A great little find! Food was extremely yummy, my favorite was the rib-eye toast. I wish I could rate more stars to this restaurant. At first, it looks just like a normal hip restaurant with a service quite casual, but the food is just supberb and without a doubt in my top 3 restaurants. I'm Portuguese and I had the best arroz de cabidela (cordorniz) I've eaten in my life. Both the choco-choco (squid ceviche) and the prawns just melted in the mouth. Last but not least the veal toast was one of the best meat flavours I've had in quite some time. Congratulations to the chef! Ambience is lively and relaxed for a Saturday evening. All tables were taken or cycled through. We were two and shared all dishes, left feeling satisfied in terms of quantity but not uncomfortably stuffed. The cold garlic raw shrimp is very good and unexpectedly flavored. Starts with a smooth subtle flavor then you get the taste of the ocean followed by a delicious spicy after taste of the bitter roasted garlic. The bonito in escabeche sauce has good quality sashimi-grade raw bonito that should be served on its own, without the forgetful bland escabeche emulsion. The grilled cabbage and broccoli dish tastes very good from the charred cabbage and the broccoli paste until you are hit with a cloying overpowering sugary syrup drizzle that sadly brings down the dish a couple of notches. But the grouper covered in fish broth emulsion and the spinach sauce is just fantastic: the fish is perfectly steam cooked and the sauces covering it are perfect complementary. The food was definitely tasty, but slightly overpriced. The staff were very friendly indeed, but the service was incredibly slow. Giving a 2-star review only bc we even had to ask for our drinks twice -- half an hour later after we ordered till we got them. The service was amazing, but the food was hit or miss. Some of it was delicious and some of it was fine, but the marketing around Oficio had me expecting something consistently incredible. So, I can't say the food is uniformly mind-blowing, but it's worth at least one visit. Go in a group so that you can try more things. We ate eight different dishes in our group of four, plus two desserts, and six out of the eight were really good. Do not miss the flan, whatever you do. The first time I visited oficio, might be the last. Although the restaurant looks good, the service is just average, very loud music, and the waiters know little to nothing about the food, at least the one that attended my particular table. Regarding the food, there were some highlights like the cheese tart and the tartare, but overall not only the portions are small some of the food is bland, don’t go for the monkfish, this dish is ridiculously priced at 33€ for a very bland 4 small pieces of monkfish with average sauce. Ofício was a fun experience. We let the waitress pick most of the dishes that we ate as we wanted their recommendations and generally speaking, they were pleasant. There was a dish here or there that wasn’t quite worth the money and that was the only downside as it was overpriced. The service was very strong. This was the restaurant that I had more expectations of and maybe it is because of all the reviews I read before. Food is good and there's nothing bad to say knowing the concept of the restaurant which offers small plates to share. However, it's not clear that some dishes are really small and other ones are a good size, for me the menu is not so clear. Service is okay, everyone is friendly but I didn't like my wine suggestion. I wanted a full bodied red wine and I've got an okay-ish red wine (Quinta da Foz, duoro) that I was expecting way more, so I didn't feel listened when I was trying to get a good recommendation regarding this. The atmosphere is well decorated and everything is good, only they should play the music a bit quieter because there's too much noise all together. Good restaurant but I've been to other ones that were less expensive than offered me a better food experience. There are way better options in Lisbon. The place is well designed and it's comfortable. Chairs could use some cleaning. Music could be a bit quieter. Staff really depends on the person. Some were super nice, other a bit pedantic. But most important, let's talk about the food. I wouldn't say the food is bad, because it's not. But it's not memorable at all. And for the price range and portion size it's really not worth it. They say that the concept is to share (like all new restaurants these days) but the only dishes you can really share are the mains, and even these ones, if you share you end up with two small bites. We, a party of 2, had 6 entrances, a main and a dessert and I couldn't say we left feeling full. We wouldn't mind that at all, if the food had been really good. Overall I would say, invest less on Instagram pictures and focus on having good food and fair prices. P.s.