  Popadoms greasy the mango chutney was watered down so much it was tasteless. Onion bajis were greasy. My meal was swimming in ghee. The rice and nan bread were fine but overall none of us enjoyed it. Also it was end of season so restaurant was packing up around us as we ate.   A spacious restaurant near Praia do Peneco with multiple options in menu. We tried chicken tandoori, prawn puri, pulav rice, chicken Madrasi. Everything was good, especially prawn puri was yummy!! The service was really good. We got our order delivered within 10-12 mins. Definitely a place to try for Indian cuisine.   Heard a few people talking about this place in old town so we gave it a try and it did'nt let us down the food was Amazing .We had a mixed starter and i had Chicken karahi for main dish best curry av had for a long time ...   We got a mixed started for 2, the butter lamb, lamb madras, vegatable rice, chefs special rice and cheese naan.. 100/10.. just divine! No pictures as nothing lasted long enough to take a picture. Even the wine (we just went with the house red) was lovely. Would definitely recommend.. we had a different Indian on our list but this was closer and so glad we came here. Would come back if we weren't leaving in the morning!   Coming from a curry fanatic that lives in Glasgow this place is top notch. Generally theres a que for a table and its worth waiting for it. Weve been here twice in our week but Id gladly eat here every night. The food is excellent, tasty and well spiced and portion sizes just enough. Ive just had the lamb madras tonight. I would thoroughly recommend it if you like medium hot curries. In our two visits i couldnt fault it. Definitely worth a visit.   Got chicken balti and chicken korma and the sauces were super tasty, however, the chicken was very dry, and seemed like from a microwave. I'd generally give it another try. And I'd recommend serving tap water and not to charge €4.5 for a big bottle which is a rip off. It was a nice location away from the very busy area & next to the elevator to the beach. Would go again, all very tasty!   Came for dinner and we left the place very happy with our choice. The service was very good, waiters were very prompt to deliver whatever we needed. The toilet was very clean and it smelled nice. Me and my partner ordere butter chicken, rice with mushrooms and some garlic naan. Food was very good honestly as we were very tired with the tourist traps in the old city center. The owner came over by our table to ask if everything was good and even helped around the waiters. I dont know if its a family business but it was a really nice experience and the food was great.   Made a short stop here while on holidays, and it took us by surprise. The food was different than what im used with but amazing altogether. The service was amazing, the staff such as a super friendly guy Shahadat miah and the chef himself welcomed us with a very warm welcome and service. And now to the most important part: The food. By far the best Indian food any of us have ever had! We had shrimp tikka masalah, butter chicken, chicken bunha, mushroom rice and vegetable rice and were more than pleased. It was soooooo delicious.   Given that this was my first experience trying true Indian cuisine, I really enjoyed my meal! The restaurant was always busy and smelled absolutely delicious every time we walked by. The menu had extensive options, including a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes.   As someone who always struggles to find quality Indian food back home, this was a must as soon as the smells made their way out onto the street and into my nose. I went right for the deep end and ordered the Lamb Vindaloo which was as exquisite as it was spicy. The rice was light and fluffy and the Naan was well prepared. The restaurant could use a bit of a cleanup and I noticed more than a few ants crawling around the tables, but when you're a seaside restaurant with doors open, that's par the course.   Cold welcome (white-skinned people were welcomed with a smile though), person who took out orders didn't have a clue about the kind of wines they had, request for an additional small cup of curry was completely ignored, no sauce with the starter, veg-Biriyani was oily and flavorless (perhaps those appreciating this restaurant have never eaten in an Indian restaurant). When asked by the owner how I liked my food, I said it was 'OK' for which he got totally defensive and shot back saying "we all have different tastes" instead of a asking what was wrong. For the first time after living 6 years in Europe, I developed stomach upset after eating here. The only good thing for us was its location. Response to owner's reply: If I was asked to pay extra, I would have been happy to pay extra! Now that you had time, you are coming with excuses on the internet about food sharing which you did not say when I complained in front of you. Nice try to divert the issue! It was simply the case of ignoring your Customer's request. Be big enough to admit it. People can easily from my other reviews that I rate restaurants based on the food quality and more importantly on the service mindset of the staff both of which were clearly missing here. I have still not mentioned about the actual double standards / discrimination I saw. Do you want me to share it here?   We had very high hopes going here because the reviews were so good. The service was very good, really fast. The food though was below average I would say. The sauces were fine, they didn't have tonnes of flavour, nothing too special. The garlic naan was nice.   