  Great view, nice garden and atmosphere. Beef fillet skewer was fine. But in my opinion, the quality of the sides is superior in other restaurants in the area. See the pictures attached. Milho/Fries look low quality frozen product. Salad was also not as good as other espetada restaurants. Overall I recommend the place but it could improve.   Dissapointed !We eat here today a year ago, and year before we came here.. Sadly they have changed a menue , took out a bacon wrapped pork and few other items that we enjoyed before. When we asked about it, we were told it took too long to cook it?! Seriously, if that is popular item in menue !!! Chicken is no longer grilled on stick, where you could taste a fire grilled flavor . They cook chicken in almost indian type spices and sauce & then put on stick. However, the sauce they cooked it in is so overwhelming- there is absolutely no fire grilled taste because of that sauce. If I wanted that flavor of chicken- we would go to Indian restaurant ! Very disappointed & not going there for dinner again anytime soon. Some local people complained same experience.   Really great selection of the meat dishes. A bit on the “steak” and beef side of selection; however you will also find something for the kids and veggie guys. Neverthless the taste of their stakes is on quite high level, even the skewers chicken is phenomenal. Selection of starters (liver, meatballas, season salads…) is good; the house red wine is price/performance 5 stars👍. So if you like meat - do visit!   i would recommend this place for the meat. Excellent meat quality and taste. Sad that I had to seat myself, grab the menus myself and figure out what everything was.. Probably was just a bad day, but the sides were tasteless. I didn’t even wanted to stay to check if they had deserts. Edit: I had a very light hand here so I came back to make it right.. you see, I had to get my order to de computer because the waiter didn’t go to the table in a considerable space of 20 minutes.. so I was REALLY pissed off..   Just a brilliant place. The service was really friendly with a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and on the terrace in the sun. The food was superb, especially the fries with fresh garlic. Sirloin on a stone was juicy and tender and the chicken on a skewer was very tasty and a lot of meat for €10.50.   What has happened to this place??? A year or two ago when we first visited they served really tasty, masterfully cooked meat and we loved this restaurant. Revisited today, and what a disappointment! 'Traditional' skewer was half inedible, little meat with thick layers of fat. House wine was just bad, a cheapest supermarket bottle would taste better (whilst their price per glass was not cheap). Sides are overpriced in my view and some are way too large (why make me pay for the portion I am unable to eat, half of which would go to waste?)   This is probably the most difficult review i made until now. This place looks really nice, the services are very good but there is a problem. This is not a standard restaurant with some regular dishes. I ordered in A Poita, a restaurant near Magdalena do Mar some 5 euro steak that was simple and predictible in a way. I ordered some skewer in Vila da Carne. I was expecting the regular meat but instead I got something with a lot more fat than I was imagining. It was very difficult for me to eat it and the experience was pretty nasty.but I can't really blame the restaurant for it... It is rather my problem because usually I don't eat meat and whenIi do it i expect the traditional German schnitzel without any fat or other strange things.. So.. It worth visiting Vila da Carne? Yes, if you are a meat lover and you really know what you ask and what to expect. If not, it might be a surprising experience.   This place is the place to go if you're a meat lover like me! They sat us at a table right in front of where they cook the meat. we got two sqewers, one filet and one picanha. Both were absolutely delicious,and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The meat was tender and juicy, and flavoured to perfection. It was so good I took some steaks home to cook up the next night at my bnb. If you're looking for a different culinary experince from what you can get at most other places, I would highly recommend this place. All of the food including the appetizers, and sangria was amazing. We did not make a reservation, but we went on a Tuesday evening. I can see this place being absolutely jammed on a weekend, or suring the summer, as the food is worth every euro you spend.   I ordered a dry aged rib-eye (€40+, 380gr), medium rare, got it well done that had several cuts in the fat cap and all the juices were running out of the steak. Then talked to the server that my steak was overcooked after cutting into it and showing him the grey meat. They then took the steak and after 5 minutes they told me that they agreed that my steak was well done and not as I ordered it. They said they will re-fire the steak and it will be ready in like 3-4 minutes, after 15 minutes I got a 1cm thick grey slice of rib-eye, no grill marks, fat not rendered and also had a raw slice of tomato and a raw pepper on the plate. By this time my sides were already cold and the drinks were empty. I then accepted the fate of this dinner and that the chef took it personally, ate the partly rare, blue and raw slice of beef and left. The view was nice but was shadowed by the smoke and the smells of the steak cooked on a hot stone of the neighboring table, to be fair we were seated outside, so it was not too much of a nuisance. The place was about 25% seated. I would not recommend coming here, overrated and overpriced. Aceitei então o destino deste jantar e que o chef o levou para o lado pessoal, comeu a fatia de carne parcialmente mal passada, azul e crua e foi embora. A vista era bonita, mas era sombreada pela fumaça e pelos cheiros do bife cozido em uma pedra quente da mesa vizinha, para ser justo, estávamos sentados do lado de fora, então não era muito incômodo. O local estava cerca de 25% sentado. Eu não recomendaria vir aqui, superestimado e caro.

