The vibe is immaculate, you feel so homey and at ease, yet it’s such an elevated atmosphere!   I don’t have many words for this place other than that we had a perfect dinner. We had the octopus, pork ribs and… I forgot the last item but I’ve attached the photo. Sadly the kitchen had closed (just before 11pm) but the views and cocktails made up for it, prices are quite high but measures are strong so it balances out!   I came here for drinks before and it was super busy but coming for brunch was a really nice experience. They have some good veggie and vegan options and the view is lovely. The staff are also very friendly and we’re accommodating for our very large table. Great place for a good view and something tasty to eat!   The place is under construction so you will not be able to enjoy the view. Inside is tiny and closed doors so when crowded, it’s not the best place to breathe. On top of this, the service and food was terrible. I ordered Vegan shakshuka where I found some human hair and I didn’t manage to eat it. Waiter tried to be nice and asked if I want another meal aka same plate. I was already disgusted by the food so I didn’t . And instead of being nice and not bill for sth wasted that I didn’t eat, they charged full price - no one bothered to verify or even check / I was not wowed by the service.   Java seems like a really cool place during summer but not so much during this winter. We got there and the lift was out of service and their terrace was under construction, so we had to walk up 5 stories and sit inside which wasn't ideal but it's still lovely and I'd go back despite this. I have a slight grievance with the service though. In the course of the night, I ordered a tequila on the rocks. It wasn't on the menu but I saw it at the bar so I ordered it. They gave me 2 options of tequilas and I chose Patron resperado. Now it's not really an issue, but I was surprised that 1 glass was €16,5. This was their most expensive drink yet they didn't mention that since I didn't know the prices. I had 2 and it was lovely, but when someone orders a drink, asks the waiter for a recommendation since it's not on the menu, I'd definitely expect to be told be given a hint that it's the most expensive drink haha Anyway, will definitely go back and will likely not have the tequila again.   The place to enjoy the sunset on a clear day. Their dirty chai was such a comfort to have when it’s cold outside. Food order (at least at the terrace) is self service; order and pay at the counter and collect when the food and drinks are ready. They give a buzzer to let you know when the order is ready. Interestingly, I did not have anyone by the entrance to usher me to the seat and I had to figure the menu myself. Although the person by the counter was cool and friendly, he gave me the option if I want to include tip in my payment - which was weird for a self-service.   Definitely start with the bread and dip plate! The flatbread, semi-burnt, has amazing taste and texture. Follow up with one or two shared plates, we got the beef skewers and don’t think they would be this juicy and flavorful. Main dish was grilled octopus which was a revelation. We finally topped it off with a brownie dessert. This was for two people and all about 80 euros (without drinks and tip). The views are pretty but much better with the sun out. The service was excellent with Igor, the attendant, always there to check on us and see how we are doing. Overall, I will visit here again. Great seafood!   This really is one of the best restaurants in the city. Service was great, food was just superb. Don't skip dessert! Lots of very good vegetarian and vegan dishes and stunning views. Just a little hard to find, go into the building and take the elevator to the roof. Just make sure to reserve a table (especially if you plan to go here in the evening).   Food is great, as always. Last time, though, the music was so loud that a relaxed conversation at the table of 6 was impossible. That conflicts somehow with the intended chilled atmosphere. We used to have dinner straight after international expert meetings at Java Rooftop, but this time we had to exclude the Lebanese mother of a three-month old baby from the dinner, because no form of child under 12 is allowed into the restaurant. This is the most deplorable form of Lisbon's gentrification: that the worst of German mores are applied now here as well. The colleague participated - while breastfeeding - at all meetings at an EU agency, but was not allowed with the baby into our post-training dinner, because of Javás admission rules.   Very nice view at this rooftop bar with a lot of places. Were there two evenings in 4 days and both times we had a nice place to sit outside. Outside there is selfservice at the bar, the service there is not really friendly.   For me the best spot in Lisbon whether it’s just to have a drink with the most beautiful view or to have the best food you can imagine. The kitchen is amazing, excellent quality and served in a way that is at the same time fancy but also just shows the skills of the chef as well as the quality of the products.   For a place in the middle of a very touristic neighbourhood, the vibe was quite relaxed, staff friendly and particularly an amazing view. Going for a late lunch/afternoon break was nice because it was a lot less crowded than the crazy busy sunset time (if you want to attend sunset there, I recommend booking a table). As far as food is concerned: it was ok, but having spent a couple of weeks in Lisbon, this was really the least in terms of price to quality ratio. Food was ok, not great, and very overpriced. I guess that' s what you pay for the location and view. Music was nice, although quite loud. I enjoyed very much the crushed-basil lemonade.   