  I do not normally post poor reviews for businesses but my experience at Lumi Rooftop was really unfortunate. I made a reservation for my team who all have never been to Lisbon before, in hopes it would be the perfect happy hour spot for our first night. We have a team of 8 so I contacted the restaurant beforehand and was instructed to make two reservations since they can only take up to 6. So I made one for 6, one for 2, and was told they would just put the tables together when we arrived. When we arrived, the attitude of the gentleman who sat us was extremely poor. He repeatedly told me they could not do a table of 8 and was not kind in his approach what so ever. Eventually, they did push the tables together which was appreciated. We then waited 20 minutes just for someone to bring water (after having to ask twice) and the service was extremely slow. Our food selections were good, aside from receiving a soup with a very long hair in it. Our server by the end of the evening was very kind, but I don't think this is a spot for large groups. Ele me disse repetidamente que eles não poderiam fazer uma mesa de 8 e não foi gentil em sua abordagem. Eventualmente, eles juntaram as mesas, o que foi apreciado. Esperamos então 20 minutos apenas para alguém trazer água (depois de pedir duas vezes) e o serviço foi extremamente lento.   We dropped in here without a reservation on our holiday. There were people in the lobby in front of us who were turned away because there were no seats available on the terrace. We waited to see if we could get a table inside, however a pair of customers from the terrace asked to be seated inside because they were cold, and the host kindly offered us their table. The views are spectacular, however it can be a bit chilly as the sun sets (this was late March). But have a couple of their excellent cocktails and you won't feel it, plus they have patio heaters and will bring blankets if you ask for them. The food was delicious, and the staff friendly and attentive. If you want fantastic food with a beautiful view across Lisbon, I highly recommend Lumi Rooftop.   I am surprised at all the great reviews, our experience was completely different. Food was so mediocre, hummus was so dry and pastey, goat cheese appetizer was ok. Our kids food was a little better than all the main items we ordered. And to top it off the service was non-existent , it felt like we were disturbing the server anytime we had to order etc. Just to add to the context our reservations were at 12:30 PM, so it wasn't even that busy. On our last trip we visited Java Rooftop and hands down the food was remarkable there. Also Java's service and views are so much better, now that I have visited both.   The roof terrace is hidden amongst the other buildings and still overs a beautiful view over the river. Service was welcoming and customer-orientated.   Came in for a quick snack and drink on Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival a tall guy/bald with beard and glasses didn’t seem to happy about the time we arrived. There was only one table available due to “reservations” which we understand so we decided not to stay. He suggested us to go to PARK even though we really wanted to check out the LUMI rooftop/told him PARK is actually closed on Sundays. Anyways, waste of time.   The big problem at this fantastic bar outside where that light was Cero so we did not see what we ordered, when moving inside the it all were solved and the dinner was a success perfect food.   Terrible service. We had a reservation for brunch at 11:30, they say us down in the terrace and completely forgot about us. One of the waiters approached us to ask if we were ready to order about 15 minutes after being seated but we did it even have the menu!!! No water, no plates, no napkins. Nothing. A couple sat right next to us and they prepared their table right away and even seeing that we didn’t have anything they didn’t even bother to give us silverware, water, nothing. Good food - especially for the price (pica pau was amazing, green bean tempura meh), great service (for eg when we asked for milk (for our coffee), this is the only place that asked if we wanted regular or oat or soy), AMAZING views, very customer focused (wifi password is on the table without u having to ask) only thing I would change is to have the shade down when the sun is out as it gets very hot! They can work on quantity of food, and rotating some different types of menu. The menu was almost exactly the same as 1.5 years ago when we visited Lisbon last time.   This is so far the best food we've ever tasted in town. We started to order pull pork sandwich, codfish and spicy chicken wings, which we ended up loving them so much, and decided to order more, roasted octopus, that was amazing!!! We came without reservation so outdoor seating wasnt available, but the fact that how amazing was the food actually still made an awesome experience here!   We enjoyed our stay very much. It is advised though to book a table online before visiting. We did that beforehand and when we arrived a couple before us asked if they could get in and were told, they could come back in 2 hours. The food was great, the wine too and the stuff was very welcoming. Great service! Also the view is very nice.   Fantastic place with great food and service! Beautiful views. Our favourites were the garlic prawns and Pica Pau. We hope to return on future travels. For very hot days, it might be a good idea to find a way to create shade for the tables which are partly in the sun. When we called we were also told that the restaurant is fully booked for weeks to come and we’re offered a slot between lunch and dinner which they said was the only time they had a table available. However when we were there, there were lots of empty tables. I went with my 10 year old daughter and we both had an amazing experience.   