  Local lindíssimo sem dúvida, infelizmente tendo em conta os preços , paguei simplesmente para mim e minha esposa 311€ , além da qualidade abaixo da média, não vale de todo a pena voltar , penso para na afirmar ter a certeza que haja alguém que volte a este espaço.

  Fomos pro menu degustação, esse restaurante é o sinônimo de não mais voltar. Carta de vinhos carissima, o menu tem que ser o mesmo pra todos, portanto, se vc não quiser comer o mesmo de todos, não será possível. O copo do meu marido caiu na mesa e eles não trocaram o forro, colocaram guardanapo em cima, e a ficou úmido até o fim. Não gostamos da experiência, decepcionante.

  Não há muito a dizer sobre o menu, o Atlântico em cada prato, excelente! O serviço foi muito simpático, competente e descomplicado. O gerente do restaurante é excepcional, um cara especial, mas ainda assim muito agradável. Uma surpresa foi o Somelier que não quer vender-lhe a garrafa mais cara mas principalmente responde aos desejos dos seus convidados e também dá recomendações competentes e é também refrescantemente comunicativo. Todos se sentem bem-vindos aqui!

  O restaurante em si é uma das primeiras obras representativas do famoso arquitecto português Álvaro Siza. É muito bonito combinado com a vista para o mar. A refeição que comi enquanto olhava para o mar pela janela inteira estava realmente deliciosa. Até mesmo o serviço amigável foi perfeito.

  Venho da Espanha especialmente para comer aqui, reservo mesa às 13h30, às 13h38 sento-me à mesa. O Maitre me atende 7 minutos depois, escolhemos o menu longo e ele nos diz que só é possível até as 13h30 o que estava informado no email, na verdade é assim mas ele coloca no final de tudo, o que acontece que falei hoje de manhã para confirmar tudo antes de vir e sobre a minha intolerância ao cardápio e em nenhum momento me perguntaram por telefone qual cardápio eu ia levar ou que havia prazo. O caso é que nos oferecem o menu de 12 pratos mas queríamos o de 21 pratos...e optámos por levar 2 pratos do menu...o que não recomendo porque os preços, qualidade e quantidade não são semelhantes. Não voltaremos e obrigado por tudo. O Maitre é um profissional muito amigável. Espero que baixem as suas estrelas porque você não merece...vamos ver se a Michelin presta atenção às reclamações.

