I actually was recommended this restaurant by several people and was excited to possibly try it out. I wanted to come here and ask if they by any chance had an open table but I couldn’t find the door to the restaurant. Someone in the restaurant (not sure if it was a host or waiter) walked toward what I presume is the door and latched it closed. Then he stared me and my friend down through the restaurant windows. Anyways, I thought that was extremely rude and could not believe they treat people like that. If the problem was that they didn’t have any open tables then they could have told us instead. Amazing gastronomic experience! Highly recommend Difficult to find a place like this in such a touristic area. Do call a couple of days in advance and make a reservation cause they are full every day, and for good reason! The food was super fresh and cooked to perfection. I tried the oysters, the grilled prawns and the fried octopus and everything was superb. Oh and for sure start with the delicious sourdough bread with butter and romescu sauce, could not get enough of it. Cocktails were also great, so highly recommend to book this restaurant for a fun night out. The atmosphere is really cozy and the music selection is thought out and helps in making the experience even better. What I enjoyed the most though, was the service. I believe is a family owned business and you can tell they really love what they do. Easily the best meal we had in Portugal. A group of us enjoyed a large variety of sharing plates and two bottles of wine expertly recommended by the owner of the restaurant (he owns and runs the place with his wife). This restaurant is divine, I would visit Lisbon again just to visit this restaurant. The food is perfection, every dish far surpassed all expectations. We had a beautiful freshly baked sourdough appetiser, for starter we had the steak tartare, chicken skewers and a carrot dish. For the main we had the Pork. We had an amazing meal at A Nossa Casa. 5* food at very reasonable price, lovely atmosphere and friendly family service. We went with our 4 and 6 year old daughters who were treated like little princesses and even got a dance with the wonderful owners at the end of the night. Even though the atmosphere was good, we only liked a lot the daily couvert but after dinner we all got a bad stomachache and vomit and for sure that’s food poisoning because when we ate the fried octopus something felt wrong. We would say that it’s not worth the hype. And also too expensive for the food served !!!!! Highly recommend the pumpkin and sweet potato gnocchi was the rock star dish for me! I didn’t have a reservation and it was Friday, but I was able to get a table.the restaurant was empty when I arrived, but it was a full house after I placed my order. FYI knock on the glass door, not the wooden door. It was not that obvious for me and I was trying to figure it outside lol. Anyway, the staff are super friendly and awesome. They made me feel like I was visiting their home. I never felt rushed and they love to chat, but not overbearing. For me it was all about the gnocchi! The plating made me excited about the dish. Wow… first bite slapped my tastebuds awake with its complex layers of flavors. Not sure if I should have started with this dish because it set my expectations high for the rest of the meal. The pork ribs were tender and good, but i lived in Texas and it felt like it needed a little something… corn or batatas. I ordered the mushrooms plate for my main dish and was dissatisfied. I felt that the dish was muddled and the purée did not go well with the mushrooms… I would suggest to avoid this dish. Using Wolfnet (long story...) we came across this restaurant and walked in to make a reservation for later in the evening. The place was quiet, we obviously intruded, but the bartender took the reservation and offered his special cocktail-of-the-day to taste. Coming back that evening, the restaurant was packed. Such a good restaurant. We made sure to reserve a table a couple days in advance via the phone which definitely paid off since it was full house by the time we got to the restaurant. The service was also amazing - the best service I have ever received from any restaurant before! Delicious food right in the centre of Lisbon. If you're looking for high quality cuisine, this is your spot. We did not book ahead but managed to obtain the small table in the back of the restaurant which seats two people on low down sofa chairs at what feels like the kids table. But make no mistake, this is grown up dining, and grown up service. The staff are great with recommendations in terms of volume of dishes and which dishes to order. The croquette to start was fantastic, best croquette I've had in Portugal with the quality of filling, not done by halves. The gnocchi was