  Very good Chinese food. My Asian friend said it is authentic, so I believe in him. 😉 The staff is really good and focused on their customers.   The waiters and staff here are sleepy/dopey. Honestly, bad training and bad management, waste of time. Food is good, its nothing spectacular but its also not something you'd complain about.   I really hate having to give 1 star ratings but unfortunately I have to do it this time. My companion and me had dinner at this place a few days ago and sadly we're still recovering from food poisoning. It was the only meal we had in the second part of the day and both of us started feeling very sick about two hours after eating there. The symptoms were very aggressive, they lasted for days and we're not not particularly sensitive people. I really hope they manage to sort out the issue so that nobody else has to go through the same ordeal we had to endure.   This place is unbelievable! Not what you’d expect in Lisbon, Portugal. The Szechwan chefs are amazing! They come here to work and their recipes are all kept in their heads no books or notes. There food and seasonings are all authentic! The food and drinks were amazing! My husband has visited three times and when I traveled with him he took me there and I am so glad he did. I highly recommend it. It’s right off the water. And has a beautiful property. The waiter was fantastic and friendly. He even gave us a special tour! We tried the Peking (roast) duck, it was the best one we ever had oversea, Chongqing Xiao Mian also very good, the noodle was a bit over cooked though. Price was a bit high but really worth it.   This was the best Chinese food we've had in Portugal. We sat at a round table with nine people. It is served traditionally, the dishes are served family style and for the table. We began with dim sum, very good except for the xao long boa, a clueless attempt. We had steamed sea bass (robalo) which was absolutely outstanding. We also loved the Peking Duck with the wrappers. The eggplant was also excellent. We also had a nice fruity white wine which paired nicely and reasonably priced. The also have a great chilli oil if you like it spicy.   One of the most expensive Chinese meals I have ever had in Europe. My Asian stomach was craving for steamed white rice, so forget about the price. Fortunately the food was legit Chinese cooking and not the Chop Suey nonsense from across the Atlantic. And how good were they? The fried cabbage actually got some wok heat in it! The twin cooked pork (literal translation of a famous Sichuan dish) should have been fried longer to remove more grease from the belly meat but still they got the basics correct by adding leeks, preserved black beans and sliced green peppers.   At lunchtime we had Xiao long bao, small noodles and fried rice & stirred beef. Xiao long bao, this dish was not Xiao long bao and tasted of too much grease. The other beef dishes also tasted the same. Greasy! We asked for some Jasmine tea, this was good and came in a pot but, we were charged €9.50 which is a ridiculous price. Updated October 2023 Visited again expecting a good meal. Sadly the meal was very mediocre, most plates were off and we returned the tofu simply not eatable for us.   Food was really good. Porco preto amazing! Melts in mouth, like butter. The duck very tender! Cant remember the noodle dish with some minced meat, it was a starter or just a side. Amazing too.   I've been to the restaurant a year ago or something (2021/2022). The staff was very welcoming, the decoration is nice. But to be totally honest, the food was just OK. It wasn't bad or anything but for the price on the menu, it was WAY overpriced for what is essentially just a fancier run of the mill Chinese restaurant (that you can find outside of China at least). If it wasn't for the considerably above average restaurant decoration and its effective location in Parque das Nações, I wouldn’t recommend it. If you go in prepared for the overpriced dishes, then yes, it’s a one-time decent experience. Wouldn’t return though, can find very decent Chinese restaurants for a way smaller price tag. My review is a 3/5 but it is essentially for the price, otherwise it would be a 4/5. (Traduzido pelo Google) Fui ao restaurante há um ano ou algo assim (2021/2022). We liked the food, the prices are a bit on a higher side but the food and the atmosphere completely worth it. Portions for many positions are huge.   I’ve lived in Hong Kong for a year, and this was some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Such innovative dishes that still have tradition. The only thing I’ll say is I ordered xiao long bao, but they weren’t actually soup dumplings. Other than that, everything was insanely good.   As a Chinese, I advise you not to waste your money. This is probably the best Sichuan food in Portugal, but totally not worth the price. I don't think it tastes authentic at all. We ordered a Sichuan maocai, which tastes like food cooked in a hot pot at home. Food was bland and tasteless. I have lived in London for many years and the prices in this restaurant are much higher than the excellent Sichuan restaurants in London. That’s crazy!   Very nice experience for New Years' eve dinner. Great food and very well located. The reception in the afternoon to book reservation wasn't very nice yet the staff during night was great. The architecture and decoration is beautiful. The only complain is that the environment song is the same for the entire night and became quite annoying after a while.   