  I'd like everyone to know about this place and no one to know about this place! This was the best surprise of our holiday. Friendliest staff, loud music, flawless and imaginative food. Everything was full of joy. We had 3 plates, 2 desserts and a large water for 55€. It was worth EVERY penny. Cash only! I have not had a better meal.   Went back here twice on our trip because we loved it so much. If they have the steak tartare on the menu, you must get it. It’s the best. But everything on their menu is so good. The portions aren’t tiny and everything is delicious and thoughtful. Highly recommend. If you are going for dinner. Make a reservation or come when they open to stand in line.   The food, even though on the pricy side, was really good. We had the blood sausage, beef tartare, octopus and ray. Esp the blood sausage was an interesting dish to us. I took off 1 star because the red house wine is really to avoid (very strong, flat in flavour, a bit watery), and the ray was overly salted. It's also not the cosiest atmosphere, which clashes a bit with the more refined dishes.   Wonderfull and cozy place to have food. My first experince in eating at a Tasca and ot was amazing. Service was fast and food delicious. We went in the afternoon ans luckily got a seat without waiting time. We tried the spanish octopus which is highly recommended. Also had cod fish cakes which was also good.   There are so many places that are WAY better then this one. It’s not worth the hype at all, also all the comments about hosts being rude for no reason are true, we’ve experienced the same. Also, the food is way too overpriced and not tasty at all. 1 L of white house wine was 15 euros which is a joke. It’s just a bad place and there are millions of others which are way better.   After living in Lisbon for 3 months and trying a fair few restaurants, I can hand on heart say that Baldracca has been my highlight. The service is EXCEPTIONAL. I have never experienced such attentive hospitality, it’s taken an already amazing place from a 10/10 to 100/10. Not to mention that the food is out of this world. Such an inspired and creative menu, I will most certainly be back!   Had some of the best food that I've had in a long time here. Everything was really well balanced. Their slogan is "fine dining is dead" and the atmosphere reflects that. It's like a loud and unpretentious bar with fine dining level food. Food is on the pricier side for the portion size but it's definitely worth every penny. Would recommend the "not a cheesecake".   This was our first meal in Lisbon and we loved it! We had an 8pm reservation (booked through IG). They open at 8pm so everyone was waiting to be sat at the small restaurant. It was lively and fun! Most importantly, the food did not disappoint. We had the octopus (so good and we don't love octopus), carrots (probably my favorite), surf & turf hot dog (an elevated hot dog - what is not to love???), cod fritters (my husband's favorite) and a special tomato and watermelon salad (refreshing and yummy).   For someone who doesn’t like beetroot, my husband cleaned up the plate 😂 The best meal we had in Lisbon. As we came in we were greeted by friendly staff, music blasting, goes with the vibes of the place. They recommended us 3-4 plates for 2 pax but we ended up enjoying it so much we added on ordering 5 dishes + 2 desserts. Octopus was so tender and the beetroot salad was my favourite.   One of my favourite meals in Lisbon. Every dish was delicious. We got the Spanish octopus, codfish cakes, steak tartar, not the cheesecake and crème brûlée. My favourite 2 dishes were the octopus and the crème brûlée (it comes covered in peanuts). You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. If you aren’t a fan of strong cheeses then opt out of the not the cheesecake as it has a very strong feta/goat cheese taste. Make sure you message them on instagram a day or so before to reserve a spot or you’re waiting approximately one hour for 2 people. They do ask you to leave your name and come back but the line does move faster. If you aren’t there they give your table away so come back sooner than the one hour to ensure you get your spot.   A friend recommended this Restaurant to us for our last night in Lissabon. We went there willing to spend a good amount of money, unfortunately the food didn’t meet our expectations. We tried the pork and the Octopus, both were the highest priced items on the list. The pork had such a bad taste so we only ate one bite, the Octopus we couldn’t eat either as the sauce was horrible ( Chorizo fat ) and the overall taste wasn’t good as well.   