  Had an incredible meal here at Tasca Zebra! The hospitality of the staff and quality of the food is unmatched. All the staff takes time to understand their customers and their preferences and provide adequate recommendations based on their preferences. They are so kind and this is the place to try in Lisbon I have not had a better meal. We were recommended the Pau Píca, then the octopus then the cod fish! Highly recommend. The staff was super nice and friendly and suggested to take a drink at an associated bar while the table was made ready. Atmosphere & music are immaculate. Super cozy, felt like home. Never felt like that in a restaurant. Wine selection and recommendations were really really good. The food was insane, quite frankly. Starters were good, but the mains (supposed to be shared) we’re probably the best I ever had, in 2 weeks of Lisbon in total. Take the seafood assortment!   Disapointing place. A tourist trap. Very slow service (it took an hour to be served), portions are REALLY small compared to all portuguese restaurants in lisbon. So pretty bad price vs quality ratio. Pitty though, this little tasca is charming and the food is good ( when arriving finally) Don't order the octopus, it is not worth their price.   We went for lunch here and while the service is nice and little appetizers (bread, olives) are also included, the value for money of the main dishes is very low. The sizes of the main dishes can be mistaken for starters but most are priced between 15-20 EUR each so we left feeling ripped off and still hungry. The food itself was good, there was just not enough of it.   Best meal I’ve had in Portugal. Fresh and tasty seafood complimented by classic Portuguese flavors. I highly recommend the Pica Pau which was incredibly flavorful and had nice variety of textures from different types of seafood. The staff was friendly, accommodating, funny and went above and beyond to get us a table in a full restaurant even when we came with no reservation.   Our first night in Lisbon and my wife and we were trying to stay awake to fight jet lag. This little Tasca was near our hotel and we walked by noticing the tiles and the atmosphere.   My gluten free friends do not miss this gem. Their menu is full of absolutely delicious gluten free items (not labeled as such because it is not a totally gluten free kitchen).   Marcio and Jenni have recently redone the restaurant and it could not be better. The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. There is such a high attention to detail in every aspect of the food and the atmosphere. You will feel like family from the monument you enter the restaurant till long after you leave, which wont be long because you will be back. Everything we ate was spectacular. The clams and the sea bream were both awesome, but the Tuna Sandwich steals the show. I do not think there is a single item on the menu that will disappoint.   I don’t understand how they could possibly have a 4.6. This was the worst food I’ve ever had in a restaurant, or probably anywhere for that matter. For starter, we got the shrimp, which was fine. The sauce was good but the shrimp was a bit over cooked. Then we got the cod, which was completely inedible. I think it had gone bad, because it was so tough. We had to spit it out, since it was too tough to chew. Then we also had the octopus rice, which was ridiculously salty. Even my husband, who loves salty food, could not eat it. We had to send both of these dishes back. I’ll give the owner props in that he apologized profusely, and offered to get us something else, but these dishes were so bad we weren’t going to risk it. The chances that the new dishes would be decent seemed pretty slim, since there were 2 dishes that were so bad, not just one. He gave us free shots of ginja instead. But I just don’t understand how the food could be as bad as it was, especially since these two dishes are supposedly their specialties.   I gave 3 stars because the quality of the fish was good, however the rest was quite disappointing. - The owner was quite unfriendly - The fish quality was good but it was very oily, particularly the salmon. While all the vegetables served were just boiled and not very flavourful. - I got the grilled sardines, which were supposed to be 4, unfortunately they only had 3. To make up for this they made me a very small discount, quite unfair considering the amount of food missing. - If you don’t have a Portuguese card you need to pay cash. I don’t like to leave bad reviews but this place definitely doesn’t deserve 4.6 stars, which is why I decided to go. Cheers!   