This restaurant was unique in Portugal before covid. I use to go there since the inauguration of the restaurant. Staff very clean and professional. Food that you could not find on any other Chinese restaurant. Amazing quality and taste. Original food. After a long time without going there. I found the staff very poorly prepared. Clothes of all staff ridiculously dirty like months without cleaning and no ironing at all. The food was not as good as before not even close but the posted photos look nice. This restaurant use to be full of Chinese people that really know what to eat. Today I didn’t find even one Chinese eating there. What a mess. It is a pearl that was transformed in cheap plastic.   the Old House is one of the best restaurants in lisbon. but today they left me dissatisfied with an empty stomach. at 2:45 pm I came by for takeaway 15 minutes before closing time. I wanted to order a small portion of noodles and xioa boa. Two dishes that they normally serve within 5 to 7 minutes. The waiters left me empty handed, they said they no longer take orders and that I can come back at 7 pm. they immediately, turned their backs to me so it was no use to have further conversation. I come from far and live outside Lisbon, I know that these dishes can be prepared quickly, but the service didn't even bother to ask the kitchen if there is another possibility.   Ambience, location and staff were wonderful. The food left alot to be desired and frankily we was very disappointed by the taste and quality of the food we ordered. We love chinese food and ordered what we consider our fav dishes. The sweet and sour soup was extremely vinegar based. The rice balls were not great and lacked salt. For our main course the peanut chicken was too salty and the soy rice was borderline bland and no salt again. Note we waited 10mins for the soy rice to arrive after flagging down a waiter to ask why it had not arrived... We were so disappointed we left ended up grabbing a takeaway on the way back!   I used to have the best dinner at this restaurant several years ago, so I had high expectations for a revisit, however I don’t think the food served is authentic from sichuan any more. I’ve tried dandan noodle and bingfen which are traditional street food from sichuan, I’d say the quality is not impressive at all, and it’s definitely overpriced for other dishes I’ve ordered for dinner. There are better Chinese restaurants elsewhere that offer more authentic food for less.   This was by far the best and most authentic Chinese food I've eaten in Portugal. Real traditional Sichuan dishes, with few 'tailored to local market' compromises. The dumplings were made on the premises and cooked to perfection, my only criticism would be that there was no scaldingly hot soup in the xiou long bao 😁 . We had twice cooked pork, green beans with minced pork 🌶🌶🌶, spicy prawns with peanuts and fried rice. It was all just so delicious.   I had lunch in The Old House with some friends and we had a very good experience. The space is pleasant (we sat outdoors) and the staff is ok. The menu is very rich (almost overwhelming) in options. We ordered shrimp dumplings, the old house rolls, roasted black pork, spicy noodles, Beijing roast duck and shredded pork and we ended up very satisfied.   Spontaneous visit to Parque das Nações ended up with lunch at The Old House - and what a positive surprise this was. I'm usually scared of restaurants with large menus, and The Old House boasts a 60+ page menu. We ordered a bunch of small plates without any real expectations, but it is quite a pricy restaurant compared to the majority of other Chinese restaurants in the city. It was worth every penny. The food was absolutely delicious and service was great. The steamed pork belly is the best pork belly I've ever had. The gyozas and wontons were crafted with hot spicy love. Honestly, this place could take 90% of items off the menu and it would be an improvement- I had absolutely no idea what or even how to go about choosing food when the menu is a hard cover, 80 page book.   With a vast menu, wonderful staff, and pleasing ambience, The Old House offered me a great first impression. Everything we ordered was so flavorful and delicious, except for one item, which was just not to our taste preference. They took it off our bill without us even requesting so! Top notch service. The Old House Gyoza were actually the best I've ever had in my life--just bursting with amazing flavor. I highly recommend. The only thing that left me rating 4 stars instead of 5 (really I would give it 4.5 if I could) was how confusing the pricing is on the menu. It just seems very inconsistent and some items seem extremely overpriced, but it's hard to gauge the size of the dishes so perhaps some of them are meant for more than one person. Overall, I recommend dining here for authentic Chinese food for sure. I would love to go back and try more dishes, especially the Baozi! They looked fabulous.   The only chinese food restaurant that I have ever been, in Lisbon, that cares for the authenticity of the dishes instead of trying to adapt to a more european taste. The prices may be a little too high for some, but for its quality, it is perfectly acceptable. I have been there multiple times already, and also had take-aways from it many times too, and continue to go there every once in a while as my place of choice for chinese food.   The Kung Fu soup was nice, good presentation but portion is small. The fried chicken was very average, good portion size but I’ve had better. We liked the Kung Pao Prawns, again good portion. The spicy roasted fish was out of the world, so tasty and flavourful. It hit every spot and was definitely the highlight of the night. I would come back for this fish dish. We came on Boxing Day and there was no heating inside at all. We had to wear our coats during the meal, which was a disappointing to say the least. If it weren’t for this I would give it 5 stars.   Every table was well spaced out and all customers were scanned by thermometer before being seated. We felt very safe. The menu was on a QR code via ones own mobile phone but some at our table couldn't quite figure it out so the hostess helped by holding a menu and going through it page by page.   