure to order them half steamed) , the pakoras (the best we ate so far), the butter soy (the soy chunks were great but the sauce was a little to spiced for me), and the set plate with several dishes which was really good. The masala papadam was a little strange - papadam with a ton of peanuts and a little mix of vegetables. Actually the only dish I would not recommend trying. Do not miss this place. Then, we ordered a Thukpa to go, and found out we got the meaty version only while eating it at home. Maybe it was our mistake, but we always ordered everything in vegan and obviously wanted the vegetable thukpa and not the meaty one. Do I recommend the place? Definitely!   Honest review, not the usual publicity nonsense! The good: interesting food with a Nepalese accent as well as more standard stuff like chow mein etc ... Has some veg/vegan options ... quality is perfectly OK for the price and portion size fair. Friendly team. The Not So Good: They played Nepalese inspired music but it's on a 5 minute loop ... so every 5 mins you have to listen to the same song again, and again, and again .... I went in a chilly evening in November and all the doors were wide open, as a result it was freezing inside - even staff had their overcoats on and one even remarked "its cold in here heh?" . Clearly both they and the rest of us were cold enough to feel uncomfortable ... the difference is we were paying for the experience! Would I go back: No. Would I order take-away: Maybe, but only if it was specifically for the momo's otherwise there are better - and sometimes cheaper - choices for Indo-Asian accented food in Faro. Don't be blinded by "5 star vibes for everything" kids. Pick a place and spend your cash wisely....   We arrived for dinner just before 9pm. The tables got busy and everybody waiting for so long. We were served after 2 hours waiting! They brought the food at 22:45. Only 2 people working, to take order, cook and serve. It was only a Nepalese couple, the owners it seems and no staff. The food was fresh but main course had a starter size, a very small portion. It was frustrating because they have a good review and the food was poor Noodles was dry and not joking, it had only 3 little pieces of chicken. It was more like a plain noodles. Prawn curry had 8 prawns on it served in a little bowl, starter size. We wasted our time, still stayed waiting for that long to be served trusting the reviews but it was awful. Do not waste your time going there. Who in the earth take 2 hours to prepare a plain noodles , steamed dumpling and boiled rice? Every table ordered same type of food and all of them waiting . Horrible. Also , whilst you wait, there is no one to see if you want more drinks and there is no nibbles or any snack to have in advance.   We came here on our last evening in Faro and what a meal! Super lovely staff and the food was delicious. Well worth all the high stars! This was my most memorable meal on the trip. We had vegan momo and thukpa (this could have been vegan or veggie, I can't quite recall) and highly recommend both. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, but the flavours in both were amazing. I've only had Npalese food once before (not in Portugal), and this place knocks the socks off the previous place I tried. The experience at this restaurant has opened my eyes to trying more Nepalese restaurants. Thanks for the lovely service and recommended for anyone in Faro!   Literally the best South Asian food I’ve ever eaten in Europe. I recently spent two months in India eating everything (vegetarian) that I could find, and now that I’m home no food has compared… until I was randomly in Faro for one day and found this restaurant two blocks off the tourist track. They actually use complex spices and traditional ingredients (and some heat, if you ask for it!) to prepare authentic Nepali dishes. I had the pani puri and the jhol momos (I’d had many momos before but this was my first time trying them prepared à la “jhol”) and can highly recommend both. The two dishes were more than enough for me for dinner but I wish I’d been in town longer as I would have loved to also try their Nepali snack plate (I saw it arrive at another table and it looked really interesting!).   For starters we ordered the pani puri, vegan momo & chatpate. Then for mains the butter tofu, Chana masala and stir fried veg. All the food was amazing, especially the butter tofu (Vegan butter chicken). The staff were so polite & were helpful in suggesting what to order such as the momo which we thoroughly enjoyed. We have a mix of dietary requirements so we found it so helpful to have a place that caters for all of us as well as having everything clearly labelled. We stay in Carvoeiro but would happily make the trip to Faro for the food at Manis! Hopefully we will visit again soon to try more Nepalese food!   I can honestly say this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The service was great. I took all the recommendations from the server and ended up getting four courses (plus wine). We have tried most of the dishes on the menu and nothing was short of outstanding. All homemade, nothing bought in. If you want the thali then you have to pre order in advance as it takes a while to prepare and everything is made fresh. It's worth going out of your way to come here.   We had our best meal in our entire Algarve holiday here. The owners are extraordinarily kind and the food they serve up is outstanding. If you’re staying in the old town area of Albufeira, do yourselves a favour and go here to get out of the touristy area and savour delicious home cooking. Their menu features numerous delicious options of all sorts and the prices are superb, as are the portions. We walked from old town and it only took us about 15 minutes and we’re no spring chickens either ;) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Read a few reviews before going which persuaded us to try it and yup, it was everything we hoped it was, home cooked nepalese food with bags of flavour.   