The rooftop bar and restaurant are just so enjoyable on a nice day and you'll have a great view of the bay.   Super cozy location and decor that gives beach/boho vibes. You go up with an elevator and at the bottom of the elevator there is someone who makes sure that everyone gets in and out smoothly and checks if you have a reservation. It is best to make a reservation, but they told us we could always see if there was a table free. We were then given the option upstairs to enjoy a nice drink at the bar while we waited for a table to be free (works with a waiting list). But we were lucky and a table was immediately free. The staff there was very friendly and spoke good English. The food there was delicious and served really quickly. We took the veggie hummus as our sharing plate. It was very fresh and delicious, only negative point is that we only got 2 small flatbreads (we were two persons, so 1 piece each) with the hummus which was not really enough to eat the with hummus. Then I took the pork ribs (spicy), these tasted like heaven. The ribs were well marinated, went off the bone very easily and the rice noodles chips matched perfectly. The price is in my opinion still ok because you get good portions and the food is also very tasty. We went for dinner during the evening in summer, just know that it can get a little chilly in the late evening there. But otherwise really recommended, top location with top food. Note that you must be somewhat dressed well and cannot enter in beach attire. There is a certain dress code.   Easy online reservation system. We grabbed an 8 pm reservation which was the perfect time to watch the sunset from the beautiful rooftop. Keep in mind there is a 2 hour time limit for dining in but then you can enjoy the rooftop bar area at your leisure. 2 hours was actually the perfect amount of time for dinner.   Loved the vibe of Java for a sunset meal however, I would say the restaurant is more about the experience than the food. Our food was nice enough but nothing spectacular. If returning it would only be for drinks rather than a meal. The service was good and our waiter was attentive.   5 stars for the restaurant, 3 stars for the bar. Went to the restaurant first and had a great time, amazing food and cocktails and fab service, great atmosphere. The food had amazing presentation, we all ended up going for vegan food and the portions while they looked a little small were filling enough and we all enjoyed them thoroughly. I had the roasted pumpkin. Went out to the terrace for more drinks and felt like we were being herded like cattle. We were told about 3 times that we couldn't stand in various different places and shunted about, didn't enjoy it at all. Fully recommend the restaurant but don't bother with the terrace unless it's quiet or you've booked a table for it.   Incredible rooftop in the center of Lisbon! Perfect for a brunch or to meet for a drink for the sunset. We went on Sunday, and it was pretty full so I recommend to go with a reservation. The prices at fair for the quality of the food, the location and the attention and service. We tried the pancakes with crispy chicken, the meaty and veggie satsuka and the avocado dish.   Had a mostly amazing meal here. I’m telling you the menu is incredible. Really inspired dishes executed very well. The decor, general atmosphere, and food trend in the direction of this restaurant being acknowledged on the Michelin guide but unfortunately their service doesn’t measure up with the quality of everything else Javá is serving up. Host and serving staff need some serious polish. The waiter forgot to enter two entrees into the POS system at the time of the order which meant two guests had to wait to eat after the whole rest of the party had already finished their meal. We were only given a verbal apology for what is one of the most egregious errors you can make in the service industry which was baffling. It’s a glaringly amateurish move from a restaurant that is clearly trying to make a name for itself in this vibrant city.   Nice roof top but the queue was too long to get a cocktail, also quite pricey. I've since been back twice at lunch time and the food was amazing, lots of staff during the day that were very attentive. The chicken pancakes were very fluffy and crispy, the lamb and egg dish was delicious, and very rich. The views are gorgeous, I much prefer java during the day.   Loved the restaurant, they serve quickly and the food and drinks are tasty. We paid 80€ for 2 people. We especially loved the Naan as an entrée, their local beer and their tapas (the buratta and the hummus were amazing, but the octopus was tasteless). Servers are friendly and reactive.   The food was absolutely delicious. If I went back, I’d order everything all over again! The vibe is super low key, kinda hip and younger vibe. The music playing put you in a happy dance mood. So after you eat, head out to the outside lounge/bar area. They have a walk up window to get drinks so you can sit outside on their rooftop. We went for dinner so it was dark out, the view was cute with all the lights out in the distance. I give the 4 stars because the service was slow. Our waitress was not in sight for a while and had to ask another sever two different times for assistance in getting beverages. Make reservations! The place is small inside and it’s pretty popular! You only get a set amount of time for your reservation as well and when you have 15 minutes left, you’re definitely going to be reminded to wrap up and get ready to leave because the next reservation is there. When you order your beverage, get the hummus for an app - That’s probably the best hummus I’ve had! Also if you’re a seafood eater, the octopus and polenta!   