  A small outdoor terrace, also with a fado restaurant. The food was excellent. There were plenty of prawns, and the meat was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and sufficiently proficient in languages. However, the delivery of dishes to the table didn't go quite smoothly. Both the prawns meant as starters and the meat skewer meant as the main course were brought to the table at the same time. In the cool spring breeze, both cooled down too much. Other operations resembled too much those of a typical tourist place. Apparently, the credit card reader didn't work, and there was no proper invoice for the dishes.   Overall our experience was good. We ate there for lunch, ordered an octopus salad and a chorizo for entree, then an octopus salad (bigger, with more veggies) and some sardinhas. To drink, green sangria. Except the chorizo, everything else was very good. The two octopus plates arrived at the same time after a while, but they totally forgot the chorizo so we had to remember them. It was not so great and definitely not worth the price. I had a beer and the steak Cafe which pictured has steak and fries, but actually also came with 2 eggs a slice of ham and a slice of cheese. My wife had tomato soup and bacon wrapped dates and a couple glasses of wine. We were asked if we wanted bread and we did and we also expected to pay for everything we ate... which was reasonably priced for the amount of food and drink we had.   The most worst service ever! We came, and without ordering food yet, we got some bread, cheese and some rolls for starters. We didn't order this, so we thought these were starters from the house for welcome. At the end of the night, I see at our bill some amount of extra 16e. I asked just to check what that is and she wanted extra 16e for something we never ordered!!! She said if she puts bread on the table and I eat it I have to pay. I was shocked!!! I said if I wanted starters I could order something else for those 16e not bread she gave me. Does that mean that if she puts a glass of wine of 100e I have to pay for that too?   Pretty good! Great prices for a LOT of food. Come hungry because the portion sizes are huge. We got the sardines appetizer (more like a meal), octopus rice, and tuna black eyed peas salad. Most dishes come with a salad or with potatoes so prepare to be full. They had a nice outdoor patio to sit and enjoy the food. They also have live music every night at 6pm, it was I believe.   Stopped here initially to have a drink and rest our feet after climbing many hills in the Alfama's winding streets. Looked and the menu and had the octopus and sardines. Wow both dishes were simple but packed with flavour. The sardines moist and sweet served with a green salad and the octopus tender in burnt butter sauce with a jacket potatoes.   It was a touristy destination for eats, but it was convenient for us to rest on the way to our place. The food was a decent Portuguese spread and reasonable in price, and it was interesting to watch the surroundings while eating outside in the patio area. I was still struggling with jetlag and not feeling the best, so I didn't eat much, but my octopus salad tasted fine. They play it in smaller blocks throughout the night and it is very disrespectful to talk during these blocks of music. They really take it seriously, so pay attention as their music is amazing. And when u ask to pay by card they even don't let you use card machine which shows its scammers,and they will show you nearest Euronet ATM which charger 2-3€extra for withdraw money . I been agreed to pay whatever the game they were playing bcz of respectful visitors if I'm alone or with another person I would never be agreed how they want. As a person I have been worked/experienced I would called police or give a call to social seguranca for thier illegal works. They just wanna rip of tourists, so sad. If you are reading this please turn around, I was so disappointed! We waited over an 1hour for seafood and pizza with a side of fries. The seafood arrived and was bland and tasteless, the prawns still had shells on but didn't provide anywhere to wash hands. The pizza was uncooked and processed shop bought (and not even the nice shop bought ones) probably for 1 euro, yet we paid 13 euros! Absoutely the worst resturant I have EVER been too, please avoid! When we showed the waiter the pizza, he didn't even apoligise and when my mother went to pay they where talking about her, very unwelcoming!   What you see in the picture is a 15€ portion of cuttlefish. When I got served the portion the smell was unbearable. Cuttle fish is one of my favorites and I know how it's done. The cooking was terrible with burned bits and no grill marks. I can guess it might have been either grilled in advance and warmed up on the grill or it was just old fish. My partner could smell something as soon as the plate got close to the table, when I complained the did change my portion to something else. I'm any case overall quality of the place bad, avoid it and don't make the same mistake we did. Pros. Polite service, good drinks, music. Food quality very low.   Stay away this is a tourist trap. Overpriced, low food quality, poor service. I ate Sardines and I regret it, they were 4 when regular Portuguese portion for Portuguese people is 8. They were frozen and defrosted on the spot to end at my dish still bloody. Portuguese salad usually served with sardines was non-existing, instead a couple of re-heated boiled potatoes was all I got. Average low quality table wine. Desert was ok. I will never go back or recommend it to anyone. I noticed he tried to serve different orders other customers too. One liter of White Sangria costs 15€ (June 2022) but it tasted like regular Sangria.   Terrible. This is not a fado house. This is a tourist attraction. Far too many people crammed in on a terrace, cannot hear or see the poor fado singers. Waiters were running around like headless chickens. Customers waiting far too long to be served. Asked for salt and pepper and was almost finished my meal by the time it came to the table. I think there was only one salt and pepper available. The food was ok but the potato chips were cold. The place has no atmosphere and I will never go back. The waiter welcomed us with apologies for the unconvincing situation - lack of reservation option for outdoor garden caused by the exceptionaly increased occupancy. Then he showed us a table for a bigger group of seven people. This meams that the restourant is adapted for teams and families . Few minutes later he served us starters, kindly informing us that if we will consume them, the extra price will be included. We decided for Octopus Salad ( 3/5, too much of onion), small shrimps (4/5 good souce, however a bit dry), Grilled Octpus with shrimps (3/5 the taste of the sauce was off kilter) and sole Grilled Octopus (4/5 too much oil) and Codfish (5/5) .   The restaurant is located outside of a secluded street. The food depends upon the dish was ok. Grilled octopus was good although it was not salty and dipped in to a lot of olive oil with garlic and coriander. It was a very decent portion of grilled octopus.   Arrived early and ordered three different grilled fish entrees from their day menu. It took 45 minutes for these simple dishes to arrive after later diners arrived and were served. Plus all three entrees were over cooked. No idea why it took so long and if they served us sooner the food would have been much better. The food is great, large portions and all have side dishes even if they don't appear in the menu. The drinks menu is not so diversified but it's all you need.   Not usually one to write a bad review as I know it can effect companies however this is worth an exception. The food was absolutely dreadful, the pizza and lasagne was cooked from frozen.   As a tourist make sure to check your bill for sure at this place. We were charged for the olives/cheese/meat plates which they bring to your table saying "You don't have to eat". Once we questioned our server on it, he at least was quick to acknowledge it and take it off. Also, they will try to encourage you to tip (especially Americans) even though service should be included in the meal. Otherwise, the food was alright. Service was fairly slow, but that's kinda the pace everything seems to operate so just enjoy it. Definitely a very seafood heavy menu (it's traditional Portuguese cuisine after all) but as a vegetarian I was able to find some options.   Food was okay, could be better. The soup was fine. But when asking for some open wine / wine of the house the waiter brought us the most expenciest wines what we noticed later on the bill.... -> touristic rip-off... Mas ao pedir um vinho / vinho aberto da casa o garçom trouxe-nos os vinhos mais caros o que percebemos mais tarde na conta.... -> roubo turístico... Não é pior ir até lá