--> The cheesecake is really good. The lighs went out in the middle of the service, and there was a cockroach walking around that a server was quick to grab with a napkin! We ate at Oficio twice during our visit to Lisbon. The food is inventive and the service welcoming. We were fortunate to visit on their Tuesday guest chef night and had some of the most amazing bites, from a tomato salad with granita to oxtail rice. Everything about Ofício was perfect! As soon as we walked in, everyone was very kind and helpful, and the interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated. We got the full explanation of the menu, and ordered a few items to share. We started with one oyster each, I thought the sauce was okay, but the oyster itself was really fresh. Next, we got the jamon iberico (black pig ham) with sourdough (10/10 so so delicious). A standout was the veal and bone marrow tartare, a generous portion with large chunks of veal in a delicious sauce with whole grain mustard, and also the big chunks of bone marrow that came on top. Paired with the buttered brioche, it was so rich, 11/10. We finished with the pork pillows and the oyster mushrooms, and we thought the oyster mushrooms were delicious (10/10 great flavour and char) but next time we would skip the pork pillows. Fantastic mid day snack. The veal and bone marrow tartare had a light beefy flavour that just melted on your tongue. The sea vegetable was refreshing, and the Cuttle fish on Cuttle fish was just perfect. He cheese tart was had so many textures! Huge disappointment. Maybe all the great reviews come from the regular menu, but I don't get it. Food was okay (didn't blow my mind) and we literally got about six bites of food each - total. Not even exaggerating. We left the place HUNGRY after spending $200 euros. Zero atmosphere (bright lights, LOUD) and sporadic service. We were so excited to visit this restaurant but will never be back to visit again. We booked about a month before visiting. A week before we arrived they emailed to say they didn't have the table we had already booked in the reataurant and only had a table available at half 9. We arrived and stood waiting to be seated for around 15 minutes. Our server didn't take a drinks order until we were ready to order food, again around 15 minutes after being seated. He then proceeded to forget one of our mains and forgot our dessert. The service was absolutely terrible. Not to blame all the staff at all, as the host and the lady running the section next to ours were amazing! But the gentleman running our section was awful. No check backs on food, didn't offer us a drink all evening even though we had an empty bottle of wine for around an hour, spent the last half hour of our time there stood at by the kitchen chatting to the chefs. He saw us finish desserts and rather than clear our table and offer us our bill, he just said 'Desserts done then?' and walked off to chat to the kitchen staff again. The portion sizes were tiny, specials were flavourless, don't ever order the mullet. Only saving grace was the cheesecake which was genuinely amazing. Seen a few posts regarding the same server on here, hopefully they realise soon as all the other staff were so nice and attentive. Ofício has been on my list for awhile now, so I was very excited to finally try this place out. The design of the restaurant is beautiful - clean, warm, bright and inviting. Service was relatively attentive (although we had struggled to get the servers attention at times) and the food came out at a steady time. All of the dishes were delicious! The tartare was a crowd favorite. The only thing I was disappointed with were the portion sizes - for the price you’re paying, I would expect the dishes to be bigger. Other than that, the menu is creative and food is delicious. Very refined tastes with a wide variety of flavours. We came here due to the Michelin recommendation, it was once again a good choice. Dishes are shared, which allows you to experience more different dishes. We ordered 4 openers and then one main (bigger). This was enough in portions. We were full. The pros : some excellent dishes such as the veal tartare, the sea vegetable tacos or the cheese tart, generally quick service. The cons : service was a bit irregular, our last dish got served after they had cleared the table for dessert. When asked for a good “Vinho Verde”, the waiter came back with a bottle not on the list and costing more than any of the wines on the list (42 euros). Portion size of some dishes (meant to be shared) was very small. Volume of the soundtrack was a bit too high when we arrived but was decreased after some other patrons complained. I was in Lisbon solo and walked in for lunch at 2:30. There were at least 3 tables for 2 available, but the hostess insisted they were all booked and that I sit at the bar instead (which was a semicircle and I would have been sandwiched between two groups). Oficio is a conceptual restaurant full of personality and great staff. We went on tuesday to celebrate "5 doses" (a concept where they invited chefs, dj's and wine specialists to take the lead). Hit and miss dishes. Although the customer service was good, the concept of the menu was poorly explained to us. For instance “cold” dishes means raw, and dishes were priced inconsistently across the menu depending on size. Furthermore some dishes regularly shown on Google photos are no longer available. Listed as Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide (delineates a good