  This is Chef Rui Paula's most iconic locations, built on the rocks adjacent to the Atlantic ocean with spectacular views. I recommend lunch only unless it is Summer. We arrived and by chance Chef Rui Paula was there at the entry and greeted us. We were six and had a round table with a marvellous view. We did the 21 moments plus a few bottles of wine, not the pairing. The food was amazing, and we loved the games and culture that went with the courses. The experience took four hours in total. Payment was in advance to secure a booking. For our children here at Christmas it was a highlight. With a modest gratuity the cost for this remarkable Michelin two star experience was just over €300 per person. It was our second visit and we loved it.   É costume dizer-se que não se deve voltar onde se foi feliz. Discordo em absoluto até porque a experiência gastronómica que tive, obrigar-me- á, a repetir quantas vezes me for possível viver novamente a genialidade do conceito criado pelo Chef Rui Paula. Como amante da arte e arquitectura, é inenarrável o valor icónico da casa de Chá Boa Nova. Historicamente indubitavelmente, intemporal. E é isso que o conceito sensível, inteligente e sublime nos traz à mesa, ao coração e à nossa relação com a atmosfera, gastronomia e um puxão à nossa sensibilidade. Esta crítica é “abstrata” propositadamente para não estragar a surpresa do que experiênciei. Sem telefone à mesa. Apenas com os nossos sentidos, todos eles, preferencialmente, apurados.   We had an outstanding dinner last night at Casa de Chá. I am not a food guide expert, nor am I trained about what eventually could or should be expected by a 2-starred restaurant: so I judge based on my taste, sensations and emotions. Casa de Chá really deserves a visit because here fish and seafood are treated with the outmost respect not changing their nature but rather adding flavours around them to enhance their characters. The place is beautiful but I’m happy that we went there for dinner rather than lunch, not to be distracted from food by the incredible sea view.   Excelente experiência. Este chefe sabe o que anda a fazer. A experiência gastronómica deveria ser mais elucidativa e histórica para que o cliente navegue mais facilmente nos sabores prometidos pelo chefe. Isto é. O conceito é uma viagem de sabores pelas viagens e colónias do povo português e as especiarias e sabores desses novos mundos.   We came here in March 2022, I think it was perhaps the most enjoyable experience I've ever had in a restaurant. The service was top notch, every single employee seemed to know exactly what we were about and personalised our service, and the food was beautifully presented and incredibly well made. I would add that Carlos was kind enough to search the wine I drank over a year later as I'd forgotten what it was, and it was one of the nicest bottles I've ever had.   We had a dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Overall, we had the worst experience among the 2-3 Michelin star restaurants we visited. The food, service and atmosphere were all underwhelming. We were seated in a small room - instead of the main dining area - despite our note that it was our wedding anniversary when we made the reservation. The part of the reason we chose this restaurant was to check out the architecture so it was a bit disappointing. CONCLUSION: We would not recommend it but if you do decide to go, would go for lunch and ensure you get seated at the main dining room at the time of the booking. In essence, you are paying for the architecture and the views, not the food. We felt the service (especially the manager’s attitude) was superficial. Also, we felt pressured to order a 21 course meal when we didn’t want it. The staff was almost too formal and stiff - we didn’t feel comfortable or particularly welcomed. The food was mediocre at best - certainly below expectations for a 2 Michelin star restaurant. Especially the main course, cod dish, was way too fishy. I couldn’t finish it. We went to Belcanto a couple of days later - another 2 Michelin star restaurant in Portugal. We had much nicer experience there.   The 2 star michelin restaurant in Portugal with the best view to the beach I’ve ever tried so far. We try the full set menu with many kind of seafoods: mullet, crab, fish, red prawn…. The ones we like the best is 3 types of prawn with different types of cooking. After finishing the dessert with 03 dishes, we also received a very nice gift from restaurant.   Deserves a third Michelin star. Presentational showstoppers, bold flavors, stunning sunset... and course after course of seafood that melts you into your chair. A couple courses near the start that were /only/ great (although in retrospect set the stage well).   My strong advice- eat before and prepare some snacks after visiting this restaurant, bcs even with 12 or 21 plats you will leave this place hungry and in additional with a damage of your bank account-:) My oppinion- place to avoid ,plats are quite similar, the show around each dish is longer,then the time,you need to eat it-:) Im gourmand and ok to pay for the cuisine, but this place is more " show up" then the real Michelin Deception...   Este é um daqueles sitios onde se tem que ir pelo menos uma vez na vida ( ou mais ).A orquestra do Chef Rui Paula guia nos numa viagem de sabores e saberes para que tenhamos uma experiencia à mesa verdadeiramente memorável e irrepreensível. Contado nao é o mesmo, tem que ser vivido.

  We had the 21 course tasting menu, including the wine pairing, and we were astonished by it!! Each dish was a small artwork and tasted amazingly. The wine pairings complimented the food in a very good way. The sommelier explained every wine very enthousiast and even took the time to write the list of wines down on the menu that we took home. The service was superb and very friendly. They took the time to chat with us and were very informal. The architectural building and the view of the sunset made the whole experience even better. I don't understand why this restaurant isn't in the top 50 of the best restaurants. We've eaten a couple of the top 50, and Casa de Chá da Boa Nova is for sure better than a couple of them. Eles aproveitaram para conversar conosco e foram muito informais. A construção arquitetônica e a vista do pôr do sol tornaram toda a experiência ainda melhor. Não entendo por que este restaurante não está entre os 50 melhores restaurantes. Comemos alguns dos 50 melhores e a Casa de Chá da Boa Nova é com certeza melhor que alguns deles.

