The cataplana was pretty good but let down by dessert.... ordered Tiramisu and given the tiniest piece of a something clearly out a packet and still frozen!   Visited four times during October-November. Mostly a seafood restaurant - i tried grilled shrimps and cataplana and fish soup - all were very nice. But the best one for my taste was the Portuguese-style Steak with bacon and potatoes, drowned in garlic sauce. Highly recommend! The frontside ocean view is probably one the best you can get across Albufeira locations, even in low season if its not too windy.   Sam be came the hero of the day. We were only looking for a place for a nice drink. The rain had just stopped, but the outside terrace was wet. Some nice talk, some cleaning and drying and Sam could offer us a nice table with an awesome view. The champagne sangria was exactly what we needed. The sun stayed, and we decided for lunch as well.   It was very average. The quality was not bad. Taste was not really there - rather plain. Service was okay - no soul. But the view out of the restaurant is nice. And the guy who convinced us to enter is also great - super friendly and open. For the rest, there’s nothing special about the place - only meant for the tourists. Refused to let us sit upstairs when we asked to be on the top because we was a group of 6( even tho she let a group of 6 boys go up without booking after refusing us) STOLE money when I asked her not to leave a tip. When i checked the receipt she had added a ridiculous amount for ( service charge). PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR RECEIPTS they have added money onto drinks! AVOID at all costs.   Nice food and dessert but not a crazy amount of selection. Staff were nice and even though the place was fairly busy at the time food came quickly. The view of the sea is a nice touch while eating. It's definitely worth visiting if you are spending a lot of time in Albufeira but I wouldn't say it's a priority. They have a good sea view from the dining area, especially the top floor and it does have a upper lookout with a tight access so it’s not for the faint hearted. The food was great and service was prompt and attentive. It’s a short walk to the center of old town Albufeira. Once entering saw the restaurant empty and knew we were in the wrong place, the menu wasn’t enticing, and the staff members were rude! We all said we would pay more for the food, it really is excellent value for the quality. The sun terrace has stunning views over the beach. Can't comment on the food but won't be returning due to the poor communication notifying customers there is a €30 minimum spend on card.   Good value for money and nice sea view. But not a must visit. The man at the front of house was quite rude to us. We asked for a table for two and were told it was needed back for 7:30pm which was more than okay with us. However come 7:30 no member of staff came to get us (like they normally would anywhere else)nor did anyone come in looking for the table. So we think the reservation is late and we sit for awhile to finish the ends of our drinks. Then around 7:35-7:40 a waiter asked us if we would like dessert, so we assume the reservation has not shown up and we accept the offer to stay for dessert. Then at 7:50-7:55, we go up to pay and the man sees us and gives out that we are still here and that we had to leave at 7:30pm and that the reservation was already seated at a different table. We apologized and explained that we thought they would come and get us or give us the bill at 7:30, but the man continued to talk back to us. Very very rude considering we apologized AND we were offered by the restaurant to stay for dessert at our table. Clearly just a misunderstanding that did not warrant the rudeness. Lost a star because of the rudeness, only reason it is two stars and not one is because of the view. But there are plenty of other restaurants in the area with lovely sea views and while the food was decent, it was nothing to rave about and could find something similar in any of the many restaurants in Albufeira. But the stuff was unflexibel and rude and got not treated well.   Nice view, the guy in the door Sam very nice, welcoming, great at his job. The other 2 waitresses we encountered were short tempered & rude! They were out of sauvignon blanc, which I ordered & the waitress was so short about an alternative ( which wasn't anything like sauvignon) in the end.. we left half behind! & Believe me that's BAD! The food was mediocre (frozen veg) & there was a short black hair in my wine glass of wine, I got a new glass no apology & NO offer to replace the wine. This Was NOT my hair, it was black, I'm fair. My husband accidentally asked for a set of cutlery I had received & the waitress was so sharp everyone around us got a shock.bad overall experience past the door!   