  Little gem in Faro!! My husband and I went to this restaurant around 2 pm so it wasn’t busy at all. We had the Pescado curado en salsa de mayonesa con limon, la charcutería y el fricasé de conejo!!!! For desert we had el Rollo de algarrobo y almendras con crema de limón!!! Una cerveza y un té frío. The portions are slightly bigger than a Spanish tapa, perfect for sharing!!!! We didn’t leave hungry! I have to say the flavours were so tasteful with known elements that made our taste buds recognize a few ingredients. I will strongly recommend this place if you want to have this nice culinary experience!!   Amazing Tapas, we had the Açorda de Camarão (Shrimp), Polvo com Batata Doce (octopus), Coelho de fricassé (rabbit) and Iscas Picantinhas (spicy live).   The food unfortunately wasn’t for me but my friend loved it so it‘s definitely a matter of opinion. I think 3 dishes for 2 people are enough due to their size. The prices are a bit high but not incredibly expensive. It was such a vibe to sit in this restaurant and be in the middle of the streets of Faro. While we were eating a guitarist came and started playing some acoustic songs which was amazing. The service was nice and I had a great time with my friend.   Extremely disappointing. I came here for lunch with my two friends and the food was frankly inedible. When one of my friends asked for one of his dishes to be removed from the bill (because it was so bad that he could not eat it) they said “no, it’s your fault for choosing it”.   I ordered a glass of rosé and Seabream, they were both very bitter. I have been to Portugal many times and I knew it wasn’t just a different taste. I talked to a member of the staff, he was extremely arrogant, he said everyone was satisfied and I was the only one who complained. And he started to raise his voice and shouted at me, and accused me of making a scene. I also felt that cause I was a solo traveller/ customer and I didn’t order a lot so I wasn’t taken very seriously. The staff were much more friendly to the customers who came as couples or groups.   Can’t recommend this restaurant enough😍😍 My husband and I are foodies but vegetarians ! So it becomes a bit challenging to try local cuisine in different countries. While in Faro, we really wanted to try some local food and came across A Venda. Seeing vegetarian options in an authentic Portuguese restaurant was an instant attraction! The bonus was the food was brilliant! It was new, unique, delicious ! The staff are so warm and welcoming ! Totally loved it! Would recommend to everyone goin to Faro!   Sadly disappointed with our experience at A Venda. Food was good - nothing to shout about, but satiated our hunger. Humble dishes served on traditional plates. Lovely Portuguese cocktails, too. The servers were friendly and helpful when serving but overall completely inattentive. After sitting with our finished dirty plates at our table not being cleared for 40 minutes we got up and left, despite the staff coming near our table and looking over on multiple occasions. Shame, as we were planning on having a dessert. Inside, the vibe with the staff feels shambolic, chaotic and a bit of a mess. Seems like they need a good manager to keep things running more efficiently. I'd come back if they could sort out their service issues. Pros: simple, tasty, affordable food. Fun music. Second, I requested to pay with the card and the girl tells me they don't have, only MbWay. As we did not carry enough cash to cover the bill, I said ok.   An absolute gem in a back alley. The staff were so lovely and accommodated us when they were fully booked. All staff were so friendly. We wanted to come back the next day but unfortunately they were closed, otherwise we would have had spent all our money there! So beautiful. The food was incredible.   Randomly found this restaurant on our way to the airport because the aroma coming from the restaurant as they were opening drew us in. The food is AMAZING.   We walked by this restaurant and felt a nice energy. Little did we know how the waitresses would behave. We were ignored for a solid 3min at the entrance, barely got a hello, couldn't expect a smile and could wait for hours before getting any dessert or the bill.. . Was planning to happily give 5 stars for a nice dining experience; alas, a 15-minute jaunt to an ATM was a pretty sobering/frustrating finish to the meal. I was short a mere €1 by cash. I was fully expecting to be able to pay with card, as I saw a card-reading machine prominently displayed on the front desk. I laid down all my cash, but it was short by one euro, so I had to go find an ATM in the middle of the night, and make my way back to the restaurant just so that they can have their paper cash 💶 instead of digital cash.   