  Casa de Cha is an architectural icon with an incredible restaurant in it. Food was delicious (as expected), and service was impeccable (including a lot of flexibility with the fact we had lunch with our two kids - 7 and 4 year-old). The views from the restaurant are fantastic and, likely, much better during warmer months when they open all windows (seamlessly), making you feel as if you were on the ocean. Usually when you have a stunning location the food is often lacking and many times you can have amazing food but the locale is not amazing and often in a restaurant the service can be lacking. My wife took me to Casa de Cha for my recent birthday and we went for lunch during a grey stormy day and the experience was one of the best I have ever had! The mid century masterpiece by Alvaro Siza Viera has stood the test of time and has been authentically and lovingly restored and paired with the Rui Paula touch made the experience unforgettable. When the days are shorter we opted for lunch as we could enjoy the natural drama of the ocean - even better on a windy stormy day! We also loved the menu and the innovative presentation style included some fun links to Portugal's exploration past - and the food was absolutely delicious too - Finally the team was so welcoming, professional and nice that the experience was basically perfect!   So this meal was truly life changing. I have been to some Michelin restaurants before but maybe this is why this places has two Michelins - but the entire experience was out of this world. I won’t share more photos since I think folks who can should try it for themselves but from the moment we entered the restaurant you’ll be taken to another realm of fantastic food, drinks, and services. We opted for the 21 course journey and from the exceptional timing of each course to the unique stitching on the sommelier’s cuff - I can truly say that this restaurant takes things to another level. The meal itself had a mix of flavors we were used to but it also had items like the uni crème brûlée that utterly blew my taste bunds out of the water.   We have never been to a place like this, and pretty sure there aren’t many place like this. The view is the main drawing point, but don’t let that take away from the attention to detail service, the complexity of the dishes, and of course, the experience. My suggestion is to book around sunset time, just to experience the colorful skyline while enjoying a great meal. The 12-course was definitely the way to go for a satisfying meal.   I went for the lunch and had 12 course tasting menu. Hands down the best Michelin restaurant I’ve ever been. This is where you’ll learn what the true Michelin dining experience is. Every dish was made with seafood except for the dessert. They were all incredibly flavourful, the service was phenomenal, and the view was stunning. Everything was just perfectly orchestrated. I have to say that the location isn’t convenient for a tourist but every $ spent to have this meal was all worth it. I highly recommend this place to anyone who’d like to have a memorable time with their loved ones. I would love to visit again one day to try all 21 menus.   One of the most romantic place to dine while the sun dip into the horizon for the night. The restaurant perched on top of the rock of the Ocean. The view is amazing. The staffs were super friendly and very professional. The immaculate details of the foods were great. We were there last October for our vacation. The ambience is unmatched. We chose the 25 course meals and we felt not overstuffing at all. While I was very allergic to alcohols so I didn't have any wine pairing with my meals. My hubby is not a big drink so both of us didn't pair any wine with our course. The downside is that it would have been an added experience for someone like us if they create some virgin or fruit drinks to pair with our meals like what we had in Budapest at Onyx or at Loco in Lisbon. I gave a 4.5 stars because I felt like they made a mistake on one of my desserts when we especially told them that I can't have anything with alcohols and one of the desserts were made with alcohol. They managed to take away the best part of the dessert to remove the alcohol but then it left unfinished. At the end the chef came out, shook our hands and talked to us. He even took a picture with me. We had been to several Michelin stars restaurants and this is a rare occasion to have chef came and chat with us. This made up for the minor alcohol encountered.   O desenho das janelas do interior da casa é realmente especial! O que queremos são XII takes, o que geralmente é bom. Mas acho que o design da casa me traz mais experiência do que a comida. No final eles vão te dar um menu para salvar, o que é bastante interessante. Para ser sincero, este é o melhor restaurante que já comi em Portugal.