The veggie momo was a delightful flavour sensation. I devoured each one and wanted more! The sauce for the vegan butter chicken was also beautifully spiced. Best meal I had in Albufeira. It's only a 20 minute walk from the centre of old town and definitely worth a visit to get away from the more touristy restaurants.   The best vegan food you can have in Albufeira! Mani and his wife were extremely welcoming and the food was out of this world. They even made sure our vegan items were cooked separately from the meat which was very appreciated. The flavours within the food were fantastic. Having tried some pure-vegan places in Albufeira, we were left disappointed due to how bland they were. On the other hand, Mani's was the complete opposite - the flavours delivered a perfect punch on my palette to the point where we had lunch there 3x in a week!   Went to Mani's twice on our stay and thoroughly enjoyed both meals and had very friendly service. The first time was a margherita pizza which was delicious 😋. On the second visit we enjoyed Nepalese dishes. We had the chatpate salad...crunchy, fresh and spicy. We also had the butter chicken (served with warm , freshly baked roti) and momo dumplings. We also enjoyed the Lukla Nepalese beer. The meals were reasonably priced and servings were generous. Highly recommended place to eat.   Went here last year and it's hands down some of the best food I have ever eaten!!! They were closed unfortunately on the day we came but we went back the next day and it was worth it.   Never leave reviews usually but the pizza is terrible! You can see through it it's so thin with so little topping. I have nothing against thin pizzas usually but this was not good and it was over cooked. Staff were nice and I'm sure other food they sell is great but do not come here for pizza!   This was my first time trying Nepali food and I truly loved it! This restaurant is a gem in Albufeira. Lovely and cozy place with a 6 stars service! My husband and I enjoyed every single dish and the beer…wow! Just amazing! Trying their Lukla beer is a most. Great variety in their menu and so many vegan options, too!   Came here after another vegan place with pizza was close and I’m beyond happy we came here, because once we tried the other place it did not even compare to Mani’s pizza! We tried 2 kinds of pizza and they were both delicious it was hard to choose our favorite one. Loved that they have vegan cheese and your not just eating a cheese less pizza with veggies!   Just by chance we discovered this restaurant, we needed to print something in the shop beside it and as we are already hungry we thought why not try it. First we thought it's just a pizza place, but TBH it's so much more. It's a Nepali food restaurant and we ordered some of their chilli and curry as well as MOMO (Nepali dumplings) and I all honesty this is the best Asian food I ever tried, so unreal delicious and the service by the owner was perfect as well. If we ever come back to albufeira we will for sure visit again.   What a find! Traditional Nepolese Fayre and a very warm welcome. We had Buffalo and Pork MoMo which were simply the best we had ever tasted. For main course Dal Bhat a Traditional homestyle mutton curry with rice and traditional Nepolese vegetables. The food was superb.   After arriving at Albufeira my group of friends and I were desperately craving some yummy authentic nepali food as I know Portugal has a small but growing Nepalese population. We tried Mani’s restaurant as it was one of the only ones that came up on google and we are beyond glad we found them!! The owners are such welcoming and lovely people and their food tasted freaking amazingggg absolutely no complaints whatsoever! Every dish we had tasted 2 was close to perfection!! If you’re new to Nepali food we recommend you try their chicken momo, fried rice, chilli chicken or chilli pork, chow mein, chatpate (a spicy street food -make sure you clarify your level of spice tolerance!) and or dhal bhat… 10/10 hit the spot! It was so good we came back the next day because no other restaurants could compare to the savoury spicy flavours of authentic nepali food (no offence to other cuisines or the local Portuguese food we had already tried lots of great Portuguese food in Lisbon up untill that point and was just craving something familiar). Anyway you won’t regret visiting this place, every meal is also very reasonably priced, you could have a feast for 4 people for under 50/60 euros with drinks included!!   We have now come here twice and will definitely be coming again. The cooks are the owners and are one of the loveliest couples. We have now tried both the nepali side of the menu and also the pizzas and can say that both are superb. This restaurant catered perfectly for the vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters in the group.   Wow the food is amazing! We came to Albufeira specially because these chefs are amazing and have were serving up great food in Olhao until recently. We had seafood and vegan dishes - spicy for my husband, mild for me - they even made us special vegan pizza garlic bread. We had (as always) momos too - if you haven't tried them be careful - they are addictive little dumplings with the yummiest dipping sauce. The owners are absolutely lovely as well and we finished off with a couple of games of pool downstairs. We are planning our next trip next weekend - getting hungry already ...