giant sized gnocchi which gave it an extraordinary texture meeting it's accompanying sauce head on for a wholesome mouthful. The octopus was delicious, cooked perfectly and with a great sauce to go with. I would prefer this to be slightly more charred on the outside but otherwise spot on. The beef cheef was a little bit of a let down, by far the weakest dish leaving us regretting not ordering the cod instead. But overall a great meal leaving our palates thoroughly entertained. My husband booked this gem tucked in the streets of Barrio Alto - I knew it would be delicious as I had seen mention of the name on a few different blogs, but it completely exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is cozy, cute and welcoming and the servers were all fabulous. We got multiple glasses of wine and a number of share plates and mains (which we always share) along with a wonderful glass of port for dessert. A very sophisticated restaurant which merges the portuguese cusine with ingredients and approaches of the rest of the world. We had an incredible "cured bonito", an interesting "strawberry gazpacho", an amazing codfish and a good octopus with a fluffy puré of sweet potatoes. With a bottle of water, a bottle of wine and other 2 glasses of the same wine (don't judge us, we are in holiday!) we paid 50€ per person, fair price for the quality of the food and the wine. This is so good so many excellent reviews, it doesn't need mine. Everything was excellent and delicious despite my expectations already being high. The little cherry on the cake goes as follows: we received a dish we hadn't ordered, when I mentioned it, they immendiately said "taste it, we will prepare the one you ordered too and serve it next", this is superb service! What is truly unbelievable is that out oof all the dishes we had the one we got by accident (gnocchi) was unanimously rated "out of this world". Normally to me a staff mistake is rather a "negative", this time it was a very positive event! This place is a must when in Lisbon. This restaurant is fantastic. All of the food is incredible, 10/10. The flavors are unique and hit all the spots. I would not al all be surprised if this gets the Michelin bib gourmand / guide. The service was also friendly and pleasant. You can probably only get seated with a reservation because the space is very small and extremely popular. The only downside: We had a reservation for 21:15. We were not actually seated until 21:40. The staff apologized profusely though and the rest of the service was very good. We were so lucky to have walked in and be seated in this cozy incredibly fun place! It was packed and lively. Book a table or queue early.. They have a few tables for walk ins. Lovely atmosphere and great waiters. Big problem.. The kitchen is very slow. For three sharing dishes we sat 2h. We would have had two more but didn't want to wait another hour. Maybe ask them to bring some dishes together. I'd recommend them to serve a bit faster. This way they wouldn't need to turn away lots of people.. And something about the playlist. Most people are tourists.. We don't need to hear classics from Swedish Abba or Italian Eros Ramazzotti.. I know you’re going to see alot of reviews when researching restaurants in Lisbon like this, but A Nossa Cassa was by far the best meal we had in Lisbon. The only negative was it was our first meal there. The servers were so knowledgeable and helpful with our choices and even suggested the perfect bottle of wine for us and you can tell they really cared about the food and experience. Every bit of food was bursting with flavor leaving you excited for the next dish. We got the steak tartare and I am still dreaming about it. The chicken skewers which exceeded expectations, the cod which was bathed in the most delicious sauce I wanted to drink it. And last but not least the octopus was cooked perfectly and the side veggies and slaw with it was outstanding. I’d fly back there just to eat there again. It is small so call and make a reservation a week ahead and you have to wait outside when you arrive we were confused. Honestly, this was the best meal of my entire life. I’ve never been out for dinner and had every single course just be absolute perfection. The atmosphere in the restaurant is just beautiful, so cosy and relaxed, and the staff were all so friendly and took the time to explain the dishes to us. The food was PERFECT. I’d recommend ordering a selection of starters and mains and sharing everything so you can try as many things as possible. The standouts for us were the chicken skewers and teriyaki pork ribs for starters, and the octopus and pork belly for mains. That pork belly was actually one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, everything was cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth. I