  The food was delicious! It became my favorite Syrian restaurant in Lisbon! Everyone was really friendly! The owner stopped by our table and he was very patient explaining all the options.   Amazing. Highlight of our trip - immediately became our favorite food spot and would recommend to anyone. Service was incredible, everyone was so friendly and took the time to get to know their customers. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food and dessert we got. We recommend getting the 3 appetizers mix (we got baba ganoush, muhamarra, and labneh) as well as the kibbeh. The chicken and lamb kebabs were delish and very flavorful, as was the lahme sanieh.   We were looking for a coffee place during our visit to Almada just across the river from Lisbon The place looked quaint so we stopped in. The owner was very accommodating and made us some fabulous Turkish coffee, the best we ever had. We are Vegan and figured there was nothing we could eat. When I went to pay the owner went through the menu. We thought we would take a chance. We were not disappointed!!! The falafel was the best we ever had. We also had the hummus and the bean dish with tahini. Very tasty!!! Service was great!!!! If ypu are on the other side of the river and want to try something different than Portuguese food, this is a must go. Halal food all the way. Plus point, they don't close between 4 to 7pm.   This was the best Syrian food I have ever had and would have never expected that to be in Cacilhas portugal!!! We got the meze mix (mutabal, hummus, muhammara). The muhammara was pleasantly surprising - with a tangy sweet taste which I loved (I’m used to very spicy 🤣) . We also got the zaatar manakish - and I love zaatar and this had a thick layer & delicious. The pita was so fresh not so thick not so thin just perfect. As the main, we ordered lahme sahnieh - and wow 10000…/10 . For drinks we got mint lemonade which was very refreshing. And they were so sweet and offered us dessert to taste and the date mamoul was so light and crumbly 😋 ! & The vibes of the place is so pleasant and homey with nice music and pretty lights.   We lived in the Middle East and miss the food. This was as good as anything we found in Abu Dhabi. We ordered a couple cold mezza and had the owner pick a few of the hot mezza for us. Everything was interesting and delicious! The bread was hot out of the oven, the hummus creamy and rich, the lamb flatbread perfectly crispy and decadent. One dish after the next hit the spot.   Based on the good reviews we came for a lunch with high expectations. Sadly they were not met. The staff was friendly but a bit confused. We ordered 1 salad, 1 starter, 3 main dishes. Unfortunately things came in a weird order: first the salad, then 2 of the drinks. The starter came AFTER the main dishes were served, with the explanation that it takes a bit longer to prepare (no one mentioned when we ordered). The remaining drink also only came after having gotten the main course. The main courses were okay, but nothing really amazing. Everything was a bit plain. There wasn't so much flavour. The starter and Fatush were probably the best things on the table The music was so loud and disturbing that we had to ask to turn it down in order to have a conversation.   I would have given this 4, but they actually have craft beer available (and with reasonable price also!), so 5 because of that. Didn't try the proper food, but soup and snack i had were fine, dessert was great. Service was a bit inexperienced, but she totally made it up with friendliness, and quickness. I would recommend Damasqino to anyone, we would certainly visit again when we are in Almada.   We discovered that place by chance while taking a walk, was so good to see a syrian place, we decided to try it out and we were very pleased, the staff is nice the owner is amazing, food is delicious, reasonably priced. And what I liked the most is the atmosphere especially the oriental music from all over the arab world which I was nostalgic to. Highly recommended.
