  I can highly recommend this place. the whole experience at arkhe was amazing. the staff was lovely and were very well trained they were educated on wine and the food which was served. everyone we asked had an answer to our questions. the menu was one of the most creative and delicious menus we have ever eaten with so much detail and love that you could definitely taste it. Even as omnivores we love the conscious effort to leave the meat and fish out of the menue. If we were to live in lisbon we would be regulars.   Simply delicious and creative. We will be back! My only suggestion would be to take it a bit more slow between courses - plates were literally taken away the minute we put down the fork.   Very good, interesting and partly nice complex vegetarian compositions. Yet some of the dishes were not excellent (especially trend to too much crunchy, one dish too salty, one drink pairing came with a beer which was far too strong to accompany the dish) Service is at best medium for this price level (eg they didn’t say a word why we have not drunk the beer or they have us a wobbling table in the start). Ambiente is more about a trendy hipster bar with loud music. All in all a we had better vegetarian food and better service/Ambiente experience for half of the price - thus therefore not recommended or I would not visit again.   From the moment the door opened to welcome us in, we were treated like good friends arriving for dinner. All of the staff, who clearly enjoy working together, went above and beyond to ensure our evening exceeded expectations. And it most certainly did. The service was warm and attentive without being overly so. The dishes were interesting, exciting, and above all delicious. The wine/beverage pairing was as creative a match as any I have had before.   Arkhe is a Michelin rated experience serving approachable vegetarian fine dining that all can appreciate. From start to finish you will be taken on an amazing culinary journey of amazing food and service. Our group chose the 5 course tasting menu, which we found to be the perfect selection. From the menu, the beetroot and mushroom dishes were the favorite starters, while the kohlrabi and ravioli were the stars of the main course, - with an honorable mention to the pumpkin gnocchi. Both the chocolate and apple desserts were sublime. Course one was served with an amazing homemade sourdough bread and smoked butter, while course two was served with a homemade focaccia and black garlic - amazing! The cocktails were bright, lively, and infused with kombucha. One from our group chose the cheese tasting, and the selection process in and of itself was quite special. Finally, our service was spectacular, with each team member clearly displaying their passion for what they do, and the food they serve.   This place is truly something special. The food was so unique and flavorful, but not too “out there.” Very creative people who are passionate about food work here! The staff was so attentive it was almost scary (just kidding of course, but I went to the bathroom twice and came back to new and nicely folded napkins). We opted for the Carte Blanche menu which was 7 courses for €95. Every course was delicious and presented beautifully. I would definitely visit here again.   Amazing food, good staff, some points of attention. Pros; Best vegetarian food you can imagine. The chef loves to play with acidity and texture and always adds a nice spice to the dishes. On the safe side, but super nice combinations and very clean food. And portioning and timing is spot on! Extremely attentive, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Even new joiners do their utmost to make you feel at home. Amazing coffee with again the signature touch of acidity. Improvements; Hefty wine pairing prices: €80 for less than half glasses is quite the price. Maybe it was because of web summit, but the price value on that end was a bit off. The owner was mostly focused on the "important" web summit clientele and neglected most of the rest. Compensated by the rest, so no issue, but very obvious. The free drink whilst waiting 15mins for my table was charged, but the food was definitely worth the extra cost. I guess without web summit this would have been the perfect dinner. A bebida grátis enquanto esperava 15 minutos pela minha mesa foi cobrada, mas a comida definitivamente valeu o custo extra. Acho que sem o web summit este teria sido o jantar perfeito. O chef certamente merece 1 ou 2 estrelas Michelin.

