  Shocked this is rated so highly. Service was pleasant but slow. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and we were told they seat people in 30 min intervals so they aren’t busy. They sat us for drinks but to our surprised there were only 2 other tables present. There was NO ONE else seated from when we entered to have a drink before our reservation (which took 25 mins anyways) to when we were seated in the table next to where we were sitting. When we finished, empty plates sat for 30 mins before we were able to wave someone for the bill. The ribeye steak was submerged in oil which had us asking why the steak had that much oil on it. Also served apps with no plates which found a little odd. Perhaps it was a one off but all I have is my experience. Overpriced food and drink for what is provided- but it is in a 5 star hotel so guess that makes sense. Plenty of better restaurants in the area!   We were on a quick work trip and managed to squeeze a visit to BAHR for lunch. We had the best experience enjoying the sun and the views from the terrace while having the most delicious food.   There wasn't any signage at the hotel door but luckily we saw a review here that stated where the entrance is. The pre-dinner drink on the terrace was a nice experience. We were offered a blanket so it was pretty cozy sitting there, overlooking the city of Lisbon. The drinks were pretty standard though. The dinner was a bit of a letdown. The beef tartare was great with a hint of oyster. The Carabineiro Rice was too salty that I could barely taste the prawn. The service was so-so - the waiter barely talked.   We had a mixed experience at Bahr. The terrace and cocktails were excellent, and the ambience outside was cozy and romantic. Our snack, Iberian pork, was flavourful, albeit a bit pricey for it's bite size. Our hostess was extremely accommodating and helpful. We were then ushered in for dinner, which we felt unfortunately fell a bit short of the extremely high standards of Portuguese dining scene. Some of the staff were attentive and accommodating, while others were a bit short and made the restaurant feel less premium than it presents itself to be. The carabineiro rice was a bit salty for our tastes and the octopus, while good, wasn't particularly outstanding. Ultimately, I feel conflicted about Bahr - the terrace would be an excellent date night, although pricey, but for the dinner, I would go elsewhere for that pricetag.   The restaurant is not easy to find as it is part of the Barrio Alto Hotel. It is located on the 5th floor, with a very nice terrace. The staff is very professional and welcoming. The dinner service was performed very well, and the ambiance is nice with an open kitchen. The food is well presented and good. Probably I would have expected something more, since many dishes (despite being well prepared) were missing taste. The meet was soft, well cocked but not tasting. In a similar way the dessert where the “banana ice cream” was not tasting banana at all. I would recommend to review the supplier or the preparation methods since the restaurant has much more potential.   We went to Bahr to celebrate my birthday. The first worrying sign came when the hostess was not at her position and took a few minutes to check us in. Then the snail service began. Long waits to get drinks and wine. Despite asking and checking twice with the waitresses, they were unable to bring a basic cake with a candle for dessert… it took another reminder and 15 minutes… the finale: the hostess “mistakenly” adding 70€ to our check which I had to correct… other than that the food is decent but overpriced; the service is just pathetic.   The restaurant is not easy to find. The hotel is not well marked and we had to ask for directions from staff upon arrival. Located on the top floor, the restaurant does afford guests a great view across the city from a roof top balcony. Heaters were available but not switched on. The service despite us arriving for an early evening booking was ponderous, lacked finesse and the food was unexceptional. Even for fine dining , portions were meagre and lacked both presentation and taste. The menu was over priced for the experience offered and the quality of the food. Having read the reviews i was left highly disappointed. The music from the resident DJ killed any semblance of atmosphere and would have been better placed outside on the roof top terrace.   Nice restaurant with amazing views. We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around Lisbon and really enjoyed our lunch. The staff is very friendly and the food was very good. I started with the cauliflower soup, you would never know it was cauliflower, it was creamy and flavorful and delicious! My main course was the duck rice and it was very good! The duck was cooked more to the rare temperature and it was served over orange rice, very good! I highly recommend this restaurant when you’re visiting Lisbon.   Very very overpriced for lisbon and the portions are beyond too small I ordered the blue lobster and it was a tiny almost prawn size tail in a big bowl …. It’s Michelin prices without the experience .   