  I wrote THE BEST review for this place and Google has crashed 2x on my phone - but I’m determined to let everyone know how great this restaurant is!! The gist: the food, our waiter, and the whole atmosphere of this place was AMAZING. Probably the best pizza I’ve ever had. Mine: the beetroot cream/ honey/ walnut pizza. My partner’s: the Pizza Stella. Both of them: way too much for us to eat in one setting, both very different from each other; mind-blowingly good!! Truly, this restaurant is one more big reason that I’ve fallen in love with Lagos.   Lovely people and beautiful restaurant. However, we had take away mushroom pizza and risotto and it was the worst food we have had in all of Lagos. I don’t know if it was just a bad night but the pizza was raw in the middle, sauce was pure water and the risotto was undercooked and hard. We threw out most of the meal and only ate the outer crust of the pizza without any sauce or toppings. Very disappointed as the reviews seemed amazing. Edit to the owner, it was Lagos not Lisbon my typo. We walked to your address at R. Marreiros Netto 55, 8600-700 Lagos. We tired to order Pesto from your menu you said it no longer existed so we changed to mushroom pizza and risotto and the outcome was stated above.   We tried pizza in a few spots around Lagos and this was easily the best (and, since we had recently come from Milan, I can also say that it stacked up on the international pizza index, too). We went for lunch one day and came back for dinner another; both experiences were great. The sauce set it apart, but whoever is making the dough and/or working the wood-fired oven really knows their work — the crust is the ideal mix of crisp under the toppings and fluffy and chewy at the edges. Plenty of options for vegetarians, and I can specifically recommend the 4 formaggi, Margherita, and (unexpected) beetroot pizzas, as well as the macaroni with burrata if you’re in a pasta mood. We wrapped up our first meal with the panna cotta, which was a creamy, beautifully set pot of deliciousness. The wine list is sound and the service is attentive but not all over you — as with most Portuguese restaurants, they won’t hurry you out, so be prepared to raise a hand politely for attention, fellow Americans, and make a scribbling motion to ask for the check when you want it.   Highly recommend place!! The owner was very welcoming, and the food is outstanding! I was looking for a place to just grab a pizza but this Italian restaurant had so much more. The atmosphere is relaxing, very clean and well organized. It felt very authentic with the wood fired stove right in the dining area and wood stacked just perfectly in the cubbies underneath it.   Ordered based on the restaurants recommendation.Tagliatelle Mar I Monti (boiled shrimp 🥴)and the lasagna lacked any sort of flavours, served in a runny/diluted sauce. I switched for the carbonara (they were very nice about it at least!) and It was also terrible 🫣: undercooked pasta dripped in heavy cream (not carbonara) with a dust of bacon. No flavor whatsoever, that old manufactured parmesan and a stomach ache 😬. Don't waste your money here, so many great Italians in town!   Hmm!! This place could easily get 5 stars, if only they could improve their service. Waiting over 30 mins for starters and then the same length for main course. And when they did arrive, one dish didn’t come out each time until 5 mins later. Went there at 8pm on Sat night (Aug). Quite packed, but if the chefs/service can’t keep up with the crowds, then stop packing them in. The food was lovely - I had the Nero and Gamberi and it was delicious (though all my family had finished eating by the time mine arrived).   Being an absolute foodie, I generally do not visit the same place twice as I always want to cover as much as possible on my trips by varying my palette. But this place was an exception. Their Pizza from the wood oven was truly magnificent. The base was perfectly good and the toppings were really fresh. The flavor combinations were pretty classic and worked perfectly with each other. We ordered the plain and simple Ragu con carne and the Pizza Rustica along with Lasagna. The lasagna was good but the pizzas were just beautiful. I really recommend this place. The staff were also really nice and courteous. Keep it up!   We were looking for pasta/Italian for lunch. The first spot didn’t have availability, so we kept walking and stumbled across this. Great vibes with outdoor seating along a bustling little pedestrian walkway. Nicely shaded for pleasant temps. I didn’t notice indoor seating but there appeared to be steps up inside, so maybe upstairs. But the outdoor seating was very nice in summertime. Food was nice.   The food here was delicious, I cannot fault that at all, everything we had was filled with flavour, tasted yummy and looked good. However, the service was not fantastic, it was a busy night as per usual but despite booking we just had really slow service, our order was fine but it took a long while for our starters to be cleared, no one came to check if we wanted more drinks, then when the main course arrived (which was really nice) again no one came to check so we didn’t bother ordering more drinks and again were sat with our empty main plates for a considerable time. I appreciate it was busy, but when is it not, it felt like there weren’t enough staff and they weren’t very attentive.   I got the portogallo and it was what you would expect - it wasn’t amazing. The scampi on the other hand had no flavour. The dough and the cheese were over powering, you couldn’t really taste anything else on the pizza. Also it was annoying that we had to pay for the breadsticks - they cost 0.75 euros per person which isn’t a lot but the breadsticks were tiny (shown in the images).   Watery and acidic tomato sauce on pizza I have been here about 6 times now for pizza and generally like it The dough is excellent - wood fired and authentic +++ The service is great - attentive, polite, fast The mozzarella (both regular & buffalo) is a bit cheap and generic The glass of white wine (3.5e/cup) is quite delicious Prices are quite fair and 4/6 pizzas I had have been good Unfortunately most of the pizzas with red sauce are too acidic and overpowers the rest of the dish. Likely a pre-canned tomato sauce or with acids added to preserve it. Hopefully they can correct this acidity as otherwise I very much enjoy coming here for a cozy pizza and wine and would get a solid 5/5.   