  We had lunch here today. We received a friendly welcome straight away. The atmosphere was OK but it was a bit cold and could have been more cozy. The menu is clear and concise. We chose the ceviche of the day and the scallops with black rice. Both dishes were excellent and the portion was perfect. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is good, even if it seems expensive. The quality is there. For dessert we tried the matcha pie which was also very tasty. I would eat here again.   The ceviche and octopus salad were full of onion. The ceviche is a really weird interpretation of the traditional recepie, it is with more onion than fish, sweet potatoes and crispy corn seeds. Absolutely not what we were expecting from a local fish restaurant. You can tell they adapted to the turism which is mainly composed of Germans and Austrians. Overpriced. Service was kind and fast.   Good food and not overpriced considering the quality and atmosphere. We had a bottle of sparkling wine, gyozas for starters, salmon with risotto and octopus with sweet potatoe, chocolate cake and expressos for close to 100€. The view to the ocean is just amazing and the waiter was kind enough to let us take a bigger table for better view even though we were only 2. Unfortunately we had to deal with “neighbors” with a noisy child (which was fully naked at the table ?!?!), but overall the experience was positive. Recommended. At first they were fully booked inside but because we were with child and it started to get a bit cold, they rearranged and when we ordered, the food came fast. Super friendly staff as well!!   Been several times. Really want to like it and keep hoping but…. Friendly service, orders taken promptly. Starters arrived at 10 minute intervals so we all ate them separately… The two cold starters being the last to arrive bizarrely. Plate of salmon cerviche beautifully presented but barely tasted of salmon. Cold tomato soup was excellent. All three mains arrived as final starter was still being finished. Come on guys, it wasn’t even that busy! Tuna tataki with strawberry and feta just an odd combination (for me) with a side bowl of super salty avocado and onion/soy which wasn’t particularly pleasant to eat. Cerviche of the day was essentially a bowl of tuna and onion, all a bit sloppy. Risotto was OK. Several of the glass table tops are cracked/broken. Beautiful location on Monte Clerigo but somewhat spoiled by filthy glass screening. Again, come on, one of the big selling points is the view/scenery so make an effort and clean the glass…. I think a lot of people seem to be impressed because the menu is a bit ‘different’ but actually a lot of the flavours combination sounds are just trying to hard and don’t especially work. Perhaps if they focussed on the basics it would be a better experience. It’s a shame because it could and should be so much better… (Traduzido pelo Google) Já estive várias vezes. Tataki de atum com morango e queijo feta apenas uma combinação estranha (para mim) com uma tigela de abacate super salgado e cebola/soja que não era particularmente agradável de comer. O Cerviche do dia era essencialmente uma tigela de atum e cebola, tudo um pouco desleixado. Risoto estava bem. Vários tampos de mesa de vidro estão rachados/quebrados. Bela localização em Monte Clérigo, mas um pouco estragada pela tela de vidro imundo. Mais uma vez, vamos lá, um dos grandes pontos de venda é a vista/cenário então faça um esforço e limpe o vidro…. Acho que muitas pessoas parecem impressionadas porque o menu é um pouco “diferente”, mas na verdade muitos dos sons da combinação de sabores estão apenas se esforçando e não funcionam especialmente. Talvez se eles se concentrassem no básico, seria uma experiência melhor. É uma pena porque poderia e deveria ser muito melhor…

  For almost 30€ , we received a portion of frozen salmon fillet with very big pot of risotto , if you are looking for a fresh fish restaurant this is definitely NOT the good address .   Fantastic place with the very best service and really delicious food. A fusion menu can always be a bit of a risk, so we went all over the world with this one. Portuguese beers (alcohol free), really amazing gyōzas, yummy pumpkin risotto (creative presentation), and a mushroom poke bowl that seemed too simple at first but turned out great.   Fantastic food. Red tuna belly sashimi and octopus was phenomenal. The chocolate cake was so good I forgot to take a picture. Staff is super friendly. We showed up at 6 but dinner only starts at 7.   We’ve been there already three times. Last year first time and came all the way from sagres. Maybe we had a bad timing or something changed. Sorry guys but it was dirty around, we lowered the music because a) too loud and b) different music in the kitchen and the waiter cranked it up again?! And When someone eats a starter give them a break before bringing the main course. We were not even finished and it came (same on all tables) already.   I probably came at an unfortunate time, around 1pm. There was only place inside. While waiting for my vegetable wook, which took 50 minutes to arrive, I asked to be seated outside as I saw free tables for 2 people, they said sorry, not possible. I sat patiently near the soundsystem, cutlery and other stuff. It was very noisy, the smell of the kitchen was intense, I observed dirt on the windows and floor, I was considering leaving without eating. I endured, the food wasn't that good either. So I paid 20 Euro incl tips, the staff apologized for the long wait. I was relieved to leave. This place is probably great for bigger groups.   