  This place would have been 4 stars or a little more but there were a few issues 1) Restaurant opened 30min later than listed 2) Only one waiter so he was busy. But he was very friendly and served us free ginjinha to try 3) The food was fine. Decent salad bar and hot items were decent but no dessert included. 4) The price is good for the buffet. What made this LOW is that my husband went to the restroom before dinner and found an undead cockroach in the sink. This completly turned him off the meal and he reluctantly only ate the hot food.   Some music would go a long way to making a comfortable atmosphere. It was so quiet in the restaurant. The server was totally annihilated (drunk) while making an attemp at serving guests.   Don't get fooled by the vegetarian options, there was only one tasteless spinach lasagne, even the boiled potatoes were made with meat broth. The celling has mysterious black thing on it (huge mold?) and I wish there was music playing. Apart from that the service was friendly and the food was tasty.   Can't recommend this restaurant enough! We came here because it was raining and it was close to our apartment and now we are so glad that it was raining!!! This was our favourite meal in Lisbon! All you can eat buffet for under €20 and all offerings were delicious. We are very into different foods and this was all just excellent! Thank you to Ricardo who is so passionate about his job, even after 18 years here!! He treated every customer so well! And also to Bernardo and Miguel! At 7.15 pm someone lets us in and tells us the restaurant may open at 7.30 pm but he’s unsure because his colleague didn’t arrive. Felt like homemade food and a little different to lots of the other restaurants we visited in Lisbon. Our 4 and 6 year old daughters also enjoyed the food.   Our first meal in Portugal and it was an excellent way to try out Portuguese food. The salad bar complimented the main courses, we enjoyed the creamy cod pie, mussels, spinach lasagne and chicken stew. It was good to have loads of vegetables to eat too. Would recommend making a reservation in advance for sure. They also have more food options during dinner so I would recommend coming then even though lunch is a bit cheaper.   Omg the food was so delicious and yummy. The buffet is totally worth it for about $€18 at dinner. You get some tasty food. The Russian salad was delightful didn't think it would be that good a must try. The grape tomato and olive salad was one of my favorites with the light sliced bred 👍 ....so good ... The best dish for me was the smoked sea food pasta. It was good lolol . There weren't alot of items to choose from, but it seemed perfect not to overwhelm you... The server was high with energy and gave us a free shot because the card machine to pay was not working. Bring cash just in case you plan on eating here and at many other restaurants on the stairs 😊. sometimes, they only accept cash. And you the atm mau charge you equal to your dinner with convertion fee. The carrot soup was warm and soothing too 😋. Rosa da Rua is not wheelchair accessible.   If you are in Lisbon and you are not or have not eaten here you should be ashamed of yourself! Riccardo was extremely welcoming, and having recently taken holiday in our next destination he even gave recommendations for other towns in other countries! Bernardo was very friendly and attentive as well. The food was some of the best we have had since in Portugal, and that was NOT a low bar. Also you Must have the Sangria. Our next stop is in Spain so my wife and daughters had planned to wait but SO happy they didn’t. I’m not typically a sangria fan but I ended up ordering a second pitcher for dessert it sooo good.   Authentic homemade small buffet. 5 different mains and a broad range of options for your starter. The pea soup is amazing. Food taste extremely wholesome and is definitely home cooked, which is unbeatable. We paid €18 pp and each euro was well spent. Staff were knowledgeable and bilingual which is a great plus.   Food and service was amazing! My girlfriend and I loved every single dish at the buffet from mushroom chicken to lasagna to the pork. There was so much to pick from! The dining experience was so cozy and the owner was EXTREMELY friendly. He even took pictures of my gf and I from Inside and outside the restaurant! Loved our experience and food here!   A joyful and manifold taste of Portuguese cuisine! The buffet cost us 38 Euros for two people to eat as much as we wanted, and the food was all delicious! The staff was tremendously kind. Eat here felt like we somehow snuck away from the touristy sections of town and into the secret local pocket where all the natives know to get a great meal. We loved it!   We were here years ago and loved it so much we had to come back. One of the best local food places we’ve found in Lisbon. They make fresh dishes every day and it’s a buffet-style restaurant, so there’s no menu. You can call in advance to reserve a table and ask what’s for lunch/dinner that day!   The service was fabulous. We wandered up to the restaurant at the busy time of night. I asked if we could be seated. The staff checked to see if reservations were arriving as expected.   Lovely place and staff. Fresh, high quality food. My misses and myself loved it. She is a picky eater, usually she picks on something that she did not like.   