  The staff is attentive and great. The ambience is great as well. The food is alright too. I had ordered Jeera Rice and Dal, and for some reason the rice was orange which was disappointing. The other dishes - e.g. butter chicken - are fairly priced given quantity and quality. All in all, feel lucky to have Gandhi Palace as my local Indian!   Living in the UK I have eaten a lot of Bangladeshi and Indian food. The food at Gandhi Palace in Cascais was up there with the best. Food was well spiced, portion size well judged and ingredients of good quality. Service on a busy Saturday night was attentive and friendly.   Lovely vegan meal, we ate inside on a warm day like on an open verandah for shade and people watching! The interior is very charming. Prices were what we are used to. Staff spoke English and were helpful for vegan questions and friendly. I had the bhindi dish which was delicious, the chicken dish was apparently very good too - a new twist on the marination. Clean bathrooms too! We had beer, poppadums and starters also. Recommended for vegans.   Got a delivery. The chicken tights were raw. The other grilled chicken was hard impossible to bite into it. The vegetable curry had the oil floating on top and the rest of the sauce separated. It also had tofu in it and that wasn’t on the menu. Overall the experience was bad. We ordered a „Tomato Onion Salad“ and we couldn’t believe our eyes when it was served. You can’t call that plate of tomatoes with onions a salad (picture below).   Lovely place to sit near the long open window and view the tourists bustling by on the pedestrian-only street in the heart of Cascais. Inexpensive and delicious, for dinner we had chicken masala, saag paneer, garlic naan, and two glasses of a crisp vinho verde for a total of 27 euros . That may sound a tad more than 'inexpensive' to some, but the quality of the food, service and setting made it a bargain to us.   Food is very good (coming from an Indian that eats out a lot!), however it's dark and a the staff aren't accommodating. They sat us at the back of the restaurant when we asked to move, they were unwilling. Did so and when came back had given away our table of 7 people. No apology or anything. Went and waited at the Masala up the road and had brilliant service.   Decent British style curry. The salt lassi was quite tasty but the vegetable curry was mostly sauce and small pieces of vegetables. Pleasant staff.
