  Good food but the dish I ordered had too much seasoning. I had the braised tuna steak which was perfectly cooked but had too much soy sauce 😕. The almond and ginger rice was perfect. Noelia is a very funny and friendly person, we had a few laughs at the end of the meal when she approached to ask for our opinion of the meal.   I had a lovely time here. The only thing is that there are tooooooo many flies and mosquitos. The owners don't provide any product to keep them at bay.   We were excited to discover the restaurant was helmed by Chef Noélia and promptly made a reservation. Sadly, our experience fell short of our expectations. While the food was delightful, the service was lacking, even when compared to some 1-star establishments. Upon arrival, we were seated, but then largely ignored. Ordering became a challenge, and even when our appetizers were served, they were rushed to make room for the main courses, leaving our table cluttered with dishes. Moreover, the absence of a changing station in the restroom meant we had to resort to changing our child's diaper outside on the stroller. Overall, despite Chef Noélia's esteemed reputation, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. I'm hesitant to return or recommend it to others.   Ok food but very poorly organised. Table reservation does not work properly. Showing up for a table at the door doesn’t work either. You’re in for a significant amount of time, with people not respecting the line and the restaurant staff not making an effort to manage it (it’s even ridiculous the amount of tables available for general public, less than 20 sitting seats). As usual, in any pretentious place, if you’re a friend or a celebrity they can always squeeze someone in. All and all the food was ok but pricy. Location is great though.   I recently ate here and I enjoyed it very much. The food was excellent and the place gave off a casual yet sophisticated vibe. However, the Seabass Rice in the Oven with Prawns let me down as the rice was far too salty. That being said, the seabass was perfectly cooked. The service was adequate, but the waiter forgot to give a second fish soup entrée and when we did order, it took a while to arrive.   The food is delicious and definitely worth coming here. Strong recommendation for the fish soup, the octopus pataniscas and the lemon rice with claims and fish. The first service (19h00) can be considerably noisy both inside but it gets a bit more quiet later during the night. Lazy service (seriously the waitresses don’t care about you and for you to make your order takes ages until someone actually listens to you) and the food is nothing spectacular.   Great food, awful service. The owner actually cooks very well, but maybe she thinks that appearing on a tv show makes her special in some way. It doesn't. When I go to a restaurant, it's not just about food. It's the whole experience. I've had better experiences in cheap taverns. It is always a choice. The owner thinks that she's a chef, but being a chef is so much more than being a good cook. Overall, it was just an overpriced good food. There are much better choices to eat and have a good time.   We had a lovely meal at Noelia. Three courses each with wine and port to finish. Marinated scallops were packed full of flavour (starter) and the fried prawns (starter) were juicy and plump. I went for the squid main, which was cooked to perfection. The whole sea bass was also very well cooked. Both served with sweet potatoes. Dessert was lovely. The salted caramel mouse and orange polenta cake were delicious. The wine list was extensive with something for all palates. We went for the house green wine, which was light and crisp.   This is one of the best restaurants in Portugal, the quality of the food, especially fish and seafood and the creativity of the dishes is just outstanding. The cuttlefish black rice with truffled ham and the seabass with mango gaspacho were some of the best creations I have ever tried. However, booking a table is a nightmare (they don't pick up the phone), and service can be very poor and arrogant (our waiter was tragic). But overall still definitely worth a visit to a legendary restaurant. You would find this kind of cuisine in fine restaurants in the major cities for $$$. But here it’s in a quiet, out of the way place and popular with locals.   Space/Service: The space is small and very noisy. The gentleman who served us was unable to smile or show sympathy to someone who had traveled many kms for that meal. Food: A braised tuna that arrived to the table cold. We thought the whole dish was poorly done, too sweet and cloying (mango and ginger rice to go with cold, soft tuna). Baked rice with sea bass and prawns. The rice was so salty that the fish tasted like nothing. The service, space and food are far from justifying the prices. In the Algarve, you can eat the same kind of food, much better prepared, for much less. I don't usually give reviews on Google or other sites, I usually give feeback in person at the restaurant when asked if everything was ok. Something none of the staff bothered to ask. Here's our opinion. I'm surprised by all the fame and avalanche of positive comments about this restaurant, which makes me believe that it was just a bad day for them and we were unlucky. Or not. Algo que nenhum dos funcionários se preocupou em perguntar. Aqui está a nossa opinião.   