  We at at their other branch in the city on our first day, and here on our second, our best meal so far. If you’re a tourist and want to experience traditional Portuguese, come have the steak, experience the seafood at prices you could only dream of in the UK. This one is fancier in appearance and service style, the other feels very traditional. Take it for what it is, and you’ll love it. It’s “brasserie” style food served in a traditional manor for Portugal. This one you can watch the sunset before you enter too!! Our tiny mark down on atmosphere, we were sat en the enclosed conservatory and people freely smoke, being from the UK we are used to the being a thing of the past, it’s not nice, BUT, your in Portugal, you can’t judge by anyone else’s standards!   Very bad! Small portions, long waiting, the tables that arrived after us were served before (same food), we order French fries , and comparing to the next table ot looks like we had the leftovers. Long wait for the menu. Long wait after eating to clean the table and bring the menu again for pudding. I ve been here 2 years ago and was amazing. Now, November 2023 it is awful.   It was fairly late when my husband and I arrived from Barcelona. We headed to our hotel and asked what was close by (and still open) to get something to eat. The staff recommended Portugalia in Belem. This was perfect place - about a 6 minute Uber ride from our hotel; food was good; service was great. From what I could see, it has a nice view - it was dark so hard to tell. I'm sure in the day it is pretty since it's by the water. Definitely recommend.   So it's a tourist trap. We had the marisco, which is shrimp and crab meat mixed with the body and the head meat. It wasn't amazing. It was ok. We also had the frango, salad and fries. I expected half a chicken or leg and thigh combo...got a flat piece of chicken breast. It's not that it's bad, it's just that it's not great and they could do better.   We got the sea platter with the shrimps. The food was blunt. The shrimps had no taste and the crub fillings were just bad. They serve them with a lot of mayo on the side. We also ordered two more dishes which we never got because the service was a bit slow and we had to catch a boat tour We got charged the full amount which I guess is fair since we did order them. In any case I would definitely not recommend this place. It gives off a super touristy vibe. You can definitely find a much better place to have dinner/lunch if you spend 5 to 10 mins.   The food was delicious but in our opinion the oil was too much, the dish itself didn’t need that amount of it, it is exaggerated.   I have been traveling from top to bottom of Portugal and this is by far the worst restaurant ever I experienced. It took 10 mins just for the waitress to show up. She never brought back my drink, I had to go in to the bar and my drink was sitting there and the ice was melted. Then we waited for our appetizer and a different waiter brought it. She never came back to take our food order and when we ask the other waiter he keep saying one moment but never came. I went back inside and another person told me our waitress got sick so she went home and didn’t even bother to tell manager to take care of us. We didn’t order dinner as the experience was a disaster so we decided to go somewhere more enjoyable for real dinner. Also, the windows looking out was filthy. I am weary of plain vegetarian dishes, but the Vegetable “a Bras” (replacing cod with zucchini primarily along with other veggies), is to make a drive for, if you’re not already around. We got the chicken ‘steak’ which was boy, oh boy fantastic with their sauce. If one is wondering about sides, should strongly consider sauce as one of them, we didn’t know so we just got salads hah. We are definitely visiting more of these restaurants if we can. For this particular location, the views are just as fantastic with the Monument and the Tagus river.   "Gambas à là Guillo" is not the normal. Now it seems the sauce has tomato has nothing about the traditional "Gambas à la Guillo" For more than 30 years I have eaten in this PORTUGALIA the normal "bife" but Pork. Is incredible they don't serve Pork any more. We arrived about 15h and in our room, the employees made of it a kind of relax room for them... Because there is no more tradition, I gave it 2 stars.   Stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. They don’t have a lot for appetizers. We got bread with garlic butter, olives and I had the vegetable soup. I ordered the sangria and it was really good. But a lot. They don’t sell it by the glass. It’s a nice restaurant in a pretty setting. They have restrooms on site and it’s within walking distance to many of the big attractions.   Got the shrimp and clam rice as well as a steak. The rice was absolutely amazing, warm and comforting. The steak was pretty good but nothing mind blowing, it came with a lot of sides which was appreciated. We were also sat at a table with an amazing view of the monument and seaside. The service was also great and friendly, probably largely because we came in the off-season. Overall a little pricey but understandable given the location. The service was also slow and the food was basic. We also got beef croquettes to start which were dry and olives which lacked flavour. This place has the potential to be good. We have waited at the entrance for 10 minutes being completely ignored even though there were so many available tables. The food cannot be compared to what other restaurants in the city can offer.   Our experience was quietly disappointing. We ended up here because it was the closest restaurant that looked good. My boyfriend and I speak spanish but we preferred to speak english as we feel more confortable with. This detail has an importance because as soon as we seated the waiter came, speaking barely english, with 3 big fish (fresh but big). My boyfriend explained that he wanted to order Sardinas and that’s why we came here. The waiter replied « No we don’t have », we felt a bit disappointed but it’s normal for a fish restaurant to not have all the time every fish on the menu. But he didn’t let us the time to think, he was standing in front of us with the 3 fish waiting for us to say one. So feeling a bit force we accepted to choose one of those. It was tasty but we didn’t know how much we will have to pay since he didn’t say to us how much weight the fish was. So we choose to not take a dessert and just leave right after finishing. What a surprise on our way to leave to see on a table of portugese couple 2 dishes of sardinas (they came way after us). We truly think it’s because somehow they saw on us tourist people to scam. On the table we had olive oil, vinegar, bread and butter. But do not open or touch it, it’s not for free :) and obviously nobody take the time to say it before. Another advice, check your bill before paying because they wanted to charge us for bread and oil even if we didn’t touch it. I’m rating the experience and will not come back. Estava gostoso mas não sabíamos quanto teríamos que pagar já que ele não nos disse quanto pesava o peixe. Por isso optamos por não levar sobremesa e sair logo após terminar. Que surpresa na saída ver numa mesa de casal português 2 pratos de sardinha (eles vieram bem atrás de nós). Nós realmente pensamos que é porque de alguma forma eles viram em nós, turistas, uma fraude. Na mesa tínhamos azeite, vinagre, pão e manteiga. Mas não abra nem toque, não é de graça :) e obviamente ninguém se dá ao trabalho de dizer isso antes. Outro conselho, verifique sua conta antes de pagar porque eles queriam nos cobrar por pão e óleo mesmo que não tocássemos. Estou avaliando a experiência e não voltarei.