Honestly one of the best meals and experiences my friends and I have ever had. We stumbled into Jonas, one of the previous chefs who recommended we visit this restaurant. Lucky for us, there wasn’t a line out the door, as usual, and we were able to grab a table in less than a 30 min wait. The atmosphere was vibrant, cozy, and friendly. We immediately sparked a conversation with the table next door. Bruno (the chef) let us know that the menu was rotating but if you’re there when either the grilled octopus, veal, rabbit or tartare are on the menu, they are divine. The carrot dish deserves its own few sentences here. We were baffled by the complexity and balance of the carrot dish (how could a vegetable dish be this good!?). We were so impressed we had to ask Bruno to walk us through the recipe. After we paid our bill, we still needed more and ordered the crème brûlée topped with roasted peanuts (brilliant).   Had lunch here and was blown away by it! Chef Pedro and his team have created a very cozy space. The food was incredible and so fresh with locally sourced products. We had a tomato salad from a farm where hundreds of different varieties of tomatoes are grown and you could tell how fresh it was. While it’s hard to pick a favorite dish I would say the steak tartare with pastel was so delicious and unique.   First impressions matter as much as the end of the meal, and for our first time here, they got it right. We arrived just before dinner service started at 8pm and were told they were fully booked but there might be some no shows. We hung out for a few minutes past 8pm and were summoned to a table by this guy who initially seemed a bit gruff. Quickly understood that their style of service meant that they had to be as efficient as possible. Liked how he made an announcement to all the tables seated first in the front area regarding the menu so that he didn’t have to repeat himself multiple times. He turned out to be a very sweet guy - service was friendly and efficient. Food was fantastic at this price point! The vegan peas dish was a revelation. Wasabi peas in a dish!?!? Thank you for the inspiration! We were recommended 3-4 dishes to share for the two of us. We wound up ordering 6 in total, the food was that good. Got out nearly as quickly as we got in, which is appreciated since we’ve had to wait up to 30 minutes to get the bill in much higher end restaurants. Will be back!   Really amazing place! Run by the most friendly staff from Brazil. The dishes were unique and super delicious (especially the slightly salted carrot cake with chocolate sauce - a family recipe). The location is also great, it is in a quirky backstreet with live music and cool decorations.   I was out with two girl friends and wanted to go for some drinks after dinner, and went in to ask if we could sit down for some drinks, and was greeted by the most unwelcome, rude and angry person who just replied “no”. And I asked if they were closed, because there were alot of people sat around with drinks and loud music blasting. And he looked at me angrily and said that he was the owner and he decided when the restaurant was closed.   We spent 40 days in Portugal eating out most nights and this was our favorite restaurant. Everything on the menu is perfectly cooked and balanced. Portuguese food can sometime lack acid, but never here. The service was also quick and adept with great recommendations and complimentary apertif.   Food is only half the experience here. Don't get me wrong the food was truly remarkable. Every dish was a culinary delight that sent all your senses into overdrive. Our party, (a bunch of brits and a canadian) were lucky enough to talk our way into a table on a jam packed Tuesday night. The meal was chefs choice and we were not disappointed one bit. The service, provided by the owners and waitstaff was some of the most friendly and accomodating I have ever experienced. It was obvious that there was love for the food being prepared and the guests who were lucky enough to be eating it. This was our last night in Lisbon and if there had been another, we would have returned for more excellent food and great service. Thank you Tasca Baldracca, the memory of our meal lingers.   My family and I had a decent lunch here (had the over hyped bread (and combo), potato with pork sauce, chicken gizzards, beets salad, and a beer), then we were told it's cash only. Had to go to a nearby ATM to retrieve cash (which charged about $20 in fees, really, more than $20 in fees)), just to pay for our meal. All of this was still within the realm of acceptable. But then, I was walking by the restaurant the same evening, and thought to stop by for a glass of wine...only to be shooed away by the same guy who helped us in the afternoon. He now said, he can't serve a beer, even though there were more than a half-a-dozen people enjoying their night just outside the restaurant. I'd give this place a one star, but the chicken gizzards were good.