This place feels tucked away as you have to go into a building & then a member of staff lets you into the lift up to Java. Felt very exciting. We showed up without a reservation with a backup plan incase they were too full. We were happy to know we could be seated at the bar for table service! The place itself is gorgeous - so trendy, full of plants & beautiful interior decor, great view from the rooftop & so relaxed! We never felt rushed. A great vibe. Fabulous service. And then the food...it was to die for. Amazing. Highly recommend the broccoli starter & miso ribs! I am Canadian & love a good barbecue - these ribs were cooked perfectly and the miso sauce was phenomenal. Also, I tried oysters for the first time! So good! I had them again at another place & didn't like them. If you want to try oysters/don't usually like the flavour...these have other flavours from the prawn, sauce & batter to make them very unique. For drinks, we ordered red wine & a flavourful, very unique juice we would also recommend trying. All in all - GO HERE! Does not disappoint.   This restaurant feels magical. The view and lighting are so lovely, and the food is extraordinary. I think it is one of the more expensive restaurants in Lisbon for good reason. The dishes and drinks are inventive and delicious! The atmosphere is both inviting and luxurious. We saw the chefs & staff meeting and spending time talking together inside the restuarant before starting the dinner shift and you can tell that a lot of teamwork and skill goes into the experiences we've had eating here.   I had an amazing time at Java. The food, ambiance and service is five star. I wish I took pictures of the venue it was very cute, stylish and well decorated. Also, they had lights up for the holiday which is a nice touch. I went with a friend, it’s definitely a cute ladies night or date location. I ordered the Summer Spritz drink and octopus with whipped polenta for our main course. The food was exceptional and the best octopus I’ve had thus far.   Java is a beautifully located rooftop restaurant. The cocktail drinks had a unique flavor profile. All our food items were delicious- a prawn starter in a miso butter sauce, octopus polenta (perfectly coo- a!), tropical which had a multi-layered flavor profile, and the pork rib and Deliciously braised with a mild spicy kick.   We came here for dinner. The patio was quite busy when we arrived so we sat inside, but it was still an excellent view. The ribs were our favorite item on the menu and the resto is beautiful.   An amazing spot, with panoramic views out towards the bridge. They have a restaurant, however we just opted to have a drink from the bar and sit to enjoy the views whilst the sun was setting! We had a margarita and a spritz, both of which were delicious and well made (around €12 each I believe, typical for most rooftops - you are also paying for the amazing views which are worth it!) The staff were also really friendly, offering blankets to guests as it got a bit chilly outside which was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the music being played, and thought the general atmosphere of the bar was great. Would recommend as a first stop to catch the sunset before heading into town for food/drinks!   We went to Java Rooftop for dinner in the evening to celebrate my birthday with a nice view over Lisbon. The location is quite pretty although I'd recommend taking some warm clothes as the outside seating area with it's roof don't really hold the wind back that much. We only survived the evening because they offered blankets to the guests. Otherwise they also offer inside seats, however there you don't have such a nice view. Regarding food, we chose the vegan options on the menu, which were all really delicious and tasty. Only the asparagus dish was a quite tiny dish and was not worth the 11€ we payed. The other dishes were really good, they definitely know how to make vegetables taste like meat! After the food you can head over to the terrace and have more drinks along with some snacks. Overall a good place, not too price as you would expect from a rooftop restaurant.   Tried their brunch menu on a Friday afternoon. The food is surprisingly tasty considering my low expectations for brunch foods. The four of us ordered 5 dishes to share and was pleased with pretty much all of them. The lamb skewers and beef with hummus in particular were outstanding. Maybe it was just our first night in Lisbon, but visiting this place for our first dinner made an impression to say the least. Literally from the security guard to the hostess to our waiter and bartenders. This place was just vibing and all about good times. The food is fusion style. Loved the spicy pork and burrata salad. Our waitress was very attentive and chatted us up like old friends. The music was upbeat but groovy. Some people started dancing by the bar towards the end of the night. The drinks are that strong. To get there: You need to enter through a side door of a hotel building on Carvalho street and walk through the inner courtyard.   The place is cool. Not so far from pink street. The building is easy to find but not easy to find the entrance. As it's hidden inside the building (you'll know what I meant when you're there) The view is nice, you'll see nice portugeese houses and rivers. What to expect?   Very good food for brunch or snacking. Fresh drink with many healthy choices. Amazing view of the bridge and King Christ statue.   My favorite spot in Lisbon! Fantastic dinner, but I absolutely love the brunch pancakes. Great view, cool vibe and adorable staff.