No table when we arrived but the waitress kindly booked us one in 30 minutes. The waiter came to take our order and gleefully announced that this was a ‘concept restaurant’ that served tapas-type dishes but were not finger food. The orzo salad was delicious, well made and tasty. Then came the octopus. Slightly over cooked in a sloppy brown bean stew with too much sauce. Then came a chickpea and cod dish which was covered in a rather awful creamy sauce. No taste or structure. The waitress had a look of disbelief when we said we didn’t like it. The fourth dish was so unremarkable, I can’t even remember what it was. All the plates were chipped, the waitress looked at me as if I wasn’t quite cool enough to be eating off a chipped plate. The decor was a lot of very bad artwork which was crammed on the wall, irrelevant books shoved onto bookshelves, presumably to add to the false ‘quirky’ look of the place. I felt sad for the staff having to serve very mediocre food. They didn’t look very happy and weren’t interacting with customers or with their colleagues. Poor food, poor service, pretentious decor. Very overrated place. As for the ‘concept’…. we still haven’t quite worked out what it was. If the chefs and the waiting staff work it out, they really need to change it.   Ambience great, decor cool, food taste was terrible. Our server recommended 4 dishes that I don’t see on trip advisor and each one was terrible, almost inedible. Cod belly, pumpkin, bean stew and chickpea salad. The codfish belly was in a cream sauce and it was gross. Bean stew had 4 pieces of meat in the whole thing. Pumpkin was just pumpkin warmed up.   Don't miss this one. I am vegetarian and it is rare you get good meat and vegetarian options at the same restraunt in Portugal. However this place has such a good range of dishes. Everything we tried tasted great and the staff were really friendly. Also the menu is very good value for money! With dishes around €6 each.   This was one of the best restaurants - same generally food experiences - I've had in a long time! Everyone was so friendly and made me feel so welcome that I almost forgot that I was in a restaurant rather than a homestay. The different tapas dishes too made me think of being cooked for by a generous Portuguese grandma who wanted to convince me of how amazing Portuguese cooking is. She would've succeeded - everything was so, so tasty! And the atmosphere in a quiet cobbled street with lanterns was gorgeous. My favourites were the black bean croquettes and the codfish Samos, plus of course the Carob-almond-cake, which was an absolute dream! We looked at the menu and didn't think it was going to be much, but the food was incredible.   Excellent food, friendly staff. As a solo diner, they made me feel welcome. They have a “standard” menu with regular dishes as well as seasonal dishes. Then they also have a daily special menu.   We had such a great dinner here! The food ist just amazing and the staff (especially the nice lady with the good advices and explanations) very comforting. As a general tip: don’t eat too much over the day so you can have more tapas over here! Unfortunately it is closed on Sunday otherwise we would have visited the place right away on the next day. Also, make a reservation, on a Saturday we got one of the last three tables and it was 10 minutes before the restaurant actually opened (which is 7:30pm). Compliment to the chef, we loved it! Tudo o que comemos estava muito gostoso, mas como é verão, alguns itens como melancia e gaspacho deveriam estar mais frios (devem considerar baixar a temperatura da geladeira). Todas as mesas do lado de fora estavam ocupadas, então ficamos lá dentro e estava um pouco quente também, sem ventiladores. Tudo o que tínhamos era muito saboroso e não havia nada que eu diria que não valesse a pena. Toda a equipe foi muito legal.

  Probably the best place for dinner in Faro! We sat outside on the street which was great because there were no cars and it was a lovely atmosphere. We ordered a selection of dishes and we especially loved the ceviche with sweet potato and the beetroot and zucchini with feta. We didn't like the linseed loaf; it was very fatty and not really flavorful. The dessert were also nice and they even have a daily vegan dessert!   We went back on the second night of our 2night stay, because it was so so so so good! Laidback restaurant, that's built on the idea of love of food. So many and diverse things on the menu! Both nights we picked 5 items, and then had desert, which was plenty. Croquettes with fennel seeds and chestnut.... I wanna try to make that at home. Other highlights were the deserts, the lamb with pear and tartar of beets. The concept of sharing dishes is just plain Dutch "gezellig" and offer more opportunity to sample everything on the menu. Make sure to bring cash, no pin! Only minor point (because you want one), the server with the cap/hat is a bit stuck up, but the other servers were super super nice, took the time to explain and share their own ideas/opinions on food.   Well we read decent reviews of this place and decided to head down. Ince we got there we asked for a table for two to one of the staff and was directed outside. Just as we were about to sit a very rude woman came out and started shouting "NO NO NO NO NO" waving her index finger at us in front of everyone at the restaurant in an attempt to very rudely stop us from sitting down. I told her that the waiter directed us here and she didn't even apologise or make an explanation. Zero customer service and very rude manners from this restaurant. Will not come here again and there are many other good places to go where you are treated with respect and a smile. Avoid.   