  Service was awful. Food was mediocre at best. We made the mistake of ordering the Most expensive market priced fish ever. Meal for 4 was well over 150 euros!! We enjoyed the food but there is better food, better service and better atmosphere in Lagos, equating to better value for money overall.   We stopped for lunch at this restaurant during our walk of the Fisherman's Trail from Lagos to Luz. Wow! Fantastic food and a fabulous setting. The fish soup was one of the best we've had anywhere.   Indeed food is nice just that the service is a bit not satisfactory. I can feel that the waitress is trying to help but she has been urging all the time. Regardless the food is exceptionally tasty especially seafood.   Its a fancy restaurant so don’t expect low price. I took the sole, I could go and pick it, it was fresh from the day on a bank of ice with other fishes . It was delicious, and the service was good and the staff friendly. I took a tasy grilled sole (fish) I’m giving them 3 star because I ordered a Kir Royale (with champagne) 11 euros the glass, they brought it and the champagne was not sparkling anymore, almost no bubbles. I asked nicely to replace it, and they brought back exactly the same thinking I would not see the difference. Not a nice or smart move. You never know who is in front of you.   Well, one or two not so good reviews, but as we're sat here now we've just finished a delicious meal. Clams shared. Golden Bream off the rack and nicely prepared. We chose garlic rice for a change and it was perfect for the fish. One tip, a few drips of white wine vinegar with olive oil and black pepper on the fish. Finished with the egg pudding with coconut. Was all delicious and as good as we've had all holiday.   I had a bad experience ordering from this Restaurant. After a busy morning visiting some beaches, the only thing I wanted was to enjoy a good drink and meal watching the sea. The location of this restaurant is great, but customer service is horrible. I ordered a bread and it was hard and moldy. When I raised it to the the waitress, she called the manager and he said that it was not moldy because it "does not smell like moldy bread". I told him, I grew up in a Bakery and I currently work for a Bakery chain in UK. But he wanted to be right and show that the customer was wrong. Before writing this post, I triple check with other people and they confirmed what I was sure about. This was a moldy bread. The restaurant also charged me for something that I DID NOT EAT. I am giving 2 stars for the service because of the waitress that felt bad for the situation that she could not do anything about it as the final world came from her boss. However, the waitress was impatient with no smile bugging us to order food. There was a couple sitting in the next table. She turned and greeted them with a lovely smile 😡. After soup is served we waited a long time for our main dishes. The couple and a table of 5 people in front of us ordered much later than us, and they all had their food!   It had everything to be a good restaurant but unfortunately the rudeness of the staff when something goes wrong, made it a bad experience. We asked for vegetables that had a foul smell to be replaced and the waiters were extremely rude. They told us that they serve over 300 people per day and never had any problems and that someone behind us was eating the vegetables and they received no complaints from the customer.   Delicious food with a wonderful view. We didn't have a reservation and showed up 40 minutes after lunch started to try our luck. They added us to the wait-list and we were seated within 10 minutes. All of the food we tried was delicious, the portions were generous. Also their espresso was some of the best we had in Italy. Their fish soup was definitely worth trying. They were kind and gracious with our toddler who wanted to run around the restaurant. They had high chairs available and were overall toddler friendly. If you want to eat here expect to wait for infinity.   We did not have reservation for O Camilo, so we asked if they had a table for 3 persons after a day at the beach. The person who received us was already annoyed by our request but got us a table - with a great view! I’d say it was around 6pm. The server came to our table with no smile and clearly in a rush to take our order. They looked as if we were really annoying to her, she quickly took our order and left. We weren’t served by this server afterwards, but even our second server was full of himself, even was condescendant to my mom who asked a question about the area. She got a replied “Jesus Christ… where you from?” As if she should have known what city was on the other side of the bay (that was her question). Overall, amazing food and drinks, though expensive but they can caus of the location. as a person that worked at still work in hospitality, I can’t comprehend how servers can be so rude and disrespectful to clients, even if yes, we were tourists.   