  A beautiful restaurant. Everything about it is tasteful, not just the food which was quite excellent. The decor, atmosphere, service and even the music (which was low but added to the relaxing armosphere), all paid atrention to detail.   As always the experience and atmosphere here was lovely. Welcomed by very pleasant staff with a welcome drink, the food was just excellent. Can recommend the starters Garlic Prawns, Mushrooms Parisiene, Caprese Salad, mains Steak on a stone, Monkfish kebab, Lamb shank and dessert Algarvian Trilogy. Definitely will be going back soon.   Couldn't fault, from the complimentary welcome glass sparkling wine to our food and Wine. Monkfish in bacon was excellent, as was the Curry prawns and fruit. It's definitely worth a visit.   Oh my!!! What a fabulous find of a restaurant! A little of the well beaten track of touristy places, this is a gem of a place, a calm and lovely atmosphere with a cozy front section and a garden terrace in the back that thankfully has an automated cover in the case of a rain shower ( which happened during our stay!). We loved our servers, one who we are sure is the owner, who gave us excellent advice about which wine would complement the delicious Cataplana (shellfish stew) dish we ordered. Our meal was phenomenal! I’m sure there were shellfish we’d never seen before in the Cataplana and we lived every mouthful of it! The Algarve fig cake with special liqueur to dip the cake in was also, in a word, phenomenal!!!!   We had an early dinner because we were going to an early concert. Not all of the menu was available at 17:00. But what we had was great. The bacon wrapped monkfish medallions were perfect. My wife raved about her mushroom entree. The wines we had by thd glass were great, and there was a splendid wine list by the bottle. The gentleman who waited on us knew the wine list very well. (I suspect he was a manager or owner.) They landed a spot on my favorites list. We look forward to going back at a more normal time and trying more of the menu.   Avoid at all times. The worst restaurant we have ever visited. On arriving ,the waitress walked straight past me ,without even acknowledging . When I asked if we could get a table for 4 ,she told us to come back in 30 mins . As we were leaving ,the manager asked if we were looking for a table ,he then got us a table . We had to wait 90 mins on our food 😩, when it came it was lukewarm !! my husbands was tasteless. The food actually came at different stages. At no time ,did anyone ask if we were happy . I didnt like to complain, as we were with company. The restaurant was really busy ,but looking back ,there were very tables actually eating. The table beside us ,said they had been waiting 150 mins .   The couvert were amazing, fresh and tasty. Sadly the 'Cataplana' was not authentic and between two persons had only 8 clams with some white fish.   Beautiful restaurant with a very fresh fish. The starter, an octopus salad with pepper and carrots was good but not unbelieveble. The main course, the "suculenta cataplana", a sort of fish soup for two people with clams, moussels, monkfish, crab and prawns, was amazing, very tasteful and rich of flavours. The price was fair, 48€ per person with also a bottle of a good local wine, a bottle of water and some olives. Anyway the waiting time for the cataplana was too long, about one hour!   First time visiting the restaurant. The menu was extensive but quite expensive. We had rump steak but asked for it to be cooked before it came to the table rather than on the hot stone. It wasn’t cooked when it came to the table so was sent back, unfortunately we then didn’t eat our meal together. We also had large tiger prawns with rice. I asked for a side order of tomato salad. Meal was served with no rice and I got a mixed salad instead of the tomato salad I’d ordered, however the prawns were delicious. The Restuarant was pleasant enough, would I go back, yes if I was in the area but I will go to my regular restaurants rather than come here.   Very nice courtyard and nice ambiance. Very good service. We had the cold mixed tapas shared as our starter for 2. All were very tasty. 1 main course of salmon and one of seafood spaghetti.   I wouldn’t recomend this restaurant. Me and my family waited one and half an hour for our meals even though restaurant was empty (beside us only 5 other customers).   This is a fantastic restaurant but really difficult to get into if you don't have a booking. We queued for about half an hour to eventually get a table at 10pm. The best tables are out the back on the outdoor terrace. The staff are excellent, very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the cataplana for two, the solefish with prawn rice and the monkfish with prawns in a creamy tropical sauce. All delicious, all cooked to perfection.   After accidently finding this place due to other restaurants being fully booked, what a find! They fitted us in at the front of the restaurant. Staff there were amazing!   Excellent experience. Can't recommended highly enough. A big party of 8 adults and 4 young kids without a booking were catered for with no fuss and great service in a intimate "hidden" courtyard. All the more impressive because the restaurant was busy. From the complimentary welcoming drink from the owner to the food we had was some of the best we had in Portugal.   Awesome portugese restaurant. Super original cuisine to get the local taste. We went there twice and ate the seafood cataplana Which contains shells shrimps and a whole crab. Super tasty.   