I would give 3 stars… giving 1 just because it’s misleading that this place has 4.7 stars right now.   It's a cute little place, but I feel like they get more service from the location than the product that is provided. I do not understand why this place is so highly rated. The staff is nice, attentive and polite, but the food did not impress me more than a microwave-meal pasta with added Parmesan. The taste is very generic, and could probably benefit from using some fresh herbs and higher quality ingredients. The inside of the restaurant has a hint of something that reminds me of bathroom air-freshener? I had been looking forward to having a good pasta meal, but this was sadly a disappointment. The only issue for me is that even for Portugal (which seems to have small portions every where) the portions were very small, so overall value for money isn't great as I had to order another meal. Was fantastic from start to finish but.. when I came back a couple few days later in need of the washroom the HAG at the counter with a wide smile said its only for clients. I said I understand but I was a client in the recent past and she again, with no care or rlconcern said, nope, sorry. I guess she didn't know we are here for 3 months and are planning on moving here. We loved the meal and our server but we wont tolerate such insolence from such a person. I got your "auto" response. In Canada we are polite and no one in Canada would ever deny someone something so small and pety. The female took pleasure in the denial which is honestly inhumane. To say she felt "threatened" is a synical and predictable response. A man stands up to abuse and of course the female feels threatened? How predictable. And how predictable it is you stand up for your "partner" pubically instead of meditating on it and changing your "rules" and silly behavior.   Food poisoning- appears the spaghetti carbonara was not cooked properly. 4 days later still very ill. I can 100% assure you it was your restaurant as I didn’t eat after that. All I have been able to have is electrolytes and drink water with some toast. Doctors test results have proved it was food poisoning, Covid test negative a GP ruled out any other mitigating matters.   I was really hyped when I saw the high reviews. But the food itself unfortunately disappointed. The pastas and lasagna were average at most. The cutlery and glasses are from IKEA, the cheese not freshly grated. The tiramisu was not ready yet. It makes us doubt all the 5 star reviews.   We are a couple living in Sydney and visited Lisbon Portugal for the first time. We were struggling to find a nice meal during our visit and were lucky to book a table with this restaurant which was ranked 5 on trip advisor. As residents from Australia we understand Italian food is either good or great. My wife, my 3 yr old daughter (who almost never eats) loved the food and to top it off the service and friendly people made it even better.   This review has been long overdue, been coming here for years (use to came with my ex fiancée, we broke up but my love for this restaurant never died) this has became my favorite restaurant, not only did they had a Michelin star in 2013 the Italian food makes me feel like I literally took a trip to Milano.   Ate here for our last night in Cascais. We had this restaurant on our "to try" list after seeing all the good reviews. We were not disappointed! Between us we tried, cacio e pepe ravioli with tomato sauce, bolognese, putenesca, the meat and cheese platter and a salad. Everything was delicious. The homemade, fresh pasta was to die for. The sauces were simple but exceptionally tasty and we enjoyed every single bite. For desert we tried afogato, strawberry cheeselcake and tirimasu.   Stopped after reading reviews. Had the Pumpkin ravioli with Gorgonzola sauce. It was delicious. Sauce wasn't overpowering like some gorgonzola sauces are.   it was ok! i had a glass of house wine and the lasagna. It was really hot on the outside and just warm on the inside.   Absolutely incredible! As a couple we had a starter, two main dishes and a dessert, all shared. All of them with perfect flavour balance. The bruschetta was a trip on itself. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with an amazing sauce and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The pizza was simple but gorgeous, subtle flavours on top of an amazing dough. The tiramisu was creamy and light. Simply amazing. We definitely felt the passion in their dishes. After this, we know for a fact that, they love Italian food as much as we do.   Usually I try to avoid "open all day" restaurants, but we wanted to eat early, so here I was. Lucky me! This is a really nice Italian restaurant, my pasta carbonara (which in itself is not a very complicated dish, but not easy to get completely right) was completely right, and the other dishes in my group were just as fine. Exactly how you hope to get them when you walk into a small restaurant in Italy - but than outside of Italy! Staff was also friendly, house wine tasted good, cocktail was just like you see it on TV. Like I said, really nice. Too bad they aren't open on Tuesdays, otherwise I'd be back here tomorrow.   I decided to try this place as it had positive reviews. Ordered their pasta in classic pomodoro and basil sauce and their funghi pizza. I was disappointed that they don’t use fresh basil in their pizza and pastas. They sprinkle dried basil that comes in a jar. The pizza dough was crispy and not like a proper Italian pizza and the topping could use a little more tomato sauce. The pasta sauce had a good and rich consistency but had no basil flavor to it. The atmosphere/ambience is OK but if the owners want to promote this place as an authentic Italian restaurant in Cascais, they need to up their game on the pomodoro sauce and pizza dough/topping.
