  The food was amazing. We ordered vegetable Pakoray, vegetable samosas, beef samosas, chicken krahi, seekh kabob. Plain and garlic man. Food was excellent. We were visiting from Chicago and were missing our home cooked meals and this was pretty close to it. Not sure if we will be back in Lisbon but if we do we will come back here again.   Can by it by chance, but happy that we did! Greeted by a friendly gentleman at the door who asked in which language we preferred the menu. Food was quickly prepared and it was delicious. We were able to pay with national bank card (international bank cards aren't accepted, that is clearly stated on the front door) Highly recommend Taste of Punjab if you're in the Martin Moniz area.   We went to this restaurant for dinner twice on our 3 day trip to Lisbon. Service is fast, food is delicious, portions are big and price is very reasonable. Samosa (€1.50) was big and full of flavour. We got beef karahi (€9.00) and fish curry (€8). Both really good. The fish they use on curries has loads of bones, but it's delicious. We got pilau rice (€1.50 per portion). Rice portion is double than what we get in Indian restaurants back home. To resume, excellent value for money and I would recommend it to everyone.   Very tasty food, highly recommended. We ordered Biryani , it was the most delicious Biryani i have ever had! Although i was full i tried to eat the wohle dich. Very clean area. You can enjoy the food since it was not too spicy. Everything was perfect. For the second time also we visited this place and ordered Seekh kebab and Tikka Masala. Both were tasty as ww expected.   We tried to get a table at one of the fancier Indian restaurants, but when that failed we ended up here - and we loved it! Just rice soaked in curry, malai boti was uncooked chicken, tasteless and nauseating, what they call nans are worst made roti. Arrogant owner and no customer service.   Nestled between buildings up a staircase reminiscent of the Exorcist is a hole in the wall Indian restaurant serving dishes wholly incongruous with its unassuming exterior. How it came to be that such culinary talent has remained hidden to all save but a few intrepid travelers may never be known. But there is real love and consideration going into the dishes at The Taste of Punjab. The little things are delightful, like the slivers of ginger that thoughtfully adorn the vegetarian curries, and the way the roti is large, full of layers, and delivered hot, straight from the blistering fire of an actual tandoor oven. In the background, English films with French subtitles play on a small television. The crowd is local, and clearly in the know of how good the food is here. And how is food here? Perfectly balanced, seasoned and spiced, every dish felt like one prepared by an experienced hand at home. And indeed, the sense one gets at Taste of Punjab is one of family. The warm and genial owner and operator is more a kind uncle than a restaurant proprietor. His brother, the genius in the kitchen, is a hidden gem.   Visited this restaurant last week. First the good points. Tables available inside or outside. Staff friendly. Food on table within 10 mins of ordering. Prices reasonable-ish. Next the average . My Lamb dish had 2 very tough pieces of meat but the rest was melt in the mouth! The Naan here is basically a chapati flat bread, so if you want a 'traditional' fluffy type naan you will not get it here. The fish curry had bones - and lots of them. Something that added aggravation to eating the curry, as half the time you were picking out bones. This might not be an issue for you but if it is, then avoid the fish curries. Lastly the disappointing. The Sagg Paneer was totally no to our taste at all. There was no evidence of any cheese, so we assume it was a cottage cheese that had been stirred into the spinach. But the dish tasted like the spices had been burnt. It was not very nice and after one mouthfull we left the dish alone. So go here and choose wisely and you will probably be alright but dont expect a curry or side dishes like you might get 'back home'. I’m not sure why this restaurant is listed as Pakistani in Google Maps, it’s standard Indian fare here. Later he was trying to justify it by making different excuses. First he told that if we accept European cards, we have to pay charges.   small restaurant with average food and average service! I am from South Asia (Pakistan) and it doesn’t offer authentic taste of most of the dishes.   Came here on my way back to hotel to grab a quick bite not thinking it would be anything special . Got the chicken tikka misala and beef jalfrezi. To my complete surprise, the food was exceptionally good! One of the best Indian food I've had. Truly cannot judge this restaurant by its cover.
