  We went on a Monday and it was very busy. Luckily we were able to get a table for the six of us. To be honest the service started off a bit slow as so busy but it was worth the wait as the food we ordered was very good. Nice friendly staff and the music being played was also very good.   Missed authentic Mexican food. Wow. Such a wonderful find. Felt like we were back home. Flavors excellent. Of note the tacos were served as large filled tacos then crisped on the grill. The taquitos were more like what we would traditionally call tacos… soft small corn tortillas with filling on top to grab and eat. Great margaritas as well!   We wandered to the Green Room looking for some lunch and were pleasantly surprised! Safe to say, this was some of the best food I have had in Lagos, if not all of Portugal! The fish tacos were divine and the Verde Pork was tender and delicious. The interior is very charming and prices were reasonable. Strongly recommend!   If I was just reviewing tonight’s menu I’d give a three at best but we have had many great meals here so don’t want to be too harsh - every restaurant can have an off night and tonight was that night. We have always preferred Beats and Burritos and weren’t impressed with Green Room at the old location - definitely changed our minds the first time we ate at new location and really felt like they stepped it up food wise. Tonight though, service and food was meh - no one seemed to really care much about making diners happy and I’ve waited my share of tables. As far as food, we ordered Chili Verde which has been one of our favorites in the past. Tonight it was soupy, not particularly tender and there were no beans, pico, jalapeños or tortillas. These items are on the menu but I was told by the person at the register that the dish does not come with these items??? I’ll admit we’ve had to almost beg for tortillas with this dish in the past but all else was there. Not sure why bringing a couple of tortillas should be such a challenge by the way - you have tacos, you have burritos - you obviously have tortillas available and the dish screams for them. I’m sure we will be back but if no improvement next time I guess we just wait for Beats to open back up in a bit.   We found The Green House because we wanted to eat vegetarian. Upon arriving we were greeted friendly by the staff. The outside looks cute and the inside looks fine. They have a lot of cocktails and beers. We ordered the vegetarian burrito, which was delicious. And the taco salad, which was delicious, but not really a salad, since it was more like a mountain of nachos. Nonetheless it was still delicious. My friend was extremely satisfied with the vegetarian burrito and even rated it a 10 because it had just the ingredients he liked (rice and sweet potato). Portions were big. Almost everything was perfect, except for the loud music which didn’t really match the vibe. Would definitely visit again!   I’ve read all the reviews about this place. I’m a Latino from California, this place would be run of town for serving food being passed as Mexican food. I went there just to see what the rave was about, order an enchilada plate what a joke, couldn’t eat it, it was full of coriander!!! Who ever heard of coriander in Mexican food and mozzarella cheese (which is Italian) way different taste. Sorry but no way! If you want to imitate the food, I’ve suggest watching some u tube videos, maybe and I say maybe you’ll learn.   Oh my gosh what an amazing restaurant! It's been over a year since my family has had Mexican food and this place totally got the spot! I'm only a little ashamed that we went 3 nights in a row while visiting Laps! Who knows the next time we might have a chance for great food, a wonderful atmosphere and amazing staff!   We just retire to Lagos from Texas and were craving a taste of home. This food fit the bill. Great atmosphere and good food. I am from San Antonio and I like to believe I know good Mexican food. The food here passes my test. It’s not TexMex but it is very good. It’s more like CaliMex. I got the enchiladas verde, although they were not authentic but tasty. Marinated chicken was delicious. No tomatillo sauce but good none the less. We also got the chips and dips which were great! Guac, spicy black bean concoction, and another tasty bean dip. Chips were authentic crispy and flavorful. They also use cilantro and chili powder, which I love. The food fixes my Jones! The atmosphere is chill and eclectic with good reggae playing, if not a bit too loud!   Chaotic service. Friendly staff when you eventually got their attention, but our drinks arrived 20 minutes apart, after asking about them twice and our food arrived with a 15 minute gap between us and the friends we were with. Worse, the lady on the table next to us ordered a vegetarian enchilada and got served a chicken one, which she didn't realise until a long way into it. She was a vegetarian (as are we) and was clearly very upset by what had happened. Food was ok, but ruined by the chaos and the fear we might find chunks of dead flesh in our enchilada.   Fairly decent Mexican food. Not a lot of spice/heat. Salsa is good, but no heat. Guac could use salt, also garlic and lime. Bean dip would be better puréed and served warm. Fish tacos were tasty.   CASH ONLY Since this place has a 4.7 rating, we decided to check it out. Surprising that such a large restaurant (2 dining rooms and outside seating) with a full staff (at least 8 front & kitchen when we were there) only takes cash, but prices don't reflect that. Friendly, efficient service and charming setting for this Mexican restaurant. I enjoyed my Spicy Avocado Margarita, the first time I've had avocado in a cocktail. The prices were more American style. I chose the Fish Tacos, which said it had salad with the fried hake and mango on the English menu, which I interpreted as multiple veggies (maybe cabbage, tomatoes, etc.), but alas, was only shredded iceberg lettuce. He ordered the carne burrito, which came with tortilla chips and had it with a beer. The food was a solid 4 stars. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about. I wouldn't necessarily return for a meal, since for that price point, I would hope for much better food. But it would be a fun place to meet friends for drinks.   