  The owner of this establishment is an incredibly kind woman who made us feel exceptionally welcome and hospitable. She specially prepared Moroccan tea and a delicious Moroccan tagine with fries for us. The warmth and generosity we experienced made our visit memorable. I would highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a tasty halal spot.   Having a short holiday in Albufeira, we were looking for original Portugese cuisine. We stumbled on Rania's, not far from our hired apartment. The sign promised original Portugese food, so we got in. To our surprise the service was warm and friendly, real hospitality. We ordered the Algarve signature dish Cataplana. And this was delightful! Made with love and really excellent! The best meal we had in Albufeira.   One of the best lasagnas and lamb tagines we’ve had! We stumbled on this restaurant via trip adviser and we certainly don’t regret it. The owner was sweet and very observant knowing we have a spicier palette and added in some spice without even asking. We’re definitely going back before we leave! Also halal which is always a bonus.   Alhumdulillah everything was delicious! We got the Portuguese steak with potatoes (the tangy savory sauce paired really well with the tender steak and potatoes) and the chicken kebabs (tender and well flavored) and asked for peri peri sauce on it. We also got the wings (not pictured) but they were fresh, crispy on the outside, and very juicy. I was really happy to have some delicious halal meat after a lot of seafood.   We went as a young family this week as we were staying fairly close by & were looking forward to trying a top rated halal restaurant. The food didn't disappoint - we had peri peri chicken wings, the Portuguese steak meal as well as the steak with mushroom sauce meal. Everything was well flavoured & the service was great too.   We went their early this week while on holiday in Albufira. What a lovely restaurant, friendly staff/owner and cater our food very well. We did two takeaway and 1 dine in as we have small kids. We had piri chicekn and chicken wings on the first day and both were amazingly delicious. The other day we had sirloin steak and loved it. On our last day we takeaway hamburgers.   Lovely little restaurant, nice and quiet with no loud music nearby. Food was reasonably priced and was excellent, we ate here a few times and every meal was delicious. Enjoyed the friendliness and repartee of the Scottish lady on the door, she was lovely but our waiter, a young man was a bit dour and untalkative. Would love the recipe for their chicken pasta as its the best I've ever had, so tasty and really full plates. Definitely revisit.   We were pulled in here by a woman outside the restaurant. No drinks menu or wine list. Asked for a bottle of red wine. Had bread, olives and soup to start. Bread was ok. Olives were old and did not taste good. Soup took over 30 mins to come out (we were the only customers at this point). As soon as it did the rest of our food came out so I felt rushed to finish. I had sirloin steak for main. It was terrible. Far too thin, overcooked and tough as old boots. I don’t think it was sirloin either. I sent it back and did want to risk anything else. Waiter was pleasant enough. Didn’t come back to ask how our food was. Had to go inside to pay and was asked for payment without a bill. I had to ask for it. Been coming to Albufeira for years.   Food arrived more than an hour later, tasteless and we could not fi ish. The Paella had more peas than seafood,the steak was like rubber and the spaghetti bolognese has clumped up bits of mince. When you take your family out, you're responsible for them having a good time and we all ended up hungry and out of pocket. Wouldn't recommend.   Inedible quality food, a joke of a restaurant. All the meals were frozen ready made meals with no authenticity and flavours. It turned out the management weren't portugese, they weren't Morrocan either after speaking to them in Morrocan. The restaurant was empty whilst everything near by was busy. A big mistake and €80 wasted. A message to the owner personally 1 treat your employees in a more friendly manner 2 be less rude and show less attitude to customers. 3 get s better chef or better yet close so that something more better can open because honestly ive never tasted such poor quality food when these food are simple yet elegant to make.   This restaurant was empty on a friday night at 8pm. This should have rang alarm bells. The lady that was serving had touted for us to come in . Whilst asking question she was getting impatient and also rude with her collegue/employee. When our food arrived it was luke warm, bland and tastless. It turned out this wasn't a true Morrocan or Portuguese restaurant but a bog standard knock off cooking a mix of indian Portuguese look a like food. I highly recommend you dont visit here. I really should have read the reviews before. From what i have heard, these type of businesses are a human trafficking front. They slave drive immigrants in the hope of providing visas and extorting money from vunerable. This leaves you with untrained people with no hygine or food preparation standard to cook your meal.   Extremely overpriced for mediocre quality food. The lady at the front looks terribly desperate to get people inside. When most don't enter, she puts up a very disgruntled face. They serve lovely Portuguese and Moroccan food. We ordered 1/2 peri chicken and the traditional Portuguese steak. Food was cooked fresh and the flavours were lovely.   Disappointing even though we had pretty basic expectations. No effort whatsoever, greasy frozen chips, salad was just a few dry bits, bland chicken in dry couscous with lots of large carrots.   Ordered a chicken kebab and chicken curry with rice and chips. It toke over 45mins for the food to come out. The chicken curry and rice was below average and chicken kebab was ok.   Our first meal in Portugal and it was amazing. We were warmly welcomed and seated by the owner. My wife and I had a lovely chat with the owner after our meal and really enjoyed thier company. The food was tasty and flavoursome. Atmosphere was very nice and calm, perfect for an afternoon meal. Food was also halal. Will defo be visiting here again before we leave.   Had the pleasure of dining at this little gem of a restaurant. