The food was all delicious but too much mayo on a lot of things, especially French fries with a lot of mayo on top. I like mayo but it's a bit too much of mayo.   I had a truly wonderful meal at Tapa Bucho. Luckily we were a big table so I was able to try many things and they were all delicious. Highlights were the seafood rice, the cauliflower cooked 2 ways, pork belly. And they madevthe most delicious G&T's! I'd definitely go back when im next in town!   This tapas place is amazing! I have been here twice because I couldn’t find a tapas place like this that ticks all the boxes. The staff are very attentive and we really enjoyed our food. We ordered the oxtail tacos, octopus rice, pork belly and prawns. They were all delicious, especially the oxtail tacos. We had chocolate cake for dessert which was rich and indulging. The creamy buckwheat dish is one of the best things I have ever eaten. - fried potatoes 4/5 - pardon peppers 4/5 (a bit too much salt but very tasty, and I'm not a fan of cooked peppers) - oxtail croquettes 5/5 - pica pau 2/5 (the meat was really chewy and bad, otherwise this dish would be great) - creamy buckwheat 6/5 absolutely amazing - red sangria 3/5 a bit too sweet and flat for me, but it was tasty All for ~50 euros (not including tip), well worth it.   One of my favorite meals to date. We went without a reservation on a Sunday around 7:30 and they were able to accommodate us. They were packed by 9 so if you’re a later eater make a reservation so you’re set! We tried about 6 dishes including dessert, and 4 cocktails. Everything was amazing. Don’t miss it!   After wrong directions to this restaurant we were late and I was sure our reserved table was lost! However Fred the manager kept the table for us after the 15 alloted time so we're in!! Delicious food, fabulous staff, wonderful atmosphere all win, win. Extra special as I was celebrating my birthday and a lovely dish of Churros were presented with a candle.   All tapas dishes were very delicious! Some even reached Michelin star quality. Especially the roasted portobello in whatever deliciousness that sauce was.   Excellent food and service. This is my second time eating here, and it never disappoints. The plates are small and meant for sharing, which I am unfamiliar with, but I was guided by Gabi’s recommendations and had a selection of traditional Portuguese selections including pica pau and huevos rotos.   Service was great. Nice atmosphere. The food was fine but not 4.4 starts .. we have ordered medium well steak and got rare cold tasteless watery steak. When the waitress asked how everything was I explained the steak was great. She had offered to make a new one but it was too late and I don’t think they could do better ( tasted like it was frozen before cooked ). I expected not be charged for it as I didn’t eat 90% of it.   Big disappointment. I booked this spot in advance for my boyfriend’s birthday and we were really looking forward to our evening. Upon arrival, we were seated on the top floor - an empty room with no atmosphere. Cherry on top, we had to listen to a Bon Jovi’s playlist non-stop and that really killed the night for us 😅 Food was nice except the huevos rotos that were too moist and liquidy (still very expensive for what it is served). And the food... it was simply delicious (we even ordered the Portobello mushrooms twice).   I found this on the maps as I was looking for a tapas place in Lisbon. We didnt have any reservation but gladly we were accomodated. The food was so good, although I noticed that the choices are a bit limited. Nevertheless, all that we picked were delicious. I had a bottle of white wine as well. Favourites by far was the Portobello which was recommended to us by the staff. The croquettes were nice too. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience here. Amazing food. Good service and nice atmosphere. The only downside perhaps is the location, in order for you to get there you have to take a lot of stairs - well its Lisbon so you have to be ready for that.   My wife and I had an excellent experience here. It's in a fun location and has a great atmosphere. The service was excellent and friendly (I can't remember our server's name, but she was great and we had some fun conversations). We ordered four tapas, some bread and olives and shared a dessert. This was more than enough for 2 people. They have some really unique tapas (oxtail taco was awesome). The wine was decent for the price and the demon cocktail had some kick.   Lovely place. It is not often that we can say we loved everything we ordered. We especially loved the ceviche, tuna taco's, oxtail taco's and the chocolate cake. The pica pau was good too. The pork belly for us was not as crisp or tender as we had hoped we had difficulty cutting and chewing, but the taste was still there. We also saw other batches of the pork belly being served and those looked a bit crispier so maybe we just had a bad batch. The service staff were super friendly and always ready to help.   Came for dinner on a Saturday, was super crowded but only waited about 20 minutes for a table. Unfortunately I think they were understaffed since it took about 20 min after we sat down for someone to come over. Also sat upstairs and the fans weren't on so very very toasty.   This was terrible. Honestly, biggest thing: The tempura batter was raw inside the cod tempura. I told and showed the waitress but she really didn’t care and I saw her throwing it away. The chefs were 1 meter away from her but she never told them. And I won’t even talk about the consistency of it… it is not tempura. Also they forgot to service us when we were tabled upstairs in the waiting room so after 30 minutes we could order drinks for the first time. We had the cheese and sausage platter.   Absolutely wonderful evening at Tapa Bucho. We were a little late but they managed to find us a table without having to wait too long. Bruno who we met at the front of the house was so kind and warm. We had the wonderful Beatriz waiting on our table for the night who was very friendly and really on top of things. As for the food, it was delicious! The pork belly was amazing but the best dish was the tuna tartare tacos. Never have we seen tuna tartare tacos before but we decided to skip dessert and have another round! They were excellent!   