Slowest service in the world. Waited for about an hour to get the main dish. Had to remind to bring our water. They had so many waiters running around and we kept being served by different ones, so it was confusing. At the end they were very apologetic about being slow and saying that they had many orders. But if you can't handle many orders, you shouldn't take that many tables. We ordered chips and dips and asked if the dips had any raw onion. They said the salsas didn't have raw onion. When we got the dips, one of them definitely had pieces of uncooked onion and the other one tasted like the onion was blended in.   I love Mexican food, travelled there a fair bit and cook tacos and ceviche at home. Unfortunately besides the name of dishes this place doesn’t have anything to do with Mexican food. Tortillas in tacos were fried and oily (!) the fish taco is a giant deep fried piece of fish beached on couple of tortillas, looks like fish and chips without chips. The cocktails are far below par, ice cubes when it should be crushed and way too much sugar. I’m sure the young staff tries hard but lack in training (and some in manners) I’m giving 2 star out of one as we were less hungry after than before but it’s pretty generous.   First time in the new location and it did not disappoint. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Food was great. Super tasty! If you like a little heat then I’d definitely recommend the jalapeño poppers for starters and the basil gimbet cocktail was really nice.   The food was fantastic and delicious. Inside the restaurant was hot and stuffy and we weren't given the option to sit outside(where it was far cooler) even though the two groups behind us were.   Not very often I give 5 star reviews!! Half expected it to be a texmex style restaurant, but I was so wrong!! The food is legit Mexican food full of rich flavours, freshness and a bit of zing, it reminded me of time spent in Mexico!! Portion size was decent for the price. Not many places I would return to every day on a holiday but im eager to try the whole menu 😂 All of the staff were friendly and accommodating, our server Aldrin was buzzing around the place having great fun with every table he looked after with a big smile on his face. The cocktails were next level, even the basic Margherita was as nice if not better than any others I've tried. Ambience was great, playlist was great, my only criticism (bacause it cant always be perfect) was maybe to have more Mexican themed decor in the place to add to the overall experience.   New location, place was very busy. The team were very welcoming. We were told 30 mins wait time (managed to have a great Margarita whilst waiting) seated within 25. Food was genuinely delicious, waiter suggested we had ordered too much and to take a few things off.   Best Taco’s I’ve ever eaten!! wow! I wish I had more now. Service was ok by some members and exceptional from others which is why I’ve rated it 5/5. They also didn’t have a lot of things on the menu as they had opened 3 weeks ago which was understandable and considering some of the things we wanted were in stock. Over all the beef taco was incredible, the cheese was melted and beef cooked to perfection. We also got the corn chips to share which was ok nothing special but still nice!   This was by far our favorite place to go in Lagos. Though it seems weird to come to Portugal and get Mexican food, we didn't care. The service and the food were both delicious. We went back again and again during our 2 week stay. The best dish is their birria tacos. They are hearty and flavorful. The margaritas were very good as well. All of them can be made "spicy" which features their chili infused tequila. The quesadillas and other tacos are also really good, but nothing could really beat those birria tacos. The only thing to be aware of is that the outside seating is limited and they only take cash. But, it was all worth it. I would have sat on the ground for those Birria tacos. We were not disappointed with The Green Room’s classic margarita and chicken quesadilla. We will return to go through their menu this winter here in Lagos.   TexMex in Lagos—okay. We really enjoyed our lunch. The fish tacos were amazing. We really enjoyed the different salsas. Nothing was overly spicy, so it can be enjoyed by all. The fajitas came with great sides of salsas, guac, cheese and beans and the portions are generous. If I could go back again, I would not order the carnitas as they were not very flavorful and there were big chunks of unrendered fat that should have been removed, but everything else was very good.   We've grown up in "The South" of the United States, and having lived abroad for a few years, this was the first taste of home we've had since moving. The food was absolutely delicious and authentically TexMex/Mexican. The staff was eager to help with anything we might have needed, and was pleasant to speak with. They had a nice selection of beer, too. This place was so good we came back two nights later. Experience-wise I would give it 5 stars, but this isn't a stuffy 5-Star restaurant, so I'm giving it 4.   A great place for dining. One of the few that were open during winter season. Staff were very welcoming and cheerful. The food was delicious and the cocktails were not watered down and made very well. They were open to customizations beyond the menu.   Just wasn't what we'd hoped. While the service is great and the cocktails are really top notch the food is not. It's good food just not Mexican. For both our dishes they were both nearly flovourless which was very disappointing as this place had everything else going for it. Our burritos just tasted like flovourless veg. Nothing was suited, no salsa, guac, our sour cream was in the burrito. It sadly was an overall disappointment. But the service and cocktails were great!   This place is a real find! The food was amazing, the staff were lovely and friendly (I think they were at least mostly British but I could be wrong) and made us and our young son feel very welcomed. It looks like it would a lot of fun in the evenings as well as they had a well stocked bar and a great menu.
