  We liked this restaurant so much that we visited it twice in one day! We were probably one of their first customers and one of their last. Haha. We were particularly charmed by Salzena(I hope I’m getting the spelling, right!) who was our server both times. She made some amazing cocktails, served and checked in on us constantly. A one-woman army it seemed like. We had an amazing time, the food was soul satisfying and the drinks? Well, they had us asking for more. Salzena needs a promotion, Mare! I hope you give it to her.   Uncontrolled and rude staff harassment on the outside pavement, trying to lure customers in. Food is very bland with staff that barely understand what they're meant to be doing.   I have lived in Lagos for 1 and a half years and this was the only bad meal I've had! The fish was so heavily fried and bad quality, it was almost inedible. I think maybe not fresh as our of season. Honestly Lagos is epic for fish and Portuguese hospitality it great, this place really doesn't cut it.   We would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The all you can eat buffet featured tuna, salmon prawns, swordfish, sea bass all cooked beautifully.   Amazing views, lots of space. The buffet food was wonderful and great quality BBQ meat. The only reasons I couldn't give 5 stars are that we had to chase staff for some water we ordered, I never received my sangria I ordered and the chocolate mousse had been over whipped and just tasted like butter.   Very good cuisine. At the BBQ was unfortunately understaffed. You have to be better prepared and definitely need 2 people to take care of the grill.   If I could give 10 stars, I would. The food was perfect, delicious and worth the money. The service was very patient, helpfull, attentive, nice and all in one very friendly. This place was clean and the atmosphere very relaxing. I enjoyed every minute. This place made me wish for a second stomach so that I could eat more of this delicious masterpiece.   View is stunning. Music is very good. But service is awful. We were one of the first customers in the restaurant and our food took 40 mins to come out. Our drinks took 20 mins and that was because we had to chase them for it. When the food arrived the chicken stroganoff was cold, chewy and generally awful. My sons fries were the scraps.   They have a buffet with fish and another kind of meat for 19.90€ (adults) and 11,90€(kids). The meat is grilled in front of you and it tastes amazing. They also have rice,thai noodles and vegetables. We ate here twice. First time we tried cataplana(a stew with fish), which also was delicious but it has their own recipe with a stick of cinnamon, and it kinda changes the taste. For us was anyway good. I don't know how the original recipe is, but we also ate cataplana at another restaurant without cinnamon stick. The bathroom has a diaper changing table, for those with babies. I saw very engaged workers. I appreciate that. They speak many languages , you can ask kindly if they speak your own language.   We wanted some fish, well couldn’t be fresher as the restaurant is literally above the fresh market.   This is a great place to come up for a cocktail or a glass of wine to overlook the marina and Lagos. Beautiful views! However, the food is another story. The menu jumps around from burgers to Asian noodles to Portuguese traditional food. None of which are done justice. In some cases, the food is over seasoned with overwhelming Asian flavors that are neither Thai nor Chinese. The salad is the same whether it is the house or Caesar salad.— which is actually one of the better things on the menu aside from the french fries. The atmosphere is fine. The music is as eclectic as the menu but with the view, a few glasses of wine, and the right company, everything is forgotten! Would recommend for drinks, but definitely not a meal. The name is very misguided as you come here expecting amazing seafood, especially given that it is above the Mercado— instead, you are presented with an Asian/American/Portuguese-ish menu.   The drinks were horrible. My mom ordered a frozen margarita and I kid you not it came out as this white drink of basically blended ice with a hint of lime. My drink was dilute too. The 3 stars are simply because the place has a nice view, and the goat cheese appetizer was AMAZING. Then they brought the food which was worst taste ever, in fact I had to ask for a hot water to add to the soup to make it bearable to eat which still wasn’t bearable.   An absolute gem of a place. We visited for the all you can eat grill buffet and were sad that we hadn't stumbled across it sooner! For €16.99 at lunch and €24.99 in the evening you can opt for the buffet which offers all can eat salads, potatoes, noodles, plus freshly grilled (in front of your eyes) meat and fish which includes steak, chicken, prawns, salmon, tuna and swordfish. I tried the salmon, chicken and Tuna across two visits, while my other half had the swordfish and steak. All were beautifully cooked and delicious! Mare also has a beautiful Rooftop terrace which offers views across the entire harbour. It is very easy to miss as it is located above the mercato - there will be staff handing out leaflets below and to signpost guest upstairs.   We've dined here twice this week. First time it was busy had to wait a long time for food but it was good although the bought us red instead of white wine. Second time they got our food requests all wrong brought us glasses of wine instead of bottle and charged us for a more expensive bottle on our bill at which time we gave up. The food was good. But most disappointed to hear that they don't by the fish from the local market. They get it from a cash and carry up the road.   