  This was a lovely bar to stop for an afternoon drink with friends! The views on the Sunday we went were fantastic owing to the waterfront location and the weather, and there were enough customers sitting with us on the terrace upstairs, to give the place a warm vibe. We didn't have any food (maybe next time!), but our friend had the hot chocolate which came with a nice little meringue 😊 Staff were really lovely and welcoming and very helpful, would be interesting to see the place at night and weekends.   I would love to give this place a higher score. Sadly the friendly staff, prime location and inviting interior could not hide the bad standard on the food. Nothing special at all. Overpriced and under expectation in every way. We shared a mixed grilled meat tray, and for the price of 46€ you barely get enough meat for one person. What was presented was a pair of chicken wings, two tiny pieces of ribs, two small sausages and two thin/ small pieces each of pork and beef. The amount of meat could have probably fitted in one of my hands to be honest. Flavours and quality on the meat was not that good either. No one really came over to our table with the courtesy to ask how we liked the food either. So i never had the chance to express my opinion. No one showed interest in how our experience was before paying and leaving either. Would not recommend for eating! Price-to-quality on the food is a big deal-breaker here.   We came across this place by accident looking for a fish restuarant close to town but also on the sea front. We both ate the fish of the day which was amazing and I highly recommend to ask for some of the calamari sauce with the fish, it was honestly one of the nicest sauces I have ever tried. We were served by a lady called Poonam and the service was excellent. The only downside was the music was a bit annoying as it was playing over a live band that were on the pavement just below. Other than that lovely food and a even better view.   We ate and relaxed in this establishment during our 6 day stay in the city. Unlike some of the other reviews we found that staff and other patrons to be a delight. I am an Architect by profession and became intrigued by the way the stairs to the second floor, including the covered balcony were structurally framed with legitimate pieces of steel shapes. It gave the stairs a unique "bounce" as you climbed or descended. I also found the simplicity of the washroom rather intriguing so of course captured a couple photos. The location of the place is relaxing in that it is located near the end of the tourist esplanade and traffic is more subdued and the hurried pace seems to slow just a little bit more than the remaining length.   We really enjoyed lunch here, the terrace is a beautiful spot to enjoy a glass of wine or two. Only planned to stop for a drink, maybe snack, but the terrace was so lovely we ordered more to stay and enjoy the view. We shared a few starters as tapas, and everything we ordered was delicious. The pica pau and bruscetta with bacon were excellent but we particularly enjoyed the chicken taco.   Actually only the view is nice. Food is overpriced way to far. The quality of the food - you'll find much better options not so far away from here and for much lower price. My soup of the day had literally no taste whatsoever. Only the stuff knows how many times it was watered down until it lost the taste completely. The starter included old bread rolls and almost melted butter (not sure if it was even still good to eat), olive oil in tiny bottle and olive paste (I can confidently say it was the only thing with some taste).   We stumbled into this place looking for a refuge from the rain and loved it! The decor is really something and service was great.   Cool ambiance and couldnt get a better location. Food was delicious, a few of the dishes weren't what we expected- the shrimp taco needed the heads removed but the pork on it added some salty to the juicy veggies. the zoodles were cold but seasoned well and plenty of sauce.   A fine place to catch an early dinner and drink. The second floor balcony is really lovely to overlook the water, and the restaurant is well decorated. The food was simple but good, nothing to note about either of our meals. I got the tuna steak with sweet potato purée, potatoes, and arugula. As you can see in the photo, the sweet potato purée was simply a plate decoration rather than a true side. The arugula salad came barely dressed with a little olive oil, which was fine for me, but again, nothing special to note. I also got the white sangria, which was a little disappointing since the only fruit in it was a few orange slices and mint. My fiancé got the fish of the day (dorado), which he said was good.   We stumbled in when my spouse noticed there were open tables on the top floor overlooking the sea. We initially just got Good gin and tonics (ask for lime As it’s not a given) and after seeing the food go by we had fried calamari with aïoli followed by a seafood rice that was like paella in ingredients only. The seasoning was sensational and unique. Though it was very busy, we were not rushed and the two servers were attentive. Though our rating may be swayed by the perfect weather we had that day and the fabulous ocean view, we would unreservedly give it five stars, as both the red and white wines and the dessert and coffees we ordered were also sublime. Just don’t forget to look up and see that there’s a Terrace above! We will definitely be back next time we’re in Lisbon.   My friends and I decided to visit this cafe to cool down from a hot sunny day in Lisbon. We all happened to be Black tourists who were visiting Lisbon, Portugal for the first time. While we enjoyed being by the sea and loved the mussels and shrimps that we ate, we really felt that the Manager (white male) for the cafe gave us poor treatment and often times made us feel like second class citizens. The manager was not very friendly. He did give not us any warm greetings and often made us feel like he wanted us to leave. We asked if we could have some tap water with lemon and ice and we were told that the manager would not give this to us because we needed to buy the bottled water instead. Apparently, he felt we were too cheap and could not afford to buy a bottle of water, which was not the case given the number of drinks and meals that we ordered. On several occasions, the Manager took our food away rudely without asking us if we were done eating. The Manager seemed uncomfortable with the number of Black patrons in his restaurant and it was clear he wanted us to leave. We found the friendliness and customer service of the Manager to be really poor and unprofessional. As Black tourists, we did not feel welcomed here and I would not encourage other Black tourists to eat at this establishment as they seem to think that Black tourists are second class citizens in Portugal. Descobrimos que a simpatia e o atendimento ao cliente do gerente são muito ruins e pouco profissionais. Como turistas Negros, não nos sentimos bem-vindos aqui e não encorajaria outros turistas Negros a comer neste estabelecimento, pois parecem pensar que os turistas Negros são cidadãos de segunda classe em Portugal.

  Walked into this restaurant for the nice terrace, decided to pick something to eat, ended in eating a complete feast. At first I was so dissapointed about the service, as the prices were not too high not too low, they were a little understaffed, we could always understand that as it was 1st of January. The food was marvelous, we liked it alot, also the “Brodetto di mare” that we ordered for 2 people, could easily feed 4. The soup was crazy good, also the beef was decent but the star was this Brodetto. Weird rule of not smoking on the roof but smoking on lower terrace. We recommend the place, we also recommend to the place to hire a few more servers, also the servers should speak a little english as we were surrounded by tourists.   We visited Vestigius on a Saturday evening in September the table was reserved 5 months previously to our visit so they had plenty of time to be prepared for us. We were seated upstairs when we arrived the room was completely empty apart from us. There were a small group outside on the balcony, even so the service was abysmal it took over an hour for us to all to receive the drinks that we ordered. The food took over 2 hours to arrive at the table; we chased them up at least 3 times we all waited patiently, eventually one of us spoke to the manager; who denied being the manager, he said he didn't care because he was not the owner, he laughed in our faces when we said we were upset with the service and said it didn't matter because it was the staffs last night. I have never in all my life received such bad service and attitude from any restaurant I've ever been in. I would definitely not recommend a visit here, the decor looks good some of the staff are friendly but the manager is not naturally a jovial or empathetic person.   The location of this restaurant is great. The food is ok but expensive but the service is poor. We waited too long for our drinks and far too long for our food. When we complained nobody seemed to care or apologise for the poor experience. Charged us wrong on the bill and laughed when we corrected them. I am not one to bother about cost but when one asks for tap water (knowing there I nothing wrong with it here) and being told they don’t serve it and only bottled water....is questionable.
