  Honestly the most hostile people in Lisbon. The owner basically tried to punch my friend just because he was asking to use the bathroom while waiting for us to arrive!   Lurking down an alleyway we encountered an Asian inspired Tapas restaurant. We enjoyed some cocktails outside under a heated lamp then moved inside to have Sangrias. Had a variety of food of which the Tempura Prawns were ordered twice and were devoured! Service was very friendly and nice. Will return to try their other dishes. I had the Thai Shrimp Curry that was made with so much love and amazing flavor. My friend had a seafood soup bowl that was amazing to.   Best food ever !!! The presentation of the dishes is not only super pretty but the taste of the food is a dream and very unique and tasty! The place itself is decorated with lots of love and detail, couldn’t stop looking at all those individual little items.   I've attempted to eat here twice. First, we were accepted then later turned away because there was not enough available space since they only allow outdoor seating (like 10 people only). Ok, maybe honest mistake and miscommunication. No apology or admission of their mistake, just some attitude from the staff. I come back a few weeks right when they open - to make sure I have a seat. They tell me the kitchen is closed and I have to wait 30 minutes, and that this is just how they operate every day. (????) Why do you open if the kitchen is closed? Just open when you're ready? There are tons of restaurants in this area. Get a burger at Dallas Burger around the corner, or some amazing dumplings and Asian food in In Noodles. They'll accept you there and won't make you beg to be their customer. Last thing: if you search the 1-star reviews here, they respond to them very very poorly.   We had come back from a misty/rainy day of touring Sintra, and were wandering the streets back towards our place in search of the perfect meal to lift up our damp souls…and we found it. Chef Joao and the staff were running short staffed and it was towards the end of their night but they welcomed us in anyway. The entire crew was warm, charming and clearly loved making good food. Go with your gut & their recs…you can’t go wrong. Hoping to dine there again before leaving Lisbon and for certain will be back next time I visit.   The noodles were very overcooked and the beef (both kimchi beef for starter and beef in noodles) was super chewy and poorly cooked and rather of low quality. They charged us 5.50€ for water. A + just because the service was kind and it seemed like the owners put much effort. Since there are a handful of places around, I would avoid rather avoid this restaurant.   The two waitresses (2023/05/07)(night shift), were very uncoordinated. One said we had to wait 10 minutes for a table (the table was empty…) but after a couple of minutes, the other waitress sat people, with no reservation, at that table. When we asked why, the attitude and rudeness started. Through out the whole service, she was very unfriendly and rude. The food it’s ok. The prices, for that kind of place’s slightly expensive.   I cant speak for the food, because I never got to try it. We booked a table for 20h30, one of us as at the door, the other on the way. We told the restaurant we were there at 20h36 - to which we got "we are very strict with times, we gave your table away". Weird (any restaurant usually would give you 10 minutes), but we were the ones at fault, so we accepted that and asked if we could wait and try to get a table... The waitress said she could not guarantee a table, but we said we could wait, which we did. Less than 10 minutes later, a table is vacant...And we are told the restaurant decided to close earlier (this was before 21h, when the restaurant's kitchen closes at 22h). Note, they had just brought food out, and there are tables who haven't even ordered. The restaurant and food looked nice, but this was really disrespectful. I guess they did not like something about us - it's a shame I did not ask for the complaint book to find out what their problem was. Go at your own risk - but for a way better experience, try the african restaurant down the street - Mambo. You won't get asian tapas, but you will get one of the best services in town, actually caring about clients and not just blind profit.   Excellent dining experience. Adorable side street easily found. No reservation, seated immediately at an earlier hour (7ish) but got busy as the night went on. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Great service. Delicious Asian bistro. Recommend getting one dish per person, the rice and vegetables and sharing tapas style. Loved the personal interaction by the chef, and the tasty ginger tequila shot we shared together to close out the meal (shot was free!). It was 58 euro for three people, six dishes and two waters.   We first want to roots at random but were instantly taken away by the Vibe, the service and the Food. The tapas is different from anywere else.   My friends and I tried to call 3 times to make a reservation and were told that we need to pay 10 euros to secure the table, which was fine, but that if we didn't have MBWAY we had to go there at a specific time and give the money in person. I didn't have time to arrive exactly then, so I called again and was told "actually we're already full". I suggested that for the next time they would try and improve their system, since we had called 3 times the day before and were now being but in a position where we couldn't get a table. The place itself is so unique and quirky - so much to take in - like a museum of thought-provoking curious 🤣. This place had such a nice energy we would definitely go back.   Quite disappointing... it's a pity because the location in the green street is nice and the decoration as well. But the food is not really good, especially for the price. Only the tapas were available (which is ok since they told us before we sat), for minimum 7 euros a dish if I remember well. We took the mango tofu which I liked but it was not amazing, and then siu mai which were clearly coming from a frozen box you can buy at the supermarket. The owner confirmed it was not homemade. Both the chef and waitress insisted on only ordering two starters telling us it was enough and basically insisted we don't order more.   Amazing place, loved the decoration, style and the vegetarian couscous I ordered was sooo delicious!! The owner was very welcoming and friendly, he took the time to explain every detail and doubt we had, we appreciated it :) only reason why I gave 4 stars: the straws for the drinks were out of plastic, it would be great if you could use ecological or reusable straws (or no straws where not necessary?). Lisbon is Europes green city 2020 and I have happily seen in so many restaurants that they use all reusable materials (glass jars, ceramics, etc), so a change to more sustainable and environmental friendly materials would be very much appreciated. Also, some more vegetarian or vegan options would be great. I also think that portions are really huge and most people are not able to finish it, so to reduce food waste smaller food portions would be more convienient for both sides.   We visited from Dublin for a few days and saw this very quirky lovely restaurant on the street where we were staying. We have eaten in thousands of restauants but this will always stick in our memory for the absolutely amazing flavours. Even the bread that came with butter and soft cheese was amazing. I dint know what he did but it was devine. The main course was chicken with peanut butter with beautiful rice. A culninary delight. My wife had thai curry and was so fresh and you could taste the freshness. Main courses are approx €10 and the bottle of wine was the same price. We had the carmalised banana fritter with ice cream for €3.50. I also had an amazing few Ginger Coca Colas which uses their own home made ginger syrup. Please visit Roots for an absolutely amazing experience before it becomes popular. Only opened 5 months ago they said. The girl running front if house .. the chefs partner... is so pleasant kind and nice.   We found this place by happenstance (as many places in Lisboa are found) and completely loved our evening. The owners are super sweet and down to earth he even came to have a shot of Ginja with us.
