  Went to this restaurant twice during our short stay in Lisbon. Were we here for longer, we’d definitely go again.   Attention ! no go Poor hygiene.. its SIMPLY the hype - branding ", is this a case of too much arrogance on the part of an employee (a young guy) who is working in the balcone? and the highine is not good. I'm not saying this because of the customer service, Very awful! we went their our friends recommend us. but sorry guys this place have to avoid because of hygiene. As a afternoon restaurant was not so busy. We order a food when food came as a same time we saw on the wall crocach! i spoke with server lady she was very norvce she try to resolve but impossible! very offencive hygiene issue. We went to toilet another digister very dirty and more crocach....!!! Now we desided have to left or complain? after a asked to the lady to look your kitchen she says yes and when i look inside the balcony one boy doing something with very massy,surface very dirty. He cut the cheese with dirty dishes as a same place! very bad and very danger with cross-contamination very low cleaning stape. and the kitchen also was not well organize. We are very upset about this situation we want to go as soon as possible server lady excuse and says payment cancel. But we haven't our meal but payment nat a big dil around 30euros. have to improve very well cleaning as a same way have to do good employ to do as a team work. Ele cortou o queijo com louça suja no mesmo lugar! muito ruim e muito perigoso com contaminação cruzada, nível de limpeza muito baixo e a cozinha também não estava bem organizada. Estamos muito chateados com esta situação, queremos ir o mais rápido possível, a atendente desculpa e diz que o pagamento foi cancelado. Mas não temos a nossa refeição, mas o pagamento é um grande dil em torno de 30 euros. tem que melhorar muito a limpeza da mesma forma que tem que fazer um bom trabalho para fazer em equipe. Não nos ajudamos adequadamente. Nunca mais volte! Higiene horrível.

  Such a great little spot in Biaxa. This was recommended by my hotel and the food was amazing. The only gripe I have is that the shrimp served was not completely deveined. Idk if that's common for Lisbon. The service and ambiance was great. I do think it's a bit expensive for Portugal, however, they target tourists. (Traduzido pelo Google) Um ótimo lugar em Biaxa. Upon our arrival, the reception was very impersonal despite my prior reservation, with an outdoor wait in the rain. No initiative was taken to temporarily seat me in the entrance while waiting for my table to become available. Once seated, we noticed that our table was positioned near a cabinet housing the electrical panel, which unfortunately caused several disruptions throughout the evening. Despite these incidents, our understanding led to our collaboration with the staff to resolve the electrical issues. However, after these inconveniences, we hoped for appropriate compensation. Nevertheless, no form of compensation such as coffee, dessert, or even a digestive was offered by the establishment. The apologies presented proved inadequate. Furthermore, at the time of payment, I had to personally take charge of the payment terminal, as the waitress was unable to do so. In summary, I do not recommend this restaurant if you are seeking attentive service. Even some fast-food establishments in Switzerland offer better customer service.   Really tasty!!! Quaint little Taverna with the most amazing appetizers and dishes. We had steak, cod fish and of course chourice which was flamed to perfection table side (see video). Service was attentive and friendly. Seeing the wine selection tempts us to come back at dinner, but we were advised to make a reservation since they fill quickly around then.   Really good restaurant. Tends to be very crowded so reservation is recommended. They got a second floor (small stairs) but still is very crowded. Friendly staff and fast service.   Cute little taberna. Grilled sea bass and sardines were good, but the octopus salad and 4 portugese "tapas" all lacked some flavors; rice was not cooked thoroughly. The biggest hiccup was that the server selected usd conversion without our consent, adding an unnecessary markup to our bill (never happened anywhere else) and they claimed that they were not able to reverse the payment.   