  A restaurant that you would visit for a quick meal & leave. We were sitting so close to tables next to and behind us that you could reach out and touch someone and hear their entire conversation. It was uncomfortable when the waiters had to squeeze into the non existent space between tables to serve food. I didn’t enjoy the starters. The prawn pakora was doughy and soggy. The chicken samoosa had no flavour, just chicken mince. I would give both these a skip. We enjoyed the butter chicken & lamb vindaloo. The garlic naan was also really good. The curry portion sizes were small, you would have to eat another curry or starters to get full. I didn’t like how they were trying to pressurize people to pay by cash. If you agreed to pay by cash they would hand write a receipt out vs if you paid by card it was a typed out receipt. While I can understand restaurants not wanting to pay the credit card charges this is a dodgy form of tax evasion.   Very friendly and welcoming restaurant situated in the center of Faro. The dining area is rather small and eventually it may become crowded and noisy. Also the location is right on a busy street and does not offer outdoor seating. The menu ranges across the typical northern Indian dishes (tandoori, tikka, naan, etc.) but also offers special selections of vegan and vegetarian combinations. We were a party of 6, all of us ordering different items but nonetheless, all dishes were served at the same time still hot and steaming.   Stopped in for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. Prices are quite reasonable, service was friendly but not overbearing and the food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the butter chicken with rice and a glass of sangria. The Tadka Dal (lentil stew) was also very tasty. If you're in the area and have a taste for Indian food, it's worth a visit. Since I caught a cold I had ginger tea and chicken soup as a starter and to light up my inner fire some chicken chili with ginger and garlic.   Disappointing after seeing rating and reviews. Some while before we offered drinks. The best red wine was very average. Chutneys with popadoms was just mint sauce and mango. Limited list of staters leading to Prawn Samosas which were soggy. Fragments of onion bhaji small and cold. Mushroom rice was microwaved boiled rice with slices of mushroom. Chilli Chicken not spicy hot and in a gluppy sauce which was very odd and unpleasant not unlike wallpaper paste in consistency. We eat curry very regularly and make it from scratch at home too so have some idea what is good and bad. We won’t return. Great pity. The Cholle were amazing, reminded me of Amritsar :) The spicy chutney was amazing too. Negi served us and he was very kind and polite. The coffee was good too.   Good Indian food is the jewel of my culinary appetite and I found a Diamond in Namastey Faro, near the old city centre.. The reviews were so good that we decided to give it a try.. What a delight. A very clean simple comfortable premises with small footpath seating outdoors and an airy indoor section with a small bar. The upstairs toilets were very large and clean. We were made feel very welcome by All the STAFF...original native Indians and I had a lovely conversation with one waiter who came from a place where I stayed ( as a student) in 1981! The food arrived promptly, freshly cooked and DELICIOUS. My father had the Pork in mushrooms which was beautifully spiced but not too hot. My sister had the chicken Tikka karai which was beautifully spiced and I had the prawn jelfrezi with egg fried rice and Bombay Allu.....All dishes were so authentic and individual... each dish had its own different combination of fresh spices that made them stand out and yet compliment each other as we dipped into each other's bowls !! We were overwhelmed.... Then the price .....very very reasonable. Another lovely surprise! 🙏 Namastey , peace, good feeling ..it had it all. Each dish was packed with flavour, from dips and papadams through to our main courses accompanied by sweet coconut rice.   Had spicy chicken with colored rice. Wasn’t really spicy, even for European taste. But sort from that, food was tasty! I need to point out the excellent service. Never have I been called „Sir“ before (haha). But to be honest, very kind, quick and professional service. The portion could have been a slight bit bigger. But the price is reasonable for what you get. The interior serves its purpose but isn’t overly luxurious. I’d recommend you to give it a try and go there!   I really enjoyed my experience at Namastey restaurant in faro .The food, service, ambiance and cleanliness were spot on. It is more of a fine dining experience and they have made a lot of effort to attention to details to make the experience really good. It also seems to be very popular so my recommendation is to make prior reservations as I saw many people getting turned away due to many reservations on the day I visited. We orders the veg/biriyani, malai kofta, prawn vindaloo and the lamb buna and they were all adequate and excellent in flavors. Then we we also tried the cardamom tea which was the perfect ending to our great meal. Mind you portion sizes are one is to one.   I'm from London and Indian restaurants are on every high street so I was surprised when our host suggested that we dine at one tonight. The menu was a selection of dishes that were cooked specially for us i.e. not on the menu. Each dish was delicately seasoned and the flavours were layered and distinct, the spicier ones leaving a little tingle on the tongue at the end. If indian cuisine is to your taste, you won't be disappointed at this restaurant.   I was looking for a different dining experience tonight and happened to find Namastey. it was early for Portuguese dinner 7pm, the restaurant only had a few tables occupied so I was a little nervous about eating there. a little under an hour into my dinner the place filled and a line formed outside. Get there early!   I came to this place with recommendation from my South Asian friend and I have to say it was all delicious. we had vegetable biryani and chicken madras, naan and traditional chai tea. it was all tasting fresh with lot of flavours. chef is punjabi and we had also nice chat about the cuisine.   Went in looking for a budget friendly place to have lunch. 6€ menu includes soup, salad, rice, curry, a drink and a cafe (portions are fairly small but all together it is pretty filling).   Really good indian restaurant! The food was actually amazing... Both the quality and the quantity served was impressive. It is usually not very crowded in here. The staff speaks good English. The authentic indian drinks are also prepared fresh. This retsaurant offers takeout as well and we ate here more than once during our stay.