High end restaurant serving high quality seafood and top notch service. Recommend the red prawns and seafood rice. Prices are on the higher side cause it's located on a cliff overlooking the ocean so this is prob factored into the prices. However the high prices come with exceptional service and quality food. One minor complaint is they gave us toasted butter bread in addition to the normal table bread and charged us for that which we never asked for. The resto is located right next to the lighthouse so you can go check that out after your lunch or dinner.   Restaurant for tourists, conveniently placed next to Praia do Camilo and the Ponta da Piedade boardwalk, with both outdoor and indoor seating and nice sea views. Prices are tourist oriented, a bit on the high side. You definitely pay a premium for the location, while food quality was nice but nothing to write home about. Due to its location the place is also quite crowded in high season, we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Nice staff, good service.   It is very hard to find a table, specially in the evening, at lunch maybe you have luck and find a table. I wanted to drink a coffe with plant based milk but you can't find something like that. Just normal milk. Vegan options I did not see. Maybe just potatos and salat. It's a restaurant where you can find fresh fish. I ate a fish soup, it was very tasty.   We passed by the restaurant and thought it was a nice place to have lunch. We waited for over 20 minutes to see someone since they hung a sign to wait to be seated. When finally someone came out we wanted to ask for a table but the waiter was so rude to us and told us we had to write our names in the list (that he had in his hands!!)   Fish was very good and fresh along with the Oysters, service was shocking with all staff treating our group as if we were a bother (we had to ask 4 times for tap water and 5 for the bill).   Tourist trap. This place was a major disappointment. They have terrific views so we decided to eat here. We should have known from the impersonal greeting and how we were seated that this place was not going to be like other restaurants in Portugal. No smiles, no friendly greeting. Everyone here acts like you are bothering them. We had been in Portugal for nearly a week at this point so we knew this was far from the norm. Our waitress acted like she had something better to do and had an impatient frown on her face the entire time. We did not order any of the fresh catch off the day but rather off the menu. The calamari were good at first but pretty oily and became soggy very quick. The view from the patio is very very nice.   Lovely ambience and amazing food, every single dish I had was packed with so much flavour, ngl sometimes I consider booking a flight to Portugal just to eat here again. I ordered the fish soup for starters which was so healing and yummy, my favourite. Ordered orange juice which so fresh and sweet I ended up ordering another one. For mains I had the grilled golden seabream served with potatoes and vegetables, everything so flavoursome and super delicious. For dessert I had 'mixed algarvio with cheirinho' which is a three layered cake (fig, carob, almond) and it came with a lovely citrussy sorbet, it was beautiful.   Very nice dining experience if you like seafood. Fish was all prepared well. Some of us loved the sole, and some of us really enjoyed how they cooked the golden bream.   REALLY BAD EXPERIANCE Thusday was extremely rainy and windy. The terrace obviously was closed. In front of the door was a "wait here for seating" sign, in the pouring rain. I went 0,5meters pass the sign to get shelter from the hard rain, still outside on empty closed terrase. The head waitor ran from the inside with aggressive hand signs and shouted to me to go behind the sign and stand in the pouring rain and wait?! I was with my family, wife and two kids. I asked politely for a table for 4pers. He told me aggressivly to get back into the rain and wait! There was 200-300m2 sheltered empty outside terrase. And not a single person in the "que". We were all soaking wet. I own 5 seafood restaurants, check my profile. I would never ever treat a customer this way. If my customers would stand in the rain I would ask them to find shelter under the terasse roof, which was totally empty. Of course! I disbelief of what just had happened I took my family and we walked back to town, 2,5km in the pouring rain. Extremely confused and sad. Estávamos todos encharcados. Tenho 5 restaurantes de frutos do mar, verifique meu perfil. Eu nunca trataria um cliente dessa maneira. Se os meus clientes ficassem à chuva, eu pedia-lhes que encontrassem abrigo sob o telhado do terasse, que estava totalmente vazio. Claro! Sem acreditar no que tinha acontecido, peguei minha família e voltamos para a cidade, 2,5km sob uma chuva torrencial. Extremamente confuso e triste.