really couldn’t recommend this place enough, not only was it the best meal we had in the whole of Lisbon, but we all agreed it was the nicest overall dining experience we’ve ever had. A true gem!! The staff are wonderful and the chef is a genius. This may be the best meal I have ever eaten in 50 years of seeking out good food. My partner and I were looking for a place for her birthday supper and we felt like the Bairro Alto was the place to go. We were so lucky as to stumble upon A Nossa Casa. The menu is not large but it is creative and judging by our two appetizers and two entrees it is magnificent food. The plates are not large but they are very tasty, intriguing and satisfying. I especially enjoyed the beet and green apple appetizer, the celeriac and mushrooms entree and the octopus and sweet potato or yam entree. Whilst visiting Lisbon for my earlier this year, we ate at Nossa Casa and it was an amazing experience. Both me and my other half agree that we received the best service we’ve experienced to date. We were warmly welcomed, offered several different bottles of wine to try, talked through the menu and made to feel at ease. The food itself was, and am sure still is, delicious. We sampled several starters, mains and deserts. We also requested some cocktails that weren’t listed on the menu, this wasn’t an issue and they arrived promptly after. A chap who I believe was the owner had a chat with us (was also serving) and explained the history and ensured we had a great time. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. The food was delicious. Everything we tried was cooked/prepared to perfection. The cured bonito was a perfect combination of sweet, salty, sour, umami and spicy. They go for a 'sharing' approach to all their dishes and every single dish we had was so beautifully balanced and absolutely delicious. Definitely a great find. My wife and I saw it had good reviews so decided to check it out. You have to book a day or 2 ahead as it’s quite small. Nice decor, feels very intimate. Started off with a few glasses of nice fix, not silly expensive. Food is for sharing, split into starters and main. First things first: you need a reservation. We called one hour in advance and managed to get a table for two, but the place was otherwise packed. It's a small cosy restaurant and the staff are extremely nice and helpful, it really adds to the overall experience. The food: the bread (appetiser) was one of the best I ever had, absolutely divine. Same goes for the white tuna in mini brioche - to die for! (this one was a substitute for another appetiser they didn't have in the menu). The grilled leek with potato foam was really good, the potato texture was quite interesting. The pork and mushroom main was good, but the other main we had (pumpkin curry) was a bit of a hit and miss for me, that's why I am giving it four stars. But maybe it is just a personal preference. This experience was just amazing. I was lucky to get a table, the evening was full of reservations (so make sure you get a table beforehand, I was alone and quite early for the dinner). Service was very kind, attentive, owner (I guess) explained every meal o to me, got me tips how it would work together and matched perfect wine pairing. The food itself was just as amazing. When I got sourdough bread (which was soft and crispy at the same time) I knew I chose the restaurant well. All the courses were full of flavors which complimented each other. An absolutely amazing dinner. The food was delicious. Each of the dishes we tried were so unique and tasty. The service was really great too, where they talked us through each of the dishes and wine recommendations in detail. It really started our trip to Lisbon off in the best way. It’s located perfectly if you want to get a drink after, as lots of bars located close by. The only one thing I would say as it’s located on a busy pedestrianised street, lots of people kept trying to come in (as it looks so nice inside) they keep the door locked but think they should also put a sign up saying they are fully booked (if they are) as it would reduce down the amount of passers-by trying to open the door. Our best dinner during our stay in Lisbon so far! A cosy place in the middle of the "minor chaos" from Bairro Alto and it's drunk tourists. We picked 5 dishes and shared a dessert. This is the most friendly place in all of Lisbon and Antonio and the whole family created an amazing experience for us. We had the Tempura, the Bao, the roasted pork cheeks and the Tapioca w/ vegetables and every single dish was exceptional. We can also heavily recommend the guava jelly cheese cake and the green wine. The most stunning food I have ever eaten in my entire life. Saw great reviews on TripAdvisor and booked a table. Small little cozy restaurant and the