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner. Asked if the food was halal and she confirmed that its all 100% halal. We knew the food would take some time to arrive based on previous reviews so we were prepared. All the food is cooked fresh and nothing is precooked or frozen. My steak was piping hot till the last bite!! The food was so flavoursome and authentic. Everything we had was just delicious. The owner came over and had a chat with us and she is so lovely. She is so passionate about the food she cooks and uses nothing but fresh ingredients and that showed in her food. Highly recommended Ranias but just remember that good, tasty and fresh food takes time to cook so please be patient with them. You won't be disappointed. We cannot fault the food or hospitality and would definitely be returning soon. Thank you so much for taking good care of us. The food was amazing, reasonably priced, the service was excellent and the owner was pleasant to talk to. It was the only Halal place that is owned my a Muslim family in the area and would highly recommend everyone to go and try it. I recommend that you pre-book a table so that the owner can provide you with personal service when dining at the restaurant. The owner was kind enough to give me and my friends a small gift as a thank you for dining at the restaurant. The food was glorious, the approach from everyone made us return daily for the duration of our stay in a nearby hotel. They ensured my kid was happy, and even these days when we chat about Portugal, our daughter recalls how James got some toys and how brilliant the dishes were. I speak no Portuguese, they spoke very little English, but the universal language of respect, love and fabulous food worked wonders. We will be back one day.   I approached this place with caution looked quite dated and wasnt alot of customers in the restaurant , but do not let this put you off . Food took about 30 minutes but was cooked fresh and to serve. I ordered a portugese steak and I have a had quite alot of steaks in my day but this was one of the best steaks I have ever had , the meat was fresh and clean it was hot and fresh and cooked to perfection, I asked for a medium and I got a medium , and the Portuguese sauce was exquisite all of this topped with the fried potato circles made for a perfect meal.   The sirloin steak was absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection. The veg soup was very good too. Steak was served with black pepper sauce which i think needs to be changed as the whole black pepper seeds kind of ruins it but the mushroom sauce was a 10 out of 10. on top of that all the meat and chicken is halal.   The first time we ate here was fantastic - great food (seabass and grilled chicken). We read about the couscous which needs to be pre-ordered so we gave 2 days notice for this and was told it would be ready at 7pm. We arrived at 7pm and we are still waiting for an hour for the food - always told “it is being heated up”. This is a huge disappointment and really, really not good enough for a restaurant that could otherwise be decent. We will not be returning.   Couldn't find any halal restaurant or takeaways whilst in Albufera but got recommended to visit Ranias so my wife and i went, asked if they did naan breads but the waitress didn't know what that was so she went to get her boss, luckily enough her boss was a Muslim from Morocco but sadly she did not serve naan breads but she said she serves 100% halal food and that only place I could get naan breads was from the Balti takeaway across the road where she and her family always get from to eat. I ended up getting the meat lasagna by far the best from what I ate at my hotel.   We were convinced by one of the restaurant owners standing outside to come in. The food was really lovely however, it took a lot longer than expected for what we ordered to arrive... especially as we were the only customers at the time. The decor is a little dated but the staff seemed really nice. I couldn't bring myself to use the bathroom as there was a huge cockroach sitting by it and it made me nervous haha!   Really not sure about this place being Halal.. yes the listing says halal and the menu says halal but staff are both not Muslim,how on earth did they serve us food when only 2 members of staff in restaurant? One just stood by the bar the other guy disappeared out the front door 20mins later food is served? Half grill chicken for 12 euros that's 10£ in UK where u get a whole chicken my guess is they order the food in and then put on plates and serve at best. No smell of cooking from kitchen which was not far from where we sat. A classic sign of food not being halal is blood deep inside meet by bone on this occasion that's exactly where the blood was. I think this place serves fake halal food from a menu which they do not cook from but order in and double the price as a profit margin. I would never eat here again. It's not halal and definitely not cooked on premises. Only God knows how they are getting away with this type of fraud.   Most likely the only halal sit down restaurant in Albufeira. They had a separate halal menu. We had a seafood cataplana (€14.50) and a Piri piri grilled chicken (€10). The cataplana had good flavours and a big portion. The grilled chicken was unfortunately a bit bland and dry. Prices were reasonable and there were quite a few options.   Two nights ago my wife and I ordered the swordfish. It was wonderful. The portion size was huge for the cost. Well worth the stop here. Last night I had the fish, seafood Cataplana.   We only went there to find halaal food but were surprised that they serve beer and non hallaal food as well. Very small portions and over priced food. Better to have kebabs from some kebab shop instead of paying for this tasteless food. We ordered mix grill that was no where near we get in London normally. It was One small piece of beaf (very hard) 2 small pieces of lamb (again not well cooked) and one small piece of chicken for 16€. And piri piri chicken portion was like a baby chicken portion.   Such a disappointment. This place is either ok or a total miss depending on the day. One visit it was good, not amazing but no issues at all. Second visit 6 meals all sent back because they were cold. Not even slightly warm, totally cold, it was as if they had sat out for 20 minutes or not even been cooked, the centre of the mash potatoes was colder than my glass of water. No apologies given, they were remade took around 45 minutes. Rest of our group had finished for 30 minutes before they came back with the new mains. All the starters were the same and sent back. Uma visita foi boa, não foi incrível, mas sem problemas. Segunda visita 6 refeições, todas devolvidas porque estavam com frio. Nem um pouco quente, totalmente frio, era como se tivessem ficado 20 minutos fora ou nem cozido, o centro do purê estava mais frio que o meu copo d'água. Sem desculpas, eles foram refeitos em cerca de 45 minutos. O resto do nosso grupo terminou por 30 minutos antes de voltarem com a nova rede elétrica.
