  Went for a walk from Portimão to Alvor. While there we decided to have a quick lunch at Restinga Ria. It has quickly become one of our favorite spots for several reasons. Great location, easy to find parking, fast service, fresh and delicious food and most of all, they made us feel like family. As I mentioned, we were walking so just a quick lunch. We each ordered a bottle of water and their spin of a "club" sandwich. Special sauce, chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and a sliced egg on a soft crusty bun. Sooo good.   We arrived to enjoy the view and have a coffee plus something to eat. I asked the waiter if it would be okay to sit and he shouted at me and said I must do what I want but I would have to wait as they were busy. Firstly, there was no need to speak to me in such a rude manner and Secondly I did not ask to be served straight away and they were not hectically busy. This is not the first time.   I stopped in alone after a walk to get a drink and see the menu. Maybe as I was alone the waiter did not want me there. I asked for a bottle of water to quench my thirst and then expected a menu to come. No water, no menu, no interaction. My first negative experience in Portugal and disappointed that I was made to feel so unwelcome. I left.   Disappointing, overpriced food. The fish as it didn't look fresh, so paid €20 for a burger. It would have been nice if it had been homemade. The ketchup and mayonnaise came in sealed pouches, almost impossible to open. The waitress dismissed my plea for help with a wave of her hand - not her problem. We won't be going there again.   Amazing !! Loved the food. We had fish of the day sea bass, and gorgeous roasted vegetables. The fish was cut up to take the bones out which was lovely. The service was slower but it was busy.   The slowest coffee I ever ordered. I don't mind soaking up the sun and views but 25mins for a three coffee order. We were seated outside I had to go looking for the staff three times after we ordered each time a different person answered yes its coming. The staff were wandering all over the place it wasn't that busy they looked like they were busy but if you watch them they weren't actually doing much. The food was very good, the service inside was awful, Waiter quite rude and clearly did not care. Despite those two good dishes, would not care to stop here again. Edited on February 2024.   This place has the BEST service I have ever had for a long time! The girls from the morning shift were welcoming, accommodated and nothing was a problem for them. I have just get to this restaurant by chance and I have just love it! The location is amazing, specially to see the sunset from the terrace! Sunday morning is the farmer´s market in Alvor, so you buy your fruits and vegetables and go to Restinga Ria for breakfast. I really like their custard pies. They are arguably the best in Algarve.   We decided to sit down as we passed by. The setting is lovely. We ordered tapas which was nice and filling - lots of it for a great price. I think the main menu food would have been nicer but the tapas was the quick and easy food we were looking for. What made it for us was the lovely waiter, who had previously lived in Ireland- which we had great chats about. He seemed to know lots of languages - including some Irish phrases which was lovely.   Dinner was very good! Seafood spaghetti is rich and very tasty and so were the amêijoas but the best plate was the fish fillets. Fish was so fresh! The glass of white wine and desserts also very good. Staff very attentive, polite and helpful.   After a long walk along the beach we came back into Alvor via the lovely boardwalk and came to this restaurant/bar.   Fantastic restaurant right on the sea front . Lovely to sit and have a drink and watch the world go by or have a meal as we did . The waiters were very attentive and really looked the part . My wife had the seafood spaghetti , plenty of seafood but a lack of sauce let it down , but she did enjoy it . I had a rare fillet steak with a mushroom sauce on the side and it was perfection .
