  This is a very busy spot in the center and its food didn’t not disappoint us. The scallops risotto is the best we have had on the island. I would also recommend the fried calamari over the grilled version. Since it’s a busy place, the service was a bit slow during its peak time.   My fiancee and I loved this place. We ate here twice during our five days in Funchal. The food was excellent! Beef and tuna steaks cooked table side on hot stones, lamb cooked in a brown gravy that was so tender you could eat it with a spoon, grilled prawns, crispy calamari, garlic bread and salads.The meals we had were great!! The staff was awesome too. Everyone was prompt and in a fun joking mood. We had a lot of fun here as well as eating great!   The staff were friendly and my friend had the sea bass, which she said was nice (despite being full of bones). However, the vegetarian dish which I ordered was extremely disappointing. The wrong dish was initially put through the kitchen. When the right one did arrive, stuffed pepper, there was a lack of the 'gratined vegetables' promised and the potatoes were cold and some were bad. Overall, a really disappointing experiences which we paid a premium for.   Decent food from a fairly standard Funchal restaurant menu at, mostly, standard sort of prices. Though the desserts, by local standards were inexplicably "expensive". Expensive is probably a bit harsh, but they were a few euros more than at most restaurants without really having anything about them to justify the markup. Overall, expensive for the level of quality.   The service really was all over the place and seemed to lack organisation. We saw three, possibly four, different members of staff and the lack of coordination was evident. Shortly after ordering, another table's order was brought to us. When a waiter brought our food (both of us had ordered risotto), he asked who the ham and cheese omelette was for. It's a little worrying when the waiter doesn't know what he's brought you - he did have the correct order but didn't seem to know what it was. Upon trying to add salt to my food we realised there was pepper in the salt shaker and vice versa. They seemed keen to get us drunk, swooping in to pour out more of our wine even as we made it clear we didn't want more at that time. Further to this, the loud piped music did nothing for the ambience. In light of the above you might wonder why this merited a 2-star review. The answer is that the food and house wine were very good (albeit not cheap), free and excellent Madeira was provided at the end of the meal, and they were fairly quick to sort a wobbly table.   there was a few restaurants along this road. we decided on this restaurant in part because of the enthusiasm of the staffs. they were having fun outside with the pple walking past and all. the server had the patience to explain their dishes which was important to understand the local dishes. we order the scabbard fish(local specialty) with passion fruit sauce. fish was fresh and delicious. nicely presented too. i had the fish tomato soup which was pretty yummy too. i ended the menu with a fresh fruit with vanilla ice cream. the service was good, they were attentive and polite. the food i would say it’s good but not wow. overall worth a try and pretty value for money if you take their set menu.   I had best meal in Madeira here. I tried the set menu - salad starter, fish with Banana and fruit salad. Such amazing tastes- veggies, salad with nice. Yogurt dressing. I would def come back if I am back in Madeira. The place is on quite street. Nice ambience. Underrated here I would say (Traduzido pelo Google) Comi aqui a melhor refeição da Madeira. Experimentei o menu fixo - entrada de salada, peixe com banana e salada de frutas. Gostos incríveis - vegetais, salada com bom gosto. Molho de iogurte. Eu definitivamente voltaria se voltasse à Madeira. O lugar fica em uma rua tranquila. Ambiente agradável. Subestimado aqui eu diria
