  We had a really nice three course meal and were "complimented" by another diner for having good appetites 😂 The meats and cheeses board was very nice, and the addition of pineapple gave it that zingy sharpness that's ideal for a palette cleanser. For mains we had the wreckfish which was delicious and served with some lovely vegetables and potatoes. Dessert was apple crumble, which was very nice indeed. We did have a bottle of wine which wasn't to our tastes, but you might vary. The restaurant is on a busy road, and you do get quite a lot of road noise which can make it difficult to hear others that you're dining with.   We’ve been here 3 times since arriving. We’ve tried many of the other restaurants and this place is the best for healthy, high quality protein and vegetables.   Beautiful, elegant , fun restaurant. The food was very tasty and every single thing I ate was wonderful. Atmosphere: very pretty place , we had live music in the evening we ate dinner around 8pm , mixture of English and Portuguese local songs were played. Food: was amazing however portions could have been a bit bigger however if you take starter then it should be fine. It was worth it anyways I think. Service: we got free starters which were these small fried balls with fish inside and after our meal we got a free digestive shot aswell which was very sweet.   Have been there on two different occasions. Both times we had an amazing time. The food was excellent, with surprisingly big portions ( especially the side dishes) and the service was outstanding. Our waiter went out of her way to answer any question we might have had regarding the dishes, had an extremely pleasant and friendly attitude, and actually showed us a bottle of the local wine they serve as a thank you drink (it tasted superb, so we inquired about the wine and whereabouts we can buy some) The food was also great. Both times we had beef steaks in some form and they were cooked exactly like we asked. The side dishes are simple but very well prepared, The starters and desserts were also amazing.   Our first time in Madeira and vvisited here twice! Came for my wife's belated birthday dinner and then tonight to give our last night a send off. Honestly, superb place! Loved it. When we come back to Madeira next year we'll be back. The service is impeccable but the food is just wow! Wonderfully presented, fastest amazing and served by attentive staff. Honestly, we have lots of Portoguese friends at home but it's the biggest thing Sheffield is missing, their food. Madeira and Funchal are new favourites and this restaurant tops it. Well I'll tell you why not ,when we ordered food the waitress said it might take a bit longer as busy ,2 courses 25-30 mins ,one & half hour later after complaining the food arrived, 2 other large groups arrived after us & got served before us ,after speaking to seemed like head waitress she answered very aggressively, no apology, only apologised at end when time to pay ,no tip, actually the only tip i would give would be more polite to tourists!!pity as generally most restaurants are good . The missing Stars are from the freezing air conditioner that we asked to be turned down and they did like 2 degrees.   A lot better than it looks. This is a typical roadside cafe/restaurant but the food was better than we expected. The garlic bread was lovely I had prawns in masala sauce to start, my wife had prawns in garlic. They came with plenty of bread, and i think the garlic was a better choice The beef on skewers is a highlight. It was nicely cooked and decent quality meat. The vegetables were fresh and nicely cooked. The chicken on pasta was also delicious. The pasta was fresh and the chicken not too dry. House wine was fine and not bad value at €4.25. Service was very friendly. I don’t usually recommend this type of restaurant highly. Their client is transient so not much effort goes in to the food. This place is not like that at all.   Went here for dinner on a sunday night. We had the chicken and beef espetadas with salad and grilled veggies on the side. We were both possitivly suppriced by how fresh, tender, juicy and tasty it was. Ended the whole meal off with a special off-meny request. Banana split served the traditional way.   Fantastic restaurant! Great location just behind the Savoy Palace so their competition is very good but they are well worth a visit. The food was honestly 10/10. Great menu, simple but with good variety. For starters we had the masala prawns, ravioli and beef carpaccio all were superb. Mains we had the chicken esptata, pork cheek and pork belly and everyone was in agreement how how good each dish was. It was a same we only found it on our last night but when we come back we will 100% make a point to visit again!   