  Small restaurant that is a bit hidden between the surrounding more tourist-oriented restaurants with big terraces. But it's definitely worth visiting this restaurant when you are in Lagos. We chose to eat from the tapas menu but they also have a menu with dishes for 1 person. All of the tapas we ate were really good and fresh. I definitely recommend the grilled squid. They also have a very big choice of local wines. Although we were the only people eating in the restaurant the waiter was very friendly and created a very good atmosphere.   A must try when in Lagos! A Petisquiera caught our eye when we saw their dessert menu so we made a reservation for the following day at 7PM. This meal was soooooo good, they had an extensive list of tapas which we loved (major shoutout for the smoked cod!), great selection of mains and options for dessert! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service so much that we came back the next night on the last day of our trip in Lagos! It’s definitely a bit of a splurge price wise for Lagos but worth it if you want to treat yourself. They also gave great wine recommendations!   The food was very good and the overall experience was good and we enjoyed a good meal. However, at the beginning it looked like they didn't want to serve us (maybe because we are not tourists). We had a child and a baby sleeping in the stroller so we asked to sit inside. The waiter refused, even though there was no one inside (and after there were no tables available outside they started to sit people inside). And even sitting outside it looked like we were not very welcome there. At the end of the meal the waiter was being nicer to us at least. We had the tuna ordered rare, they do it medium rare as a preset. It was perfect. The chevice and calamaries were awesome.   Dined here on our first night in Lagos - we walked by during the afternoon and they accommodated a table for us for that evening. We ate the cheese board, eggplant with goats cheese, tiger prawn with saffron risotto and the cod fish chickpea dish. All the dishes were yum - the saffron risotto was our favourite!   We had a wonderful dinner at this beautiful restaurant. The service was absolutely incredible, our waiter was so engaged, giving us tips (Everyone please try the smoked codfish, it was divine!) for dishes and his wine recommendation was great too. They really care about making your evening great, we would definitely come again. And the food was incredible ! From the smoked codfish with mint sauce, the flavors were so unique and delicious, over duck breast being prepared in a perfect way to the Sirloin which was cooked perfectly medium rare. It is a bit more pricey than other restaurants in Lagos but if you want to splurge a bit and spend a nice evening it is definitely worth it. Starters range between 10-19€ and main dishes go up to 22€. Thank you for this delicious meal, we hope to come back some day!   This restaurant was recommended by a couple we met in lisbon and tried it. It lived up to the hype. I strongly recommend the fried shrimps. I had the beef cheeks.   Amazing restaurant with a lot of wines at their disposition. Menu is not too big which usually means the food they have is good and it is super good. We had to wait a bit long for our wine, I think they forgot, but okay no problem, other than that the staff was friendly and food and wine recommended to is was also super!   Wow we were going for pizza when we saw this small restaurant with nicely decked out tables. The staff were friendly the whole time. The food was amazing, we took three tapas dishes: sea bass ceviche, cod and prawns. The first two were soft like sushi. You could eat the whole tapas menu here, what an art of it they've made it.   Fantastic restaurant we visited twice for dinner. Beautiful food for what we consider to be reasonably priced for the quality, quantity with excellent service. Highlights: smoked codfish (beautiful flavour bomb!), sea bass ceviche, grilled squid (tapas item), and the prawn risotto. Basque cheesecake tart was excellent too. Two or max three tapas items for two is sufficient with a bread basket. Reservations recommended, but we also got a table for two at 8:30pm on a Tuesday (September) reasonably quickly.   We had visited a few restaurants in the Algarve area specifically Lagos and A Petisqueria food taste’s was unbelievable and by far the best one of all the restaurants we had visited. We started our dinner with The Smoke Cod fish what an incredible combination of flavours. I had the Octopus which was cooked to a perfection and the perfect combination with the batata purée.   