The oysters were one of the best i’ve had in a long time, super meaty and strong umami taste. Cocktails were also really nice and perfect with the oysters.   We tried to eat here after being told it would be a 5 min wait. After 20-25 mins we checked back in and they had given the table to a different walk up group. We were bummed but told them we’d go somewhere else rather than keep waiting. As we were walking away the manager caught up to us around the corner with a bottle of chilled wine to apologize. We were so shocked and pleasantly surprised that he went so out of his way to make it up to us, we made a reservation for the following night. Oysters, salmon, and hamachi were fantastic!   I tried to call for reservation, but the server just hang up the call when I say “can you speak English?”. And then I tried 3 more times, all failed. I thought something’s going wrong and I let my wife call again. Guess what? The server picked up, but as my wife said “hi, we want to make reservation for tonight.”, she hang up again, which is soooooooo impolite and unwelcoming for visitors!! I don’t normally post reviews but it was so good I had to let people know. The sardines and salmon are amazing. Get the salmon any which way you like it’s proper quality as are the oysters.   Our first meal in Lisbon. It was just what we needed after a long flight from Portland, OR and a short lay over in Amsterdam. We walked from our hotel (The Editory) in Alfama to Oyster and Margarita. The Italian Rose was so refreshing and perfect with the oysters, the surf and turf plate was fresh and the presentation appetizing, salmon toast and the basque cheesecake was out of this world! We also tried the Paloma which was refreshing and balanced. Service was not hurried and the staff is pleasant and knows their menu. This spot should be on your list for places to try in Lisbon.   Great atmosphere, they make a really mean spicy margarita! The staff is a little odd, constantly trying to clear your table even when you’re still eating.. their oysters are yum but I don’t think their are the freshest! They make a really good cheese board, and I also recommend their vegan plate! I think for the location, ambience and overall food it is a great value for money. I keep meeting my friends who are visiting Lisbon here :) oh and if you aren’t up for margaritas I recommend their vino verde! The view out onto the road was very relaxing. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were in Lisbon for 3 days and visited this place 3 times, though the first time the queue was simply too long for us to wait. The other 2 visits we went in the afternoon. most tables were booked from 6-7pm. So if you want a fix of some amazingly fresh and tasty oysters you will need to hit up the place at around 4-5pm. Service was nice but not as welcoming as we are used to from literally all other places we went. So was a bit off & the people were also not the best - but ! It was well balanced and paired really well with their black caviar which was mild, creamy and subtle hints of salty ocean chilled on a bed of ice. I really enjoyed the flavors on the Rockefeller oysters which had a mild forwardness of the celery and dill in each serving and the champagne oysters had that nice creamy touch. I paired that with a classic martini with gin, up and lemon peel. I wish I tried the raw oysters, which means I’ll have to come back.   rather unfriendly vibe here. not that i need the staff to be my best friend but a little bit of cordiality would be nice. ordered mussels which were on the cold side… bedded on very watery sauce. ordered bread so that i could soak up the juice but the bread was a non porous dark meal grain bread. it was fine because the sauce wasn’t worth it anyway. the salmon came on a bed of vegetables including carrots and green peas. i think they were green peas but the looked a bit gray as they were over cooked. assuming they started with fresh peas, but maybe they came from a can which would explain it. so many other great restaurants in Lisboa. do yourself favor and skip this one if you’re looking for a good food experience. The cheesecake was probably the best one I ever had, and I suggest to try the Rockefeller oysters too.   This place is the bomb. The local oysters are plump flavorsome and fresh! We ordered most of the food on the menu but can recommend the vegetable bruschetta & fish plate. Drinks wise the Moscow mule is delicious as is Natashas wine cocktail it’s amazing. Can’t highly recommend this place the staff are attentive, engaging and nice to talk to.