Not my thing. Fish soup - not a big deal. Dory fried fillet - excellent. Bread soup - horrible. Dessert - horrible and with way too much "cosmetics". like a caramel painting and cinnamon, in a supposedly traditional Algarve cake that would need none of that. Service was good but one of the waiters had a haughty attitude that didn't seat well on me. What impressed me the most (negatively) was having to ask for a cooler because they don't know to keep red wine at proper temperature. Way too expensive for what they're delivering.   The food is a few levels above anything else you can find around there. So is the price. The “pataniscas de polvo” are well done, tasty, crispy. The lemon rice is rich in fish and I love the taste. In general, the rices are very well done. Service is fine. They are generally too busy to spend time with you, but are reasonably responsive. You need to book a long time ahead to get a table. For July and August it can be close to impossible. June and September are better. Still hard to “just show up”, unless you are incredibly lucky. Overall, very pleasant dining experience, particularly compared with nearby alternatives. Can easily be 40-60 euro per person. For me, it is worth it.   We visited the restaurant as it was recommended to us by various friends. Sadly our experience was horrible. We waited over 10min just to be given a menu, offered water, drinks etc. Then again Waited really long time, aprox 30-40min for main course to arrive. When the dish finally arrived, it (lemon, fish and clam rice) was a disaster. Way to lemony. We have spoken to the waiter throughout our meal that we don't really enjoy it and find it too acid. The waiter response was "OK that's your opinion!" Really? How about offering something else instead? What a horrible customer service. The same comments came from other tables around us. Finally after we paid the bill and were leaving different waiter approach us and said that they have spoken to the kitchen and agree that it was too acid. We will not return.   I got no doubts the food should be amazing but the reservation service is anything but professional and acceptable. In January I tried to book a table for 4 via email (as no one responded to calls), I was then told (via email) they were on Annual Leave and the reservations could only be made 15 days in advance. Today, 26th July, I called again to make a reservation for Tuesday 9th August and was then told that they were fully booked until 26th August. How can it be, if the bookings are made 15 days in advance??? Do they select their customers? Are they plenty of customers so they can just ignore others? Anyway, in my Country we use to say they must have “o Rei na barriga”. We’ll, doesn’t matter I do wish them the best, although I’ll not become their customer at all!   What started out as a possible bad experience turned into a rather pleasant one. The man who served us could not care less about us, we later found out it was a common thing and the rest of the staff was amazing (we decided to start asking for help with other staff). We ordered fish soup for starter and octopus for main. After a few minutes we were told fish soup wasn’t available and neither was octopus! In a fish restaurant?? We ordered red prawns and avocado which was incredible for our starter … why no fish soup?? The red snapper and prawn Cataplana was beautiful but arrived literally a second after we finished our starter. We felt like we shouldn’t be there and very rushed. We arrived at 7pm and were out before 8pm. Not thehappy experience it has always been.   We’re not usually plan ahead, make a reservation type people, but the owner of our hotel recommended this place so we figured ‘what the heck.’ And am I glad we did!   The food is absolutely fantastic! For starter, I had the oyster carpaccio which is served with a dash of caviar and samphire, and definitely recommend that. For main course I tried the rice with lemon sauce, clams and meagre which was absolutely divine. My husband had the John Dory with a coriander rice which was fantastic! For dessert, I totally recommend the tiramisu or the D. Rodrigo mousse (local délicatesse) . The only thing that fell a little short was the service, which often forgot our table, and that is the reason for the 4 star out of 5. Otherwise, it would have been the perfect experience! They overbook and everybody shows up at the same time and has to queue. The management of the restaurant consider their food is so good that it's worth the wait.   We had high expectations for Noelia so we booked a table for dinner for 20:30 they told us 19:30 or 21:30. We got there 21:30 sharp they told us that our table was being occupied for some people they already paid but were still talking didn't leave and they couldn't do anything.   