What an awesome place to have a great dinner! They have a daily changing buffet (4 main courses: fish and meat; different side dishes; a salad bar) with fresh ingredients! The buffet was 19,40€ per person (all you can eat), drinks and desserts not included. I can highly recommend the house vine ;) The team is really friendly and also English speaking. If you want to make a reservation, just call them via phone! Ignore the given homepage 😅 I was unable to open it (needs a flash player, which is no longer supported by adobe) and according to our waiter, it shows the entrance of another restaurant.   Happened on this restaurant looking for a place for lunch. Went in to look at the menu and were told it was a buffet. While we didn't really want a buffet after looking at all the wonderful salads and hot dishes we decided to stay. My friend and I went in as Americans scared of trying Portugese cuisine, but this restaurant is the perfect way to sample it all without having to commit! It is a small buffet with plenty of options that you will for sure find something you like! Even my friend has a gluten intolerance was stuffed leaving! It is very affordable at 17 euro for dinner and my 5.80 euro glass of sangria was HUGE! It feels like you are eating in the home of a Portuguese Grandmother which makes the experience great and authentic! Reservations are a must! Next time I'm in Lisbon we will definitely be back!   Found this place on TikTok, so decided to stop in tonight, during my visit in Lisbon. The food was delicious ! The server was also very friendly and explained all of the dishes. Local food was good it was interesting but at the same time the limited selection really didn't give me a feel for the Portuguese Cuisine. The Eclectic dining decor and the very attentive and extremely helpful team make Rosa a great place to be in a great place to experience if you're in the Barrio Alto in Lisbon but again it just didn't knock my socks off. The nice lady made us three fried chicken filet sandwiches with lettuce. This is a heavy party district and observed that kitchen was taking orders and making sandwiches at 0330 on Sunday morning. From the delicious fresh , home tasting food to the selection and the staff interaction . We had two waiters and both if them were friendly and genuine.   This place is a gem. I'm sad I didn't give it a try the first day I came across it online. I went there twice before leaving Lisbon. It's 14.50 euros per person for all you can eat (buffet style), dessert and drinks are not included. The white sangria is the best, they also give you a complimentary shot of ginja with a check. It's Portuguese sweet cherry liquor which is absolutely delicious. The food is different day to day and everything is so tasty. Just like mom's cooking. They do have "bacalhau a bras' daily - it's a traditional Portuguese dish which is baked creamy cod and potatoes, the best version I've had in Lisbon so far. They have options for vegetarians too. The service is great. Sandra, Rodrigo and Bernardo took care of us and they all were amazing. Sweet guys, very attentive, all speak English. Sandra's got a great sense of humor as well.   we had our first Portuguese meal here, restaurant chosen at the last minute after realising the one we'd planned to go to was a hill climb away. :-) It was a good choice though. A quality buffet, meaning we got to sample a range of Portuguese cuisine and really appreciated how the friendly staff gave us a full run through of the dishes. Compared to the slightly aloof service we'd received at a nearby bar just before this meal, the warm and friendly service was most welcome and provided us with a great start to our long weekend in Lisbon. Staff were really friendly and our waiter (great guy with dreadlocks) was amazing and made us feel so welcome and was really helpful. Spoke great English which helped too.   Too bad I can’t give 0 stars as this place is absolutely terrible. Lets start positive: the waiters are friendly and the food is OK (really basic and overpriced as in lisbon for 14,95 you can have great food in other places -not here/). The worst part is the atmosphere, the place is small and tables are really close together, there is no music and nobody really talks. Decoration is weird (I had a placement with +/- 50 cats on it :s). There is also no portuguese person and only tourists (for reasons above). Vamos começar pelo positivo: os garçons são simpáticos e a comida é boa (muito básica e cara, pois em Lisboa por 14,95 você pode comer boa comida em outros lugares - aqui não). O pior é o ambiente, o lugar é pequeno e as mesas são bem próximas umas das outras, não tem música e ninguém conversa muito. A decoração é estranha (tive uma colocação com +/- 50 gatos: s). Também não há portugueses e apenas turistas (pelos motivos acima).

  Great place to taste different Portuguese dishes. Buffet cost around €15 per adult with drinks and desserts charged extra. Very friendly staff and good food. Everything perfectly seasoned. Would definitely recommend. Better book in advance if you want to avoid disappointment. I've seen lots of people turned away as tables were either busy or reserved...   Beautiful, fresh and healthy Portuguese food. Also great value for money. In a four night stay we came here twice it was that good. Staff were really nice and attentive.   Outstanding! The best meal I had in Lisbon by far! The food was absolutely incredible. It is buffet style but not the cheap and nasty style that you'd typically see in England.