Mushroom appetizer was really good, two entries - aged beef and lobster were average and not impressive, tart tatan was the worst, no flavor at all. Service was outstanding but that was the only thing which deserves such a high price tag. Not recommending and not coming back.   I really enjoyed this place; the food was amazing and the bread... omg best bread ever! If anything I would suggest to remove the ham and cheese platter from the menu.   This restaurant was a home run and our favorite of all of the restaurants that we tried in Madrid and Lisbon. The chef and team were talented and upbeat and created an incredible atmosphere as we could watch them work in the kitchen. The restaurant's decor and music and energy were perfect. The food was out of this world. We have been to many Michelin star restaurants, many of which are incredibly creative and delicious with unique presentations. Sometimes these extreme multi course meals can feel like elaborate productions that drag on. What we liked about this restaurant was that each dish was straightforward yet flawless with subtle creative touches throughout everything.   I wanted to give the food 5 stars but having been to many Michelin stars restaurant if 5 stars is perfect, this place is 4.5 stars. Wine - I picked the wrong wine. Not thrilled. Appetizers - For the money paid, I'm slightly disappointed. Entree: Red prawns rice - excellent dish, prawns were perfectly cooked, the saucy rice is a bit on the salty side but the flavor is great if it's less salty, would have been perfect. Pork - perfectly cooked (medium well) very tender, you can taste the grilled a little. I thought it's a bit salty but my wife said it was fine. Sides- Broccolini was nicely grilled and flavor.   The terrace is perfect, staff very friendly, and cocktails were high end. I was skeptical when i saw the portion sizes that came out but the flavors were great.   Personally I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. The terrace is nice with great views as others have pointed out. The portions of food are truly tiny for dinner - this might be overall more of a gripe with upscale dining. Don’t come here if you are the slightest bit hungry 😂 we ordered the prawns and it tasted very strongly of sea water and we both really disliked it. The food is expensive and not worth it overall at all. Service good though! It would be a nice place to hang out enjoy the view with some drinks though.   Stayed at the hotel so had the pleasure of dinning here multiple times. We had dinner and breakfast. The breakfasts were amazing and service was impeccable. Fast and attentive service. The eggs were so rich, creamy and filling. We sat on the patio which had stunning views. Unfortunately, our dinner was unimpressive. We wanted to sit on the patio and requested that about 3 months in advance but unfortunately we had to sit indoors. Part of the appeal is the patio so that was disappointing. Apparently, people reserve the patio 6 months in advance so make sure to get a reservation very far in advance. They were very nice about it and tried to accommodate us but it didn’t work out. Obviously not their fault but just disappointed about it. Wouldn’t have care that much if the meal was good but the food was just not that great. We had some good dishes and some bad. The flavour of the squid and beans appetizer was overpowered with pepper. The cod and tuna ceviche were way too fishy tasting for our liking. We did really love the piri piri chicken and beef tenderloin. I would still recommend the restaurant overall but maybe not for dinner if you can’t get on the patio.   We had a tremendous experience. Food was amazing and the location was unbeatable. Even if the food were to have been bad (and it was excellent!) the terrace alone is beautiful. Throw in the fact that the service was top end, and this added up to probably the best dining experience we’ve had in Lisbon. The rice with prawns (pictured) was incredibly tasty. We also got the goose barnacles - it sounds disgusting but it was shockingly good! The pork was to die for - I got the seafood rice and was still somehow jealous of my wife’s dinner! Jantar perfeito!   Everything on the menu is so expensive now. I most likely will not go back. Unfortunately, it was very windy, plus they had the water mist on. Portions of food were extremely small and simply too pricy for what we got. Of course, I am comparing to the way it used to be before the remodelling. I will miss it, but a bit out of my pocket money range. It was never cheap, but we used to get a lot more for our money. Cheapest bottle of wine was 30€. No Sangria.   Food was not tasty at all and for such poor quality - overpriced. Also service was not good - waiters didn't smile at all. When I even did not touch the main dish - waitress just took the plate away and was not even surprised. Seems like they already know that the food is not good ;) Additionally, when I asked for a glass of prosecco, they brought champagne and didn't even double check with us that we are ok with such replacement. At the end in the bill we found out that we had to pay 22 euro per each glass. I believe waitress should get confirmation before doing that. So I do not recommend this place to anyone - they have ambitious to be a trendy place, but in reality it's no good at all.   