  5 stars for the food and the location. The variety and quality of the fish was an absolute delight on both visits here. The grilled octopus and the cataplana were both excellent and memorable 3 stars for the service which was a real shame as it spoilt the overall enjoyment of the meal. Some of the staff clearly didn’t want to be there and sadly didn’t seem to care about making your meal as good as it could be. This was very upsetting as I was trying to tell her that I called and even tried to show her the outgoing call from my phone and she didn’t even wanted to listen to me . I was very upset .   Love these types of spots. The only legit restaurant on Ponta de Piedade. Highly recommend. I guess it’s been there for 40 years but used to be more like a local fish shack. Now it’s a nice, elevated seafood restaurant at the top of the bluff. We showed up early around 6pm and they squeezed us into a table before the dinner rush hit. There’s a daily catch display that you can order from along with an extensive seafood menu. Place is lively and the staff is cool. We ordered a dozen oysters, a few small plates and the monk fish. So good. We came back the next day and the restaurant was closed but they were still serving drinks and oysters from the outside bar. When my clients came to the restaurant they were prohibited to enter.   I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend for lunch, we didn't know what to expect. The waiting time was long but it was totally worth it! We were surprised by the high quality of the food.. A big and fresh portion of seafood. They have other meat options as well. The staff was really friendly and everything did not take long to be served. They have a nice selection of desserts with a recommendation of wines that match with them. We both work in the catering industry and have to give a big compliment for this place! Everything was perfect, we definitely recommend it if you are in Lagos.   We got an entre mix starter and fried calamari ring. Main course tamboril (monkfish) , sapateira (crab) and cherne (wreckfish). We ended with lime cake, chocolate cake and fig cake.   Please do not go for dinner here! Prices are absolutely outrageous, significantly more expensive than anything around. The restaurant was by the beach but the view was not even great. Their menu is extremely limited, their “fresh” seafood is not local and completely overpriced. We got the Seabass which was not bad but for the price you could get much better. The grilled tiger prawns I do have to say were very delicious. We did try the local dessert called “Dom Rodrigo”, which originated in the Algarve region. It was very delicious and I recommend trying it, if you were unfortunate enough to end up here for dinner.   I don't eat octopus every day, but this octopus was the best octopus I've ever had. I was speechless. Not only it's fresh but the chef's skills deserve standing ovation.   For the entry, I work in a fish shop and the shrimp salad was frozen, tasteless. The salmon slices had no taste either. the salad is served with small peas carrots and corn that seems to come out of cans, it was very school canteen.   Design of the restaurant is really nice and it has a nice view and vibe. Prices are high which fits the premium experience. Reason for the 2 stars was the food. We ordered the hamburger and only got a piece of meat with a fried egg on a further empty plate. Aperantly this is their view of a hamburger, however they could have mentioned it on the menu. I don't want to ask next time I come in a restaurant and order a hamburger if it comes with a bread roll. Although from the reaction we got from the staff after addressing it this is exactly what people should do. Long story short.   Restaurant with amazing view on the ocean. The quality was good, maybe a bit too expensive for what it was. The male waiters were super friendly, one woman really acted like she couldn't care less, which was a bit of a bummer.   We were lucky to have a table without reservation. Great table on the terrace with a magnificent view over the sea. Service was very quick, friendly and fluent in English, our orders were taken very quickly and our drinks were brought almost immediately after. They explained the different fish they served that day and what they can be compared to.   The restaurant looks luxury on the photos but in real life it's horrible! The waitresses weren't really nice to us and looked like they don't care. The steak was tasteless and was dry(we ordered medium). My sister ordered a baby squids and they weren't even washed. They were crunchy like full of sand. Highly don't recommend.   We had 2 fantastic meals here. The first to celebrate my wife’s birthday, the second for the final lunch on our holiday. On both occasions the food was exceptional. The views are wonderful so it’s a great place to have lunch but evening meals are atmospheric so I’d advise going twice! The fish stew with clams is a must. We got the olives, fried shrimp and vegetable soup to start. Olives were one of the tastiest I have had so far in Portugal, the soup was hearty and the shrimp was so fresh. We got the fish fillets and the octopus with clams as our meal. It was the best octopus I have had l. So flavorful and tender. I could cut it with a butter knife.   Good was extremely well done! I highly recommend the octopus tentacles, they were super tender and well seasoned, I also had baby squids and they were as good as the octopus.   We knew it's a very popular restaurant so we made a reservation in advance, but after we got there unfortunately the girl who answered the call didn't write us down, however the staff were very friendly and immediately placed us at a table. I had some difficulty choosing and the lady who served us nicely explained to my questions. I eventually ordered fish soup which was with enough qty as starter and very tasty. The octopus as main was cooked very well. My experience with octopus was that it always tasted like rubber, but here it was marinated and cooked so well, the meat was very soft and tasted just like meat. But for some ppl including me it could be too greasy in the end as they used a lot of olive oil. The qty was also a lot which made me so full afterwards. The egg pudding as dessert was a perfect ending. And my bf ordered strawberry with ice cream and trust me, their ice cream tasted like silk, so so smooth and soft and not too sweet. Anyway overall an unforgettable dining experience to end our trip in Lagos.   It took us longer than 45 minutes to seat 12 people (including 6 young kids). It was worth the wait. The service did not disappoint. We were taken care of by a true gentleman called "Francisco" who spared no effort in explaining the dishes and quantities to help feed 12 hungry mouths. I eventually found out he is the owner.   On the recommendation of a friend we walked to this lovely restaurant for lunch. We took the chance of not booking and we're lucky to be treated to a fab table on the terrace. The staff was nothing but helpful, efficient and friendly. I had a huge tasty tiger prawn which was cooked to slightly rare and when I asked if that was how they come, they offered to cook it more for me. It came back within minutes and was even tastier. My hubbie had a huge sesame crusted tuna which was fresh and light. The chips were yummy too as was the bottle of white wine. We enjoyed it so much that we had the lime pie (a bit too gelatinous for my liking) and the chocolate moose which was good. For €50 including tip we were very happy.
