  Lovely staff who were super helpful with selecting vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options and they were knowledgeable about cross contamination. We had the tuna ceviche, falafel, green rice and delicious cocktails. We didn't book but walked in at 7pm, place was full with people waiting by the time we left. Great music and great vibes too.   Really good tapas bar. We had the Mandioca, Peixinho, Ceviche de Lírio and Fried Feta and they were all very tasty and came in quickly. They also have plenty of vegan options. The waiter recommended me a good red wine and was friendly. They also host parties there but there was none on the day of the visit although the music was great.   I really wanted to like this place as it comes recommended by a chef friend. Food: We had Spicy Beef, Borrego Salsifis, Lula with Manteiga, Cilantro Rice, Falafel/Hummus, Beringela, batata doce, squid, and brownie + tarte desserts. The food was stunningly "meh." Dishes were not bad but they weren't very good either with strong flavors with no balance. Pretty much all the meat/seafood dishes we ate was overcooked and some of them came to us lukewarm. The desserts were unique but not very good. In summary, "innovative" food that was not good which I think likely lined up with the hipster vibe. Team: The team here was nice enough but definitely serving far too many tables with too few people. I had to clear our table a few times as we had too many plates on our table and some dishes just sat there for 15 minutes before someone came over. Vibe: As mentioned, definitely a hipster spot. That doesn't mean much beyond ambiance was funky and overall cool. Liked menu on the wall as cool thought that a few places I know do well. Happy I tried this spot but nothing that I ate or saw would convince me to come back here again. I was there early as I had to catch a flight later in the day, but the staff were very welcoming and gave me some great recommendations.   Giving a 1-star review for the service. This was my third visit to the place, and it's been consistently disappointing. The first time, despite arriving early, the waitress seemed a bit stressed and didn't guide us on the waitlist. The second time, wanting just a glass of wine, we were told to wait for a dance space to open, which was confusing because the restaurant was opened. On the third visit, we made a reservation for a Christmas dinner with seven people. After a couple of hours, we were asked to lower our voices, which happened three times. Despite the festive atmosphere of sharing gifts and enjoying food and drinks, the manager, Tiago, put the bill on the table and stood there, creating an uncomfortable situation, the vibe was off! Damas doesn't exude a romantic and quiet vibe; it's youthful and energetic. However, the staff's behavior doesn't align with the intended atmosphere. Despite delicious food, the overall experience was very very much disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it for a good time with friends.   Food was amazing and so flavourful! Served quickly and the portion were generous. Staff was also accomodating and service was quick. Only downside is the menu is only in English and my neurodivergent brain got really overwhelmed in making a choice which took away from the experience of enjoying the good vibes of the place.   Food was excellent. Most of staff was helpful, except one person who accused my party of lying. We never received a dish and they said we did and they wouldn't refund us. They said they believed the chef would claimed to have made it and not us. Big red flag. Also, they were just flat out rude. Heard this was one of the best restaurants in Lisbon but it'd be ashamed if this get higher praise than so many of great Lisbon restaurants. Won't go again.   The service is terrible. Like next level horrible. Been calling the place +15 times + wrote an email requesting to book a table. Never heard a peep. We went there anyway and asked for a table and they put us on the list. We wanted to order some drinks for the waiting time but they did not allow us to because they said they were too busy, although they obviously just did not want to make the drinks for us. We bought some beers and just waited inside when they forced us to go out because they said we were in the way, although there were plenty of space. It was 12 degrees and raining outside, so wasn't really a fair option. They had a reserved table that hadn't showed up and was 50 minutes over their booking time, They could have given the table to us in my opinion as they would probably never show up anyways. The way they talked to us and treated us was, for me, an unseen level of rudeness, especially as customers on a restaurant. It is a real pity, because I went there before and got amazing food but also a very low service-level. With this experience I wouldn't recommend Damas. (Traduzido pelo Google) O serviço é terrível.   We came to Damas on a weekday night, without a booking and they were able to accommodate us. I really like how the menu is written on the wall, and also the selection of items. We ordered the arroz verde, porco, tuna crudo, and the tuna belly with peaches. All of the items were flavourful, and not too heavy. The standout item was definitely the tuna crudo - it was buttery and fresh fish that was paired with a really nice light sauce. Honestly the best crudo I have ever had. Overall, staff was really helpful and nice, especially in explaining the menu. Would definitely return to Damas if I was in Lisbon!   One of the coolest and tastiest places in Lisbon, maybe even all of Portugal. I have been to plenty restaurants here in Portugal and this place is everything you need. It has a cool young staff that are friendly not rude. The kitchen is open and they all look confident and happy to be there. The presentation of the food is stellar! And the taste is even better. The space is also a music venue sometimes so the vibe is like eating at a gig or before a gig. So don't forget after dinner on some nights there is always some kind of show.   