We went for lunch to this cafeteria. The decoration of the place is very interesting. The waiter was friendly, but not very attentive. It was 3 personal working at that time: one cooking, and other 2 serving people and washing dishes at the same time. We have ordered gazpacho soup, couscous salad and fish stew. Soup and salad were nice, what I can’t say about stew. It was just a water with 3 small shrimps, 2 pieces of tasteless fish and some chopped herbs. This dish was announced -8 euros.   Our first time at A Venta and had a delightful meal. Entering we were treated by the smell of wood smoked peppers and warm wood finishes. A real cozzy place. The restruant is small and we were fortunate to get a table for 2 for an early meal at 7:30. We started with a vegetarian curry followed by croaker and clams and oven roasted pork. All the dishes were so delicious (marinated starters, cheese, sardines, couscous salad, couple meat dishes) andey brought out just the perfect amount, checking if we had enough along the way too.   Absolutely beautiful food! I had some of the vegan tapas and they tasted better than some dishes I had at vegan only places. It was all fresh and so full of flavours!   First impression was a complete disaster. Standing at the entrance for 10 minutes and none to welcome us. We then decided to step in ourselves and take the only available table.... 10 minutes more waiting and then finally the greetings. All was worth I must confess. A true teste of Portuguese kitchen. The stuff was exhausted as the place was packed but they didn't miss to be nice and friendly. Location is also fine - highly recommend if you can be a little patient.   Lovely little Gem in the pubs area of Faro, best place we've tried during our 5 days trip. Staff is adorable and very aware of what's vegan on the menu. Kuddos to their homemade gluten free seitan like fake meat, crispy and tasty it's one of the most delicious vegan dish I had in my life.   We were looking for something what locals would eat and we found it. We followed the chefs offer of the day and were not disappointed. We got an honest Portuguese meal made of quality ingredients.   Wonderful hidden place in Faro, Portugal. We found this place on our last day here just before going to the airport. What a super tasty food! All made fresh and I can tell it was one of the most beautiful meals I have ever had. Great vegan options, owners so warm and friendly, even made us fresh almond milk for coffee and I can tell it was a beautiful experience to drink this coffee being a coffee snob myself. When started to rain, they got big brolly out for us too, toilets super vintage look and clean. Inside its very vintage cosy feel. We will definitely come back when in Faro again. Thank you guys. Oh! And there is funny lady coming out when you sit outside, she lives just opposite door, she doesn’t like pigeons in front of her door but if you give her a smile, that smile she gives you back is wonderful.   These gentlefolk really.do care about the food which they prepare and serve. Nothing was too much trouble and the flavours were to.die for. As a vegan I felt cared for and my dietary needs were more than catered for. If you are in Faro and you are dining out then this place really is a must. 5/5 is the minimum these guys get. I finished my food.and wanted a coffee. Almond milk was prepared there and then to make a vegan coffee. Absolute heaven. Given our relatively short stay in Portugal, it was a pleasure to receive a well thought out taste of the local flavours in a quaint and welcoming setting.   We visited A Venda after reading rave reviews about this place. Sadly it was a great disappointment. We came to Faro visiting family and wanted to take them out for a nice meal. There were 6 of us 3 of us are vegans. The waiting staff were not really interested in working They mostly stood behind the counter talking. We ordered our meals and from the time the first main course was put down it took 35 minutes until we got the last main course. So we didn't actually eat together. There were several things that they didn't have on the menu. My wife ordered the bean stew which you would think would be hot, no it was cold straight from the fridge. And the chicken and chickpeas were not as described on the menu and we're inedible. We won't be going back there!!   Best food I've ever had. Had a great selection of tapas, all wonderfully seasoned and unique. The octopus was amazingly firm, too. The place is cozy and the staff is nice and helpful.   Warm and friendly. The lace is so nice, decorated vintage-style, and the food is delicious. They only use and serve Portuguese products, so no crappie international lemonade or ice tea here👍 You can have tapas either a small or a big portion, so you can decide whether to share or if traveling alone can try more than one thing at a time.   Small and sweety restaurant managed by 2 persons (during the lunch). Plates with too much olive oil, all is fried or warmed in microwaves. Waiting and waiting.. Sirs, if for some of you A Venda is a gem or a great restaurant.. please take a look around the world and write some objective writting. Plus, below the fridge there were rubish...   Wow what a gem of a place. There's competition for outside seats well past 10pm (inside has less competition). Recommend you have the chef look after you and they will treat your palette to an experience worth having. Game, fish ,it's all here so your bound to find something on the menu.