Having eaten in 3 restaurants in old town albuferia this summer season, this is hands down the best Indian restaurant in this section of the algarve.   The one star rating is for the service. The rest is for the whole experience. Totally amazed as to why it is rated so high. I dont like giving a bad rating as covid has made enough of an impact on the hospitality sector. However. I dont like being rushed to order, nor told i cannot wait and have a starter and then order the main course. I also dont like to be told one main course is not enough for 2 people.! The chicken tikka starter had no flavour, reheated and very dry. The main course was average. No depth of flavour and enough oil to run a formula one car! Luckily the local cat enjoyed more than us!   Excellent Indian restaurant went three times on a ten day holiday! My wife who is vegetarian loves Indian food and each time had a different dish which she said all were really nice. We have eaten in Indian restaurants all around the world and here did the best Peshwari Naan we had ever tasted!   Enjoyed two meals at the Indian Ocean on a recent trip and cannot speak enough about the quality of food and service. The owner and staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly and on the second visit, served us lunch, despite being closed and preparing for the evening. The chef even came by to say hi and asked if we enjoyed the food. Top class experience. The food itself was delicious too. The seekh-kebab and prawn puri starters and must try items and we loved the Chicken Balti and Lamb Bhuna too. This place is a little gem in the Algarve and you can see how popular it is with repeat diners at many tables. Wish them all the best as they cook and serve some of the best Indian food you will have outside India.   Amazing Indian dining experience my wife our 9month old daughter and I went for dinner 2 nights ago and we were made feel welcome as soon as we stepped inside. We had our shared starters for 2 which were beautiful consisting of chicken tikka, lamb seek, onion bajji, and pakora. For mains I had the jalfrezi which was so fresh and my wife had the butter chicken which was so light and full of flavour. My daughter tried naan, pilau and poppadoms with riata for the first time and got the seal of approval. This restaurant should not be advertising themselves as an Indian restaurant as the food was the furtherest from authentic Indian food as it could get- slightly shameful. There was a hair in our lassi that they passed off as "spinach" and didn't apologise even once. When asked how the food was we told them our concerns which was met with "this is how we make it" he shrugged and walked away. Being an Indian restaurant they also couldn't give us any guidance on their vegetarian dishes. Left the restaurant feeling appalled and worse than when we walked in on an empty stomach.   Lovely place. Great food, absolutely delicious, best prices around for Indian food. And far away from the touristic center. Service was great, the owner very friendly. I especially liked the vegetables rice. Super tasty and for the first time I saw little cubes of potatoes in the rice.   Very tasty food, everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. It is situated in a very cute little street in old town, it has a casual and relaxed vibe. The owner is very genuine and friendly. Definitely hit the spot during our week in Portugal. There were a few locals at the time of our visit.   if you're in Albufeira and you want a great, non-local food for a change, don't go for a sad grill option on every corner - have a superb Indian meal. It's a first place i had set on my to-visit list even before landing in Portugal - it was this gem. Don't recall now where i found it, but it certainly stood its reputation. Having that said, we normally travel south for a good seafood, which is hard to find (crazy, right!?) in such a tourist place as Albufeira. Hence after some horrible pizzas and stuff we went for Indian food. BEST dupiaza by far that i have ever had. And we are spoiled in Sweden when it comes to Indian food (or any food really). And owner is just a fun to talk to! Best of luck, i already want to go back... The boss of the restaurant explained me, that they have only 3 month season , where the have to make all the turnover of the year. So they had to increase the prices.   We had never dined in an Indian Restauant before. Neetu and Faz made our experience the best of our holiday. We returned a second time and it was even better.   Amazing! I'm going to throw it out there and say it is the best indian i have ever had! I had lamb balti and lamb jalfrezi and they were superb. The meat was tender with no fat and the sauce was thick and full of flavour. I put myself into a food coma trying to finish it as it was so tasty.   This place is amazing!!! We live in the midlands (UK) which bosts some of the most finest Indian curry houses in the world yet this place gave them all a run for their money. I had the fish curry with mushroom rice and Naan bread, which was divine. So much choice and fantastic value for money. The staff are lovely and welcoming.   I only stayed in Albuferia for 5 days but we ended up eating here two nights in a row. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The price for one bottle of house red, 1 starter, 2 mains and 1 rice dish was 37 euros, and the meal was well worth the price. Recommended for a good dinner experience.