I have eaten here many times over the years and have generally been happy with the food and service. However, on 8th Oct I was served a T bone steak which I can honestly say was the worst steak I have ever paid for. For the price I would have expected a bigger steak and although it was cooked as requested to medium, the steak was of very poor quality and totally tasteless. I informed the waiter of my concern, (he declined the offer to taste the steak), he shrugged his shoulders and walked away with total disregard for my complaint. I would assume that the steak was frozen at some stage, for a very long time! I left over half of the steak on the plate and left without leaving a tip. I know I should have perused the matter with the management but I had arranged to meet with friends and needed to leave. The next evening I ate a fantastic juicy and tasty steak at another restaurant on the same street for around 10 euros less than the tasteless offering at the Adega. To sum up, zero customer service and very poor quality meat. I shall be reluctant to return.   Adega d'Alvor is a fantastic restaurant, we sat in the outdoor area out the back which is nice and cool in hot summer evenings. The staff were very friendly and greeted us with two glasses of sparkling wine. We had our 8 month old daughter with us and the staff were very accommodating. I got the Algarvian fish soup to start and tiger prawns with stir fried rice for main course, both were delicious and I would get them again. My wife got the monkfish and prawns in tropical sauce, this was really good and my daughter even tried the monkfish and loved it. Overall I would definitely return and would recommend this restaurant to anybody visiting Alvor.   Possible one of the best restaurants we have ever eaten in...It came highly recommended to us from friends, we were greeted with a lovely glass of punk champagne, the food was outstanding I had the prawn cocktail for starters and it was one of the nicest I have ever had, I then had the monkfish wrapped in bacon words cannot describe how amazing it was, my sister had the salmon and it was absolutely delightful, our children had the chicken and it was beyond tender, my husband had the steak on the stone and he said it was so tender it was like butter, so all in all we all had a great experience and will be going back...5 stars all round and well worth a visit if your ever in Alvor...   Service was good. Good atmosphere. Wine was from an an open bottle (house wine), but tasted like cork. Grilled steak should have been medium, was well done and dry.   Fantastic find in the middle of Alvor. Book ahead if you want a table in their garden room. We had the Seafood cataplana to share and it was absolutely superb. Service also great.   Sometimes we get surprised by a place. This restaurant is one of these places. Food is simply amazing I had ' arroz de marisco' and I can ensure it was the best one I had, even comparing with places that are known for it. The restaurant itself is located in a old small winery well recovered, so it kept the original architecture. Staff is always there and very efficient. There is a menu for kids as well.   We walked past this restaurant many times and didn't venture in as we wanted a "lighter" lunch, but today we were there on an invite and it was fabulous. A great environment for a small lunch but also great for a big group. We were 16 and had pre-booked so the choice was small but the food excellent. A lovely environment, inside the roof can be rolled back. Great service from a very good team I had pork fillet and it was tender, juicy, perfectly cooked with a great selection of vegetables. My wife had salmon fillet (about twice as big as you would imagine) with lemon butter and veg. Very well cooked and very tasty. These mains were served after the usual olives, carrots, tuna dip (home made & great tasting) & bread (wide selection) covers, also with great prawns and Aoli dip. A super tasty fish soup (no seafood for those with allergies) followed. Dessert was served in the form of 5 typical algarvean sweets, all tasty and finished off with good coffee. Copious amounts of red or white house wine washed it all down. For me the test is always "would I go again" and the answer for this restaurant is a strong yes. We can't wait to go and try out the regular menu. Um ambiente encantador, dentro do telhado pode ser revertido. Ótimo serviço de uma equipe muito boa Comi filé de porco e estava macio, suculento, perfeitamente preparado com uma grande seleção de vegetais. Minha esposa comeu filé de salmão (cerca de duas vezes maior que você imagina) com manteiga de limão e vegetais. Muito bem cozinhado e muito saboroso. Estes pratos principais foram servidos depois das habituais azeitonas, cenouras, molho de atum (caseiro e de excelente sabor) e coberturas de pão (ampla selecção), também com óptimos camarões e molho Aoli. Seguiu-se uma sopa de peixe super saborosa (sem frutos do mar para quem tem alergia). A sobremesa foi servida na forma de 5 doces típicos algarvios, todos saborosos e finalizados com um bom café. Grandes quantidades de vinho da casa tinto ou branco acompanharam tudo. Para mim o teste é sempre “eu iria de novo” e a resposta para este restaurante é um forte sim. Mal podemos esperar para experimentar o menu normal.

  This place is not able to serve customers once it is get full on saturday night. We had to wait for an hour to get our main course and some starters have been merely forgotten. Having asked staff several times we got only false promises. No one appologized for such a poor service. I would strongly recommmend not to risk your evening and pick other great places for dinner.   Great restaurant, great staff, fast service and beautiful garden restaurant. Ordered the big fish platter and some smaller dishes, which were all amazing fresh quality and served up pretty quickly. Great service, smiling and helpful staff. Was here during the day when it's pretty calm, but in the evening it's the same quality, just more crowded. Would recommend making a reservation when eating here in the evening. During the day you can pretty much just walk in.