Absolutely sensational! We were fortunate enough to grab a table at this charming little resturant and what a gem of a find it was! We tried the local algrave Paxa rosé which was gorgeous. We had the buratta and sea bass ceviche to start and both were flavoured beautifully. Stand out was the pineapple puree on the sea bass! To follow we chose the beef cheek stew which was so incredibly tender and the duck breast which was so juicy and delicious. We were also tempted into having a pudding which were both delightful.   The resturant was busy but the host quick actions to separate table for 4 into 2 tables each for 2 and we where seated in less than 5 mins, the starters where excellent specially the burrata felt really fresh. The sirloin was okay, but the tiger prawn risotto was the best, the seasoning is a mouth watering recipe. All in all the staff where friendly and helpful, the food is very good too. I would definitely come again to the same restaurant when visiting Lagos again. The excuse was covid situation but the reality is the disorganisation and the way they have to treat everyone as a simple "tourist". They brought us a wrong order.   Very original menu based on portuguese traditional kitchen but reinvented. The menu doesn't have that many options though the ones they have are very interesting. The furniture of the terrace could be better and more comfortable. The location is great because it's in the main street but has a big problem: the bar in front has so loud music that it's uncomfortable to eat outside. That's not their fault but it's a bit annoying.   DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR... EAT ELSEWHERE! We booked a table for eight and while our experience started well... everything started going wrong when the food arrived. The restaurant got my order wrong - completely the wrong dish. I ordered sea bass and got octopus. I said I would help them out by eating that instead of waiting another 20/30 minutes for another sea bass. I was expecting some form of thank you/ gratitude: a coffee, dessert or my meal free. It was their mistake. When the bill came, the manager blamed my friend for asking about octopus... I clearly saw the manager write down sea bass. The manager then called my friend a “liar” to his face. I added that I was trying to help the restaurant by not wasting food but the manager looked at me saying it would only take a few minutes to prepare a fresh sea bass dish. Now who’s the liar!? I wouldn’t be angry but he smiled at me while he said this. To add insult to injury, the restaurant had also added extra waters and breads to our bill which had not arrived. After more arguing with us over a few euros of bread and water, the restaurant finally removed extra items. It was a few euros so the restaurant’s behaviour was petty by this point. I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food looked good but was actually quite bland. I could forgive that but I cannot overlook the rude and aggressive behaviour of the management.   Great restaurant, fabulous service, outstanding food! 4 years later, I must update my review... It continues to have a high standard of quality, both on food and in service. The servers are extremely kind and considerate, and what appreciate the most... they give you space! Case in point I finished my meal still with a full glass of wine... took me a while to finish it, and only when I was done they came over and asked if I wanted dessert... this is attention to detail, kindness and respect - you truly enjoy your meal.   Best restaurant we have tried in Lagos so far. The service is pretty spot on and the food is delicious. A bit more pricey than the average restaurants in Lagos but it's worth it! Our waiter gave us plenty of tips regarding our choice of wine and we enjoyed our food and drinks as well as the whole evening very much!   This restaurant messed up 2 of 4 of our orders, brought completely different dishes than ordered. It happens, not the end of the world. It's how it was handled that matters. The 2 dishes that weren't originally messed up (seared tuna) were clearly placed under a heat lamp while the other 2 dishes took another 20+ minutes to be corrected. This was after a 45+ minute wait for the original dishes that were made in error. The tuna was obviously completely over cooked by that point. Would had thought something would be taken off the bill or complimentary desserts offered. Instead we only received a bottle of water while we waited for the original dishes to be cooked.   Very poor service. Staff standing at the door like security to ask/demand if you have a reservation. We did but despite a half empty restaurant we (a family of 6 plus a baby) were sat at the very back and under a drip in the roof. Asked to move and their response was 'other people are fine to sit there'. Not a single friendly or welcoming face from and anyone working there. We left before ordering.   Hit and miss. My olives and bread both tasted like they came from a mid-range supermarket. Chilli and lemongrass prawns were beautifully plump and perfectly cooked, but without a discernible trace of lemongrass or chilli.
