  One of the best Spaghetti Bolognese I have eaten. The sauce was balanced and had a good flavor with tender meat! The pepperoni pizza and chocolate milkshake was good. Could have better maintenance of the restroom areas. They had a nice option of wood fires to give warmth to customers sitting outside in the cold.   Ate here early December and this place did not disappoint, i had the mussels and garlic bread my friend had a toastie with fries and a jug of Sangria which was only €8.50! Great value and cant wait to come back this March!   We visited Tasca D'Alkhaz on Valentine's Day this year so it was understandably very busy. Interestingly there were several other restaurants on the same street that were nowhere near as busy as here. We spoke with the maitre de who was very nice and managed to get us a table despite it being very busy. The food was great and the prices very reasonable. The service from the waiting staff however was what let the restaurant down. Yes it was busy, however all of the waiting staff seemed miserable. We waited a long time for drinks, we then waited a long time for food, both of which I understand as it was busy, but there were a lot of staff to cover the tables and being pleasant would have made the wait much more acceptable. Overall the restaurant was good, because of the maitre de, the food itself and the reasonable prices.   Great restaurant and the food was delicious and the service was great. We stumbled upon it while walking around and glad we did. I started off the the fish soup which was very flavorful and I main course was a fish plate with an array of fish, I never had grilled sardines and they were excellent! I rarely order dessert but ordered the strawberry crape. OMG it was delicious!   It was really nice to be seated outdoor next to the fireplace. I’ve ordered from the set menu: garlic bread, 3 pepper steak and dessert of the day (layered cake) with a glass of Douro red wine for €22.95. At the end of the meal, I was given limoncello on the house. The 3 pepper sauce was nice but after tasting, I still preferred a proper steak without any sauce. The dessert was delicious.   Very disappointed, as we were hoping for a great meal after a long journey. We have ordered pizzas... after a long wait- we've been served- a frozen pizza, with chopped ingredients on the top of it. The base was like rubber, cheese was terrible, it was dry... everything that you would never expect a pizza to be. Hands down worst pizza we've ever had. I never leave any crust, but that was just awful. If it wasn't for the fact that we've travelled all day and were starving, We would probably leave it and go somewhere else.   This was a fantastic choice for our last evening in Albufeira. The staff were great fun, the setting next to the real flame heater felt cosy and the food was amazing. I'm not usually a big fish fan but my sea bass was delicious. We didn't want a litre of sangria, and the large glass that was recommended was perfect for the two of us!   We went here twice while staying in Albufeira. There is nothing special about the food however it’s simple, nice and cheap! They have really good lunch deals. Sure, it might take awhile to get your order taken, and it'll take awhile longer to get your food, but it'll be worth the wait, I promise you.   We were in a party of 10 and not many restaurants could accommodate us on one table, so we ended up eating here, and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the best food we had in the Algarve, but it was nice. The tiger prawns were ridiculously huge!! Everybody appeared to like their food, and nothing was left by the time we were finished. The service was very good and the restaurant is very conveniently located in one of the main streets in close proximity to the beach. Menus in many languages - English, Spanish, Italian, French and of course Portuguese. Aircon inside could've been better, but there is outside seating, just not for a table of 10!   One waiter was very uninterested while taking our order. Didn’t ask how we wanted the steak done. There was 6 in our party. We got the tomahawk steak for two. Not worth the money, it was very chewy and no one told us how long it would be. They served one person and everyone else had to wait. The pizza was awful, couldn’t even eat it. The burger was alright. And the weans fish fingers was good. We waited a while after ordering any drinks. The restaurant was very busy so I understand a small wait. But we watched one waiter with our drinks go to every table bar us went back in then came back out after double checking. Sorry but not with the hype.   My husband and I ate here on our first night in Albufeira and it was a good intro to Portuguese cuisine. I enjoyed the Chef's special - a 3-course meal, including choice of starter, main, and dessert for roughly 18 euros. I had the garlic bread, the catch of the day (grilled sea bass), and ice cream. The starter and dessert were average and not worth the addition in my opinion. On the other hand, the sea bass was super delicious, flavourful, and grilled perfectly! The veggie sides are quite bland and left to be desired, but that was similar in most other restaurants in Albufeira. My caipirinha cocktail was tasty and refreshing after a day in the sun. I'd recommend the great outdoor patio dining, conveniently located steps from Tunnel Beach, and for the catch of the day! It's a good start for Portuguese food, but you can tell it's more tailored for a tourist's palate.   