This is a small ( 4 tables)very chic in the portuguese sense that serve excellent food. We had grill octopus and octopus rice and they taste great and octopus was cook just right. From the outside this restaurant looks like one of the regular small cheap eat but you have to come in to have have a great cozy lunch or dinner. Service was excellent.   What a hidden gem we found in this restaurant. We were just randomly walking by the street hungry when we saw the fresh fish in the window. The waitress was very kind to present and convince us to stay. The food was so good that I even forgot to take a picture of my plate for you. Sorry for that. You can still see the desert which was also delicious. A great advantage this restaurant has is the fact it stays open all day long and not closing at 3pm like others.   The worst place I've ever been! This is not an example of Portuguese restaurant. I'm Portuguese and I went to the restaurant for dinner with a foreign friend. It was 7pm and after a long time waiting the options we had chosen were already sold out (in Portugal 7pm is not even close to dinner time but as it is a tourist place, that's okay) we asked for a bitoque. ... Simple meat with egg rice and salad, there can be no mistake right? Unfortunately no ... the meat was so old it looked like rubber simply unpalatable, when we complained the waitress said we did not know what a bitoque was ... what? I was born and lived in Portugal all my life and she wanted to explain to me what a bitoque was? The owner and the waitress did nothing to alleviate the situation, the sauce was pure salt and the meat simply could not swallow ...unfortenetely we had the night ruined by the lack of professionalism and decency .. In the payment we complained again and the waitress and the owner simply offended us saying we were not respecting them! I will never go back ... Carne simples com arroz de ovo e salada, não tem como errar né? Infelizmente não... a carne estava tão velha que parecia borracha simplesmente intragável, quando reclamamos a garçonete disse que não sabíamos o que era um bitoque... o que? Nasci e morei em Portugal toda a minha vida e ela queria me explicar o que era um bitoque? O dono e a garçonete nada fizeram para amenizar a situação, o molho era puro sal e a carne simplesmente não dava para engolir...infelizmente tivemos a noite arruinada pela falta de profissionalismo e decência.. No pagamento reclamamos novamente e o garçonete e o proprietário simplesmente nos ofenderam dizendo que não os estávamos respeitando! Eu nunca vou voltar... Você tem opções muito melhores bem na frente desse lugar.

  This restaurant is along the tram 28 route in quite a touristy area but it still maintains its amazing hospitality, low prices and yummy food. It’s very typical Portuguese and the waitress is very friendly and always has a lovely smile. I do not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.   Never ever again ! Eating here was the worst nightmare we ever had - chicken was raw, the vegetarian crepés tasted like poo and even the fries where horrible and drowned in bad oil. The cherry on top: in the end we where forced to pay handy, otherwise the (very unfriendly) owner wasn't able to change our money at all.   Do not eat here - they are scammers! They will bring you a basket containing 2 dry bread rolls +1 teaspoon of liver pate+1 teaspoon of butter and 1 very small piece of cheese and charge you 6.20 euros whether you want it or not! The food is not tasty and expensive. We ordered grilled flounders but received another kind of fish. We are actually not sure of the type of fish we ate (we just know it was not flounders). We were unable to communicate with the owner/server because he did not speak any English! Will not visit this establishment again and do not recommend it to anyone.   WOW!!!! We ate here last weekend and it was superb, really great food and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were great, the place had a great vibe, we had the sardinhas assadas and Bitoque. And just to top it off the baked chocolate mousse and pudim flan was every bit as good as the starter and the main, I will be returning lots!!! Family own restaurant near Bairro Alto. Prices round 7 euros, Portuguese home made kitchen. A gastronomic destination in Lisbon. Less is More. Thanks (Traduzido pelo Google) UAU!!!! Nós comemos aqui no fim de semana passado e foi excelente, comida realmente excelente e uma atmosfera encantadora. A equipe foi ótima, o lugar tinha uma vibração ótima, tivemos as sardinhas assadas e o Bitoque. E ainda por cima a mousse de chocolate assada e o pudim pudim ficaram tão bons quanto a entrada e o prato principal, voltarei muito! Restaurante familiar perto do Bairro Alto.