Amazing Italian food hidden away in a small street in Lagos. We tried the pizza, the risotto, cannelloni and the pasta and a Tiramisu. A-m-a-z-i-n-g! And without having to break the bank. Won't find better value easily! The one negative is, as already noted in other reviews, the restaurant lays out grissinis on the table on arrival and you get charged whether you wanted it or not.   Nothing was bad but nothing was that amazing either. The pizzas are big! The olives have pits in them so you can't really eat them with the pizza.   We visited Pepperinos twice whilst in Lagos as the pizza was the best in the city, hands down. Staff very lovely too. If you have room, I would recommend a cheese garlic bread and tiramisu/ice cream if you can fit it all in.   Good food, bad service. My friend and I dined here early September. Our margarita pizza came without basil. We asked our server about the missing basil and he just never came back. We flagged down another waiter to ask, who finally brought us basil, but by then our pizza was cold. We could not get anyone to bring us our bill, we were stuck there at least 30 mins longer than we wanted to be trying to pay.   We had high expectations for pizza but were quite disappointed. I ordered pizza with rucola and prosciutto but couldn’t see anything but rucola. You can see how much of it I had to leave out, it’s ridiculous. They also forgot to bring a drink and tried to charge us for grissini which they place on each table but we didn’t even eat it. I think you should ask people before charging for something they didn’t eat. Do not recommend. The outdoor seating was good and well shaded, also they have a roof terrace we are yet to explore.   Inedible food & appalling service by inexperienced staff that just don’t care. Coming to Lagos for a long number of years & this was by far the worst meal we’ve ever had here. Calamari that was over cooked, pizza that was undercooked & drowned in sauce. Waited 1 hour & 15 minutes for our order. Having decided that we were going to leave (our children decided they couldn’t eat their pizza) I spoke to the manager to express our dissatisfaction. He seemed totally unaware of our predicament even though we had already voiced our concerns to two other staff members earlier. I reluctantly paid our bill in full as it appears that the manager has no authority from the owner, who was not on the premises, to offer any discount to disgruntled customers. A manager without authority says a lot for a business…… A lovely family evening ruined by indifference.   Slow and indifferent service. Staff clearly don’t care about the customer. Long queues, overstaffed with unskilled staff, poorly managed. The calamari was tough, the pizza when we got it was inedible as it was drenched in sauce. Pizzas were not cut, served with no pizza knife, impossible to cut with the cutlery given as the topping was so sloppy from the amount of sauce, the toppings all came away from the pizza. Hugely disappointing but the indifference from the staff was the most frustrating aspect. Waiting 1 hour, 15 minutes for our food. Paid €55.00 for food we couldn’t eat and refused to discount any part of the meal. After many years holidaying in Lagos, this is the first time we’ve had a bad experience.   Horrendous service. 70min wait to be served 3 pizzas while takeaways flowed out the door. And we arrived at 6:20 when it wasn't even busy! People walking off left, right and centre. People not served in the older they arrived. Staff bickering with each other. An utter shambles! When they finally arrived they'd made mistakes with 2 of them so had to go back. Awful. First off this is not real Italian food, the best comparable is fake American Italian food that tastes like it came out of a cardboard box (garlic bread was nice tho). Secondly they put these grocery store bread sticks on your table in its original packaging when you don’t even order them. Our table of 4 didn’t eat them and we were charged per bread stick. I called the server back and told him to take it off our menu. They do not make their own cocktails, they get them from the bar next door and they are watered down.   Good food, bad service. Waiters were dumfounded when I asked for butter with my bread. Told me they had no butter. Ignored us for ten minutes after asking for the check. After 5 minutes there, they brought the calamari(pretty alright and fresh).   Very poor quality food - I was very disappointed given the brilliant reviews. I had the stuffed mushrooms which were completely cold, and tasted uncooked.   I've had a fair few pizzas in my life but this is one of the best! The food was exquisite and brought out quickly and the staff were extremely friendly. The attention to detail was second to none, we were brought hand sanitiser between each course and they even tucked a blanket over my shoulders as I started to get a little chilly, we have a 20 euro tip and will 100% be back here before we leave Portugal.   We had the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and a pizza for our main course. Both were excellent. We are cooks and we make our own pizza dough and pasta from scratch so a compliment from my husband on the dough is something. We reluctantly opted to share a dessert and chose the cheesecake. This is one of the best cheesecakes I have EVER had. My mom made an incredible cheesecake when I was growing up and nothing ever matched it. This was very close. Service was great food was great.   Decent overall, better than the pizzeria image let me expect. I would have given 4 stars for the ok quality of food and the very friendly service, but... My first glass of vinho verde tasted lame and when I got a second (still waiting for my fish ravioli...), I noticed how different it was-they had just opened a new bottle. They confirmed, said they were sorry, but didn't deduct anything on the first glass or offer anything on the house.
