  Went on a whim while on vacation because we were craving Indian food. It was some of the best I’ve ever had. So flavorful and perfectly spicy. Our server was new and he was so sweet. If he wasn’t sure how to answer a question he would go to the back to find out. It’s not fancy, and a little rough around the edges, but charming. Thank you for a wonderful meal.   I just came home from dinner here. I'd read all these good reviews, but never know whether I can trust those. But Tamarind is around the corner and we wanted something warm and comforting. Short version: the service was friendly and warm. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed. It all just absolutely hit the spot, and at a price point that could easily have been 50% higher without being exaggerated. Highly recommend. We had baigan ka bartha, bhindi masala, and Goan prawn curry. All of them great, my favorite being the okra. You could taste the freshness of the spices. Homemade achar (pickle) was delicious too, as were the mango lassis. We also had garlic naan and peshwara naan, these were the only dishes where I'd say they were just fine (a bit on the drier side). All of that, plus rice, a beer, and a large bottle of water, cost fifty euros. Honestly I would go again tomorrow if I didn't want to try more places.   The restaurant we were supposed to go was closed and we came across Tamarind. What a meal. The food was absolutely delicious. Portion size was big enough and when we were over ordering the lovely lady there suggested we stick to what we have and if we want more we order more. She was spot on. Lamb, chicken, paneer curries and prawn biriyani was fantastic. Price was extremely reasonable. Would 100% recommend it.   We have been here 3 times already in a week! Need I say more?! Hands down the best North Indian food I’ve ever had anywhere around the globe! The kids and husband feel the same - this coming from a family that eats Pakistani food weekly (about the same as North Indian.) I will for sure come back here whenever I’m back in Lisbon! We’ve tried the chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, karhai chicken, palak gosht (lamb), palak paneer, chicken daal, lamb curry, aloo gobi, rogan Josh and others - all of them just perfect! What I liked was the freshness, taste and quality. Other than this being oilier than food we usually eat at home - it’s like a very well cooked homemade meal. The naan and tandoori roti texture is a little off but the main dishes are nothing short of perfect! Ended our meal twice with pistachio kulfi for dessert which is also really yummy.   We have been to the place a week ago and it was I would say best among the bests in Lisbon. 2 minutes walking distance from Metro station Restauradores. Menu is affordable the food is surprisingly so delicious. Neat and clean place that offers a nice environment to dine and relax. I’d give more stars to host for her way of hospitality, she seems a wonderful soft spoken, who is able to speak Portuguese, English and Indian language. She was very helpful to offer us a take away Indian Tea ingredients which helped us to prepare tea in breakfast before leaving Lisbon. Every sip was her great favor to us! Thank you lady for that kindness. We will definitely visit you again and would highly recommend this place to all who read this review. She gave a visiting card that has QR code linked with TripAdvisor review, I tried many times but it doesn’t work. As well as I’d suggest them to provide a WhatsApp/Telegram Number so people could connect with them from overseas. I felt bad that I was unable to connect through the given link.   Wow !!! This place is a hidden gem. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the amazing smell of spices and the smiling staff. The food was extremely delicious and the perfect amount of spice(I have had a hard time at other restruants that serve food with any amount of heat). I will definitely be coming back here and showing this place to my friends. Also for the amount of food you get when eating here the prices are really good.   First visit based on a reccomendation. Food was disappointing and not to our usual taste and expectations. Starters chaat and paneer pakode were ok...chaat mint sauce ruined the flavours and was overpowering. The paneer pakode had no taste except the gram flour coating them! Mains was karahi chicken with garlic naans and jeera rice. Chicken was ok too tomato based for our liking and the jeera rice was so overpowered by jeera we complained and asked for it to be replaced with plain rice... I'm a huge fan of Indian food and even went to India for a month so I can vouch for its authentic taste.   