The restaurant looked nice from the outside and the menu board looked interesting so decided to give it a try. I opted for the grilled meats and my wife chose the sea bream. Both meals arrived promptly and looked delicious! And more importantly they tasted as good as they looked. The fish was fresh and well cooked as were the grilled meats - especially the belly pork which was soft and sweet. The staff were very friendly and attentive. With a bottle of wine the total meal came to around €65 - very good value for money we thought.   Location and service was good, but the food was not. It looked delicious but was not even close to it. The meat and fries were not really seasoned at all. The salad was also not seasoned and very dry. It tasted really just like some salad with one tomato and a bit of cucumber and carrot. At least the Madeira bread as an appetizer was delicious.   A busy restaurant lots of tourists, food is not bad some dishes are small portions but good taste and well presented, service is good until 10 pm then all waiters disappeared and stayed only 1 with quite some tables, plus he as to serve the owners and family table and leaving clients waiting for desert or to pay, also make sure you check your bill carefully because they over charge you for things you did not eat or drink , I know by experience been in this restaurant at least 5 or 6 times. I am local not a tourist and they over charged me 2 times, once for a botle of wine and 2 coffees second time plus the service after 10 pm is non existent today was the last time in this place.   We had a very pleasant late lunch here. The location is by a relatively busy road but they are set back far enough its not particualrly noisy. They've worked hard to provide a separation through floral barriers and the decor is lovely. I had grilled chicken with pesto pasta which was lovely and refreshing. As it was a late lunch I was tempted by chips to share however the kind waitor advised us against it and that was very good advice as we were stuffed! Friendly prompt service. Great spot!   Dined at this restaurant with my partner, they took 15 minutes to take our drinks order. Drinks and appetisers were okay but appetisers where definitely not cooked from fresh - I had the ravioli and could taste that it was not fresh. The chicken dish that I had for main was slightly raw in the middle with about a quarter of the chicken being inedible as it was just bone and gristle. My partner had the mixed grill which was not cooked to standard and has made him very poorly, the sausage was raw in the middle and the short rib didn’t look cooked at all. They did take the sausage away to cook it more… but this resulted in it being over cooked and inedible. The chef cannot cook a mixture of meats to be served at the same time and this has since resulted in my partner getting food poisoning. When we asked for a potion of fries as an additional side, these were not cooked either. The manager thought that a free dessert was appropriate compensation for serving undercooked food, which we politely declined. Shockingly poor food hygiene - will never dine here again.   Probably our favourite restaurant during our week's visit. The service was great and food was excellent. We had octopus in different venues and here was by far the best. They cooked it perfectly so it was not tough at all and the mashed potatoes went really well with it.   Very nice restaurant with good prices as well. Octupus was super tasty and worth it. 4 stars since the other meal we ordered the fried scabbardfish was a bit bland/dry without sauce, but maybe since it was listed under the cheaper “fast food” section?   We came across this place purely by chance. The food was great and we thought the service was excellent. As a Scot I know a good chip and the chips here are some of the best I've ever had. We dined here three times, it was that good. We're going back to Madeira in October and I'll be phoning a reservation once I've cleared the airport.   To be honest, just not my kind of place. I had the chuck steak which was good, but they are Trying to be one of these upmarket places with minimal food.   We were here 3 Times in 7 Days. I think that this is the best restaurant in this area of Funchal if we talk about food prices and quality. Food was very good.   Greatly disappointed with the food we ordered. Food was served cold. Octopus is not fresh, it is chewy and the tastes like air freshener. Not also a fan of how they cooked the fish.   What an amazing place! The food is the best we have had in Madeira so far and the dessert - we shared a passion fruit pie and it was one of the best desserts we have ever eaten!! The lovely team that work there were all super friendly and even made my partner a cocktail that wasn't on the menu.   I really loved this place! It is located just in front of the Casino, perfect for chilling and eating delicious food. The cocktails are amazing!