The food is decent. The lemon rice is indeed very tasty and I highly recommend it. The interior is tasteful. Although we had no reservation, we managed to get a table because we were there at opening time, the place filled very rapidly after that and remained very busy during our time there. The service however is simply not good enough for a place like this. For Portuguese standards, it is expensive (€125 for 3 people), service was inattentive and distracted, waiting times for food were too long, and the dishes of different people arrived too far apart to enjoy warm food all together. There were enough waiters and they responded to our calls quick enough, but took too long to deliver what we asked for. TLDR: Decent food, but service should be improved.   It's a nicely located place very close to the coast where the most recommended dishes are the sea food ones. Despite all the good reviews and also the awards they have, I didn't find the restaurant that amazing. For me it was only an average-good meal. I was a little disappointed when some of the fish in the rice was raw. We told the waiter and I wasn't happy with their solution: She told us to put the food back in the pot so they could cook a bit more. She should have done that after apologizing, which she didn't. When I see a restaurant with an award I expect a quality service and this time I couldn't see that. It's excessive overpopularity has resulted in rude/brusque service, will be booked up weeks in advance in the summer months and if you try to wait for a table, you'll be waiting for hours. From my experience tonight, for which we'd booked 2 weeks ago, the bread was stale, food was by no means special and severely overpriced for what you receive. The restaurant is so packed that you cannot hear yourself speak, gets far too hot from the amount of customers in there, resulting in me spending my dinner waiting for the next plate to arrive so I could eat and get outside.   The food in this place is excellent (order the Lemon Rice with fish) and the atmosphere is great, but that's where the good part ends. I arrived at 19:20 and didn't get my good until 21:35. Looooong wait for a table and slow service. The staff wasn't great and my order got messed up (I didn't bother to reorder, just ate what I got).   I feel bad for the people who had bad experiences because ours was exceptional. This place came recommended by a Portuguese friend who said it's the best restaurant in the Algarve. We were lucky to have gotten there at 6:45pm to get a table outside as the inside was fully booked and outside is first come first serve. We ordered a lovely bottle of local white wine and the recommended dish: lemon rice with croaker and clams. It arrived in a huge pot and it was a lot of food but we ate it all! The fish was very fresh and the broth was flavourful from the clams with the perfect amount of lemon. Clearly all the ingredients were local and fresh (most things on the menu had clams or octopus... all locally-sourced). Our waiter was the nicest young Portuguese man who spoke perfect English. Almost all of the patrons there were Portuguese. In fact, there were over 30 people waiting for tables when we left! So my advice would be to book a table in advance (but you'll only get a table inside) or get a table outside before all the locals eat dinner - at 6:30 when they start dinner service. O nosso garçom era o jovem português mais simpático que falava inglês perfeitamente. Quase todos os clientes eram portugueses. Na verdade, havia mais de 30 pessoas esperando por mesas quando saímos! Portanto, meu conselho seria reservar uma mesa com antecedência (mas você só conseguirá uma mesa dentro) ou conseguir uma mesa fora antes que todos os moradores jantem - às 6h30, quando eles iniciam o serviço de jantar.

  We had high expectations for Noelia but were disappointed with the food. We started with clams which were good. Then, we ordered grilled fish (dourada) which was very small, dry and badly grilled. This is a hard to fail dish, assuming that the fish quality is good, so it's not excusable. We also ordered fish fillets (filetes de peixe galo) which were salty and dry, you could barely taste the fish inside. Together with wine we payed 70 euros (2 people meal) which is extremely expensive for what we got. The staff was very friendly, so my score reflects the disappointment with the food.   Quite unimpressed with this place I have to say. While the waitresses were very kind and polite and willing to ask the chef(s) to accommodate for us, the kitchen had other ideas. On their menu, they have seasonal fruits, yet were unable to serve us a fruit salad. When asked about a children's menu, they had no options and when we asked if they could serve a half portion of pasta with only sauce, they served us the full portion with cheese etc. One of the dished served to us came with not one but two chips in the plate, and some of the glasses were chipped at the base, too. Keep in mind this was a party of 6 and we were spending quite a lot on this meal between starters, mains and drinks. The food may have tasted alright but I certainly won't be eating here again.