The dishes here are very tasty. I've had the lagartos de porco which was delicious. The waiter that served us was quite rude and the seating we had did not have any sort of ventilation, so it was quite hot temperature-wise. Definitely worth trying if you don't mind the service. The food came super fast, but the waitresses/waiters were unkind, acting too cool or too busy to help seat us, got annoyed when we didn’t understand everything on the menu (only in written in marker on the wall in Portuguese) and when I told them I had had an allergic reaction to something in the food and needed to leave, they were unbothered and took their time getting me the bill.   Hate to leave bad feedback but we want to write the honest review that we wished we’d read in advance. - We thought the food tasted average considering the high price point for Lisbon (and also the reviews) - The aubergine salad tasted off / a bit funky therefore we couldn’t eat it.   Struggling to fathom some of the negative reviews of this place. After spending a short break in Lisbon, my girlfriend and I decided this was our favourite meal of the trip. As pescatarians we were spoilt for choice, so much so that we let our waitress select our food for us. She chose for us 4 dishes (3 fish-based and 1 vegetarian), each of which was unique and delicious. Along with the best dessert we've had in quite some time, plus a beer and a cocktail, our meal set us back 70€‎. In other words: a very reasonable price for a very enjoyable dinner. The service was efficient and fuss-free, but don't mistake this for neglect. Every member of the front of house team checked on us during the course of our meal, and each was as polite as the last. The chefs in the open kitchen visibly enjoyed their craft, and were great to watch behind the general hustle and bustle of the venue.   Boring. Food is good, I tried once and even if is expansive, at least it worths it. But the rest? The atmosphere seems of an posh-hipster Squat. Also, the service depends everytime to who is working at the moment. They can totally ignore you or sometimes even do their job (like, giving you a table). What a pity, i suggest you to immediatelly invest on teaching to your collaborators how to treat costumers. and if they give you a name at the door, don't mock on them for 45 minutes that you will give them a table in 15 minutes.   It is one of the highlights of my trip in Lisbon. Damas was a Great choice because the food options there were excellent , tasty, and appetizing. I enjoyed the prawns , falafel a lot , and had more than one plate. And the personnel were friendly and kind to help and explain their menu. Every dish was incredible and the vibe was perfect for our first night in Lisbon. We had tuna tartare, tuna steak with a molé like sauce, charred cabbage, falafel salad (one of the best falafels ive ever tried), tempura beans with an umami rich sauce, cilantro rice, a saucy beef with almond dish, roasted veg, a minerally white wine and a vinho verde.   So went to the place since it has great reviews and loads of them. Service is good to be fair, lady was nice and polite and helped us with the menu. Ordered some steaks. Extremely cold and raw inside, I mean we understand medium rare and what not but that was literally raw inside, beyond rare category. Drinks were ok too, Moscow mule stood out as a great one. I was just surprised by all the ratings here as I found the place below average. I guess the hipster look and feel of the place wins people over and all the LGBT friendliness,but that won't correct the poor quality of the food which I believe is the most important thing in any restaurant /food joint.   The food was really bad, out of 5 dishes one was good. The service terrible, they forgot our drinks, they never asked how it was going if the food was good or not.   I've been recommended this place by a bunch of friends since I moved to Lisbon and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The wait can be a bit long but you can drink outside and chat with people around and get progressively drunker by the time your table is ready. It's tapas style so you will need a couple of plates each but omg the food was so so good! We also ordered a new cocktail that the bartender had recently come up with - it was a hibiscus ice tea with mescal. It was reaaaally tasty and went well with everything we ate. Now I just gotta go back on a Friday and dance a bit to burn away the massive meal I ate! The staff are amazing and friendly despite the fact that they were overrun by waiting people.   After two days we finally got a booking. The place and atmosphere are great. It was difficult to get a hold of the waiters, even tho we came early. It took us probably around 1hr to finally get the food - the food was nice, but not worth waiting 1 hour for. At last we ordered dessert, which we never got after waiting an hour for. The waiter must’ve forgotten the order, but had charged us on the bill. There was also a situation where we got harassed by other men in the restaurant, which wasn’t nice - but the staff reacted to the situation in our favor.   My family and I loved this place! We showed up around 8 without a reservation and they had 1 table left in their back room which had a cool industrial vibe. What stood out was their excellent service and really delicious foods. The entire menu was in Portuguese only and even google translate couldn’t help us so we asked for their recommendations. Our server was amazing. She made 6-7 recommendations and we loved them all especially their emperor fish dish, ceviche, and yucca frites but it was really all very good. Before coming here we had lunch at Ramiro which everyone had raved about but for us, we preferred this restaurant to Ramiro 🤷‍♀️. For all the food, beers and 1 cocktail the tab was around 85 euros.   Very cool venue with hipster vibes. The place has a local flavour but in a nice not alarming way. The plates are interesting and different with lots of flavour. The vegan options are less attractive in my eyes but still worth a try. Not the kind of place I will go to for the most high end experience but more for an authentic feel of new Portuguese dining.   