Hope is restored! After a disappointing first evening meal in Lisbon we came to Tapo Bucho for our second night and it was absolutely beautiful. The food was insane. The service was great throughout and the setting of the restaurant was very classy. We ordered the calamari and prosciutto croquettes which were crispy and very tasty, cod tempura which were delicious they were cod placed in a crispy shell, pork belly which was tasty although we wouldn’t order this again, and patatas bravas. We wanted to visit the restaurant again but we found it had moved to new bigger place. Unfortunately this is not at the same level it was before and has turned into a tourist trap serving mediocore food. If the owner is reading this, please bring back the original Tapa Bucho we loved.   Nice little and modern Tapas restaurant. We visited it because of the hood reviews and got a table for two without reservation. We ordered 5 different kinds of tapas, but unfortunately we only got 4 of them, because they forgot the last one. Two of them were very good and delicious as well (cod tempura and the croquette with ham) and the other two are only standard (lettuce and eggs) The lettuce was too less for 7,80€, because you will got only 1 small lettuce, which is sliced in two pieces. The taste was okay, but nothing special. The Huevos Rotos (poarched egg with potato, cheese and ham) was not that delicious as well. We missed the cheese and you will not have some Sauce. The worst thing was the not good egg, because the egg white was very fluent. But the best thing was the ham on the eggs and potatoes. The waiter was very nice and very helpful as well.   4.5 stars. After some research to find something tasty, we stayed in our local neighborhood for tapas at Tapa Bucho Gastrobar. We were seated on a pleasant open-air terrace above street level. They call it the first floor, we would say second. Our hostess and server were really personable, like they wanted you to enjoy your visit. Short but distinctive menu with many small plates plus some more hearty choices such as steak or sandwiches. We chose a variety of small plates-Iberian smoked ham (prosciutto), fried potatoes with garlic aioli, garlic shrimp. But in my opinion the potato ham croquettes we're the best part of the meal although it was all very good. Croquettes were light and not greasy at all with an above average quantity of ham. Really tasty bread also. The dessert churros were a bit of a disappointment-served at room temperature and not too crisp. The melted chocolate dip alongside made a big difference.   This was by far the worst food I had in Lisbon after staying here for two weeks. The food made both my partner and I incredibly sick - we could not even finish our meals. The charcuterie board is overpriced with only two selections, both very under par. The ox tail sandwich was completely unseasoned and bland. The codfish was mushy and tasted worse than frozen store-bought fish. The house wine was recommended, but was not very good. Almost every other location we have eaten at served impeccable food and this was most definitely an exception. We had made reservations here twice but were denied our booked time and instead placed at a different time - we went anyways, and it was not worth it. I would never eat here again. I have never even left a restaurant review before but felt compelled to do so after this experience as the previous ratings were wildly misleading. Avoid.   I went for dinner for two with high expectation from the reviews shown. For a starter we ordered a meat and cheese platter for 15€ that provided 7 thin slices of meat and 6 thin slices of cheese. We ordered three tapas that were not advertised correctly. The fried potatoes with aioli were soggy and had mayo to replace aioli, and a bit of spicy sauce, for a price unrepresentative.The oxtail sandwich was cold and soggy which left little flavor, we didn’t even eat it, it was actually inedible. All neighboring clients were upset and shared mutual concerns without request. If the quality met the price we would be happy to return but after this experience it is hard to find positivity.   This place was amazing! They were really busy and we hadn't booked but they managed to seat us. Also we asked for a terrace seat and they didn't have any to begin with but moved us as soon as one was available! The food was delicious, we ate so much! The only thing we didn't like was the squid ink croquettes as they were sooo thick and sticky in your mouth. Service was amazing and the price wasn't too bad either! Definitely recommend!   Nice looking place but food was just simply not good enough, especially for a place that has the bravos to name themselves a bistro bar on the signage. Menu looks interesting but when the food came out it was bland, stodgy and hugely disappointing. We actually mentioned to a server that the cheese plate had all three of the cheeses that had no flavour and she agreed but of that didn’t help us much. I’m afraid I would have to say avoid this place.   Tapa Bucho is a great tapas restaurant in Lisbon, in the Bairrio Alto, the common place to be at the afternoons and nights, because is where you can find a nice ambience and many restaurants and bars. I recommend you to make a reservation before cause if you don't have it, you might not have table. They just do reservationsnin the upper terrace until 19:30h, after that you can just reserve inside or you pass to the waiting list. We were on a Sunday night, about 19:30h to have some tapas. We had a olives hummus with toasts (4€), beef steak 🥩 on a grill (13€) and fried potatoes with fried eggs, caramelized onions and ham (7,5€). Everything was very good and tasty! To drink we had a 1L water (2,5€) and a red fruit sparkling sangria (14€), made with champagne. We paid a total of 41,30€ for 2 people. I would recommend to wear a jacket even in summer, cause there's a lot of wind in Lisbon at night. They were very nice and left me a blanket cause I was freezing. Recommended 100%!   