We enjoyed our experience at Lumi so much that we returned there a week later with friends. If you enjoy the original creations of an inspired chef, this restaurant is a nice break from many of the places that offer the same old dishes. The pea gazpacho is an original take on a favorite appetizer, with just the right amount of tart and crispness, complete with crunchy croutons and cubed cucumber. The bartender also makes drinks that appeal to the eye as much as to the taste buds, including non-alcoholic mocktails, as well as the more recognizable items on the classic cocktail bar roster. King prawns cooked in a spicy bisque make for a messy, but delicious main course. We had a difficult time getting a reservation with the website, but when we showed up for a table of four, the hostess sat us inside and after a little while found us a table outdoors. Certainly, on this rooftop restaurant, the views are fantastic, giving one the chance to see across Lisbon Harbor, or to look out onto the city's many levels. The wait staff were all professionals in hospitality, and the visit there was a pleasure for the senses, and a relaxing way to spend an evening with family at sunset. Very highly recommended.   Really nice place, with extremely nice and helpful staff. The food is quite good but the portions are quite small for their hefty price. Location is really good and it gives off good vibes, unfortunately there isn’t really cover from the sun on the terrace so we had to sit outside.   We made reservations for Lumi Rooftop after seeing it on a list of best Lisbon rooftops. There were ample reservations available when we made one three weeks before but the week before, they were completely booked so I'd recommend planning ahead. We unfortunately ended up dining here on a rainy day and ended up not getting to sit on the rooftop but the folks at Lumi communicated this to us ahead of time and asked if we were okay with an indoor seat. I appreciated the communication since I had been eyeing the forecast too. The indoor seating is nice (you can see the chefs cooking!) and they asked if we wanted to step out onto the rooftop since the rain had let up a bit and the views were gorgeous! In terms of food, we ordered the roasted codfish, green bean tempura, and pica-pau. Everything tasted great and was flavorful. The tempura was so good that we ordered it at another restaurant later in our trip. It was nice to get to try some more traditional Portuguese dishes that had been on our list. Part of the Lumiares hotel, it is on the top floor. Warm welcome by the personnel, gorgeous view over Lisbon and the water, and the food… well the food is just delicious. Our group of 4 had the grilled(?) cod which was amazing, chicken skewers, orecchiette, and the large prawns in spicy sauce. However more vegetarian options would have been nice, wasn’t a fan of the sweet potato wrap & feta as it was very basic (didn’t taste very high end). The Mocktails were nice. The views weren’t as great as I expected. To get the best view of the city, you need to sit at the left end of the balcony (so around two tables and one sofa). The remainder of the seats- you can barely see the city. Waiter took ages to take our bill payment. Overall experience 3/5.   I honestly am questioning the state of reviews in Lisbon. This place gets slammed for reviews when the food was easily the best we had in Lisbon, with great views. We went to a pizzeria in the city centre with 4.8 stars and it genuinely tasted like frozen pizzas - not sure if my taste buds just do not align with the locals. IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS HERE!!!   My partner and I stayed here 2 years ago. I sadly was sick and didn’t get to enjoy the rooftop. However today on my way walking to the botanical gardens, I smelled coffee saw “roof top” & the homies at Rebel Cafe gave me helpful directions to Lumi. Did not disappoint.   Service is terrible. Like the other reviews say, they just let you wait there without so much as a greeting or to let you know someone would be with you in a minute until I went up to them to ask. Didn’t give me a menu, took long to take order. It goes beyond being busy. Very inattentive, lacking the usual Portuguese hospitality and warmth. Food is a bit salty for my taste.   The food here is incredible. Every dish we ordered was amazingly delicious. In fact it was so good, we ate here twice during our short stay in Lisbon.   I had booked ten days before as I wanted to surprise my mom for her birthday. They had to make a cake for her with candles but when we arrived nobody knew anything and so they completely ruined the surprise.   On 10th March I chose to celebrate my birthday at Lumi and it was the best choice I’ve made. Sadly it was raining so we couldn’t t enjoy the view outside but we’ve been seated inside. The staff was great, pleasant atmosphere and the food was the amazing (even now writing this review thinking about the best Tuna ceviche I had).   We had lunch twice in a few days. This is a busy rooftop restaurant and I would recommend a booking. It’s on the fifth floor of a hotel and you take the lift on the right.   Decided to go for drinks with friends. No one to welcome you on the ground floor to advise of availability. Lift decided to jolt and throw us around on the 3rd floor, took a while to get going again. This was not good for one who has a phobia of travelling in lifts!!   If I am ever back in Lisbon, I will be coming back to Lumi (located in Barro Alto district). Absolute Impeccable views of the city here. The vibe is amazing and the food is delicious. My husband made a reservation to catch the sunset. We were originally going for a tapa and cocktails but decided to stay and enjoy ourselves there for the night because we were having such a great time. Staff is friendly. There is no need to stay in the hotel to access the rooftop restaurant. I highly recommend Lumi and would suggest booking a reservation if you want a table outside.   The food was amazing! We loved the spicy shrimp as it was different to all the garlic shrimp we had eaten before that. The octopus was cooked to perfection and had the texture of scallops. We originally had resos for the rooftop bar but the weather didn't cooperate so they seated us indoor (which we didn't mind at all). Definitely worth checking out if you are Lisbon.   Went here to enjoy the rooftop but didn’t get a chance as it was raining. They don’t have a cover for the rooftop so it’s unfortunately closed when it rains. Food however was decent. I had the codfish which was amazing however, the desert was a bit of a let down. The ice cream was too hard to even bite into.   