We had dinner here our first night in Albufeira and it was a solid reference point for the rest of the trip. I had the Octopus Stew and my wife had the Catch of the Day which was Sea Bass. Her meal was very tasty, but the stew, although good, was the most average octopus meal of my trip.   The worst meal I've ever had. Until now I have never sent a meal back but I received my 600g rib eye steak that I asked for medium rare that was closer to blue than anything else. It also tasted like they used the same pan for the fish dishes that they do for the steak as it had a horrible fishy aftertaste, on top of that it was the most chewy piece of meat I've ever encountered. To top it all off the starters took 45 minutes to arrive and all I ordered was garlic bread and the main took 1.5 hours, we were expecting to be there for 1.5 hours max but ending up taking 3.   We had probably the best meal here during our entire stay in Albufeira. The staff was truly professional and friendly. The value for money as well as the quality of our meals were amazing. I had a Garlic Bread starter, followed by a Grilled Seabass with New Potatoes and Salad. For desert I opted for Cream Cake and to drink I tried a glass of house red. All of this set me back by €13.99 My husband had a Pork Schnitzel with fries, rice and a very nice sauce. We tried a couple of cocktails as well which were also tasty and the bill came to €38 which is really good for what we had. However there was a long wait for food (restaurant was full) and when we returned for a second night we had a very uninterested waiter who didn’t want to be bothered with us.   It was our Anniversary whilst in Albufeira with friends so we tried Tasca and weren't disappointed. We sat inside at the table in the main photograph and were made very welcome by the staff. Excellent menu, lots of good choices and reasonsbly priced, none of us were disappointed in anyway with the food which was perfectly prepared and served.   We all ordered a single burger with fries but were given double burgers - also on the menu and more expensive. The server tried to say “double is the house burger”. Not according to the menu but we let it go. When we bit in, all 4 burgers were raw in the center and disgusting. When we finally flagged a server, 2 came over and didn’t seem to care the food was so undercooked. I spoke to the manager counting cash, he spoke to the server but not even an apology was given.   Myself and my family sat down outside the restaurant to order some food. It was around 4pm. I looked around to the entrance and saw a staff member standing there. He made eye contact and shook his head. I was confused as I wasn't sure what was going on.   Service was poor, waiter was very disinterested from the outset. We both ordered tornado steak - which was described on the menu as a fillet steak - it was the furthest from fillet steak I have ever seen. The meat was full of gristle - my first three mouthfuls went into my napkin. My partner complained to wait staff about how it was not a fillet of steak cut - he was told he should have ordered fillet steak if that’s what he wanted (despite the steak we ordered being described as fillet) - the staff were completely disinterested. The pepper sauce was gloopy and not pleasant.   This restaurant has an awful service. My husband and I with our kids were standing waiting without any host coming to explain to us if we are going to get seated or not for at least 30min. The whole time we were thinking they are busy and this is the wait. However another couple came and the host came and asked with the smile looking at the other couple how many in their party. We asked if they are ever going to seat us and only then he answer we don’t have enough seats so rudely.   We walked all over and tried a few different places in our short time here. Many had good service and a few good food. None were good value for money until we found this place.   After many dissapointong meals in Albuferia, we were pleasantly surprised with our experience at Alkhaz. Although there is a good menu selection, we opted for the prix fixe (€12.95). Our meals were tasty, generous portions and included a glass of wine/beer. I wish we had discovered this restaurant earlier into our holiday as we would have eaten here more than once.   This is a lovely traditional Portuguese restaurant just off the beach near to the "tunnel" it is very reasonable priced and the staff were great speaking lots of different languages. They serve plenty of traditional Portuguese cuisine. I had chicken peri peri and my wife had grilled sea bass, both dishes were nicely cooked. I would highly recommend for lunch or dinner as they’re both fairly cheap and affordable and portions are a good size and the food is decent.