On this occasion at the new venue, but despite the new surroundings, the atmosphere and essence of the place is still intact. We had the Carte Blanche tasting menu and every single mouthful was a bliss.   Best meal in Lisbon. Over the years I've gotten stingier with my 5-star ratings because of places like this. Each dish is a celebration of beauty, flavor, and innovation. The bread came with black garlic, smoked butter, and a tapanade. I didn't know I needed cherry gazpacho in my life until now. It is pointless to rave over each plate's flavor and presentation, because you won't be able to order it since the menu is based on the best available produce at the time. We ordered the 5-course meal, but wish we had gone for the 8-course because it was all plate-licking delicious. Trust the chef. The service is attentive, but not intrusive.   Absolutely amazing food in a relaxed but great venue. Lovely staff, excellent service and proof, if needed, that vegetarian and vegan food can be wow with the right chefs. Only minor minor points to improve would be slightly quicker service when we first arrived and being able to choose wine from a selection, rather than just what we were told about (which was still great). The staff were very kind and helpful under the on-point coordination of the owner, who was kind and answered all of our questions about the restaurant and dishes.   Absolutely best vegan I have ever had!. Such interesting ingredients and completion. As non vegan, I am always a bit skeptical about vegan food but here taught me that food is great when it tastes wonderful. We went for lunch and did not try entire course but the next time we will. There is nothing wrong with service, friendly staff. But when you serve course menu, you need a bit more attending attitude than bring food and tell what it is. But it is very minor.   To begin with I have limited vegan/vegeterian experience. Tried the full course menu, liked most dishes, maybe a couple felt a bit overwhelming/unbalanced. The beetroot consome had a very intense flavior from the mustard seeds. The course with the cacao jus was also hard to finish without water/wine. All other dishes though were very nice. Service was great, my friend had a health issue therefore couldnt eat a lot and they were very attentive and understanding.   Been here twice now and somehow it just keeps up an amazing experience through and through. The food: absolutely amazing. I am not normally a vegan/vegetarian, but I get _so_ excited about going here because the taste of everything is just so well done and beautiful. Obviously the top reason for coming. I could describe individual dishes but most likely they will change, suffice to say it is always extremely good, seen 2 seasons already and I can attest to that. The service: Impeccable. From the moment you walk in you are attended to with grace and speed. Sommelier on staff is incredible and entertained my curiosity and questions. My water glass was never empty and the rest of the staff was almost choreographed and in sync. Not to mention the dishes were described to us in both English and Portuguese for the benefit of everyone at our table. I will be returning for another seasonal menu and I’m already looking forward to it.   When my best friend and I (both vegan) dined at Arkhe last spring we realized no other place had nor has yet measured up to the delicious quality of food Arkhe had given us. Vegan, not vegetarian, restaurants are quite limited in Portugal unfortunately so all vegan travellers in/around Lisbon MUST add Arkhe to their list. I will definitely be returning here on my next trip to visit my family!   I've been meaning to post this for AGES but better late than never! My partner and I visited here for lunch over the summer and this was probably the best meal either of us have ever had. We opted for the full vegan tasting menu with the wine pairing and oh my god, everything was just supreme. We've recently started making it a point to visit Michelin restaurants in the places we travel to and this was the beginning of that. I'm quite the picky person and so I was nervous for some of the dishes like the cherry soup (pictured) but it was absolutely delightful. The restaurant is so beautiful with the earth tone decor and luscious plants, the food was delicious and gorgeously plated (and perfectly timed), the wine was fantastic, and the service was impeccable! Every single server was genuinely friendly. One of them took a perfect film photo of us from outside looking in (we had the window seat, best in the house!) and it was a favorite from the trip. Another waitress was really funny and friendly and helping us get just the right video shots for all of the food. Another was incredibly knowledgable on all of the local wines of the region.   Maybe my expectations were too high but I'm very disappointed with the whole experience. The staff is all nice and mean well, but food was really not special, even really flavorless. Vegetarian/Vegan - let alone fine dining - food should be especially creative and tasty. The only dish that wow'ed us was the amuse-bouche, and the watermelon starter was good.   Lazy Vegan Food this IS NOT! Short review: Must try asap! Ensure you get the full degustation with matching wines. Long Review: So I have been dining at Vegan places around the world for some time now. While some were fantastic others were just down right lazy. So what is lazy you ask? Well it is when you sit down to a beautifully decorated dining room with soothing music playing and food comes out on these beautiful hand made creations called plates. The food starts to come out and they look great but shortly after you realise once you have marinaded yourself in to the ambience that it is all but a few charred root vegetables or mushrooms with shave ribbons of other types of veges.. sprinkle on top some micro herbs and flowers voila 30 dollars pls. So this is lazy vegan food. Sure it looks good but absolutely no taste and no imagination flavour wise. Well Arkhe is everything I just said except for one difference. The food tastes amazing! Everything is thought through and created! Nothing is on the plate by chance or lack substance. Everything is well perfect. But just when you taste that bite and go wow.. you take a sip of the wine pairing and then BOOM.. mind blown to think someone just perfected perfection. Am I exaggerating?   I tried booking a table in advance by phone before coming to Lisbon but didn't have any luck getting through. On the afternoon I arrived in Lisbon, I again tried calling several times but my call was never answered. I decided to walk to the restaurant for when it opened to see if a table was available, as I was just one person and would have happily sat at the bar. At 7:30pm, I tried walking into the restaurant as it opened, but a curtain was still drawn across the door making it difficult to enter. When I did get in, the guy at front of house laughed when I asked if anything was available. He can shove every bloody vegetable in the larders mise en place up his backside. I previously worked in Michelin kitchens in London and then as a food and cookbook writer and editor for fine dining and Michelin chefs in the UK. This arrogance in Michelin/fine dining restaurants is so outdated and passe. You're a restaurant, get a voicemail, answer the phone and be polite. I ended up going for vegan sushi at Legumi sushi round the corner which delicious, welcoming and a fraction of the price. Save the hassle and eat there.   