They were having some issues with the frier, which was going to cause us some delay, and the first thing they told us was that, so we could take our decision with all the info.   This is a beautiful little restaurant. The staff / service is attentive & friendly (they even asked about the volume of the music!!), the atmosphere romantic and cozy. The "Calf Cheeks" were so tender they fell apart as we dished them on to the plate! The "Sweet Potatoes w/ coriander" were delicious! My steak was cooked exactly as I requested (wonderfully rare). I would recommend the Ninfa wine, a full bodied, dry red. We arrived early, 6pm and it was not crowded, dining later I recommend a reservation.   My husband and I fell in love with this place! We were out and about walking when we stumbled upon it. It was so cozy and charming we just had to stop in and I’m so glad we did. The ambiance is warm and inviting and our food was delicious. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic. She was so friendly and attentive and helped make excellent wine and after dinner drink recommendations. We ordered the Entrecôte Carnalentejana DOP and it was so good. Highly recommend this place!   Came to this lovely restaurant after getting deafened at the Time Out place. So much classier with lovely reggae music, a fantastic staff and historic setting in an old cellar. A hidden gem. Food was excellent, house wine very good and overall value for money far better than the overpriced Time Out. We will return.   We had a terrible experience here. Turned up at around 9pm, restaurant was busy but not heaving. We waited for half an hour outside before staff finally came and greeted us. We were then seated down and for another 45 minutes the staff just walked past us - no menus, no service, nothing. On a positive side - our server from Ukraine (I don’t remember her name) was absolutely amazing and professional. If not her, our dinner would be much worse. Don’t come here for food - have drinks, socialize with friends in those amazing interiors (or outside) and don’t expect anything. Staff was friendly and efficient and more importantly food was delicious and reasonably priced.   We had a strange experience here. Initially we were very grateful that we were able to be seated together (a larger group of 5). We ordered drinks, desserts, and smaller plates. Later, the manager told us that only diners ordering a full dinner service were welcome to be seated. Without being given the opportunity to order more food, we were asked to leave to make space for other guests. The ambience was very lovely, and had we been given the chance to stay we would've liked to. The treatment we received was very uncomfortable. We were confused as to why our waiter did not let us know this policy or why we were not asked if we were willing to order more. We came with the intention of ordering more food and drinks as the night went on. We had made reservations in advance, and had already put in our order when we were asked to leave. This was a Wednesday night at around 8pm. As far as we could tell, hardly anyone was waiting in line outside.   Go here !!!!! the food was amazing definitely do the shrimp tacos and definitely do the cheesecake for dessert. the place is so hidden away and beautiful its like having dinner in a hidden carven. it’s close to pink street, also it isn’t very big so take that into consideration for larger groups. I had the fish of the day for dinner and my friend had the lamb chops the fish was ok but everything else made up for it.   Amazing sirloin steak! I got medium rare and they grilled it just right. The portion of the meat is fantastic and it comes with salt and a side of your choosing.   I wouldn’t recommend this place for food, specially not the chewy cheap sirloin steak and cold side dishes (leftovers from yesterday). They didn’t serve us a rare cut of sirloin steak, it’s hard to describe what they offered us instead… that’s a serious tourist trap. It’s good for a glass of wine outside on the terrace with some nibbles. That’s all. I would give a 5star for the staff who took good care of us and a 0star for the food.   Not great at all Let’s get straight to the good and bad: Good: -garlic prawns, tasted great however not many of them and doesn’t come with bread -white wine was nice -waitress was nice and spoke good English Bad: -as the prawns didn’t come with bread we bought some, it was called bread with olive oil however didn’t even come with the oil with it. Cost €2.50 and was literally 3 small bits. Pretty stale. -they had run out of entrecote so we bought 2 sirloins. The piece of meat that arrived was not a sirloin at all, and had a line of strong grizzle running through the middle. One came with three slices in it to see if it was cooked enough. I ordered medium rare and one side was completely brown and the other side almost raw (it would be difficult to do that if you were trying) To be clear, what came was not a sirloin so I’m not sure if they are deliberately giving a cheaper cut or they genuinely don’t know what sirloin is. But I honestly can not recommend this restaurant and I am a foodie which loves to try restaurants all over world, but this nightmare ruined my vacation mood and the evening! For the main course after we asked several times,finally when we had it, it was really bad prepared and tasted like canteen food.   Really cozy place. The outside but also the inside, specially when it gets a bit crowded and dark at night the atmosohere is amazing. The stuff is very very nice!! We came there late at night and when we sat down there was already some bread and olives on the table with some cheese and we thought it was complimentary since it was already on the table. At the end we noticed they charged us about 9 euros for it!!! We told the waitress and it seemed like she is used to this happening and immediately said its written on the menu. I don't think that i need to check the menu for some small letters if the food that i am about to it that is already on the table will cost me that much, quit shameful..   Was delightfully surprised with our visit here. The service staff were very friendly, although seemed a bit run off their feet and at times hard to get the attention of and therefore sometimes a bit slow, as was the time it took to get the meal. That's the only thing that stopped it getting 5 stars.   This restaurant has a great atmosphere and ambiance! The staff were very helpful and willing to help you to make a choice. I would recommend to reserve a table. The steak was very good! I didn't had to season it myself, so the extra salt wasn't used. However, the Creme Brulee was very disappointing. The crust was too thick and it was prepared in advance, because they heated in the oven, but some parts were still cold. This also had an effect at the quality of the crème, the structure and taste wasn't good. On the plus side, the wine and coffee were excellent!   Amazing food, especially the meats. Not a fish restaurant so get ready to enjoy some beef. Excellent service and decor.   Nice place for meat lovers ! Their burgers in particular are delicious. Prices are pretty affordable in regards to the quality of the food (count approx. 17-18€ for the main dish + drink + dessert). The waiter is very friendly too.   Went there with my wife and kid for my birthday dinner and we loved it! It was the first time I was there and the atmosphere is awesome! It's a mix of old building with rustic decor which makes you feel like you're at somebody's place! The staff was very nice! The food..... Well that made me feel like home!