Lumi offers a rooftop experience with a view, but limited to the view of the roof itself, unless you seat at the sides of the establishment. Lumi has a modern interior but the atmosphere could be cosier. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the bartender definitely has a few tricks up their sleeve. Order “Lumi after”, but not too many as you’d probably drop the glass after a few of those. We went at night so a lot of the view is just darkness but I’m sure it’s better during the day.   Very nice and service oriented personnel. The managers always ensured that everything was alright. I was also able to work there with my laptop a few hours without any issues and I was able to change table too, because it was too hot in the sun. I went there with three friends for lunch and the food (chicken wings and tunar tartar) was delicious and drinks (strawberry lemonade and negroni) was amazing as well. The rooftop has one of the best views in the city and I can definitely recommend this place to anyone, who wants to see that amazing view.   Truly a very nice place. We had to climb our way up to get to the restaurant but it was worth the climb. The food is great but even better is the service here. Our waiter Mashood was very nice and really added to the already great experience. You pay a little extra than you would at other places. But in my opinion this was absolutely worth it. The prices are higher than average and overall, the value for money is not great.   We stumbled upon Lumi to get cocktails before our dinner reservations at another place. Even though we didn't have a booking for Lumi the hostess graciously offered us a table inside. The dinner rush was just starting to pour in so things were getting busy, but the hostess was so very kind to us. Our cocktails were spectacular. The bartender truly took his job as an art form. We hope to be back there some time, with proper reservations of course, so we may try the food.   Great vibe both indoor and outdoor. The host was a bit of a brave smart-alec, I'm not sure everyone will recognize the sarcasm with an international audience. The rooftop was full and everyone was sitting out there. People only sat inside for a drink while they waited to be seated outside. We were one of those guests. We ordered our drinks but were left alone for a while and couldn't order the food as quickly as I would have liked. We had to wave a server down to order some food. While we were eating, the host asked if we still wanted to sit outside. Which we did. So he helped us move outside. I ordered the roasted octopus and my other half ordered the burger. The fries with the burger were very good. My octopus was good/interesting. I don't have a lot of experience with octopus, but it was a little rubbery. I ordered the Lumi Negroni, which I don't think tasted similar to a Negroni. But a ginny-cinnamon drink, not sweet, very sophisticated. My other half ordered the cocktail of the month which featured ginja and pineapple - too sweet and pineappley in my opinion. Later we ordered the Lumi After and Port Vintage. You couldn't taste the licour, only pineapple juice and a sweet lime juice. I wouldn't recommend these, unless you love sweet drinks and like drinking juice. It was off to a good start but the last cocktails ruined my evening. 12 Euros for sweet juice is a waste of money. For such a nice place, I was disappointed.   Lovely location, view, staff and decor. Cocktails were beautiful, but some of the the food was underwhelming. Ceviche was really nice, cheeseboard was average and the hummus was questionable. It was dinner theater at best as we could see the kitchen prepare the food and the bar tender prepare the drinks. The kitchen staff enjoyed their work and they prepared delicious things.   Great service, excellent food! I was so happy to be back in Lisbon and have my first dinner with my friends on this beautiful rooftop. Mind you, it was the first week they were serving the new seasonal menu and oh my god… YES. The sirloin steak with fries , the grilled octopus and the ceviche were our absolute favorites. A big shoutout to that one waiter that started working there recently! He told us about how he actually tried booking a table but never succeeded before he actually starting working there!   A great location with a stunning view. Nice selection of food thar would suit a lot vegetarians and vegans... plenty of choice. Hesitated between 4 and 5 stars for the sole reason that the service will great seems "forgetful" with us having to ask multiple times and they saying that they had forgotten. But we should have expected that when on arriving they could not find our booking... maybe their system had forgotten. I decided on 5 stars because in the end, we spent 2.5 hours drinking and dining and still had a lovely meal. The food is great. The environment amazing.   We love it here. Kind, personal staff welcoming us every time . The dishes offer a selection for all tastes. We tried the new pulled pork with purple cabbage, pickles and sauce...pure YUM . Another fave is the shrimp, the lamb dish and let's not forget the delicious desserts. The view is like a postcard and it's so pretty to see the Tejo shimmering in the distance.   There is a great view however the food options are very limited. There are no substantial options for vegans so the only thing I could eat was hummus. For a restaurant in a 5* hotel, I would expect a lot more, either at least 1 vegan dish (not a side/ dip) or the ability for the chefs to make something to meet the dietary requirements. The staff were also unable to let me know if the wine/ sparkling wine was vegan or not. I had high expectations, sadly they were not met. In my past experience, the better the view, the more underwhelming the food is. Not true here! Everything was delicious, but the octopus was the best that my whole family had ever had, and we're globetrotters! We even got two servings and both were cooked to perfection. The prices were on the higher side, but perfectly fair especially considering the quality of service.