One year later, I revisit this restaurant located at the beautiful Monte Cleribo. I remember the amazing tuna tataki along with the wonderful service I had one year ago. But no more. Something has changed. The food was still very good. But last time, it was better. So I would still applaud the kitchen, but what made this an unfortunate visit, came from the service. To say it as simply as I can, it sucked. Maybe the staff was overworked or had a bad day. To put it in perspective, I drove 50 minutes for this experience, so I have to say that tonight I was left with nothing but disappointment.. I would still recommend this place if you are in the neighbourhood. But know that it is quite expensive when you look at other restaurants around the Vincentine Coast and you could also risk disappointment along with an empty wallet. Better luck next time!   We visited the restaurant for dinner. The location is great. The small village is really cute. We got a table inside as we did not have reservations. The service was nice, but could take care more about keeping tables clean. The food was average. I had the tuna skewers with lemon rice. The tuna was nice but the rice was rather plain. All in all it tasted rather bland and was missing a twist. My friend was also not thrilled with her meal. A pleasant surprise was the chocolate cake which we shared for dessert.   I have been coming to this place for the past 10 months and every single time, they over deliver. The staff are incredibly friendly, the owner is helpful and the food is exceptional. Not once have we had a bad experience. The view is to die for and they are dog friendly! They also have a dessert menu which they can expertly match to signature cocktails.   2022 update: The dishes are still nice unfortunately not the gourmet level anymore. We also did not appreciated being served in the strange long and narrow plates. The portion of the salmon (with mushroom risotto) is way to small considering the price. There are those little changes as e.g. a different mango cheesecake tasting just average now that make the overall experience good but behind what we were used to. Before: Excellent meals, everything was super fresh and nice, surprised by quality of soft drinks (fresh made pineapple juice), wine/sangria and coctails. Solid selection of wines although they should have proper glass for red wine and know how to serve it. Very nice atmosphere. Go for octopus salad, seafood pasta / black scallops risotto (ask for extra lemon) and mango cheesecake. The menu mentions some ingredients but does not mention the presence of e.g. sesame seeds, nuts etc. You could always ask the waiter, with every dish you'd like to order but if there's a list of allergies and you forget to mention one... :-/ Since the menu is now an app, I hope they will change this for the futur.   Great view and location. Service was good. Food fell completely flat for me. While the presentation was great the taste was okay. I had the tuna takaki with a guacamole onion salad. The tuna was a great piece of fish but it was overall lacking flavor. The sauce that it came with was overall very salty. The guacamole salad was quite good. The dish itself was quite small and not very fiilling especially considering the price. My wife had the poke bowl which i tried later and it was okay.   It is a nice place for everyone who goes surfing and bathing as you can sit on wooden benches and chairs so that you can wear your wet clothes. But 12€ for a bowl of overcooked spaghetti that are not tasty at all is just too expensive. Staff did not really care about us either, they took our plates away without asking if we were finished.   Went here with 7 other people and a baby and honestly sat down at which ever restaurant could accommodate our group. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the high quality food on offer. We have been to many places in Spain and Portugal and were not expecting this quality of food at a restaurant right on the beach. If you are staying in this area I would definitely recommend this place for lunch while enjoying the beach throughout the day.   Some very mixed reviews here. I do see that many of the negative ones from from Portuguese nationals. Certainly if you're looking for cheap, very plain and simple traditional Portuguese; save your complains and your money and stick with obviously standard looking local restaurants, there's two others in Monte Clerigo alone to chose from. HOWEVER if you are looking for very interesting, very healthy and modern fresh food we found O Sargo a really nice discovery. The dishes were more what you might expect to find in cultural suburbs of Lisbon, Melbourne or Berlin etc. I think the chef's deserve a tip of the hat for putting some original and diverse tastes on the menu. Perhaps it's not the same old same old but very progressive. The Tuna Tataki was delicious. My wife enjoyed the seafood pasta and the ( previously badly reviewed) south east asian style ceviche was also very nice. No complaints here, on the contrary a big thumbs up. Friendly service.   I can't understand all the positive reviews of this place. I went here for lunch and ordered the cerviche with tuna which was completely inedible. The tuna was not fresh and was floating around in a sickly white foul smelling sauce. My girlfriend ordered grilled prawns but was served pre cooked cold prawns which smelled a bit off. Unfortunately later on she felt sick. I asked for my food to be taken back and was offered a replacement dish (I ordered an average tasting chicken wrap on par with most wraps you can buy in supermarkets). However the final bill included both dishes in the price. We had a rather undignified wrangle with the manager to get the dish taken off the menu. Really bad experience, yes the location and views are amazing but restaurants should not make this the sole selling point to the detriment of food. The experience ruined our day and as mentioned my girlfriend was also sick as a final parting gift. Avoid this restaurant.