  I would like to recommend this restaurant because of its great kitchen. We had a beef and it was prepared great, everything was very tasty. As a weakness I see maybe the staff. The differences between the waiters were big. At the end, after maybe 45 minutes of waiting for payment (I had a bill on my table) I went into the restaurant to pay. No apologize.   The meat was decent, the skewers a bit dry. We ordered vegetables, which we thought were grilled. We got boiled, watery tasting, soggy veggies instead, not something you would expect from a nice restaurant. When complaining, they took away the veggies and we got a salad instead. We were charged for both sides, and they refused to take the veggies off the bill. We were not planning on writing a review at all as the food was mediocre, but seeing how they handled food complaints, we had to write something, as they became rude and defensive.   We came for dinner there today,food vas excellent but the service needs some attention. The waiter who was serving us just left the menu in the corner of the table without a word and when he brought us portuguese tapas instead of explaining what the food is he simply put each plate on the table following with: 'you have this, this and this. Nobody bothered to ask how the food was until we almost finished. Otherwise very nice with a beautiful view over the village.   Superb meat, quite the best I've ever eaten. We ate here three times during our recent visit to Camara de Lobos. The free taxi service is a big plus.   My Girlfriend and I were here vor Valentines day. The restaurant has a beautiful view and is very nice and clean. But unfortunately we were quite unhappy with the service. There were many guests, so the waiters had a lot to do. But when our waiter took the orders and my girlfriend had a question about the menu he didn't pay attention and also didn't bring everything we ordered. When asking for a coffee I had to ask three times and it took way too long. The waiter also didn't ask if we wanted our meat well done or medium or rare. It came rare and my girlfriend was dissatisfied. The people in the kitchen were very friendly and the food and price overall were good. But our 2 waiters were out of all the other restaurants we tried on our 3 week holiday the most inattentive which made us feel a bit uncomfortable. We still gave a generous Tipp because the men and women in the kitchen were very nice. But our waiters really didn't do a good job.   The interior, the view are very nice. But the service is quite unpleasant for the toilet you need a torch and the Espetada Regional was the worst experience I had on Madeira. The meat was so tough that I needed to chew each peace for 5 min.   Me and my partner ordered the espatada on the skewer and the filet of steak on stone, alongside sweet potato and maize Sides. Overall, the quality of the food and the price you pay was unreal (especially compared to English prices). For a similar experience and quality in England you would have easily paid double and not necessarily got the quality. We did have one of our sides wrongly served but this was quickly resolved. The Poncha’s were a little on the pricey side but nothing extortionate, we did not order these so cannot comment on the quality. To conclude I would highly recommend this restaurant for any meat lovers (side note, was great to see a roaring log fire in the kitchen and the raw meet hanging up in the fridge).   Excellent value, great location and delicious meals. We shared tapas and garlic bread to start, then had 2 skewers with jacket potatoes and chips for main. It was a lot of food but we just about managed to eat it all. Meat was an excellent quality. Dips and oils also delicious. I really enjoyed the 80s music playing in the background! Make sure you check if your meal comes with a side because it isnt always mentionned. We ordered potatoes as a side but could ve easily passed on that.   We ate twice here. Once in Vila Do Piece and another time in Vila Do Carne. First time we were disappointed by the garnitures...very loud, and faux filet that my son had was overcooked and dry. The garnitures had some much garlic's...that you could not taste anything else. Second time we had some meat on the hot stone..by the time the servers brought up the stone to the table, there were not hot enough to sir the meat...we saw the stone coming out of the cooking area and being left waiting for more than 10 minutes until the side dishes were ready. It was a 13:00 hour with 4 tables. Clearly, bad services and bad management.....with no boss's around. Real disappointed...and with no reaction from the servers after telling them. Who cares? right!   Beautiful setting for this restaurant, looking down on the fishing village of Camara de Lobos, because of the lack of foreign tourists at the moment we were the only people in here. Safety measures are in place. Our food was delicious, I opted for pork shoulder steak and my husband had a Espetada, he asked for well done, the waiter said if it's not well done enough he would take it back. It wasn't so sure enough he took it back and got it cooked for longer. On the second try the meat was cooked very nicely for our liking. Nothing was too much trouble for the team here. Reading the other reviews, it looks like we were unlucky with the service. It took half an hour to take our order, and an hour (from when we arrived) to receive our food. We also received the wrong order the first time, which was quickly corrected, and had to ask twice for sauces as our waiter had forgotten. All small things, but added up to a mediocre experience.   Yesterday we had dinner here for the second time. The first time was so nice that we decided to eat there again on the last evening of our vacation in Madeira and it turned out even better than the first time because we knew what was really great. The skewers with beef filet are just awesome, together with the fries and a glas of red wine (or two) WOW.