The rice was overdone (re-heated?) and its broth was insipid. Not at all acceptable for a 2 star. Also, the chef was in the restaurant. The chef came visit the table *before* the service, and not after. Moreover, this kind of rice is an ex-libris of the cities of Leça da Palmeira and Matosinhos and every restaurant - simple or upscale - will serve a much better version of it. And do not confuse the restaurant with the amazing house. The house is much older and one of the city's wonders. Visit it from the outside, together with the other Siza's works nearby.   Visited the restaurant in 2016 and went back in 2021. In 2016 they were still a 1 star Michelin restaurant and now they have 2 stars. I enjoyed more my experience in 2016. It was my reference of a luxury restaurant experience but I cannot say the same after my recent visit. The staff, the food, all changed in a direction that seemed to me a downgrade from what I knew.   Alright, here’s a Google review you’ll want read, if anything for entertainment purposes. But we had an absolutely terrible dining experience. The view was great, but it’s very inconveniently located. The maître d’ was incredibly rude and the food was well below average. Now to the juicy stuff, we actually had the unfortunate experience of overhearing chef Rui Paula (tiny swarmy little man) scream aggressively over speakerphone at another guest at the restaurant, calling a guest at his own establishment a “cocksucker”. (We know it was Rui Paula because he explicitly stated so over the phone, and then later showed up in person). The guest remained completely calm and respectful throughout the entire interaction we overheard. We also heard from waitstaff that he had assaulted said guest outside the premises, after he realized he was on speakerphone in front of his entire restaurant! The level of unprofessionalism at this establishment is appalling, and the food is abysmal. Save your € 100 reservation deposit and make a reservation elsewhere.   It really was an experience I will never forget. The dishes are absolutely delicious (really enjoyed every 21 moments of the menu), the wine pairing fits the menu perfectly. The people working there are so friendly and attentive taking their time to answer any questions of the food, wine and architecture of the building.   Lovely experience in general. We had the 21 moments menu, although the first few moments might be a bit disappointing, it was quickly followed by moments that I could never forget. Chef Rui Paula also came out to greet with all of us and grilled our lobsters next to the table. I feel the sommelier could be nicer. During the wine picking intros he didn’t look at me for a second and ask me for my opinion at all (because I’m a female? I don’t know)- I didn’t feel respected and it was weird. The ending “surprise” with little sweets is cute but they’re not so tasty, with this little disappointment I feel the experience could have been better without this part.... Reason why I gave only 4 points, considering that its a two star restaurant: - At other "high end" restaurants, they usually offer us a small paper bag to store our mask.   Unique experience due to the gorgeous building and its amazing view. The food was very good but would not say it was outstanding or exceptionally original. That being said I would highly recommend this as an overall experience, particularly if you are celebrating a romantic special occasion.   We took the degustation menu with 12 takes. The menu is dedicated to the sea, so do not expect meat. All dishes are excellent. In particular, I enjoyed a lot the stone bass with sweet potatoes and the red mullet with manioc. We also got a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from Tejo (Ninfa escolha, suggestion from the sommelier when asking for a Sauvignon blanc) which was very nice. The portion are never big in tasting menus, but here they are particularly small. With 12 courses, we were not hungry at the end but not full neither. The staff was perfect. With a bottle of water and two coffee, we paid 317€ for 2 person which is arguably very expensive, but the uniqueness of the experience makes it worth it. I was just a bit disappointed by the fact that they charge for the coffee. A 130€ menu could include a coffee. Another thing was the lack a surprises. In the few restaurants with tasting menu that I have been to, they very often offer several surprises: dishes or entre-deux which are not in the menu and are surprises from the chef. Here we only got a few miniardises at the end. They arrived after we finished the coffee. I would have expected and enjoyed them better with the coffee. Furthermore, they were not to the standard of the restaurant. For exemple, there was a little chocolate cake which was good but which had something tasting like pepper in it. A porção nunca é grande nos menus de degustação, mas aqui é particularmente pequena. Com 12 pratos, não estávamos com fome no final, mas também não estávamos cheios. A equipe foi perfeita. Com uma garrafa de água e dois cafés, pagamos 317€ para 2 pessoas, o que é sem dúvida muito caro, mas a singularidade da experiência faz com que valha a pena. Fiquei um pouco decepcionado com o fato de eles cobrarem pelo café. Um menu de 130€ poderia incluir um café. Outra coisa foi a falta de surpresas. Nos poucos restaurantes com menu degustação que visitei, muitas vezes oferecem várias surpresas: pratos ou entre-deux que não estão no menu e são surpresas do chef. Aqui só conseguimos algumas miniardis no final. Eles chegaram depois que terminamos o café. Eu teria esperado e gostado melhor deles com o café. Além disso, eles não estavam no padrão do restaurante.   Beautiful location, exquisite architecture. Friendly and impeccable service in a cosy and relaxed ambiance. I had the small menu (6 steps) for lunch and, as expected, was comprised exclusively of fish and seafood. There are 2 other options of 12 and 21 steps. The Tuna & Oyster was delicious, the scallops and the sea bass as well. The wine selection is extensive with very interesting Portuguese wines from small producers.   My daughter arranged this evening as a special gift for my husband's 60th. She picked the PERFECT RESTAURANT! Trust me, if you want a special dining experience this will be the place. The restaurant used to be a tea house, the building is built on rocks just above the sea, designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira.   Tanto a localização, como o design, a decoração, a ementa e o serviço fazem deste restaurante uma experiência, como se costuma dizer, de “momentos”. O ambiente é relaxante e muito agradável. A atenção de todos os funcionários é incrível, sempre cuidando para que tudo esteja do seu agrado, tanto que em um dos pratos deixei mais da metade, não porque fosse ruim, mas porque não era um dos meus favoritos e quase sem que eu percebesse, em segundos, o responsável pelo restaurante estava ao meu lado me perguntando se havia algum problema com o prato ou se estavam simplesmente me preparando outro que eu gostasse. Obviamente, eles o avisaram que algo não me satisfez. Oferecem um menu com vinte e um pratos (também opção vegetariana...requintada!!) com três possibilidades, um menu completo com os 21 "Cantos", um médio com 12 ou um reduzido com 6.   I am not an old person nor have I been to any other Michelin star restaurants in my life. But this was the best meal of my life so far. Housed in one of Alvaro Siza's first buildings, as an architect and food lover, it was an experience to remember. Service was impeccable but friendly and approachable. No need to dress for a gala, but a nice summer dress for the ladies and a button shirt for men won't hurt. No beach sandals is their only policy. Make reservations to be seated before sunset.   One of the best (if not the best) meals of my life. Rare in life to get perfect ambience and perfect gastronomy but it all came together with incredible precision and excellence. My wife not very into seafood but they customized the menu to her preferences without any attitude. Just incredible. A tragedy if you come to Portugal and don't experience this culinary example of expertise. Oh and by the way we had a personal sommelier that customized a wine pairing to each course perfectly.
