  The service here was top notch and the food was delicious. We were a very simple order, two bifana and two beers and both came in less than 2 minutes. We enjoyed it so much we went back and ordered another beer and sandwhich. All and all our bill came out 13 euro and it couldn’t have been more worth it. It's a hole in the wall with people coming in, getting a quick sandwich, ginja, etc, eating it standing on the counter and heading out in matter of minutes. It's less of a restaurant than a food joint for the locals. But it's god-damned authentic for sure. People in shorts to people in suits were all mingling together in search of some quick, cheap and good food. The Bifana was super, as was the chicken and fish cutlets, the Ginja drink and the custard in a bowl. The service was extremely friendly, even if a bit rushed as you can expect. The prices were ridiculously low but that's what makes it even more charming. A place that's found fame in the global food lists but doesn't care about that in the least and stays true to what it has always been - a Portuguese local community watering hole catering to all. It was a bit cold outside so I had fresh orange juice to help my throat and chicken soup! The soup was excellent with nice chunks of white meat. It really hit the spot.   Definitely the best bifana we had in Lisboa! While during our research on where we needed to visit / eat / drink we learned that Anthony Bourdain came here and recommended it… so, we most definitely needed to try it! Not much room for indoor dining. I’d say maybe about 3 long tables that sit 6 each. We landed in Lisboa after an 8 hour flight and needed food. This was the first place we came to eat at. Tables were full so we stood up at the counter and ate our bifana and drank the local beer. They go hand in hand such a great combination. If you like spice and heat. Ask for the hot oil! It’s absolutely incredible on the bifana! Yes, if the tables are full, you can stand and eat at the counter. They do have a couple tables outside. Definitely try your best to speak Portuguese. Even if you need to use google translate. The Portuguese people will appreciate it! We tried our best and the waitress was super appreciative and happy that we did. You can tell when she smiled after we tried! It’s cash only so bring cash. The second time we went, we remembered after we ordered. There is an atm about a block away at the bank. 5 stars!   Glad we decided to try this little cafe a couple of times we were in Lisbon last week. We loved their pork bifana, the hamburger with garnish and their coffee. On our last visit on Thursday evening the service wasn't on parr to that we received by the older waiter who was looking after the tables...he was fantastic, really helpful and explained the menu, provided suggestions and then listened to what we wanted. The younger waiter (wears glasses) on Thursday evening wasn't interested, seemed to want to get you out of the cafe quickly, said only pork or beef sandwiches were available when that wasn't the case looking at what others were ordering and didn't listen to our final order..that's why 4stars for service. We would go back again but only when the older waiter is working the tables. Great service from the staff who worked the counter, especially the very tall female assistant.   I was staying at a hotel right beside this place and tried Anthony Bourdain's recommendation and it was my first official meal in Lisbon! Bifana was the priority with a side of a type of bean soup that I also used as dip! And the price? Can be afforded by even the homeless guy staying by the church nearby.   My husband and I finally had a chance to visit the famous O Trevo Restaurant that Anthony Bourdain visited in years past to try the Bifanas! The restaurant was extremely busy (standing room only inside) so we ordered two Bifanas (2,00 euros) and a Croquette (1,10 euros) to go, and sat across the street at Rossio square to eat them. The bread was soft and warm, the meat was tender and juicy. The croquette was crispy and very delicious. Overall, a great snack and and a great price for this wonderful, touristy restaurant. We highly recommend O Trevo if you are in the Rossio area of Lisboa!   Felt very local with many workers coming for a bite. There could be lines for tables but Don’t be afraid to walk past it for a free spot to eat standing at the bar! Bifana is the Juicy pork sandwich on soft bread, I see people also having the leek soup! Coffee was good here too. Cheap and cheerful. Quick breakfast bite can be had for less than €3! ... would come back to try other things at the table.   Quick and friendly service. I would not say it’s a must but it’s still fun to do when in Lisbon. Location is very convenient being right in the center. Ordered one bifana (roast pork) with cheese (€2.25) one prego (beef steak) with cheese (€2.85) a plate of fries (€3?) and a couple of “salty” things (€1.1 each) and 3 beer for around €14/15. I think prices are slightly higher for table service vs what’s posted or maybe we paid a tourist tax, who knows. Still a good value meal for when you just want some simple food with cold beers. Add piri piri sauce (you can let the grill man know or find a small sauce bottle on the table) to the sandwiches for extra kick. Fries are not salted so find a salt jar sprinkle some on or go European and use the mayo (server brings to you). Ketchup was not Hines. (Traduzido pelo Google) Serviço rápido e amigável.   Came here around 1pm on a Monday and it was hectic! Dozens of people eating/drinking/crowding around the bar. Thankfully the waiter took pity on us and ushered us to an actual table. They have a menu that is somewhat in English but we didn't really need it as we were here for the bifanas. The waiter spoke enough English to take our order just fine. We each got a bifana, the vegetable soup, and a beer. The bifana was €2 and the bread was amazingly soft. The pork was tender but a bit flavorless, hence the 4/5 stars. The soup was thick and tasty and the beers were cold and on draught. Food came quickly and overall it was a lively, good, and yummy experience.   Absolutely love this place, the staff is so friendly and the pork sandwich is just amazing!!! The pork is nicely cooked as you can see walking in the restaurant from the outside. Beer has three portion for you to choose, the Octopus salad is great too, is soft and full of flavor with olive and olive oil!   Great experience. We had wanted to get another bifana at BDO down the street (but they were closed! On a Saturday!) so we dejectedly continued the trek up the street toward our apartment... then I saw this place out of the corner of my eye, and it looked like a cool little casual cafe that might have sandwiches (and they might even be reasonably priced)... and I was right! We ordered a bifana and a prego -- both were good (the bread is amazing) and super reasonably priced... but the prego is a little salty, whereas the bifana was PERFECT, so we we then ordered ANOTHER bifana and a couple glasses of very affordable vinho verde. 2 bifanas plus 1 prego plus 2 glasses of vinho verde came to a grand total of less than 8 euro! (Oh yeah, and the whole vibe was pretty laid-back and friendly... the servers seemed to be happy and approachable.) No wonder the locals love this place! I'm pretty certain we will be back...