casual restaurant), Oficio feels fresh, modern and trendy. The food is a mixture of cold dishes, small bites and larger hot dishes. Overall, food is of a high standard - I thought the raw prawn, and leek dishes were particularly good, but I did not enjoy their signature oven baked rice, finding it was stodgy, greasy and tasted like someone had poured barbecue sauce over the top. Wine list is excellent - well-curated, and good value - wines start at $4.50 a glass Staff are helpful and pleasant too. Unfortunately, our experience the second time around really tarred this venue for us. Two days after first dining there, we tried to pop in for a glass of wine at 6pm. Oficio's Google Maps listing, and even the sign on their own front door lists them as open Tuesday to Saturday from 12.30pm, but the staff member said that they were closed. I told her that we just wanted a glass of wine, and they were listed as open - we had just traipsed across town and over one of Lisbon's uphill slopes to get there. Despite the restaurant having several staff chatting indoors, and some smoking outside - she said that they were closed. She was quite dismissive, and given the restaurant was listed as open and was going to open in an hour, they could've just poured us a glass of wine. Sea vegetable tacos (raw marlin in sauce in lettuce leaf), garlic prawns (15 raw prawns wt drop of concentrated prawn essence wt picante creamy sauce & the deep-fried garlic crunch bits sealed the deal), veal & marrow tartare (veal mini cubes in egg yolk & grainy mustard plus 4 pieces of marrow), Algarve crab (crab meat mixed wt brown crab wt a touch of curry served in a spider crab shell & 4 pieces of toasted rosemary brioche) & skate in hollandaise (skate in a caramel butter tasting sauce more than hollandaise). Overall, loved every minute of it. My absolute favourites are the garlic prawns & skate. My least favourite (oh the luxury of rating fantastic dishes 😜) lettuce tacos & veal tartare. One of the best meals we had in a long time. We loved the format, reasonably small portions at a very reasonable prices. Allowing you to eat plenty and try many different dishes. A stellar restaurant and a truly gastronomic experience. We put ourselves in the hands of our server and he brought us a number of items. Each of the dishes was better than the first, but two stood out in particular. The mushrooms were unassuming but probably one of the best dishes I’ve had in Lisbon. I would come back for several plates of mushrooms alone. And the prawns were fantastic. The wines were spectacular and the signature Tarte de Queijo dessert was understated in its elegance. Really, this is an awesome restaurant. Firstly, it is in an amazing space, which was a former convent per the sign on the front wall. Inside there are vaulted ceilings and incredibly stylish refurbishment. Secondly, the food is ridiculously good. Favourites were the smoked avocado on iceberg lettuce and the tomato with leek. The wine list is also a winner here. We chose Soalheiro vinho verde and were not disappointed. Finally the staff could not be any better. This restaurant comes recommended. I had such a happy dining experience here! Lisbon hospitality at its finest. I came with my nephew I was watching and the staff offered to help lift the stroller into the restaurant, down the steps, and open the bathroom door for me. I sat outside and they offered to turn on the heater and a blanket. Further, the server was attentive and the food absolutely thoughtful! We booked weeks in advance yet were told all the seats with normal tables were already taken by those who reserved before us. Instead we were sat at a bar counter-like shared table with stools that were all wobbly and uncomfortable. We ordered a bottle of wine and our waitress forgot to bring it out until we finally were able to remind her half way through our meal. An excellent restaurant to have a semi fine dining experience with innovative food. The food here is divine with the chef's creations of immaculately presented food that burst with flavour. It may not be full on gastronomy but flavours are well thought out and dishes feel modern and creative. Note that on some days not all dishes are available, such as the crab dish when I went, but of the dishes I was recommended to try instead, the sea vegetable taco sounded simple yet the explosion of flavour of the sea and accompanying sauce really set the scene for the delicious meal to remember. It can get quite busy here. Going at lunch, they were pretty much booked out, but many patrons will not spend a lot of time here so you may get lucky with a table or else sit at the large communal table at the front. Exceptional meal at Oficio! We walked passed and noticed the beautiful fit out of the place and made a reservation for the following night. Wow. Wowowow.. Started with the local oysters which were so good even our 6yo couldn't resist (she never had oysters before!). Loved every single dish we ordered: mussels, ribs, gizzards, the buttery skate (!), the tomato salad was divine, even down to the bread! It’s 3 stars for me, but to be fair - I think my experience was worse because I came by myself, and the food I had