  There is NO view of the sunset sadly The restaurant is nestled in a beautiful rocky cove by the ocean. Specializing in grilled dishes mostly. Had a great piri piri and shrimps in garlic. My partner had the portabello mushroom dish and enjoyed it. Their house white wine was really good we got a bottle.   That was, without a doubt, the best grilled salmon I ever had. And I do eat salmon pretty often. My gf had the grilled sea bass, pretty good but the salmon was better. This is not a cheap restaurant, if you're on a budget, don't go here. If you can afford to spend a bit more, you really want to try this.   We were greeted normaly. The waitress (young girl blond hair in a knot) was unfriendly (no eye contact, no talking). Our seats were located next to the Staffs room/toilet. So if the wind was right you would get that nice sniff of piss every now and then. The food was alright but nothing special. The view would have been really nice, if the seats would not be directly next to the toilet and the austern shell dumb. There was one nice waitress I want to mention (tall, blond, curly hair). She was super friendly. We where casually clothed and we are mid 20's. I dont know if they judge by the cloth and age what seats and treatment u will get, but it seemed so.   I am a black woman. I went here on a recent trip and was sorely disappointed at the fact that every other table (full of white people) were served first while I was kept waiting. Even the white people who sat down after me immediately were served and received their menus. I had to get up and ask for mine no one ever came to my table. One girl in particular with long brown hair refused to help me unless I went directly to her. I even called her over to try to place my order and she told me to wait while she ran over to take a second order from a white couple (I hadn’t even had a chance to place one order.) Someone did run over after they saw I was visibly annoyed at this and after that I got some service, but I shouldn’t have to make it clear that I’m upset to get some service.   This is a tourist trap at best. The staff obviously is trying but seem overworked and mistreated. We waited over 2 hours for a simple lunch. The staff said the kitchen was in chaos and that was delaying everything. There are a ton of other places in the area with amazing views and good food. Go somewhere else….   I got lucky having lunch at Boneca Bar. Despite being told they don't take reservations, they actually took a phone call for one when I arrived. We got there just as it opened and were instructed to choose any table once they finished setting up. Ordering took a bit of time, but it was entertaining to see the line at the nearby Boneca Cave grow rapidly - it even extended across the patio! The food, cooked on an open grill, was a delightful surprise in its taste. Though I wish it were less crowded, I suppose this place is always bustling. Bon appétit! I certainly enjoyed mine.   The bartender manager was rude and shamed us for going to a table before it was cleaned. We were four adults and a four year old. We sincerely apologized but he remained miffed and we were not waited on for 15 minutes. We were put in time out! A female server noticed us and our experience was greatly improved by her kindness and professionalism. The food was good too. The scenery is spectacular!   Superb place to eat, only place to dive into the wonderful experience of Portuguese Piri piri chicken as far as we are concerned. If you eat it here, you'll never be disappointed. We spoke with Bernardo, the man in the know who was captaining this ship(restaurant) today. We told him we had been eating here since 1996 but on looking it up it was April 2002. Anyway this is, in our opinion, one of the best places for a relaxed lunch on a sunny afternoon. We can't say what the other food is like as we have never deviated from the chicken PP. But if the standard is as good, you are on to a winner. The prices are reasonable, and the open air vibe is ever changing...watch out for humongous seagulls (fortunately, they have never troubled us). One thing that is certain....we will be back.   After our boat tour of the Algarve caves, we needed a place to wind down with a glass of wine and tapas before heading out for dinner. With a view of course. Boneca bar came recommended by our tour guide as a nice place to appreciate the sunset views. Slightly over priced for the quality offered understandably as the location is frequented mostly by tourists. We had a nice bottle of Bio wine and some appetizers. Quite pleasant and relaxing.   Couvert and drinks with a view. We walked up to Algar Seco to take in the great view and rock formations and stopped here just for a snack. It's a very nice restaurant and doesn't really do snacks but we had the couvert with ewes/cows milk cheese and some sardine paste. A large beer, by that I mean 40cl or caneca, if you order a large you might get the comedy litre stein for €10.00. (I may or may not have done this with unsuspecting friends in the past).   Great little bar. We went with about 15 people after our wedding. The service was quick and efficient. We felt well cared for. Which I found was more a rarity in Portugal than the norm.   