This place was great. We actually went to “Tapa Bucho” first but there was a sign that they serve food at “Tapa Bucho Gastrobar”. Luckily they are fairly close together, but it was a bit confusing. The food was awesome and the prices were very reasonable in my opinion. We had the chicken sandwich, ceviche, pork cheek and cod bras. All of it was delicious - and a lot of other options also looked great. The churros after we’re also nice. The seating is a bit uncomfortable and it was somewhat cold because of the wind (and it wasn’t a particularly warm day). I should have brought a sweater.   Lovely little restaurant with a great selection of tapas which all taste great. The music was great and the staff was very nice and relaxed. We were there during the off season and had no issue to get a seat in the evening. But the waiter told us that it can take up to one hour to get seated during peak season. We will come back for sure.   Fantastic cosy restaurant serving authentic and tasty tapas! Really quick service and lots of choice, staff are more than happy to advise on dishes. The menu is kept hanging on your table so it's quick and easy to add more dishes and order as you go. Great alcohol options, and the house white is very good. My boyfriend and I don't normally dine out for long after finishing our meal but this place had such a brilliant atmosphere and music (90s hip-hop!) that we stayed on afterwards to enjoy more drinks. The area is clearly a popular evening jaunt and I can imagine is busy on weekends. We had 5 or 6 dishes, dessert and 6 drinks or so in total and the bill was less than €60 so very affordable for most. Would definitely recommend for good food, atmosphere and a special night out! Pork belly and breaded duck are very good and wine is v reasonably priced and champions local.   Read reviews and decided to stop by. We expected to wait for a table but got straight in with a lovely welcome. The staff were attentive but not overbearing but, more importantly, were knowledgeable about the food. We asked how many dishes were recommended and the suggested number was just right. While ordering we were asked about our preferences and items were suggested based on these. Everything suggested was phenomenal. A review I had read said that the ‘eggs in a pot’ were something that you MUST order. I would disagree. These were a real low point of the meal. Highlights were the ceviche and the pork cheeks.   Stopped by for a couple glasses of wine after dinner on Sunday night. Empty downstairs but the upstairs patio was pretty full and a really lovely, relaxing space. The house-made chips were thick and crispy. The two glasses of red house wine (Syrah and Tannat?) were not so good. But very cheap (~€3/glass) and generous pours.   Oh yes! These Porto Bello's were awesome! The bacalao was fresh and treated great. Service is quick and good. Although this place seems to focus on tourists is still good.   Wow. Just wow. Small place, 10 tables tops - if you didn't know it was here you'd walk past, but please don't. No reservations so if you want a seat you have to wait, they take your name and call when ready, and if your not there tough luck next (we had time to go to the bar round the corner). Once seated the staff are great with suggestions. The food was fantastic!! Tapas style plates for 2, 3 at a push (some we had to order double as we were 3). Speedy service, phenomenal food.   Best closest thing to Spanish tapas in Portugal! I have had so many tapas over the years with many being in Spain the tapas capital of the world. These tapas are amazing. A little more expensive then in Spain but hey this is not Spain. The croquettes are crispy on the outside and nice and soft inside. The mayonnaise garlic sauce was good but I recommend more garlic. The potatoes where awesome too just needs some extra hot sauce. The pata negra jamón.... increíble... incredible. Drink's.... awesome....I recommend Havana Club rum and coke throughout the night. If you are in town and need a Portuguese food break please come here for Tapas you will not be disappointed. They have 2 locations now too. A smaller local spot and a 2 story building. Both clean and beautiful. Great friendly staff. The walk up to the barrio is nice to and will get your appetite going...the walk down late at night is great to as you will see all the open shops, restaurants and people flocking to the streets. We did not try dessert...maybe next time but I have no doubt it's delicious. Can't wait to come again. 5 stars to this place. Will be back!!   Simply amazing! Great food for great prices, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. We shared a wonderful cheese plate, potato peels, bacalhau sandwich, garden "fishes" and shrimps among three people - just the perfect amount.   The food was sooo good that I didn't have time nor did I want to stop shoving that food in my face just to take a picture! As other reviews have said, this is a tiny place that probably only accommodates 20 people max. Plan on waiting if you don't get there early enough. Nonetheless, the food is top notch with lots of flavor. Drinks were well made too. The place is a little bid hidden in a typical side street(?) but don't be discouraged. I can honestly say everything we ordered was great. Tasty, fresh, and really just a fantastic presentation for most of them. The staff are lovely and helpful. The level of tapas is as good as you get in Barcelona and is certainly be better than what I’ve experienced at the Avillez restaurant.   A tiny little restaurant at the Barrio da Alto. Located at a secondary street not very easy to find. It seems that this style of tiny restaurant is a fashion way in Lisbon. I tried the bucho salad and the ox tail. Salad is quite special but the ox tail was a little bit dry. However, based on the observation of other tables, dishes like tortilla de ox tail, pica pau, and mussels looked really nice. The white sangria is a big big surprise!
