  Myself and my partner had 2 fish & chips specials, special price served between 3 and 5.30pm. the staff were so nice and very attentive to us and our little dog Lily was offered water several times. The fish and chips were delicious as was the mushy peas and tartar sauce. The chips were hand cut and very tasty and the batter on fish was really light and non greasy. We will definitely be back again. The view off the marina is amazing and the quay is a real sun trap.   What a relaxing experience it was to have a lunch at the Quay. I was lucky enough to get a table outside and enjoy the perfect weather. I started with a tasteful smoothie.   It's an English restaurant that served us breakfast. It was still quite expensive for the price, but it was excellent. I took the eggs Benedictine with ham, with an extra bacon. So everything was on point. My colleagues had breakfast with workers, even with pudding. So they seemed to be satisfied as well. The atmosphere was relatively quiet because we were in off-season, but there was some Christmas music, so we can see that they really wanted to create an atmosphere for the occasion.   Certainly the most unfriendly restaurant in Lagos. There was an extremely disrespectful woman at the door who literally prevented my wife and I from sitting down. Instead of asking us to sit down and order our drinks, she displayed an abrasive, angry demenour saying "it will take half an hour to one hour to serve any food." There was no welcome, no effort whatsoever to even allow us to sit down even though there were tons on empty tables and chairs! As we walked out,I told this woman that I will complain, at which point her tone completely changed. She obviously did not think we would complain. She said: "Sir, what I meant was you can sit down, but the food wil take long". We have never experienced anything like this anywhere in the world!l This is clearly a management issue - please hire people who are professional and respectful.   This was a very disappointing meal.... We had booked our Christmas Eve dinner in advance, and paid the deposit. We arrived to find a very jolly atmosphere and our reserved table decorated for the holiday. It was off to a good start! But, sadly, it went downhill from there. Our food took over an hour to get to us. We were left with empty glasses, hungry tummies and quite bored. I had to ask for some bread to fill the time. When our food finally did arrive it was really subpar. We had placed our order early from the set Christmas menu, but what we got was not what we were promised, and certanily not worth the value. My husband ordered the rib eye steak, but ended up with a very dry, overcooked flank steak. I ordered the lamb chops, which were small and overcooked. Overall, it really lacked flavor, and was overpriced for what we got. It was a disappointing Christmas Eve meal. We wish we would have gone elsewhere.   It was one of the worse services I’ve ever received. The 4 of us waited at the door (without even being acknowledged for about 8 minutes) while two white couples were taken in. A simple, “be right there” or a “hi guys” would have had sufficed. We waited 20 minutes for the menu. But, the breaking point was waiting 45 minutes for the food. Simple fish and chips, one grilled fish. I asked for the check when I saw parties (yes, more than two tables) that came way after us got their food before and we just waited and waited. And they got :::drumrolls::: fish and chips!!! You see servers checking on other tables but not us. The worse is when the manager or owner didn’t care about us or the situation. When I wanted to pay for whatever we ate and leave (at that point it was 1.5 hours of waiting) she said the food is about to come out.   If there was an option for negative start I would have given then that. I felt they discriminated us because of the color of our skin. For the very beginning they didn’t want to give us. Seat when we pointed an open seat they sat us. The food took an hour to come after the appetizer. For the first half hour no waiter greater us or took our water or even gave us menue. It was unfortunate that an extremely beligerent young lady was making an unnecessary scene during our visit.   Quay is right on the marina. Great people watching, and excellent service. We were usually there for breakfast. Traditional English, or American, great granola with Greek yogurt and berries. Fresh bread, croissants, hot chocolate that was topped with whipped cream and real chocolately, not a mix. Scrambled eggs on toast, smoked salmon, grilled tomato and baked beans.   Completely hit and miss. Tonight I ordered a gluten free burger and it arrived on TWO BAGUETTES and with none of the condiments it was meant to come with. Obviously I was shocked so I said it wasn't what I'd ordered and I asked for something else. The waiter was kindly offering me the menu to select something new from when the supervisor whose service leaves much to be desired marched straight up to me and said 'THIS FOOD IS GOING TO WASTE' And got majorly agitated with me and started being very confrontational saying I was wasting food and I was essentially being picky. I'm not a picky eater by any standards but when I order a burger that's supposed to be gluten free I expect it to arrive not on baguettes? I'm not a very confrontational person but I tried to stand my ground, but this horrid woman was not backing down! Eventually we had to leave because she was eye rolling, complaining about us to other staff very loudly, and making me extremely uncomfortable. When I asked 'would you expect a burger to come on two baguettes' she said it wasn't her problem because she's not gluten free! So if you do have gluten or dietary restrictions you've been warned! Also, to think that this woman made it to supervisor is beyond me. She has the hospitality of a dead cat. If I were the owner I'd seriously considering letting her go or demoting her because we weren't the only customers she was making uncomfortable.   I'm amazed to see a few bad reviews of Quay as I've been there many times and have never been disappointed. It's a great location and the decor is very nice, so there is always a nice feeling when I visit. Last night I went to see a movie and then called in for Sunday roast on the way home. I was greeted by the lovely Jess and received my first refreshing pint as soon as I sat down. The roast pork was wonderful and came with all the trimmings. It was hard to finish it all, such was the size of the meal. The waiter advised that the plate was hot so to be careful, which is more can be said for some of the nearby restaurants that served meals on ice cold plates in the winter. It's great value for money and I look forward to going back again and again and again!   