  Really bad, waiters were very rude! Because we we went with a big group they didn’t want to give us beef but they served it to the Portugese people. I asked them for steak and the waitress lied and said we only serve porc and chicken, when I looked behind me to a different table they were serving steak to a Portugese table…. Kind of discrimination based on size of the group, really unfortunately but they are only thinking about their profit and not their costumer! I really like steak!   It's an interesting dining experience. Pros: 1. GREAT atmosphere! From the simple blue and white motif under the vaulted ceiling, to the blue runner on top of the white table cloth. I loved it very much 2. I ordered prawn linguini. The linguini comes in dark color, with a total of 9 red shrimps (they are relatively large but not yet the prawn size). The linguini in the white sauce is simply DELICIOUS! 3. Service is good. The waiter helped me charging the phone and even reminded me upon leaving Cons: 1. Food: again I ordered a octopus salad at entree. The portion is big, but the octopus tasted rubber. It is the worst I've ever had. Similarly, the shrimps are over cooked that they tasted too chewy. 2. Price: the entree and the pasta cost 4 and 19 euros respectively. When the check came, additional items showed up: 4€ bottled water (I asked for water) 2.5€ the fish paste (which is Delicious) 0.7€ bread These additional charges may serve as tips, but I'd rather pay a tip than having items hitting my bill unknowingly. Our waitress never once smiled. The guy behind the bar ignored everyone. While we walked in early by Portuguese standards, at 6 pm, no one greeted us. We had to ask if the restaurant was open. While they said it was no one offered to seat us for several minutes. We watched numerous people peek into the place, not sure if it was open or not. We were the only guests in the restaurant and she decided that chatting on phone outside of the restaurant was more important than taking our order or answer our questions.   Had an amazing meal and a bottle of the house red here at 20:20 on a Sunday after coming back from exploring Sintra. They have an all you can eat buffet for 8.90. They charge for water and soft drinks. Our total meal came to 27.90 for two people. Each of us went to the buffet three times. The meat they were serving was superb, cooked in front of you on hot coals. Excellent value for money. There was a bit of a queue to get in here, 10 mins max, but it was definitely worth the wait. The staff are very friendly, they speak English and were very sound. Toilets were a bit mank though, but understandable given the fact that it's an all you can eat buffet. Will be coming here for dinner again in the future, thanks for a lovely meal folks!   There's a bit of confusion in the reviews here. There are actually two restaurants at this location--the "Leão d'Ouro," a traditional a la carte place, and, next door, the "Leão Buffet," an inexpensive and casual all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. I presume they're both under the same management. I'm reviewing the buffet side. My buffet this night was £7.90--including a decent salad bar, a choice of two soups, and a hot buffet (including a modest carvery). Everything I tried was decent, and much of it was very good. Drinks and desserts are extra, but reasonable. The atmosphere was casual and a bit chaotic, but it was certainly an efficient and inexpensive route for supper. I emerged stuffed to the gills in less than an hour, for a shade over £10 including a pint of beer. The staff were understandably a bit harried, but generally perfectly pleasant. You may have to stand in line for a table, but turnover is reasonably brisk. If you break into groups of two or three, you'll be seated faster. The main rush seems to be 7:30-8:00 pm. The five stars represents decent and plentiful local fare at a great price. I'd be very surprised if there were a better value in the heart of old Lisbon.   The majority of the “hot” food was luke warm to nearly cold. It’s really chaotic and the waiters seem a bit stressed out. I placed my cutlery down on a small plate to go get more food, whilst gone the waiter removed both the small plate which I was using for bones and other items I didn’t like plus in doing so he whisked away my cutlery too!! Returned with second plate of food but until I got the cutlery replaced I had to sit patiently trying to get our waiter’s attention whilst my luke warm food got colder. My teenage son only ate chips as the meat wasn’t lean enough for his liking - he did try some of it but very slimy and too much fat. I think if you’re not too fussy and I’d say the lunch deal is probably better value for money. With 2 waters and evening buffet, we paid €20.70... not bad you might say but in context as son is fussy, it’s a lot of money for 2 plates of nearly cold fries and the food I had I didn’t once think Mmmm!! I wouldn’t return is my conclusion. We far better and as cheap place to eat night before - amazing portions and quality food!   Lunch for four people, very nice waiter welcomed us. We had two soups of the day and it was vegetable soup with carrot pieces and cabbage - very tasty. One of us had rich fish soup which included a tomato-base and three different fish types. As a main course we had two plates which were on the menu for two persons but as a shared plate it could have been enough for four as a main course. Octopus was excellent, and both white fish.   Worst restaurant ever in Lisbon. The server discriminates people, and that made my last night in Lisbon awful. I spent almost 40 euroes, and Mcdoanlds would have been better. I just sat there with the server ignoring me, watching him smiling, talking, asking whether the dish was good several times to people who sat next to me. It totally ruined my memory in Lisbon.   Seafood platter was amazing. Would be advisable to book beforehand as the restaurant gets very busy. We managed to get a table on the day, but it was an hour wait, but we were able to get a drink elsewhere while we waited. When we returned, the table wasn't quite ready, but the waiter sat us outside with a complementary glass of port while we waited.   We walked by this restaurant one afternoon and decided to try it out the same night. My husband ordered oysters and Tiger Prawns and I had fish soup and the sea bass. The oysters were large and tasteful (but it would have been easier if the chef had already taken them off the shell). The Tiger Prawns were delicious too and I have to admit that the sea bass was the best I ever had! Service was good too. Come early or make a reservation, otherwise you might have to wait...   Pros: Great location. Really nice patio. OK food. Cons: Terrible service. We were kept waiting outside for almost 30 minutes after asking for our bill without a waiter in sight. We were told our waiter had gone on his dinner break, and they really didnt seem to see any issue with the situation. Also, unlike most other Portuguese restaurants that make sure to inform you the bread they bring to the table costs money, i didnt see the waiter tell a single person.