So according to Google this is either the worst or best place in Lisbon The reality is it's just okay. If I could I would say its 3.5 stars as with some changes it could be a great place The food will stuff you so no complaints there but there is definitely a variability with the quality when it's good it'd great but when its not good it's only okay. The cocktails are really well done for the price, my espresso martini was the best I've had. The service is acceptable. I do not understand why people at upset at service staff just putting the food down. It's clearly not a fine dining. That said some improvements at busier times could be made. We struggled to find the waiter to put our name on the list and we had to walk up to the counter to pay as they took so long to check on us. In addition they could do a better job at explaining it's tapas rather than relying on you figuring it out and potentially look into using digital menus rather than force you to walk over to a random wall in the restaurant where they've scribbled it out The atmosphere was great. I love the hipster Vibe. It could have been a cool restaurant in Shoreditch in London and the LGTB friendlyness sets it apart. It's also really cool they are pet friendly.   If you are after really poor (think begging to be served) and rude service (after ordering and paying for another bottle of wine we were told to leave before receiving said bottle) head to this place. I have honestly never encountered such arrogant service in my life. After complaining (and asking for the complaint book after the waiter refused to apologise), we were confronted by the entire wait staff who told us we would never dine there again. Like I would want to. Honestly, there is a certain arrogance about a restaurant who thinks the opinions of clientele don’t matter…. They think their reputation as a "trendy venue" is enough.   Even though the place doesn't look like much from the outside, this ended up being our absolute favourite restaurant in Lisbon!!!! The cuisine is classical Portuguese with a twist, so that you'll be surprised by the creative & unusual flavours 😋 The menu is changing according to season & even if you don't understand everything on it to 100%, simply give the dishes a try, with about 3-4 you'll be full if there's two of you (we ordered 5-6 & were completely exploding 😅).   We weren’t blown away by the food or the drinks at this place, but the place has a cool vibe to it so we still really recommend it! We didn’t really know what to order so we asked the personnel to put something together for us. The suggestion was 4-5 dishes for two people so we asked for two meat, two fish, and one veggie. IT WAS A LOT (even for us that can eat quite much) The fish dishes were definitely the best in our opinion.   A friend recommended this place and I totally see why. Food and drinks were amazing, the staff was very friendly (although they might get a bit overwhelmed when it gets busy) and the environment was really diverse and inclusive. We enjoyed it so much that we actually went there twice during our 5-days stay in Lisbon :) I would recommend to book a table in advance as it gets crowded during peak hours.   The food here is some of the best we have found in Lisbon. Quite a ‘hipster’ take on local Portuguese recipes, with a changing menu. Some of the food is really incredible and all at normal local prices rather than touristy rip offs. On our last visit for lunch we had ‘migas’ which were so good we got another portion, and we also had a great tuna dish. The ambience of the place is also really cool, with a young clientele, and it’s not near any other restaurants or tourist traps, so that helps too. The only reason I haven’t given it 5stars is because the service was pretty poor on our last visit, they made absolutely no effort and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them and not very welcome at all. But we’ve been before in the evening, with a different staff and a great waiter who made the experience a totally different one. So maybe they were just having a bad day. Still highly recommend. At 23h they’re still serving dinners and they will literally expel you from your table if you’re just drinking (totally understandable but there ways of communicating it, other than with “if you’re just drinking, you have to leave, we need this table, we need the table now!”). Incredibly not welcomed, you’re then forced to drink outside...then why going there? When removing the furniture from outside, also a very aggressive employee removed all the furniture, not an explanation, no communication. A special beer (not that premium) costed 7€!   We went twice and it was definitely the best place we ate at in a week long visit to Lisboa. Love the atmosphere from the music they play to the blue giraffes painted on the walls, the grungey lighting and the big beautiful window in the main room. Get the sangria! They make it fresh for you. Everything we ate here was great but the octopus salad was probably the standout. Beetroot hummus was surprisingly memorable too.   Been there twice during my stay in Lisbon and I got to say it's one of the best local places for portuguese and fusion cuisine in the area. It's a bit off from all the tourist areas and a lot of locals eat here. The menu is written on a wall but only in portoguese which is cool but not the greatest if you don't speak the language. As much as I want this place to be all local an English menu card would help a lot. Some of the waiters speak good English and can explain the menu, others don't. The food itself is authentic but still modern with fresh ingredients. I tried the mushroom ceviche, pica Pau, Poke and the squid salad and all 4 dishes were great.   This place is for sure one of the best food spots I’ve been to in a long while. I had few things of the menu but some of the items that stood out were their melon gazpacho with prosciutto as well as their stewed oxtail. It is a bit of a “hole in the wall” in the sense that you might just walk right by and not give it a second thought but this place is amazing. The food was great. The staff was so helpful and kind. The prices are reasonable and it isn’t in a crazy tourist spot. Worth the visit. I would keep this gem to myself but you should definitely go and experience this place. They have a stage and show set up and I hear the shows there are awesome. If you’re in the area go on over. ALSO! They have solid vegetarian options.   Awesome evening, excellent food and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend the tuna tartare, if you like raw fish! Ended up staying for drinks as it turns into a club after hours. The place is buzzing in all the right ways, and feels a classy world away from the tat that Bairro Alto can sometimes feel like.   Very good deal price quantity. Huge delicious plates of red tuna ceviche for 10€! And a curious mix of other dishes available.