I made an online reservation through their email address. Upon arrival on time I was made aware that the nice tables looking at the sea (3 only) were reserved by other people, since they had chosen the table. We were sat at a table overlooking the bushes and no ocean view. I was never told that there was an option to choose a table. Bartender did not understand our order. Returned to our table 45 minutes later, asking if we’re ready to order the food. Once we said food was already ordered, they said they misunderstood and put our order. 1.25min after arrival, our food came. It was good but nothing special. Rally overpriced. We were there from 7pm to 9pm for dinner. Weather was horrible. It is super windy and people were freezing. Server told my mom that they needed to check if they had extra blankets, after giving 10 blankets to the table in front of us. My mom had to walk inside and ask for extra blankets and finally a nice worker helped her. Do not recommend for food... long wait and overprice.   This was recommended to me. Set within the Algar Seco, you need to go down the many steps (safe though) to access this cute bar. I only had light tapas here and was planning to return for a proper dinner but it didn’t work out as the kitchen closes at 8:30pm - I got there after admiring the late sunset on the boardwalk. The garlic shrimps was amazing - was virtually drinking/ licking the sauce lol. The grilled fish (with several types/ options) looked great but that would be for next visit. The reason for the 4 stars is the food. It's by no means bad, but not great either, it's ok. If you have a table in the evening make sure to take something warm with you, it can get quite windy due to the cliffs and with the sun gone it will get chilly.   If not for the location, would be just another tourist trap. Food is pricey but not crazy, mediocre but not terrible. Tastiest dish was the chicken piri-piri; chili helped hide how overcooked it was. Waitstaff is mostly unfriendly, George excluded. I suspect a management issue, when I ventured inside the staff's foul mood extended to the kitchen. They reserve too many tables too far in advance, we were one of three tables with people, all others were reserved. Our table was booked just under 2 hours from our arrival and they told us we only had one hour to eat, then rushed us through. Even with a nearly empty restaurant, they had to turn people away. It would be much smarter to keep a few tables open for walk ins... but they can run their business how they like. And they are content floating on the bare minimum, relying on a fresh wave of tourists. But the location... Absolutely gorgeous.   Lovely setting! We were given a table despite the whole place being booked out (every table had a reserved sign on it) and the food did not disappoint! Fresh fish of the day, grilled to perfection on an open flame visible to guests, washed down with delicious wine and cocktails.   A very interesting ideea of this Bar's placement(surrounded by rocks). When I arrived there I was attracted by the smell of barbecue. Good food and very friendly staff.   Such an incredible spot! We had booked some tables here for the night before our wedding, for the guests to meet each other. Everyone commented on the stunning location. We had more people arrive than were expected, but the staff were very accommodating for us.   Visited this bar on a number of occassions never fails to impress, location is great nestled between the walls of stone, surrounded by caves with a lovely sea view. Worth the walk and climb down to the seating area, the smell from the bbq is great. Staff are polite, attentive and professional the bar is welcoming wether for a cool drink or lunch.   After a nice strawl along the boardwalk we stopped at the Boneca bar for a drink. Thank God we did not planned to stay for dinner. We had to wait a while before the waiter to come and instead of saying hello he threw the menu's on the table and went away. Even when I asked him polite if we could order some drinks. The scenery is breathtaking, wish I could say the same over the waiters, not one was interested and have us a smile.   I went there with my mother, sister and children. It was a superb experience. We had four types of grilled fish, wich was well made with fresh fish. The waiter suggested a white wine, that made the meal complete. The staff was kind, efficient and payed attention. They played musical suitable for the place. But the best thing about the the restaurant is, that it is placed between cliffs on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The view is absolutely stunning.   Really gone downhill over the last couple of years. Service has become really slow, constantly having to get their attention as we felt pretty much ignored. Had tuna one night and it was very nice, second night we had two very overcooked/overseasoned tuna steaks which were an ordeal to chew through. The fish portions are good, but if you're hungry you might need extra sides (literally came with 2 new potatoes or a small handful of fries). Good for a drink, but don't think we'll be back for food - service is too frustrating. They seemed rushed so could do with more staff in my opinion.