Amazingly fresh golden bream fish and prawns. From these 2 dishes I can tell that they are serious about good quality fresh seafood... Absolutely delicious... The garnishes are otherwise bland but the main part of the dish more than makes up for it. They have their menus in several different languages and the waitresses speak English. Very friendly.   The views were spectacular, the staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was subpar. We were told all of the seafood was fresh, but the Calamari was clearly premade and frozen. When we asked about the children's fish sticks, we were also told they were frozen. We had the seafood cataplana. The broth was flavourful and the shellfish and salmon were nice, but the tuna was so overcooked it was a horrible brown colour and the third fish (I think it was monk) was mushy and quite undercooked.   Best restaurant my boyfriend and I ate in, in our full week in Albufeira, Portugal! Situated near the beach just passed the main prominade and the first row of market shops. First there is a greeter, who is very helpful and very kind natured and just for him, you want to try it!   Rooftop view is lovely. The beef dish was stringy but avocado and prawns were delicious. What was strange was they had a tv on the middle floor and there was a program on about milking cows!! Thoughtvit was a bit strange whilst people were sitting down to eat their dinner but a memory that will stay with me for humerous reasons. Casa Del Mar is by far the best place to eat in this part of the Old Town but this Restaurante 54 has great rooftop view overlooking the beach.   I'm not sure how this restaurant has reviews over a 2 star rating at best. Their dishes look nothing like the ones on their web site. Not even close! I ordered a prawn cocktail and also a prawn and garlic first dish my wife ordered sea bass. My cocktail contained 1 prawn and about 8 of those very very tiny shrimp that are normally served in a pasta dish.I'm talking small !!!! About 2cm in length. I cancelled my main course and watched my wife eat her dinner. She said it was acceptable. There are only 3 or 4 tables with a view. I hope people are not confusing this with another restaurant in the area that has an open balcony where all tables are outside and have a view.The woman at the table beside us was eating something that looked like pouridge/rice in mushroom soup. She did not eat much of it. It was some version of "RISOTTO". Totally discusting. Would not recommend this to an enemy.   The view is amazing and also the staff. The guy waiting in front of the door is not pushy but informative. The service was a bit slow however it worth waiting for the food. I ordered fish Cataplana and was very satisfying. There is no need to order fish and chips of you have a bit of a taste.   Beautiful view of the beach BUT the food tastes prepackaged. Ordered the Fish and Chips and was disappointed to find the fish tasted mushy and inedible. I'm a bit of a fat boy so I'm not one to waste but I couldn't bring myself to stomach more than a view mouthfuls of the greasy fish and reluctantly filled myself on the store bought McCain fries. Work in customer service and would've been happy to discuss my issues with a server but unfortunately had no check back. I don't review places much, but was incredibly disappointed here.   No check upon the guests. I ordered a starter and a main and yet the waiter had the audacity to question my choice which discouraged me from spending more money than I had to. Starters of mussels was good As was prawn kebab mains , I had bream but not a lot of side dishes. With pudding and bottle of wine bill reached €96 a bit pricey. Unfortunate to be ill next morning all symptoms looked to food poisoning but who can say with mussels.   Very good, great location. We were a party of 5, four adults and one child, and all of our meals were good to great. The service was very good, all meals and drinks were brought together and in good time. Our friends Cataplana, a fish/seafood stew was excellent, and they made it for only one person, which is rare as its normally two people minimum, which I thought was fantastic, not everyone likes seafood. We had Portugese steak, which was very good, and our other friend had a mixed meat kebab, which was also very good too. The childs meal was also very good, a good size and there was a choice of classic childrens meals. I will be booking next time and having a table on the upstairs balcony overlooking the beach.   The staff were not very friendly and a bit quick with us. The food was not fantastic for the money. There was 11 in total on holiday 6 adults, 1 teenager and 4 12yrs and under and this was by far the most expensive meal we had in the 2 weeks we stayed and the quality not worth it.   Visited here with my other half, and tried the Champagne Sangria (€15) and it was AMAZING. I've been here twice before and this was my first time and we always seem to get the best seat in the house. The lady there always makes us feel welcome, and will hopefully return in June & October this year. Well worth the money and the music is brilliant too. Excellent 10/10.