  It never disappoints. Yes it is a chain restaurant but one of the nicest and most successful ones in Portugal and has been around for many years. One of my favorite places either to eat seafood with a view or quick and tasty steak. Very professional service and good wines to choose.   This was one of the best meals we had in Portugal. We had the most amazing view of the water and statue. On top of all of that, our food was incredible. We shared a bottle of dry white wine (Casa Ferreirinha Planalto Reserva), the whelk salad (one of the most delicious plates of food I’ve ever had in my life), and the medium sized seafood platter. They were out of barnacles so they substituted oysters. These were very large and incredibly flavorful with the right brine and texture. The shrimp tasted so good with the squeeze of lemon and the crab dip. We bought a bread basket which had High quality bread and crostini. These accompanied our meal perfectly. Our server was Angela. At first glance the place looks great, but as soon as I sit the waiter simple dropped some food in the table and when I tried to stop to ask what were the dishes he simply said that whatever I do not want he would take. Well I did not even know what was to say if I want or not. When I managed to call the waiter to understand what were the dishes I decided to eat the bread, but when I get one it was already eaten. I conplained about it and asked to take away the rest of the bread. For main dish I ordered the Bacalhau as this was supposed to be one of their specialty. The fries were terrible, I can swear that they were made in the previous day, and the file of bacalhau had fishbone, how can a file have fishbone? I do not recommend this place to anyone.   Great place to have lunch in Belem although can get quite busy on a weekend. We reserved a table via TheFork app/website but as it's quite a big place, walk ins prob won't be a problem. We chose the seafood of the day (tiger prawns) which came with salad at a very reasonable price. Delicious!   All in all, was good, but to be honest, when you charge around 15 euros for a meal, you kinda expect it to be tasty. As I was told, the restaurant serves traditional portuguese food, but I was not astonished by the food offer. We tried the Pica Pau beef strips in Portugalia sauce, which comes with 2 sides, the shrimps with a sauce served in a loaf of bread, we liked the presentation, the tase was absent (you do not get salt/pepper/oil on table). Also we tried the Bacala, nothing special and the fish was quite absent. My 4 star rating is due to the fact that it is a very, very popular restaurant near tourist attractions in Belem and you expect to get some service and some great food for ~80 euros for 3 persons with only 1 meal served each.   Our recent visit was really nice! Firstly, the booking process over email went very well with excellent customer support. Once at the restaurant, the waiter was lovely and even spoke French with my foreign friends. I recommend the codfish dish "bacalhau à braz" - it was delicious!   We waited 40min to have a table, obviously local people were found a table even when they arrived after us. After we complained about this we finally had a table. 1h30 to get served our plates. This is just not acceptable. Be careful the « salada the polvo » is very expensive, they put in on your table by default without telling the price. Also we were charged for lot more bread than we eat. I have to admit the food was correct, a bit too fat but correct, however definitely not worth the 2 hours wait. Then be very careful when paying by card, they set it so you first type the TIPS, then your card code, careful not typing your code instead of the TIPS (the waiter explained this very fast to make sure we don’t understand)!!!   After we were seated and while looking at the menu, the staff brought out a basket with bread, some butter and 2 croquettes. They then asked if we wanted the croquettes. We agreed to try one. We shared a coquette and ate the bread while we waited for our food. I ordered a steak sandwich. It was okay. When we got the bill after our meal, they were charging us for the one croquette (fair enough) and not only for the bread but also for the butter! I've been to a lot of restaurants in different countries and I've never been charged for bread and butter that was placed on the table before a meal. When we questioned the waitress about this, we were told this was common in Portugal. Stange... The food was okay, not great. Nice location.   Very good quality price lunch. We did' have any expectation and we have been greatly surprised. We had "shrimp soup" and revisited traditional "stue with shrimp", really good. And the environment was really cool, great terace right next to the "Padrao dos Descobrimentos" " statue" and overlooking the Tage River :-) The waitress also was really kind and made us tasting for free a little see food that we didn't know. Really kind of her, Don't hesitate, go there for, what I think, more closely related Portuguese food. (Traduzido pelo Google) Almoço com preço de muito boa qualidade. Não tínhamos nenhuma expectativa e ficamos muito surpresos. Comemos "sopa de camarão" e revisitámos o tradicional "estuque com camarão", muito bom. E o ambiente era muito legal, ótimo terraço ao lado da "estátua" do "Padrão dos Descobrimentos" e com vista para o Rio Tage :-) A garçonete também foi muito gentil e nos fez provar de graça um pouco de comida que não conhecíamos.