was so intense that it should be shared. I thorougly enjoyed the plates meant for 1 - oysters & cheesecake. But while the mushrooms with chicken caramel & rice with smoked meats were by all means well prepared and innovative, the flavors were extremely intense and the food was objectively way too salty even for me (a person that uses too much salt in general). It would be good as a small bite with some veggies on the side, and I appreciated that I could taste the various sausages. But I’m sorry to say that this was not the food you want to keep eating - two spoons are more than enough, then it gets unpleasant. Incredible restaurant in Lisbon. Our server was knowledgeable and charming, and the food was some of the best we’ve had on our trip so far. For two, we ordered oysters, tuna tacos, lamb tartare, tomato salad, and skate wing. All dishes were beautiful, innovative, and bursting with flavor. The restaurant itself is comfortable and well-decorated. I know Lisbon evenings are gorgeous, but I would also recommend dining inside to appreciate the ambiance. My one critique is that I wish our dishes were ordered better. The oysters were served after the lamb tartare, so the delicate ocean flavors of the oysters were mostly drowned out by the remnants of the rich and gamey flavors from the lamb. This is a pretty restaurant in terms of decor. I went with quite high expectations due to the reviews and recommendations I received. What worked well: The wine - both glasses we had were local and Portuguese Bread basket - duoer delicious and a great texture (we were served another helping for free which was super nice to receive!) The ribs (tasty, soft and well cooked) The mushrooms (very tasty with lovely flavours) Cheese tart (which is essentially a basque cheesecake but still lovely) What did not work well: Service, although polite, felt rushed The pork scratching (too big and quite intimidating but also not flavourful or particularly crispy as a pork scratching should be. The texture was off-putting and is like that of a rice cake) The rice dish (way too salty with no balance at all. I’d have given it 5* if it wasn’t for the price-quantity ratio. The concept is similar to a tapas restaurant; there are different cold/hot dishes which you order to share (our waitress let us know which ones were too small to share). Everything we had was delicious, specially the tacos and the brioche bun; however we were disappointed on the size of the tacos since they cost almost 8€ each. Had a lunch here recently. The restaurant was quiet but that didn't distract from the experience. We ordered a selection of dishes from the hot and cold selection to share and also the steak. All the food was excellent, if anything I would miss the steak next time as whilst good it cost a much as all the rest of the food and there were other dishes we could have tried. What a great place for steak. The service and attentiveness from our waiter Mica was impeccable. The pork crackling starter tasted amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We came here for lunch and it was amazing! We were greeted by a very friendly Mica, which made us feel very comfortable and well looked after, we were here quite early, we were seated and Mica explained the menu to us in English so my non Portuguese speaking fiance could understand. We ordered the steak and the pork chop, as well as the mixed salad and chorizo and red wine rice. They were all amazing. We wanted some cocktails, but couldn't order from the cocktails menu as the mixologist starts later in the day, but Mica stepped in again and made us some amazing cocktails! We had a great dinning experience and could fault it. We recommend this to everyone if you come to Lisbon. If you're a meat lover, this is the place to go. I even suggest you arrive a little before your reservation so you can enjoy the custom cocktails they offer (can't remember the name, but with chocolate and whiskey. Amazing). The entrees are unbelievable (must try the croquettes), and we loved them so much, we just ordered more and more! I'll have to go back to actually rate a main course! This really is the best steak restaurant in town. People are queing up to be seated. We had the T-bone steak. Tender, juicy meat accompanied by fluffy buttery mashed potato and grilled vegetables. I really like this restaurant! The staff, the food, the beer, it was all very good! I really liked to way they present their menu, it's a unique way to tell the story of this restaurant. Amazing! Staff were so good. We trusted the recommendations and had quails egg and pork cheek starters (not what we would normally order). It was so incredibly tasty and presented really well. The main short steak was incredible, so much food for two people and loads of flavour. The desert, ‘biscuit fell in the coffee’ was a new take on tiramisu and was absolutely delicious. Can’t speak highly enough of this place, was the best food we had in Lisbon by miles (even better than the Michelin star places from the time out market). When the bill came I could not believe it was only €75 for 3 course meal and a bottle of wine for 2 people! In London for that quality you would be paying close to £200!