servers were beyond welcoming. Our server Bruna I think her name was (sorry if that’s not correct) was amazing and sooo lovely. All of the dishes had so much depth in flavor it’s hard to describe. We ordered 4 items to share and the portions did not come short !! We left so full until the next day😂 I also tried the local wine and port our lovely server recommended. If you are in Lisbon, make a point to eat at A Nossa Casa. They serve a petisco menu. The servings are larger than a tappa, but smaller than a full portion. We had pork cheek tacos, tempura vegetables, chicken wings in peanut sauce, and entrecôte. The staff is very friendly and you need a reservation to make sure you don’t miss out. There are only 7 tables because of the Covid restrictions. The tacos, tempura, and entrecôte were incredible in every way. The wings were tasty and well prepared, but they were not as crispy as we would have liked (Crispy wings are just not a thing in Portugal and it is hard to please an American with saudade for Buffalo Wings🤷‍♂️). The food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The ambiance is great but what really stood out was the attention and service by Antonio and his colleague. Truly a gem in Bairro Alto. Such a beautiful restaurant! Small and intimate and the food was so flavourful. It was made to share which we thought was a beautiful concept. Very friendly staff. I went there for lunch. Quantity is a bit less and I would say it would cost ~20 Euro for a meal that makes you full. Ordered mussels and the house wine. One or two plate is recommended for a single person. Mussels come with a small glass of liquid from mussels that gas ginger and hint of spices. You eat mussels and then take a sip of water. The best restaurant we visited in Lisbon! It’s not just their foods, but the experience itself was special. It was recommended to share at least 3 plates for two and it was just perfect. We loved everything we ordered but the cod fish is something memorable. You need to book a table at least a day in advance as it’s almost always full. Oh my god. That was a wonderful evening. Lovely hosts who love food, people and their job. So intimate in a good way. Amazing food. They tell you a story about everything. You usually share every food with everybody on your table. Even if you do not want to because it is so good. You should definitely have a reservation. We had the best dinner in Portugal at A Nossa Casa! We were so lucky to get a table without booking on a very busy night that seemed impossible (seriously book beforehand!) We are a couple who tried 4 dishes and each of them was absolutely yummy. Our fav were the pork cheek tacos! Each dish is very well-presented and its flavours match so well. I came to A Nossa Costa as a single diner, the place was VERY busy and having no reservation the staff took my name and asked for me to return in an hour. After 45 minutes I came back and was seated at the bar. For me I had my heart set on tacos along with some other plates to accompany said tacos. Unfortunately by the time I arrived, the tacos were gone. I ended up having a drink and some ribs. Everything was great and I plan to return the next time I'm in Lisbon. Sublime experience. Antonio, our host was extremely passionate about the ethos of their restaurant explaining their vision and the portuguese history which shaped the menu. The food was devine and the service was very attentive. Many people have clearly heard about this gem and arrived, hoping to dine without a reservation. Having read the reviews, we noted a reservation was recommended and we are glad we took that advice otherwise we would have missed the opportunity of this wonderful dining experience. We went to A Nossa Casa due to the extremely good reviews and had corresponding expectations. While the owner was extremly friendly and the place is quite nice (but very loud) from inside we did expect more from the food. As recommended we ordered three dishes, two of them were good (4 stars), however one, the green beans tempura, to us was super oily and missing any taste at all (1 star). None of the dishes struck us as extraordinary. All in all it was ok, but we had better food in Lisboa and definitely higher expectations for this restaurant. As there are only two people taking care of all tables service was friendly but not very attentive and partly slow. The dishes weren't served together which might be part of their concept that everything should be shared (doesn't work too well if not everyone likes the same dishes), but while the first two came pretty fast after each other the last dish took about 15 minutes after we had finished the first two. Prices are reasonable, especially for the drinks. But when it says "1l" for a bottle of water in the menu I expect to get a 1l bottle and not 75 cl.