Calling this place the best chinese restaurant I been to would do it a disservice. They specialize in sichuan cuisine. And it's delicious. The ambience is very upscale with impeccably dressed and extremely professional staff. Out of many dishes I had this starter which was a small bowl of a noodle soup with ground pork. It was so good I'd have that every remaining bday of my life. I got so obsessed with it that I started making the next best thing at home. Ramen. In 5 minutes 4 people kept nagging us if we decided what we want to eat, we just lost our appetite and decided we will just finish our drinks and move on to another location.   The food was mediocre and way way way overpriced. It’s just a Sichuanese cusine, which offers nothing like creativity or experience and usally at a lower price range comparing to cantonese food. This is one of the most ridiculously expensive chinese foods (specifically, Sichuanese cusine) that I’ve ever seen in Europe. ( Can you believe its even more expensive than the one in Copenhagen? Really? in Lisbon?) The service was way below par. There is no active service at all unless you raise your hand asking for something, not even mention the supposed interaction between the waiter and dinner. The waiter didnt ask for the drink, and didnt come to you for ordering unless you call them. Also, the dish was sent to the wrong table, and the appetiser was sent after all the entrees. The owner seriously need to learn the customer journey to improve the service and management. Overall, the quality of food and service doesnt justify the overpriced menu. More upscale and expensive than other chinese restaurents in Lisbon but quality, service and surrounding fully deserves it. Upstairs nice booths for 4 seatings. Outside great for summertime.   This place offer the best Chinese food I ever had in Portugal. The menu is huge and has loads of great option I advice asking the waitress for suggestion or worked really great for us.   This place blew our culinary senses!! Great service, authentic Chinese food, delicately prepared and brilliantly blended. The glass noodles with mince were excellent, the spicy meal on the menu is enjoyable and not over the top spicy. The steamed fish had all of its flavours well preserved, tenderly cooked and nicely garnished. We always tend to overorder, which the service helped us out with as well.   The place itself is amazing: pretty decorations and details. Service is great, food is delicious! We celebrated our bachelor party there and knew some chineese wedding traditions from staff. As a nice surprise we got small pretty gifts from the restaurant: traditional small kimono. Also, we have one vegan friend and she got food according to her restrictions without any problem. So, if you want to have some rest in a cozy place with good chineese traditional food - you should visit The Old House. We loved it.   The restaurant is by the sea. Therefore the 2 stars. Modern and nicely decorated restaurant. The food was rather average, I didn't expect that the restaurant was overpriced given the food was average. I had tried lots of chinese food in several big cities in Europe such as Paris or Milan, here I won't recommend. Service was rather clumsy, forgotten my starter dish , reminded but no apology or any sense of organisation there. Another setback was the food especially rice was served not warm but rather room temperature. That is a no go for a chinese restaurant, my opinion. Ask any asian.   Amazing service and food options. Probably the most delicious chinese food I’ve ever had. We ordered the mushroom dish, the clear noodles that come with pork but we ordered without the pork and I couldn’t stop eating it. Also ordered the hot and sour soup which came in a big pot for everyone to share and it was sooo delicious. Also ordered some gyozas. The steamed ones weren’t as good as the other ones forgot what they’re called but they had more flavor and were juicier. Can’t wait to go back!   While the food was very nice, our service was awful. We came early without reservations and got a table at the back corner by the door. While I was fine with this, 20 minutes later we found our selves between a table for 20+ and one for 10+. Our 4 starters came one at a time over a 40 minute period, while the large tables got all of theirs together. Our main courses also came scattered, and missing items ... The manager came by after all the plates got cleared and let us know they forgot one of our dishes and asked if we wanted it now :( ... I declined and just asked for our bill.   I've been here a few times and I have to say that this is a great restaurant, one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. Food is traditional and waiters are really friendly. Try the Peking duck, you won't regret it!   Usually I am not a big fan of Chinese food, but this restaurant made me rethink my views. The Beijing Duck was awesome, the Chicken with Peanuts was a nice surprise. I also loved the spiralized potatoes and the beans (these were sweet and very tasty!). The natural juices were very good as well. In the end, there was no room for dessert... The salad with berries is actually lettuce swimming in a ball of soy sauce , Salty as hell, the sea food soup was a half can of green beans and half can of corn with water. I returned it. The old house duck is actually a dish of heavily deep fried leftover bones soked in super spicy oil that will burn a whole through your stomach. I eat wasabi like its avocado spread and I couldn't even eat a second bite from this horrible dish. We asked to complain and return this impossible to eat food, so the owner came to apologize and refund us for the soup and gave us free dessert.