Just got to Lisbon and our hotel gave us a few recommendations for food nearby. Taberna de Bauxa was one of them and we chose this one last night because it was the closest. HOLY MOLY!! This was a great choice! The bread served on the basket we ordered was so good but I had to stop so I may enjoy my entree. We ordered a tapas of shrimp in garlic sauce and mmm...mmm...mmmm! So tasty! I ordered the mushroom risotto and my son had the arroz de mariscos. My risotto was creamy, delicious and hot (temp). My son really enjoyed the rice with the seafood. I took one now and was glad I had the risotto instead. The place is very quaint and the service is great!! The cherry liquor/liqueur at the end of our meal was perfect!! My great server Daniel helped me with food and wine selections and we were able to share a couple of funny stories. As I said to Daniel "one of the rewards of travelling is finding places like this".   Reminiscent of a cozy little neighbourhood trattoria or bistro, Taberna da Baixa was a lovely discovery in Lisbon. The ambience is charming, the service warm and friendly, and the food is superb. From the grilled sardines to the roasted chorizo to the cod with rice and beans, everything was excellent. If you eat one thing there, I would recommend the seafood rice, which was the best thing I ate on this trip!   Went in without reservation for 2 pax but managed to get a seat due to nice service staff. Awesome bunch of wait staff who were friendly and nice. The pan fried shrimps in olive oil and garlic was lovely. Shrimps were fresh and crunchy. Cod fish with cream sauce was another to order since this city is famous for their cod fish. Pica pau beef was well done beef in their marinaded sauce. The highlight was their octopus dish which was so juicy, tender and fresh. In whole, this is an awesome place to dine in. We had the bread, olives and a sharing platter of portugese meats and cheeses, then I had the shrimp risotto which was divine and my partner had the shrimp spaghetti which was amazing.   Dined here twice within our first 4 nights in Lisbon. Quaint little lively space. We had sardines seafood risotto octopus and cod. All were fantastic.   The best meal we had in Lisbon by far! Would recommend to anyone, it’s an authentic, small restaurant, with great service and incredible food. We ordered the prawns to start, then the salmon and the seafood rice for mains. The seafood rice was one of the best seafood dishes I’ve ever had- portion was massive and full on flavour.   The worst experience of our saturday meal at taberna dabaixa! Service and quality of food doesn't match. Tasting menu tapas was disappointed everythings cold and massy.   It is our first trip to Portugal and have been trying different food restaurants in Lisbon - we were on our way back to our hostel and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.   Taberna da Baixa was recommended by the receptionist of our hotel. No website...he told us " no fuss...it's about the food". The tapas Portugese style delicious. We had some tapas as a starter. As a main course Risotto a la Portugal with Cod fish. This Chef is really serious about the Cod fish in his risotto. So tasty. I had a Sirloin Steak Taberna Style which was very nice with delicious baked potatoes. The waitress was very helpful with suggestions. This all for a good price.   It was a recommendation from our hotel and it was definitely worth it. We went there for lunch and we enjoyed the Clams and the bacalhao com nata very much.   We came here for lunch and had the set menu. It was absolutely heavenly, reasonably priced and paired with great wine. We had the black pork as well as the codfish cakes with bean rice. We came back again for dinner, this time trying the grilled sardines as well as the entree platter. Also impeccably good. They kindly swapped one of the dishes when we said we did not eat liver.   Atmosphere: Small but quaint and warm. May need to reserve, but we went on Friday night in October, around 8pm and easily found a table. Food: Wild Mushroom Risotto wasn't amazing but I still enjoyed. Could have been cooked a little longer I think. Also tried the grilled salmon which was good too. Service: Friendly but did take time to get the bill. It had gotten full by the time we finished, so perhaps that's why. Overall a decent choice of restaurant.   Good food. Great flavor and service. I ordered the shrimp pasta, it was really good and the portion size was generous. House wine was decent.   Came here absolutely famished from a full day of visiting Sintra. Close to the city center. The food was good, varied selection, not very expensive (around 12-16€ for a main course). Large pint of beer 4€, good selection of wines. Also very nice and attentive staff. Reservations after 19.00 might be needed, as it got crowded fast.