Absolute, hidden gem! My favourite cuisine is Indian food and I’ve both enjoyed and prepared many a different curry. It’s rare to find a place that respects the traditional blends of spices whilst also elevating it’s dishes with subtle and unique touches. The pickle tray had a wonderful addition of what l can only describe as chilli, cucumber. A perfect blend of slightly cool and slightly hot. For my main, l had the classic lamb madras. Though l can take a little more heat than was on offer, the lamb melted in my mouth and with every mouth full, l was shown different complexities of the rich curry sauce. Accompanying this was jeerma rice which was a blend of cumin and crispy onion and totally delicious. The star of the show for me, was the Peshawar nann. I don’t think I’ve tasted one quite as good. The top of the nann was crispy, with the main body fluffy and soft. The coconut flavour inside was well balanced with roasted almonds and a drizzle of honey on top. All in all, a fantastic treat.   We had the chana masala and chicken tikka for takeaway and it wasn't what we were hoping for compared to the Indian food we normally enjoy. The chana was a bit oily and the tikka was much sweeter than I'm used to.   When we travel, we try to sample as much of the local food, groceries and produce of the country as we can. But we do love our Indian food so we have that once a week. . Today happened to be that day and we were walking down the R. das Portas de Santo Antão street that has a lot of restaurants. We saw a few menus and then decided to go for Indian food. We Googled and found this restaurant that was close to us and had pretty good ratings and reviews. It was also a 98% match for us so we decided to give it a go. . The restaurant is surprisingly small for the number of reviews, but the number of reviews could be due to its location. The designer stores as well as a mall are in close proximity to the restaurant. . We got the Samosas to start with followed by the Goan Prawn Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Chili Paneer, Daal Makhani, Gobi Aloo, Bhindi Masala, Garlic Naan as well as Plain Naan. We asked for the spice level to be medium. . Most of the food was very flavorful and very close to the traditional Indian taste. Daal Makhani was by far the best. The Goan Prawn Curry was not what we expected and was too coconuty. The Bhindi masala was not that great either and too spicy. The rest was fantastic. In fact, we ordered a second round of the Saag Paneer. The portion sizes are good and a single entree could be shared by 2 adults. . We would definitely go back.   I went to this restaurant with my husband to celebrate our 11th anniversary. It was a Thursday night at 7pm and I was pleased by the fact that this tinny restaurant was not full. The starter was a thin special type of bread (papad) with 4 types of sauces, after this, we moved to a meat samosa. The samosa was delicious, nor too spicy or over seasoned. It was simply good. Then, we moved to the main dishes. We ordered Butter Chicken for me and Chicken Korma for my husband. The portions weren't big. On our case, just 6~7 cubes of chicken for each of us; which is a kind of a disappointment because, in the end, you will be craving for more. Do not forget to order rice as a side dish to complement your meal. Both dishes, the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Korma, were very good. With the right amount of spice and very well executed. The staff is very nice, they are always ready to take your orders and to explain each dish for you to have a great experience. The restaurant has a balanced decoration and it feels cozy.   We were there tonight on February 7, 2018. My wife and I are originally from New Delhi, India. We were born and brought up there. In the restaurant we made it a special point to mention to the waitress that in order to ensure that we get authentic Indian food. We ordered Channa Masala, Alo Ghobi, Raita and Roti. Almost everything was a disaster. The portions are extremely small. I don't think they are enough for one adult. The Channa's were from a can, they were uncooked. The Roti's were burnt. I can go on and on but I think I have made my point. When we travel we normally like to patronize Indian restaurants.   Found a bug in my food wasn't even offered a refund. Before the bug, food was poor as it is. The review is by no means fake. Reviews left by me and my wife. As an owner at least take responsibility for your actions! I was at your restaurant at 6.30 on 27/11/17. I suggest you check your records and if need be check with your staff or cctv. I akso paid the full bill of 29 eurso with no refund or apology offered. Disgrace! Another suggestion, change your staff! When someone complains about a bug in their food apologies rather than just clean the plate! If you don't know how to run a restaurant and offer a service, Don't bother and close your restaurant. We ate chicken tikka, and biryani as well as the "Garlic naan " and would recommend them all. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