This place is a must if you're visiting Lagos. It sits above a large indoor market that sells freshly caught seafood and freshly butchered meat. There's also a wide variety of other foods too. The restaurant itself has the best view in town. You overlook the main road, the river, the marina, and the ocean. Perfect for a coffee and a spot of lunch. The food is brilliant, everything is prepared so fresh. The staff are very friendly and efficient. I came back the next day, I wish I could start every day with a coffee and that view.   I want to award this place more, but I really can't. The location is awesome and all staff were great (they deserved more stars), but the food was just a letdown. First of all, the portion sizes are way too big. A full plate may look luxurious, but in the end you end up struggling with everything on there. And the quality is often not all that. Both our starters were okay, but with a salad that did not go with either of the dishes. My main was not bad for taste, but heavily overcooked and with a sauce that was far too sweet and did not go with any fish. Again with a huge salad, which was swimming in dressing. My girlfriend's chicken was disappointing in taste, regardless the small mountain of fries it was served under. And on top of it all... the sangria looked nice, but was overly sweet. They had a great deal fir a cataplana for 2 for £22 which is an absolute bargain as you get so much seafood! Service was quick, nice music.   Amazing views out across the Lagos marina. The first time we ate here it was summer and busy and the service was desultory. Our Swiss burger was brilliant, however the salad was swamped in a dressing, the lettuce was gritty and, the advertised "french fries" turned out to be crinkle cut chips . We decided to give them a second chance mainly because of the location, this time in winter. The waiter was lovely and we found out the chef was Nepalese so we ordered a chicken curry and a prawn curry. Both amazingly delicious, spicy and filling. Ah, redemption! The staff are always welcoming and the prices are surprisingly affordable given the prime location. The food has been consistently good across a variety of different dishes ranging traditional portugese fish dishes to burgers and and asian influced meals. I will definately be returning.   Delicious food and friendly service with lovely views over the bay. We had tuna carpaccio, garlic prawns, salmon and octopus; all of which tasted very good and we really enjoyed it. I asked for medium rare salmon (as advised by another reviewer) and it was cooked to perfection. Such a relaxed vibe to this restaurant. Later on, we were given little blankets by the manager when the wind had picked up - a lovely touch.   Salmon & prawn duo was spectacular looking. Quite tasty. I don't cook our salmon all the way through so I found it a tad on the dry side.   We tried this restaurant for lunch and we were not disappointed. We'd normally not spend so much on lunch, but for seafood it was a good deal. We both enjoyed the mixed seafood grill plate for two.   We had xmas day lunch on the gorgeous rooftop overlooking the marina and sea. The food was fairly good i had cappachio and started with the shrimp soup which only had one shrimp in .. it was good though. My son had a mega burger which he said was very good .   Nice spot for an afternoon drink! The bar overlooks the marina and the ocean, making it perfect for relaxing. The coffee is the same you find in most places in Portugal, arabica beans, burnt, and bitter. It's a disappointment really, but this is the standard around here... That said, I can't really fault this place too much as the service was prompt and while we didn't have any food, a neighbouring table ordered some seafood that looked out of a dream!   Been here a couple of times now. Great location on top of the fish market in Lagos. Excellent views over the marina and over the river towards Meia Praia. Modem bar / restaurant, reasonably priced and good food. Both times we have eaten here we've gone for the buffet menu - €20 for whatever you can eat from the buffet. Plenty of meat / fish choices all cooked to order on the BBQ. Lots of salad and fruit as well, just keep going back to get X whatever you want. Children are usually discounted and the staff are very friendly. Our kids really like this restaurant and I'm sure we'll visit again when we're next in Lagos.   This has got to be the most awful restaurant experience I've ever had! The "sea skewer" we ordered was completely rubbery and dry, the sauce is the cheapest you can find, and the dish tasted horrible. I let the staff know I would not pay for it, because all I ate was a sample of each fish, and every one of them were completely dry and horrible. The first waiter agreed with me and took the food out apologising. Another waiter came along and said she tasted my dish and said it was "fine"??!!! And that I had to pay for it. They didn't offer me something else to eat, but demanded I payed! I refused! The owner came after a while and told me to go home to my country, shouting and screaming that I had to pay the bill, or else he would call the police. I told him the first waiter agreed with me, but he just kept on calling me names and shouting. Never, EVER! The normal menu looks interesting if slightly more expensive than some other places but the view is outstanding. The staff are attentive and the food is well cooked and the salads are kept well stocked. The house red wine was superb, slipped down much too easily.