We had a spectacular lunch at Arkhe. The food was a breath of fresh air after all the seafood and meat in Lissabon. The staff was really friendly and professional and the food was nothing I've ever tasted before. Really creative vegetarian dishes prepared with love.   Dazzled? That might describe our reaction to lunch at Arkhe. Vegetarian food- singing with complex flavors, textures and harmony? Yes. And wines that elicited "DAMN! that's good" - and then proceeded to dance with the courses? Yes, again. Three of us choose the 3 course meal- and each of us choose different dishes- so, 9 plates in total. EACH dish had surprising, ingredient combinations with thrilling flavors - simultaneously diverse and harmonious. The service was personable and exemplary. A truly amazing lunch.   I’ll be honest. It felt gimmicky and cheap. All the dishes contained some sort of fried element which made the dishes all feel greasy, clumsy and repetitive. An overused technique to introduce texture into the dish, which just comes to show a lack of talent for creating a beautiful vegan dish that is complex, hypnotic, avant-garde and more so than anything, tasty. Very creative but simple, delicious food (lots of amazing vegan options), a calming interior and great wine selection and perfect Service that is just polite and careing without being too present.   I ordered the 5 meal vegan option. Overall, the food was tasty, beautiful and well executed. Some of the dishes were better than others. The main vegan dish with kimchi tortellini was amazing, however the carrot main was disappointing. The vegan dessert was ok. Everything was really fine, but nothing really blew me away from the perspective of culinary innovation. I had slightly higher expectations considering the reviews and recommendations. The price also seems too high considering everything. Lastly, the wood chairs are extremely uncomfortable making it a bit harder to fully enjoy the experience.   Came here with one other person for lunch. We each chose the three course set which is two entrees and one dessert. We chose different items so that we could try a little bit of everything. The service is excellent and the food quality simply outstanding. The mushroom tortellini in dashi is unforgettable. The desserts are really enjoyable. Worth every cent. Make sure you have enough time to really savour it, not a quick in and out sort of lunch place. Would definitely hope to make it here for dinner next time we are in Lisboa.   It's great that there is a vegetarian fine dining restaurant that is not crazy expensive. We got a bottle of Lisbon white wine (I forgot the name of it) and it was fantastic! I am still dreaming of the wine a week later. We ordered the 5 course menu and the courses ranged from amazing to blah. For a starter we had a ravioli with egg yolk inside and shaved truffle on top and that was great. It was a special dish so normally not on the menu which is unfortunate because if we didn't have that ravioli then the meal would have mostly been blah. They should definitely take the pumpkin main off the menu because it was as dry as cardboard. The desserts were disappointing as well. All in all, we were glad to have had the opportunity to do vegetarian fine dining, even if they do not let you keep your bottle of wine at the table and come pour you a centimeter of wine at a time (we would have bought a second bottle of wine if we could have self-poured!). No geral, ficamos satisfeitos por ter tido a oportunidade de fazer refeições vegetarianas requintadas, mesmo que não lhe deixem guardar a sua garrafa de vinho à mesa e vir servir-lhe um centímetro de vinho de cada vez (teríamos comprado um segunda garrafa de vinho se pudéssemos nos servir!).   Incredible meal with outstanding service. Enjoyed the style of the menu with the choice of 3, 5 or 7 courses and the flexibility of adding in specials.   Every single dish of food we had was simply excellent. We enjoyed every bite. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere/decor very trendy and pleasant, with the perfect noise level for conversation. They have a rotating menu with fixed price / course tiers. We highly recommend. One thing worth mentioning though is that the portions are rather quite small for the steeper prices, including the glasses of wine which aren’t quite 5oz.   Arkhe was recommended to me by a colleague, and when I first looked into the restaurant, I knew it would be a great dinner. We chose to have 5 courses, with wine pairings, all decided for us by the team. My expectations were far exceeded; every dish was delicious, beautifully plated and thoughtfully paired with a wine. Service was impeccable, timing and attention to detail were perfect. I wish that we were in Lisbon a little bit longer so we could try the rest of the menu before we return home to Slovakia. I dare not post the photos I took, as they won't do justice to the food, or the skill of the chef. A perfect dinner, and great surprise night out for my almost-vegetarian wife.   I had been to vegetarian restaurants before but this one takes it to the next level! Well done to the team behind. The experience starts when you enter, there is a rather chilled atmosphere, it's quiet yet animated and the staff are elegantly dressed. The bread served was delicious and so were all the dishes. A particular attention was given to the presentation of the menu and the wines. I wished I took photos of all dishes as there ware all superb. A safe address if you want to try somethign new or if you're not sure about vegetarian food. We only went for the 3 courses menu but will definitely come again to try the 5 or 7 tasting menus.   Great tasting and well executed food, presented in a beautiful manner. Unfortunately the experience was sourerd by them overcharging me for the wine, which luckily I noticed. I was also charged for bread, even though this was put on my table at the beginning of meal without asking if I wanted it, so presumed that it was part of the meal that I ordered. I went for the seven course meal which wasn't cheap either, so wouldn't have expected to have to pay extra for bread.   I entered Arkhe with very high expectations and left absolutely satisfied with my experience. From the atmosphere and decoration to the food and service, everything was perfect. All the dishes were amazing in flavor and texture, however there were one or two that could have the flavor more intense in my opinion.   Loved everything we ordered here! Our waiter was very helpful in selecting some awesome dishes. My favorite was the kimchi tortellini. And the “green” (young) wine was not only delicious but I cannot believe the price point at €4.5 per glass! Unbelievable value!!!