First visit here to have the Sunday roast. Attractive restaurant with great food. We all really enjoyed it. The service, however, was beyond slow. It may be they were short staffed and that they were incredibly busy but it took 30 minutes to get our drinks and we never did receive dessert. We will try it again.   Couldn't fault food but service was worse I've had in years. Booked table for 9 ... Shown to table and left sitting for 25 mins at a dirty table before being asked what we wanted to drink. Asked waitress what the specials were... She ran off and didn't come back for another 10 mins ... Finally got to eat something at 9.45 .. seems a very busy place so I reckon they had a off night ...   We usually love this restaurant but tonight one of us had a pie served extremely cold in the middle and so we sent it back. I didn’t want another as the pie was chicken and it really put me off being cold. The reason for the bad review is the service we received. No one seemed to care we only had one main. Very little in terms of an apology. The children’s meal was in no way worth the price. I asked for the bill and whilst my meal I didn’t eat wasn’t on, no one acknowledged this or apologised for it. And I then had to ask for the free ice creams that were supposed to come with the kids meal. So surprised and disappointed, the food and service we received was absolutely below average yet the most expensive meal we have had. (And we only had one main!!!!)   We ate at Quay once before and the service and food were average. We gave it a second try. The service was very slow. After the food was delivered, it was hard to flag someone down for service needs. The food was average for the price. The chips were very good. Unfortunately, we must have left too much Heinz Ketchup on our plate because the rude manager/server who cleared our dishes told us "my what a waste" "that is why people serve those little squeezy things." We apologized and were embarrassed. We only ate half of our chips, so we did put a little more ketchup on the plate than needed based upon what we used. Still, it was no more than two teaspoons left over. We spent over €60,00 on lunch. We will never be back to Quay! Tchau Euro! Lovely position adjacent to Lagos Marina, fine choice of dishes on the menu, nice cool beer, and courteous, pleasant staff. One of us had the prawn salad, and two of us had the home-made steak pie with mash and a selection of vegetables.I can honestly say that the pie was one of the best that I have tasted for a long time; quality ingredients, great flavour and a large portion. And the banoffi dessert was a delicious work of art! The prices are commensurate with the quality of the location, the fayre, and the passion put into the experience that Quay Lagos wants its customers to have. Recommended!   We were on a short New Year break and were looking forward to our evening. In the end we were disappointed. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. There was a party atmosphere. The meal was ok. For us the disco spoilt it. We were unfortunately seated in front of the speakers and would have preferred some light background music until the meal was over. As it was loud disco music made conversation difficult. Three requests to turn the music down were complied with for about two minutes and then the music went up again.   We just tried this restaurant after walking past it for a year. I had the daily pie special which was very good and a reasonable price. Veggies, fries and meat pie. My husband had one of the salads, I believe it was the Mexican Salad. Although most of it was fresh and well prepared the avocado was as hard as a rock. Our thinking is that if you don't have a ripe avocado, don't prepare the salad with a hard one. The portion also given the price- it was literally .35 less than my meal was small given it was not a side salad. The restaurant is very clean and has a great view. Some people complaining about the food and some giving 4☆ only even though they say the experience was great. We had great food, very well prepared and delivered by very nice staff.   Love this place, have been before on previous visits to Portugal. The food has always been faultless and the staff lovely though this time but of a weird waiter who couldn't differentiate a pint and a pudding and the 2nd time we visited on this stay we were seated and he said that people would be able to come in to eat until 7.30 because we were there and hadn't booked... Also when we asked for the bill he was doing everything but getting the bill, in the end because I wasn't well, my partner had to go to the the bar and pay. Understand they are fried but when the oil pools in the bottom of the bowl they are served in, it makes you wonder how clean is the oil in the fryer.   The owner is lovely. The food is decent. But make no mistake about it, this is a tourist's dream. The food and servers are mostly British and caters for a British clientele. We were served slow, and our food took a looong time to come out. Portugal is relatively inexpensive, this bar bistro was pricey all things considered. Nice place to relax after spending time at the Quay, but more so for tourists looking for a "Western" experience, than for people like us. (Traduzido pelo Google) O proprietário é adorável.   I came to this exquisite restraunt with a family of 8, apart from the small 2 minutes wait my party were escorted to our table hassle free. The drinks, starters, main courses and desserts all were brought to the table in a quick yet delicate manner. Overall it was a great night out and would seriously recommend this place for an enjoyable meal out.   Worst service you will receive in Lagos. Avoid. Do not be swayed by the marina position, this is a smoke screen for 45mins wait for a simple wrap and an average burger. When we approached the manager, simply to say how long would our food be...his answer was "everyone else is waiting, you can see we are busy" Comical. The manager must be new in the game, as he wouldn't last 2 minutes in a more competitive environment. I asked him a second time after he stormed off, and he questioned when we ordered...which embarrassing for him after printing out the order receipt it showed 45mins. Burger was average.   Menu like in Weatherspoon. Fish fingers from kids menu staight from frizer from Island . Service was very good stuff very friendly.   Good little bar restaurant right on the marina at Lagos. Strange menu in that you had to order breakfast until 12.00 sharp and then you had to have lunch. No concessions.
