  Brought a table of 20, being moroccan I can say it's good food, homemade. Now a few improvements needed like putting potatoes or homemade french fries not industrial fries in the chicken tagine would be better and closing the door of the restaurant on cold evening also as some of my guests were eating with their jackets on.   Marrakesh has a terrific location - not in the tourist part of town, but in the part of town that's full of hotels that are convenient to the airport. After an exhausting day of sightseeing, an excellent nearby dinner was just the thing. There are two full menus here: Moroccan food and Indian food. We flipped a coin and went with Moroccan, though I'm sure there are no wrong answers. Our meals were plentiful and terrific. Being in a country devoted to tiles, the décor in Marrakesh is perfectly appropriate. Walls covered in intricate, colorful patterns provide a terrific atmosphere for a pleasant meal. There was only one glitch, but it's something that visitors to Lisbon should be aware of - the credit card processing here is apparently not set up for foreign transactions. Paying cash was no problem at all - the prices are very reasonable, but credit card snafus are always disconcerting. That said, I'd happily return to Marrakesh any time.   The atmosphere is nice and promising. We ordered a Couscous bowl and butter chicken with naan. Naan was good. Couscous with chicken was okay. But the butter chicken was terrible. They suggested a spicy version. The one we got was a bland yellow coloured dish with butter, cream and chicken. I am sure the chef had never seen authentic butter chicken in his/her lifetime.   We had the lamb complete couscous and the mixed grill and both where amazing. Especially the caramelised onions ons the lamb. We unfortunately didn't try the appatizers althought they looked great on the table next to us. The dessert where not that special. The main course really is where this restaurant shines.   The girls working there are nice, quality of food is less than average but still ok. My issue is that the waiter (slightly bald morrocan man) that served us was very rude and aggressive to us, in addition you need to order rice or bread separately, it doesn't come with the dish (like tajin), never eating there again.   Had an incredible evening at this restaurant. I ordered a vegetarian couscous, but my friends ordered a lot of different maroccan specialties and it was beyond good! Portions are generous, the vegetables cooked to perfection but, the nicest thing of all was the staff. Although they were very busy, they still had time to talk and be friendly. Also, because our bill was so huge, they didn't make us pay for one of the bottles of wine which was a very kind gesture. I definitely recommend this place!   Loved it! We ordered the tarka dal and the veal and veg tajine, both of which were very flavourful and delicious. Harissa soup as a starter was also good. Moroccan tea with baklava was a great way to finish the meal. The prices were very reasonable. The only problem we had was that it's not possible to pay by card (you could only pay with a card if it was Portuguese). But there is an ATM within a few minutes of the restaurant.   HALAL FOOD! Traveled almost 350KM from Algarve/Albufeira to try this gem at the heart of lisbon and boy were we in for a treat. On walking in, the already busy staff did not hesitate in getting us seated. As a muslim i had to complete one of my late prayers, after a chat with the jokey manager (5 Euros a prayer apparently hahahah) one of the kind ladies directed me to a room at the back. The food was great, Moroccan with a Portuguese touch.   I was there on 10th dec 2018 at 20:40. The flair at beginning was authentic.The lamps are originally morrocan also the rest of the decoration.You will find the magical feeling of morocco. We ordered a tagine with prunes and almond and a kafta machwi ( grilled minced meat). The food had at first a delicious view. The tagine was not served in a traditional tagine like usually in morocco. But the taste was very good. A mix of well coocked onions with the sweetness of the prunes (really good). And then I looked at the kafta....from this point, everything was going bad. The meat was extremely dry. This for 9 € without any sides, is definitely overpriced. Also the meat was not well spiced (no salt and no herbs). Nobody asked for additional drinks or about the taste.I was surprised, because that is not the real moroccan mentality (I'm moroccan, I know us very well). Also I ordered moroccan tea, but I wished I would have not. Very less mint and black tea, so that the taste was like hot water. That is very sad, because we tooked time and some miles to get there.   Nice surprise that they do Indian food too! We couldn't decide so we got a classic from each menu. Chicken tagine (Morrocan) and Chicken Biryani (Indian). Both were done beautifully.   Not only is this one of the best restaurants in Lisbon, it's one of the best Moroccan and/or Indian restaurants I've ever been to (and I've had Moroccan cuisine (restaurant and home cooking) all over the world). We tried Restaurante Marrakesh on our last night holidaying in Lisbon and to be honest I wish we had discovered it sooner. They provide two menus - one with Moroccan food and one with Indian food which is quite genius and not something I've seen before. We couldn't fault a thing. Everything was cooked to perfection. We tried the chicken tagine with olives and potatoes and the veal tagine w/ almonds and prunes. We also had the chicken tikka from the Indian food menu. Everything was very fresh and the meat was so tender and juicy. We tried to stick to eating traditional Portuguese food throughout our holiday but we weren't very keen on the codfish no matter how many times we tried it or how it was prepared and we enjoyed our meal here far more than some of the more traditional places which are revered on some of the Lisbon food travel guides you'll find online and on YouTube. The prices here are also incredibly reasonable, the service is top notch and the staff here are really friendly. I only wish they had a place in London (please come open up here!)   This was the first meal we had when we arrived in Lisboa - and it was amazing. The best food I've had on this trip thus far, and we have been to 8 cities in Spain and two in Portugal. I had the tandoori chicken with a side of basmati rice and Moroccan hot tea. The staff was also very friendly. Will be coming back!   The overall experience was nice but something was missing, let's see: the food (beef tagine, chicken couscous) was very good including the desserts (rice pudding cigarre, Moroccan ice cream); the service was nice but slow and with some flaws over what was ordered (some communication issues); the place is nice with around the world customers but very uncomfortable with tiny space between tables and chairs; it's not cheap; so the value is only fair. Maybe I'll give it a second chance.