Amazing food (squid!), great presentation and unique flavors. Rookie service. Some staff seemed untrained while others acted as if they had better things to do than wait on tables. We were a party of five. Had to ask for too many things (bottles of wine that didn’t show up, more than one glass when the bottle finally arrived, cutlery for one of us). I’m generally pretty patient and enjoy great food no matter the service but the vibe made us feel like unwelcome tourists.   The food is insanely good here. I ordered the octopus carpaccio (not exactly a fillet as described on the menu) but excellent all the same. I then ate the best seafood rice with carabinero prawns that I've ever had, possibly because it was made with mondego rice and courgette puree to give it that creamy texture without adding a cream to the dish, and ultimately keeping the dish very Portuguese. And lastly, I had the chocolate mousse, which I was reluctant to order as I find mousse quite boring, but not this one. This one was made with a moscatel and was garnished with what appeared to be toasted buckwheat. The food was excellent value for money, and the sea view and view of Lisbon from the terrace is spectacular. The bonus was that the service was excellent and well-prepared for the gusty breeze as I was offered a blanket, which only made my dining experience on the outdoor terrace at BAHR even better.   Bahr Lisboa. We came here without reservation but the restaurant was not full anyway. They told us there is no available table but you can litteraly see at least 10 empty tables without anyone waiting in line. Next step, we ask for the bar they say it’s full but the bar is also super empty. If we are not welcomed tell us, if there is a dress code that we are not respecting please specify it instead of acting like they are helping us but doing nothing else than criticizing with their stares. Talking about the dress code I doubt that we weren’t fitting it since there were plenty of American tourists with flip flops inside the restaurant. If there is an age restriction just specify it, it might be because we look young but we came here to have a good experience and moment and not to get age shamed. And if this restaurant is only restricted to retirement aged clients or people above 40, just specify it. I’m eating right now and regretting everything about the atmosphere and the mood. I never felt that unwelcomed Thanks god the manager or the waiter with a blazer was here to get up the mood because his ignorant colleague did nothing else than just staring at us in a very uncomfortable way. We had the Coastal Prawn and Sweet Potato Puri as a snack, which was light and fresh. That being said, the flavors were good and the staff was kind. We'd definitely go back for a drink and a snack, but we wouldn't go back for dinner with so many other restaurants in the city that we find to be a much better value.   Not sure this place is worth the money I am afraid! The bar has a lovely view and nice decor and cocktails are tasty (even if we waited 25 minutes for them in a empty bar!). The staff all spoke impeccable english but I think we felt looked down upon which did not add to the experience - after a long campaign of smiles and compliments they did eventually warm up. To be fair we did look like drowned rats due to arriving in a rainstorm so maybe they thought we were not appropriately smart. The food was solid but not special enough for the price I am afraid.   Had brunch here and found the food a touch underwhelming. I plumped for my usual Eggs Benedict and although the eggs were perfectly cooked, the muffin was thin and flat and the bacon thin and tiny. The sauce was fine but it lacked an acidic garnish with some kind of salad. The coffee also lacked body. My local cafe does the same dish a lot better for half the price.   Went there due to no space on a Saturday night at nearby restaurant and it ended up being one of our top 5 restaurants ever. First of all, the open kitchen concept was inspiring to see the coordination of chefs in the preparation of each dish. Unique inspiring menu. Tuna pie appetizers were legendary.   Very very cool spot with a nice ambiance. went at night and had a great view of sunset and the bridge and Christ the redeemer. Starters: Bread- excellent sourdough with a absolutely marvelous crust. Together with the Azores Island butter made this a must have app. Tuna pie - really really good dish that paired well with the house made cracker that it came on. the mixture of spices made the tuna flavor really stand out without being overpowered. Tatare with oyster emulsion - excellent rich flavoring of the tatare that was only bolstered by the oyster emulsion Mains: Turbot - seemed very asian inspired with a heavy seaweed flavoring. Pretty good but not great Aged steak - I think the best main on the menu. rich flavoring really shown through with the sweet onion puree that only helped. A little too salty for my taste but i lean towards being sensitive to salt so it might be perfect for some. Drinks: really excellent all around Pricing was really quite reasonable.
